N.Great location. Friendly staff. Very clean and tidy. Safe and secure. Great value for money. Four square across the road and Chinese takeaway as well. Good wifi. Comfy beds.
I would stay here again and for the price it is a great option.
K.Great hostel, beds are okay, very clean kitchen which was great to use and has all you need to cook, a lot of long-termers here however they were very friendly and social. We enjoyed playing games in the evenings.

C.Good little hostel. Really warm and welcoming. People are respectful and clean.
The kitchen is well furnished and big enough for everyone. There are a lot of different pans and ustensils. Seasoning and oil are offered. I loved the fact that there was a free food bin and they do compost.
The rooms are big enough for the number of people. There was a keddle in my room and a sink which was practice.
Showers are clean, bathrooms also. Nice lady at the office and they always pickup the phone when you call.
E.The room we stayed was clean and tidy (twins). The place is quiet and there weren't many people staying there. Toilets seemed clean, and the showers are warm, strong and amazing. Customer service could've been a bit better. The manager was really friendly though.
Unfortunately the wifi was out of reach inside our room, so we had to go outside or stay in the living room to access it.
Overall we had a great experience there.

S.This hostle is an amazing gem to find when Staying in Gisborne! It is spotless, ammodates for everyone and the kitchen is beautiful! Absolutely one of the cleanest hostles I have been in. The owners are super welcoming and very knowledgeable about traveling New Zealand. Ended up going back to it multiple times when I was in the area because how at home it felt! Oh yeah it's a 5 minute or less walk to the start of downtown area.
R.1 of the nicer YHA's I have come across. It's not too big so has a cosy atmosphere. Our room was a nice size with a sofa. There is a big kitchen, lounge with tv and outside seating area. There it's lots of area to park and it's reasonable close to town.
Good value backpacker place.
B.Probably five star for YHA hostel. I usually stay at a proper hotel
