R.FRIENDLY! Wonderful hostess with friendly, helpful and efficient bar staff.
The food was beautifully presented, very satisfying and very tasty.
Lots of atmosphere in a classic old stone pub - love this place - a must stop if your traveling past or want a destination with cold beer and great food and a GREAT garden bar 🍻👍🏻
h.Nice surrounds, hostesses were pleasant, food was lukewarm, we were hungry so only let them know halfway through, they did offer to reheat. Would visit again to see if we struck a bad night.

J.We ate here 2 nights in a row. Had friendly and efficient service both nights, with a great selection of local wines and yummy food. The seafood chowder & garlic rolls are as delicious as the blue cod. Highly recommended, will be back!

T.Lovely, cheery place. Authentic South Island country pub. I think. I'm not from around here. But hey: the food was good, the Speight's was Speight's, the patrons were all locals near as I could tell, and they even whipped up a dish that wasn't on the menu for our vegan friend. Great little surprise.

J.Lovely old building, we dropped in for coffee in the late morning and it was dead and unfortunately the coffee was awful. I suspect this place is a great pub in the evenings but avoid if you're after a good coffee.
