It offers a beautiful atmosphere with lots of attention for detail. Kate is an absolute delightful host. It's a serene and quiet spot. There are hammocks, games, a great lounge for rainy days. Facilities are pristine. We will definitely come back another time

A fabulous spot. Peaceful and tranquil. Very Clean facilities . 4 powered spaces.. non powered.. a cute as caravan to hire. A house to rent.. yoga also available. Kate your host is lovely and super helpful and knowledgeable. 100% recommend

Katie (owner, host) accomdated us without a booking at a very busy time, Facilities were clean and well stocked with lots of thoughtful additions for cyclists. Katie went well out of her way to help us after I had an injury and was extremely helpful in a stressful situation. Would definitely stay again!

What a cool little place in the bush, we stayed in our camper and used the facilities, shower was excellent, new fittings, hot water, good pressure. Such quaint little buildings, little signs and sayings around the place, everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. Kate was a very friendly host.

What an awesome place 2 stay, clean, relaxing and peaceful. Stayed in the caravan which was perfect for a couple of nights away or passing through. Lovely host, highly recommend this place.

Lovely Accommodation! Kate is so friendly and welcoming. Restrooms were clean and pleasant and the outdoor dining/seating area was lovely! Great tent sites. It was hard to sleep with some roosters nearby but I tuned them out and it kind of added to the feel of it all so I didn’t mind much.

Kate is a warm and welcoming host. We had the whole villa to ourselves. Enjoyed freshly laid free range eggs. Comfortable bed, every area was so clean and tidy.Free parking. Great shower. Highly recommend

Really nice, little place! I stayed here twice and liked it both times. Great camping with hammocks and benches in the garden, but there is also a dorm (with comfy beds!), family room and private house to be rented - a place for everyone so to speak! And if you are lucky you may join a yoga class on top! I can only recommend a stay here if you are in the area.

Loved the little caravan, nice wee spot, peaceful atmosphere

Probably the best stop of our 2-week camping trip, for 3 weary travellers in need of a proper bed sleep. The place was just oozing with small touches that Kate has worked tirelessly to add, and the result is a beautiful property fit out with everything you could possibly need, sprinkled with small details of quaint charm, and two adorable dogs to top it all off. Actually somewhat upset that we don't live closer to Kumara, so that we could "retreat" here regularly. Thanks so much for the amazing stay, Kate. Your facilities are truly top notch.

Perfect place To relax, play and cook !!! The atmosphere is full of positive vibes. It's really cute and has everything to be happy - hammock, darts, plenty other games, cosy lounge and fully furnished outside kitchen we loved it.

Kate was so accommodating! My friend and I had been tenting around NZ for the last couple of weeks and were ready to sleep in a bed for an evening. The booking was very last minute, but she had everything ready by the time we got there. We stayed in the camper and it was adorable! Hot showers, accessible kitchen that has pots, pans, bowls, etc. Wifi was available. Definitely a must stay if you are in the area!

I’m so glad we discovered this little piece of heaven! A very clean and warm shower. A nice large cooking area with tea available. There is also a den to hangout in which was fortunate for a very rainy day. Kate is lovely.

Such an awesome wee spot. So much thoughtful care to detail and travellers needs. Clean , nice beds, lived the garden and art. Helpful and warm host. Will come again

I stayed at Greenstone Retreat for one night and it was just amazing, really! Quiet, clean, comfortable,... There is everything you need for cooking, hot showers, common areas are cosy and warm and the place is so peaceful! Highly recommended.

Lovely place, very clean, now has massage and yoga room. We stayed in the villa and loved the roaring fire. Make this your place to stop on the Wilderness Trail

We parked up here for the night with our campervan! Was really amazing - a lovely place to relax if you have a “day off” from hiking! Facilities are brilliant too.

If you don't want to park up with 1/2 the world...….this is the place, an oasis of calm and quiet. Beautiful secluded pitches with power for campervans/caravans, and tent pitches, communal kitchen if reqd, spacious lovely showers and loos. Bachs/Cribs also available...all set off the west coast road near Greymouth in shady woodland, with a lovely garden. Kate the owner ( we always call it "Kate's Place",) makes you very welcome and comfortable. If you are in the area, this has to be the choice stop...…...

We stayed for a night in the villa - was an absolute treat! Clean, warm and cosy - Kate is a relaxed and welcoming host. If you can, definitely take advantage of the morning yoga class..

Well set out ,villa is a real darling to stay in, clean n spiffy, owner / Manager lovely friendly person. 5 stars as that is all I can press would hv been 10 stars.

Beautifull place with really nice and charming owner. A lot off hammocks and one of the best showers of the south island. Perfect place if your on the TA bicycle track.

Wow! Beautiful place! Kate is very nice. We went there with campervan, 15 dollars per adult.

Character full retreat remininscent of asian backpackers .Very nice staff and have camping in the garden dorms van park ups and more.Free flowing kitchen and surrounded by bush.Bring a rain coat and gumboots for the wet coast.

The friendly, helpful owner/manager had put a lot of effort into improving the place. It was comfortable, clean and well-equipped.
