A.Everything was super clean really nice spacious rooms, you could get bigger or smaller double rooms. The manager treated us well, with a really nice room, as we stayed 4 nights then came back, which was kind of him. Greymouth is suffering with the lack of tourists, so nice and quiet, not good for business though! It is slightly further from town if you don't have a car, but very quiet.
N.Stayed here for 4 nights. Loved how every inch of the place displayed a wide variety of cultural art. Very cosy lounge with many board games and they have netflix too. Definitely will stay here again if we go to Greymouth again!
M.Check this place out. They call themselves Global village and they mean it. It's covered in art from cultures all around the world. And it was very cheap for the stay. Full kitchen and WiFi and towels provided for showers.
T.Lovely place-beautifully decorated with a array of indigenous art. But what makes it absolutely outstanding is the customer service; Russell not only picked us up and dropped us off, he arranged for myPLB which had been left behind, to be sent to Punakiaki where I was staying after Paparoa. Thank you Russell.

Bedroom was lovely, and the manager made sure it was warm for me. Shown me around so I knew where everything was. The place as awesome character also. Thank you for making my stay so relaxing! 😊
V.What an awesome place. Very helpful hosts, with a pick up from the train and useful recommendations. Really interesting decor, super clean and well organised. Comfy, warm room and even a hottie (water bottle that is 😊).

S.Homey, cozy, and clean. This is THE hostel you want to stay. It’s worth to visit Greymouth to stay at this hostel. The kitchen has a lot of space, bathrooms are always nice and clean, rooms are useful and comfortable. You’ll see lots of arts too.
J.Years and years and years ago I had the privilege to stay here and encountered some of the finest people, greatest Resort Manager and Owner that are friendly, lovable and downright humble. They make you feel like family and the whole accomodation are well cared for. The rooms are aired every day after a new occupant leaves, bedsheets are changed and the common room are crowded at night with plenty of things to do and people to chat with. It was a great place to stay admist a rustic humble town.
J.Stayed here for a night and it's the perfect getaway space! Accommodating with nice living space, laundry, full kitchen, and plenty of parking. Close to town and hikes nearby. Host knows all the good local spots! Rooms are clean and the space has a fun quirky vibe to it. Recommend it for any nomad!
E.Really nice hostel. Pretty quirky with loads of African-themed art and paintings. Big, clean kitchen & eating area. Nice chill-out area with a wood burning stove for cold evenings. Owners were friendly. A bit of a walk from the centre of town, but would definitely recommend.

P.Lovely backpacker. One of my fav in New Zealand I think. Many activities is available (gym room, sauna, bike, etc...). The dorm room is nice & quiet. The kitchen and living room are nice. You can spend time very easily.
T.This is the best hostel I've stayed in yet. Clean, relaxed, spacious, lots to do, a bit of bush and a little stream right next to you that you can take a free kayak out on. Good kitchen, spa, sauna, great stuff. No complaints.
T.Nice and lovely backpacker hostel. They put a lot of effort into the decoration. Room, bathroom and kitchen are very clean. Only the walls were not soundproofed. Nevertheless, we had a perfect, relaxed stay. :)

B.By far one of the best, if not the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Immaculately clean, interesting international theme, relaxed atmosphere and just all around a great place to be. Wish I could have stayed longer. Added bonus having charging cubes in the communal area. They even have a hot tub out back!

C.The place is very interesting with lots of exotic decoration, I like all the details and information they offered in the house. Kitchen has everything you need, even more than what I expected. The shower room and toilet are clean, water is hot and enough for a comfortable shower. Really like the time I spent here!

i.There was a lovely tranquil atmosphere which is laid down by the calm, peaceful and thoughtful owners. We had a spacious double room with a balcony and enjoyed the shared lounge and we'll stocked kitchen. The hostel is the perfect oasis in the midst of the storm outside! Thank you for the great hospitality and thoughtful touches - dry bike storage, washdown area, scrupulously clean environment, cosy woodburner and loan of an umbrella

