Good food and hospitality. After being treated poorly down the road at Mokihinui Pub (for no apparent reason other than asking what time the dinner menu started..), we left and thankfully found this friendly, sunny pub - the kids enjoyed their free chocolate fish too. We’ll be back next time we’re in the area! Thanks for upholding the reputation of the West Coast :)

Stopped into the Ngakawau Tavern for a quick drink when we rode to Hector/Ngakawau today. It's a cool old country pub with a cafe/fish & chips as well. My wife grabbed a coffee and I grabbed a beer. This is an old style pub setup which is nice and simple. Just what you need to enjoy a drink and watch some sport on the big screen. The locals and the staff were nice and friendly. Sat outside in the sun and enjoyed the drinks. Cool little spot to stop off on the way through to or from Karamea.

Excellent hospitality at the end of the Old Ghost Road and Charming Creek cycle way. Hot food, cold beer, fine single malt, hot showers and warm comfortable beds. Lives up to the good name of west coast hospitality. Really good value too!
