E.Loved our stay at Majestic Mansions, the apartment was spotless and styled for comfort. So close to St Clair beach which is a treasure to visit. Great cafes close by. Highly recommend staying here, we would certainly return.
C.Lovely old building. We had fantastic views over the ocean. Rooms were nice and comfy. Was great having nice eateries jus around the corner. Only negatives for me were that everyone’s doors slammed when the were coming and going and the wet room style shower. Will definitely stay again.

g.This is quickly becoming my 'GO TO' for a comfortable, stylish home from home in Dunedin. I particularly love the space in each apartment, the sound of the sea and excellent location beach side but just a few minutes from CBD. Just go there!
C.I can't rate Majestic Mansions highly enough. My wife and two adult daughters topped off a week in Fiordland and The Catlins with a night at MMs before flying out. The two bedroom apartment with a peek of the sea was perfect. Great beds, spacious kitchen, all so well-appointed and pretty good value too. There's a bus stop right outside to whisk you to the city-centre. Don't hesitate on this choice.
P.It is worth staying here for the lovely hosts. So accommodating and polite. I loved the apartment as well. It was bright, clean, and tastefully decorated. The building features beautiful high ceilings and lovely architraves - a treat after having lost some historical buildings in Christchurch after the earthquake. A highlight of the stay was also the location - fabulous! Around the corner from some great cafes/restaurants. We enjoyed the Italian one on the corner - the best food I've had for ages. And the sea is just right there. Absolutely stunning. I will be coming back here.
T.I'd highly recommend this place to stay if you have a rental car or you are doing activities in the area. It's beautiful, and the apartment is well appointed.
The only things you need to be aware of are:
- reception is unmanned, but it's easy to get acess when you arrive
- parks in the provided spaces are extremely tight, but there is road parking
- "sea view" rooms are just a technicality - I expected we'd looking out over the water, but we could just see a bit of the ocean from a side room window
- there's lots of stairs to lug your baggage up
- the windows rattle badly, so you need to put the little blocks into the gaps to stop the noise
R.Stayed here for a weekend with my family. This place is awesome, great location, super friendly staff, spotlessly clean, can't really fault it at all. The layout of the apartment was perfect, with everything we needed for our stay. We will be back ;-)
L.We loved our overnight stay in our apartment. Excellent value for money, wouldn't stay in a hotel/motel when you could have the space and old world yet modern charm of a whole apartment. Only 2 minute walk to the cafes, restaurants and the beach. Free wifi and undercover parking. We arrived after dark,warmly greeted with the keys and the heater turned on in our apartment which was so nice to walk into on a cold and rainy night. Apartment was clean, warm and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom is a wetroom, didn't concern us at all. Highly recommend and would stay again when in Dunedin.
T.The historical appearance of the building was certainly deserving of the name majestic and full of so much character. The apartment was very spacious and had everything I needed. The hoteliers were friendly and accomodating and even moved our teenagers bed into the lounge room so we all had privacy. Very well priced.
T.Our previous trips had been in small modern motel/hotel rooms. The location is great. Close to the main street with good restaurants. The best part was the brilliant service. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well set out. The rooms are beautifully decorated and there is even your very own parking spot.
T.We had a lovely stay at the Apartments at St Clairs. The rooms were very big. The rooms are lovely and quaint. The same lady at the counter was so accomodating for how I was feeling, even offered me some cough medicine. Great surfing and people watching on the esplinade.
T.Lovely owners and in a beautiful location by the beach. Thanks guys for your care and your lovely complex. Very good value. Our hosts Gavin and Wendy were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We loved our stay and the owners very much and thoroughly recommend this special place to everyone.
C.Five stars for the view on St Clair beach alone! Huge rooms. Powerful shower/wet room. Lovely hosts. And the sound of waves crashing on the beach all night - what’s not to love. (No elevator though, so you have to like stairs).
n.Very comfortable. Beautiful location. The owners and staff are the most genuinely helpful and friendly people. A perfect way for us to leave Dunedin
T.The bed was very comfortable. The main foyer area reminded us of some old building you would see in a British TV series. The wet area shower works fine as long as you pull the curtain and the owners have thoughtfully provided a squeegee mop to clean up the water.
T.We often visit Dunedin and really enjoyed the location at St Clair. We put out a load the evening we arrived and it was outside our door in the morning with a complimentary newspaper. We enjoyed a quiet night's sleep and we loved walking beside the sea before breakfast the next morning.
A.It was Ok..nice greeting. If you don't like stairs don't stay there. If you know what time your arrival is ask to have room warmed..depending on season of course.
No tv in bedroom. Comfortable bed & Clean & tidy.
