Reviews of Hawthorne House
If you're seeking exceptional hospitality, a welcoming atmosphere, and an unforgettable vibe, this is the place to stay. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our three-night visit. From the warm welcome by Peter and Paul (complete with amazing canapés and drinks) to the beautifully appointed and comfortable rooms, every detail exceeded our expectations. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and the service was second to none. If 10 stars were an option, that would be our rating. We highly recommend this experience!
Amazing place to stay. A home which is tastefully decorated with wonderful art and furnishings. Our room was gorgeous with everything we needed down to a mini fridge with beverages and tea and coffee making facilities. The accommodation offers privacy whilst also having the ability to feel very at home throughout the house. A wonderful stay in the Hawke’s Bay and Peter are Paul are the best hosts you could ask for, hopefully be back soon.
Peter and Paul surely set the standard for premium Bed and Breakfast accommodation... the villa and gardens are beautiful and the hospitality outstanding. What a wonderful, charming, luxurious way to spend a few days in glorious Hawke's Bay.
Peter and Paul, our hosts, were two very interesting fellows and what’s more, they made us feel that we were every bit as interesting as they were. I don’t know when, if ever, we will be back in the Hawkes Bay region, but if we return we will definitely try to stay at Hawthorne House again. Beautiful gardens and grounds and a historic older home and setting.
What an amazing sleep! Super comfy bed and premium blackout velvet curtains meant we slept in past our breakfast time. Nevertheless, our accommodating hosts served us a superb full breakfast/brunch.
This B&B is a luxurious retreat and recent renovations have preserved its heritage values whilst adding designer flair. The extensive gardens are beautiful and assisted our deep relaxation during our long weekend in the sunny Hawke’s Bay.
Hawthorne House is perfectly located close to Hastings and Havelock North so it’s no problem dining out and catching taxis/ubers afterwards. All of this can be arranged and logistics talked through during the first night drinks and canapés served on the deck.
Deeply satisfied! Thanks for a great stay.
As hosts Peter and Paul excel at making you feel comfortable and ensuring your stay is an enjoyable one. We loved the fact that they live on site and the house felt lived in while still delivering on style and outstanding comfort. Their attention to detail made the stay for my wife and I neither wanting nor needing anything extra. The breakfast with the blend of homegrown and local supplies was simply divine and showed their ability to make sure it all complimented the house. We enjoyed the food and wine package that they put together and can see why they use these venues - simply outstanding. Given the opportunity we will be back to take pleasure in the unique experience and environment.
Peter and Paul what an amazing experience you have created. Wonderful accommodation, food and personal service. An outstanding experience and a must stay when you are next in the Hawke’s Bay.
What a fantastic place and great hosts. We felt at home with Paul and Peter and enjoyed getting to know the other guests during our stay! The perfect amount of privacy and social time. The house is beautifully adorned and the cooked breakfasts were our favorite in New Zealand. We were lucky that Peter and Paul know everyone in the area as they helped us with reservations at tough to get in places and general ideas on how we could spend our time in the area.
We had an incredible stay at Hawthorne House. Peter and Paul are the best hosts, so warm and welcoming and full of great recommendations. They were even able to book us at a restaurant we couldn’t get into on our own. The rooms are very comfortable with many thoughtful details like complimentary snacks, wines, nice toiletries etc. The art and decor throughout is beautiful and interesting. The gardens are so lovely. Finally, they source the freshest local ingredients and make delicious breakfasts with them! We highly recommend staying here and hope to be back someday!
We couldn’t talk highly enough about our Hawthorne House experience. From the first greeting to the takeaway breakfast bag because of our early departure, the whole HOME environment was just perfect. The little extra touches, like the handwritten welcome note, outstanding breakfast, beautiful rooms and gardens well and truly exceeded our expectations. Hosts Peter & Paul are exceptional in all aspects of making your stay one to remember.