W.One of the best hostels in the world and I've seen a lot! Everything is clean, the dorms and private rooms are beautiful decorated. Very friendly staff. The kitchen is big and clean. When my husband and I were on the road for 6 months, this place felt like coming home. There is absolutely nothing interesting about Greymouth. Except this hostel. We even returned, just to stay here.
The common room is cozy and comfortable. The perfect place to read a book, sit in front of the fire and make friends to play a game with. This is no party hostel. Just a place to feel home. And because of that homey atmosphere, it feels like every guest in there is your new family member!
Can't wait to come back one day.
C.A really lovely and quirky place, but one of the nicest places I stayed in during my visit to NZ. Lovely rooms, really friendly staff, and a big chunk of free WiFi if you need it. I took advantage of the free kayaks and went out for a row around out to the marina. The whole place has a really nice theme, with African, Maori and other sculptures all around the place and in rooms. Definitely a great place to stay!
G.This place was oozing with character and style, while at the same time being immaculately clean and having all the amenities that you didn't know you needed (netflix room, bike shed, hot tub, etc) the owners were the super helpful, full of suggestions about where to eat and things to do around town. A destination in itself.
E.The space is unique and the people are kind. We had no problems while staying here for a night. The rooms are quiet and the bathrooms were well taken care of. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking a well priced place to stay. You also can't beat the free WIFI, decorations or the large common areas.
C.Warm and cozy in this cold weather. Host picked us up from the train and gave us ideas where to eat and what to do along the way. We had a private room. Very clean and tidy. Kitchen and dining room , and showers good. Has a tv/movie room with Netflix. Went for a short walk round the Kowhai trail thats close to the hostel where we saw birds and ducks. Would come back again.
R.Very nice hostel in Greymouth. It is a little out of the city center, but there are free bikes to get around. African themes can be seen in and around the hostel and the lounge area has a relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen was one of the best equiped and organized I have seen. The staff is friendly and helpful as well!
P.This is the best backpackers I've stayed at in NZ. It's fun & funky, but super-clean and comfortable. Russell and Yuri are low-key but welcoming hosts. There's free bike and kayak hire, and a spa pool for a few dollars. Global Village is a perfect base for your West Coast adventures.

Really enjoyed my stay at Global Village, I only wished I could stay longer... everything has been so well considered, it's clear that a lot of love has gone into this place. I.This place is awesome and made me feel at home. It is very pretty with a lot of sweet decorations all over the place. Big plus is the free kayaking and bikes. This hostel makes the trip to greymouth worth it!

The decoration is amazing and very unique (which is pretty rare in a backpackers). All the rooms are clean and well equipped, from the bedroom (with a light and a socket for each bed, storages to put your stuff), to the kitchen and the bathroom (there's even a hairdryer - girls who travel will understand). And the washing machine is cheaper than most of the other backpackers in New Zealand.
You can also borrow bikes or even kayaks.
It's about 4 minutes walk to the New World.
I'll highly recommend this place !

T.Absolutely incredible place! I wish I had more time to stay here! They have so many bonuses that most places wouldn’t or would charge you for! They have kayaks for free use in the channel & tide lake near by, bikes & locks for free use! Even a campfire circle. They even have a dry Sauna for $5 for 30mins, if I had stayed longer I would have been all over that! Beautiful hostel, very neat & clean, great kitchen area, and in a gorgeous area. If I ever pass through this area again I will definitely be staying here. Oh also! They will pick you up & drop you off at the train/bus stop if needed! For FREE!! Thanks for being amazing Gobal Village! HIghly Recommend.

S.Yuri was warm and welcoming when I arrived after hitching into town from Arthur's Pass NP. The warm and eclectic atmosphere was a welcomed change from being in the bush for extended periods of time. Free wifi upon arrival, warm bedrooms, well maintained amenities, even a jacuzzi you can hire for $5/45min. Thank you for welcoming hiker trash into your amazing hostel. J.THE BEST hostel I've stayed in , in New Zealand! we arrived late after hitch hiking from Abel Tasman with no booking, and they couldn't be be more accomodating! Also the receptionist makes amazing muffins! Thankyou for the hospitality. Will highly recommend this hostel to others !

