C.It wasn't terrible, but at the same time, unless it's summer, I'm not sure I'd stay there. The pod/chalet we stayed in was warm enough once the heater was switched on. The outdoor shower was an experience, especially if you're the type to shower in the evening. Other things to note, customer service wasn't quite what I was expecting. When we arrived at the office, the lady answered didn't greet us with "Hi welcome" or "How was your travel" or something basic like you would expect when checking in to a place, instead, she just opened the door to the office and kept repeating "Have you got a booking? Have you got a booking?". Then after we confirmed that we did, she asked us "Do you have money for booking?" which was odd because I had booked online, which we then reminded her of. Not terrible, but lots of things that could be improved.
P.OK place, clean, bit out of the way. Be wary of room and facility descriptions... bathroom does not mean en suite!!! Access to some rooms is pretty precarious up seriously steep stairs! Get your info more accurate so guests know what they're getting... other than that it's a good deal.
D.So cheap I wasn't sure what to expect, but the people running it are great. Room was small but tody and clean with clean sheets. Shared bathroom was fine. Excellent value for money.
P.This out-of-the-way, back-to- nature hideaway is inspirational.. About 10 minutes out of Hamilton, the new cabins under the pines are clean, cosy, delightful. The semi open showers are build around large pine trees, offering a view and an experience rarely afforded to most..( maybe chilly in winter..but worth it) There are sheep and chickens, a well appointed shared kitchen area and lounge. Very hospitable hosts, I would recommend staying here over a place in town for the uniqueness of it.
S.The chalet was nice and cosy. The facilities reflect the price though, including an outdoor shower (a bit chilly in winter). Would definitely use again.
M.Thank you for a lovely peaceful stay so close to the busy Hamilton. We needed a place to accomodate our housetruck full of goods and this lodge served us well. A little tlc needed in the room but otherwise very comfortable. Kia ora
R.They need to check rooms better for lost stuff an have a lost property inside we left our pillow I drove back 1hour later to find sitting outside like um hmmmm although it's a great cheap place owners are sweet walls are very thin can hear everything from other guests staying comfy bed warm clean tidy nice showers toilets etc should start supplying coffee tea an small milk after a long drive you want a cuppa an get back in car drive 10 more mins for supplys shows in pictures there is pool nope it's filled with murky water waaaa
J.Nice place, maybe a lack of cleanless in the shared place. I was on a sigle room, and the people upstair were really noisy shame that the roof doesn't absorb the sounds better
S.In renovation now but I liked doing drive range practice there. Also has mino golf and planning to go with kids in summer.
B.Interesting experience, you get what you pay for. Not recommended for winter as showers are outdoors and open to the sky.
H.Lovely secluded and quite space, great if you have a car otherwise it's a trek to the bus stop.