Being returning guests we knew our 2 night stay would be great… and it was. Peter and Paul are amazing hosts, nothing is ever too much trouble. Our room was beautifully decorated with views across the private gardens. We will be back again !!
Such a beautiful setting! Greeted by the most gracious hosts, Paul and Peter. Their home is a collection of beautiful art pieces, purposefully displayed, all with treasured stories. The rooms are so comfortable and beautiful and every detail has been thought of to make a guest feel welcomed. On arrival, a welcome cocktail with canapés lets you get to know Paul and Peter and hear their wonderful stories. Their homemade breakfast, starts with homemade granola and yogurt followed by local bakery croissants that are freshly baked at Hawthorne House with home made preserves. That should be enough, but then you are served eggs from their own chickens! If there were 10 stars, that would be our rating. Thank you!
Exceptional stay at Hawthorne House from the friendly greeting & introduction to the stunning homestead and grounds where no expense has been spared in providing quality in every aspect.
The Hosts - Peter & Paul shared their immense local knowledge that enabled us to have a lovely dining experiences.
We very much enjoyed their amazing art collection & their stories.
The room we stayed in had beautiful decor, the most comfortable bed & quality bed linen.
The breakfast was also exceptional using locally sourced, fresh products.
Hawthorne House is a perfect 10 in every way & we can only thank Peter & Paul for providing us with such a lovely experience and cannot wait to return.
If you would like to stay in a residence that has character, charm and style then do not miss Hawthorne House. It is not bland, it is not beige but rather it is full of delights. Peter and Paul are the most wonderful hosts - charming and mischievous in equal measure. And did I mention the exquisite breakfasts? I adored my stay at Hawthorne House and I hope you do too.
Stunning home in a beautiful location on the edges of the vineyards of Napier. Remarkable combination of hospitality, comfort, art appreciation and a genuine interest in assisting guests in finding that perfect activity or vendor that will make a visit to Hawke’s Bay memorable. Breakfast is a personalized menu with the freshest locally sourced ingredients served with conversation on methods to optimize your visit. Paul & Peter take a hands on approach in welcoming you, sharing the history of their community home and warmly hosting a gathering of new friends around their table. I suspect we would never have booked the restaurants we dined in, or the adventures we explored without their connections and counsel.
Nothing can beat Peter and Paul’s B&B in Hastings. My husband and I arrived at their beautiful spot - tucked in among a beautiful little garden. They are the 2 kindest, warm, witty and friendliest hosts we have ever met. They were very helpful with passing along great knowledge of the area- where to eat, what to see, even helping us get there with their driver. It was lovely getting to know them at their welcome drink the first night and wow! Their breakfast was like none I have ever had ! Their attention to detail and customer service beats anywhere we have been. We wish we could have stayed longer ! You HAVE TO stop here….you will be so glad you did !
Peter and Paul are the loveliest hosts you can imagine. The house is a perfect combination of art and comfort, you feel at home immediately. Lots of little details which makes your stay perfect. You get help and information, recommendations for activities and dinner
I had the most amazing stay at Hawthorne House

Certainly an improvement on hotel room's
It was warm with beautiful bedding and a lovely country outlook
The hospitality with Pete and Paul was as good as you will find
Lots of care and attention to detail I felt very at home in their company

I received such a warm welcome at Hawthorne House and my hosts were the epitome of hospitality. A gorgeous home filled with beautiful artworks and charm. My room and ensuite were beautifully furnished, the bed was extremely comfortable and the three course breakfasts were a delicious highlight.
What an experience lies ahead for you, your friends and your family when you book a stay at Hawthorne House. Centrally located in the Bay making access to any of the spectacular and varied activities on offer a short and pleasant drive. The decor and hospitality was incredible and Peter and Paul know how to welcome you in style. Rooms are placed off the grand hallway allowing you your own private view of the grounds to be enjoyed from your spacious suite. We will be back for sure and just wish we had made the trip to Hawthorne sooner. 10/10
This is an almost magical place. From the warmest of welcomes with a potted history of the stunning house, to the amazing breakfast, everything was wonderful. Peter and Paul are the perfect hosts. The rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. If you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t come here!