J.This place is epic. To nice to be a hostel and such an uplifting place compared to the city it's in. Filled with African and Asian art it feels like a lodge somewhere in Zimbabwe. Camping in the yard is possible, courtesy kayaks and bikes available, free unlimited wifi, book a sauna, fitness room or jacuzzi for just $5. I would honestly just visit this city just for this hostel.
Only negative was that none of the guests talked to each other. You could be in a room full of people and no one spoke. But this is not something you can blame on the hostel of course.
A.It's one of the hostels I've liked the most. It's really peaceful. I'm really into calm places where you can sit and read. And this is a great place if you want do do that or you jus want to enjoy the hot tub.

It is/was one of the best hostel I stayed in since I am travelling for the last 6 months. There is just one big thing wich is a important thing in my eyes its the wifi. It is a 'ok-wifi' but I had no connection to the wifi in my dorm room. But all in all i would say its a must do when you are planing to stayed in greymouth. Very lovely and the manager is very nice! He shows you all important spots of greymouth on a map.

The tribal / safari theme is held throughout the premises perfectly, even down to an actual box that powers the internet for 30 minutes after insertion of a coin! To the public PC that is. The WiFi is the fastest I've experienced in the whole country so far! 40 Mbps down and 50 up!
Everything is explained thouroughly by posted documents across the walls. Kind staff. Everything is clean. There are books to read, basic board games, a guitar and piano to play.... The list goes on!
L.The place is cozy and feel like home. So relax and conveinece with kitchen and full of room for having a good meal. In the hall is full of sofa,books and fews desktops for you to review or research that needed. Great love it.

R.(Translated) One of the most amazing places I have ever stayed. The place is very well decorated, beautiful, organized and clean. Everywhere there are explanations of how each room works, such as kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedrooms, laundry, etc. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are wonderful, super comfortable, cozy, clean and beautiful with decorations and paintings on the walls. The kitchen is large, well organized and very beautiful! Several people can cook at the same time. The bathroom is extremely clean, beautiful and spacious. Even a hairdryer. They provide bicycles and kayaks for free, with all the operation explained on plates for better understanding. The laundry is organized and easy to use, if you don't want to buy washing powder at the market, they sell a single wash sachet at the reception. If you need a bus to the nearby cities (Intercity), they make the appointment at the hostel, without charging anything more. I didn't use it, but there is a gym, sauna and spa at the hostel for those interested. I thought it was cool that there are instruments in the living room to play if anyone wants to. And they sell handicrafts from various cultures around the world, very interesting. The whole place is decorated with decorations from different cultures. And they also have a very friendly and dear gray cat, hehe.

Um dos lugares mais incríveis que já me hospedei. O lugar é muito bem decorado, muito bonito, organizado e limpo. Em todos os lugares tem explicações de como funciona cada cômodo como cozinha, banheiro, sala de estar, quartos, lavanderia e etc. Os funcionários são bem receptivos e amigáveis. Os quartos são maravilhosos, super confortáveis, aconchegantes, limpos e bonitos com decorações e pinturas nas paredes. A cozinha é grande, bem organizada e muito bonita! Várias pessoas podem cozinhar ao mesmo tempo. O banheiro é extremamente limpo, bonito e espaçoso. Até secador de cabelo tem. Eles disponibilizam bicicletas e caiaques de graça, com todo o funcionamento explicado em placas para melhor entendimento. A lavanderia é organizada e de fácil utilização, caso não queira comprar sabão em pó no mercado, eles vendem na recepção um sachê para lavagem única. Caso seja preciso um ônibus para as cidades próximas (Intercity), eles fazem o agendamento no hostel mesmo, sem cobrar nada a mais. Eu não utilizei, mas existe academia, sauna e spa no hostel para os interessados. Achei legal que existem instrumentos na sala de estar para tocar caso alguém queira. E eles vendem artesanatos de várias culturas ao redor do mundo, bem interessante. O local todo é decorado com decorações de diferentes culturas. E eles tem também um gato cinza muito amigável e querido, hehe.