A simply sensational 3 nights at Hawthorne House.
Peter and Paul were brilliant hosts, and their luxury Hawkes Bay house is simply beautiful. From our stunning room, amazing artwork throughout the house inside and outside, stunning decor combined with beautiful gardens we were in for a wonderful treat.
Breakfast was superb and so much fun; laughter was forever present which is so good for the sole.
Such a pleasure to stay at Hawthorne House and spend time with its incredible host owners Peter and Paul who helped craft us such an amazing stay in the beautiful Hawkes Bay.
Absolutely exceptional stay at Hawthorne House. Peter and Paul are the perfect compliment to each other and made our group of 8 feel right at home. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are exquisite and the food top notch. We will be back!!!
Hawthorne House is the perfect spot to rest and recharge. The home is full of visual delights with a stunning collection of art, and the hosts ensure that you feel welcomed from the very first moment. Breakfast is an absolute treat - beautiful fresh food, all locally sourced and served with Paul and Peters special brand of manaaki. The rooms are very comfortable - perfect for an afternoon nap and an early morning cup of tea in bed! Every detail has been thought of, so you don't have to do any thinking for yourself... except perhaps where to eat and what sights to take in! Absolutely 5 stars, recommend this for anybody looking for a special break away.
We spent 4 nights at this elegant and welcoming place. Paul and Peter have been such great hosts - helping out on short notice dinner reservations, great tips what to visit or preparing a fantastic breakfast. For us it was a great location to explore Hawkes Bay and to experience this coming home feeling at Hawthorne House after a long day out.
I didn't think it would be possible to have the perfect get away but Hawthorne House is it. The venue is superbly appointed with unbelievable art and ambience and hosts Peter and Paul could not be more welcoming and accommodating.
They know all the best local spots and generously shared their recommendation which we availed ourselves of all weekend.
Truly, there is no better place to be pampered while feeling very much at home.
We stayed here for two nights and our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer. Peter and Paul are so welcoming- we felt like we were visiting treasured friends. Our first night they hosted cocktails and canapés in their beautiful living room and gave us all sorts of local intel for restaurants etc. They made a reservation for us in town at Mary’s and arranged transportation so we didn’t have to drive. The house is out of a magazine, every wall thoughtfully curated with stunning art. And finally the breakfast was delicious. Served in their dining room, beautifully set with fine china, breakfast consisted of locally made yogurt and berries to start, followed by homemade croissants and eggs made to order. Hawthorne was definitely a highlight for us!
Because of a glowing recommendation from a friend, our three night stay at Hawthorne House came with big expectations. It turned out to be one of those happy occasions where expectations were surpassed. Our room was gorgeous, as was the entire inn. Peter and Paul had us at Hello. They were great fun to sip wine with and engage with over their wonderful breakfasts. They were also a great source of information for local dining and wine tours. Bonus…we got to participate with them in a Hawkes Bay promotional video that was shot at the Inn during our stay. Hated to leave.
We had a wonderful weekend exploring wineries and restaurants and Hawthorne House was the perfect base . We had a beautiful peaceful room with super comfortable beds and charming hosts .
totally fabulous weekend.. left wanted for nothing... Peter & Paul are amazing hosts
Such a stunning, relaxing venue. The most beautiful gardens ... with the addition of the two alpacas, pigs and even an opportunity to feed the chickens. Love the decks outside the bedroom for quiet private time to enjoy the surroundings. We also met some really lovely people who were also staying - at the lovely welcome drinks and breakfast.
Peter and Paul have the best recommendations and contacts, they read us really well and managed to get us into some great experiences. From wine tours, cycling, walks, beautiful restaurants and casual cafes to the Sunday markets ! Definitely a special stay, we will be back - and for longer. Thanks !
My wife and I cant say enough positives about Hawthorne House. The host are so friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are great and breakfast was delicious. This is a wonderful place to stay in Hawkes Bay. Highly recommend
We had a fantastic weekend stay with Peter and Paul at Hawthorne House with ten friends. It is a serene place with wonderful gardens, very peaceful and relaxing, large immaculately presented bedrooms so we felt we had our own little oasis amongst the group. Their interior decoration is very engaging with many surprises. Peter and Paul are consummate hosts, generous and welcoming which enhanced the whole experience. Highly recommended!
Apologies for this late review of our visit to Paul and Peter in October 2022. The main reason is that I don't like to write reviews, but in this case I should.
Really great, their beautifully decorated house, their enthusiasm and not to forget the excellent breakfast. Moreover, they are willing to help and inform you about interesting places to explore.
What a fantastic weekend we had at Hawthorn House. Peter and Paul arranged it all with wine tasting at Smith & Seths, a long lunch at Craggy Range , A fantastic “Trust the chef” dinner with wine pairing at Celler 495 and lux transport between events to take away any stress of driving. Their home is very well appointed and it was a real pleasure to stay. Thanks Peter & Paul for make us feel welcome and at home. Alan & Sharyn.
This is amazing B&B. The host are friendly and so knowledgeable of the area. They went out of there way to make sure we had a great visit to Hawke's Bay. Highly Recommend this place. You will not be dissatisfied[ointed with the breakfast and wine hour in the evening!
What an amazing experience!
We chose Hawthorne House because of it’s beautifully restored, tastefully decorated rooms, wonderful gardens and excellent location but what really makes this place special are Peter and Paul the amazing owners! Nothing is too much trouble. They are amiable, knowledgeable and so welcoming. You really feel like you are staying with friends. The delicious breakfast each morning (of quality, locally-sourced produce) was a real highlight. We are definitely looking forward to returning. Don’t look any further! This is the place to stay!!!
An exceptional experience. A wonderful homestead, delightfully restored. Fantastic breakfast. And 2 wonderful hosts , Peter and Paul. Thank you for a memorable stay gents. Can't wait to visit again.
Try as we might we just couldn't find fault with anything lol. Peter and Paul are terrific hosts and made us feel so welcome from the off. Breakfasts were terrific as was the help with restaurant, taxi and tour bookings/suggestions that they provided. Keep it up guys!
Peter and Paul the hosts make you feel like their incredible home and impeccable taste is yours to enjoy. Helpful, convivial and polished hosts, the stay was wonderful. They are well connected to the community and knowledgeable about all the region has to offer and more than happy to assist in bookings and arrangements. This is a place to return to!
Thank you Peter and Paul for hosting us at your gorgeous house, everything was just perfect! Loved all your art, styling, Crown Lynn, Murano every detail was so carefully curated. The wine, dine, stay package was fantastic, the breakfast's were simply outstanding. We will be back with friends next time! Cheers! Matt and Vanessa
I’ve never stayed anywhere with better service, wonderful art collection, interior design, food…the list goes on. I left feeling rested and happy. Just book this delightful BnB asap. ♥️
My stay at Hawthorne House was fantastic, it exceeded any expectations I had. The hosts Peter and Paul were wonderful, so welcoming and between the breakfast with the birds singing out on the deck, evening drinks with lots of laughter and the most comfortable beds you could imagine this is the best accommodation I have ever experienced.
It was an absolute delight to stay here. Thank you so much Peter and Paul. Such a beautiful place with so much style from the hosts. Loved having drinks all together on the first night and oh wow what a breakfast. We had such a relaxing time in our room with the garden view, in love with the high ceilings and surrounding nature. Thank you for such good recommendations around the area.
Exceptional homestead that has been delighfully and luxuriously restored. We were welcomed by our wonderful hosts and impressed by their humor, knowledge and patience. A fantastic and generous breakfast set us up for each of our days there. We were sad to leave. A memorable experience, and we'll be back!
We arrived at Hawthorne house on Sunday to be welcomed by Peter and given a short history of the house which was very interesting. The room we were given was gorgeous with lovely decor and windows on two sides giving a view of the beautiful grounds. The bed was very comfy too. Peter & Paul hosted a drinks and canape reception for new guests with a choice of wine and beers. It gave us an opportunity to meet the other guests and was very convivial. Breakfast was included and the muesli dish with fresh fruit compote and yoghurt was delicious followed by a cooked breakfast and the biggest crispiest croissants I have ever tasted. We dined nearby in Havelock North which had a choice of excellent restaurants and the reports back from all the guests were good. On Monday evening as we went to bed Cyclone Danielle was just warming up and by the morning after a night of torrential rain, thunder and lightening we opened our curtains to a scene of damage and water. A huge tree close by had been felled by the storm, power, phone and Wifi were gone and there was 10 inches of water around the house. Peter & Paul had candles lit on the table and around the hall both for light and Valentines day. They cooked on their gas rings and barbecue and despite the circumstances delivered a delicious breakfast. To top it all, as all the restaurants and shops were closed due to the Cyclone, they cooked us all a lunch (with wine) which was delicious and we all sat around chatting for the afternoon. Later they produced a light dinner (and wine) turning what could have been an awful experience into a quite a lovely one. Thanks again guys. A beautiful house with two amazing generous hosts. Go there.
We are very happy to recommend Hawthorne House. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, making us feel like friends of the family. The accomodation was sumptuously comfortable - so much so that we spent one day just relaxing in the garden, drinking wine and chatting. Finally the food was delicious, with generous portions that kept us going throughout our various touristy endeavours. Absolutely a delightful venue!
We had our second stay at Hawthorne house, for 2 nights and enjoyed it as much as our first.
Peter and Paul are wonderful hosts who have quickly become Hawkes Bay doyens of art, culture and fine food. Great advice of what to do, where to go and what to see in the area.
We have already decided on our room for our next stay! that should say it all :)
We stayed at Hawthorne House overnight, everything was fabulous from the moment Peter and Paul opened the door to greet us. Breakfast was amazing, rooms spotlessly clean and the house full of character and art. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you! Margaret
Peter and Paul were extremely accommodating, efficient, organised, jovial, warm and sharing hosts. The breakfast, nibbles and complimentary wine was extraordinary and it was a privilege and pleasure to be able to share their beautiful home. The meal recommendations were sincerely appreciated. A very comfortable and relaxing stay.
We had the best time in Hawthorne House, especially due to the care Peter and Paul gave us, lovely afternoon drinks, comfy rooms and beds, delicious breakfast and lots of conversation, tips where to go, making diner reservations for us etcetera. And having a lot of laughs. Definitely will go back if possible. Lots of love Ruud & Nancy
We stayed 4 nights at the fabulous Hawthorne House, this was truly one of the best places we have ever stayed in across NZ, the gourmet breakfast everyday was so delicious, it kept us going all day until dinnertime with no need for anything more other than a coffee. Paul and Peter are both top hosts, generous with their extra special touches, highly recommend this as a place to stay in the Hawkes Bay
Paul and Peter have created a luxurious yet relaxing environment with a spacious beautifully restored country house full of character with a breathtaking collection of art, elegant furniture and decor. The large rooms have every detail thought of and needed for a very comfortable stay with ensuite. Heated bathroom floor, generous snacks and complementary minibar. All around you, beauty, style, music, lovely large garden and the hosts ensure complete privacy while warmly welcoming you. They are charismatic and jovial and the generous full breakfast service is a symphony in itself! Crystal, linen, silver...and beautifully cooked with all local and organic produce .
We had our wedding anniversary and were looking for somewhere special to stay for 3 nights with access to the Hawkes Bay wineries... we couldn't have been happier choosing Hawthorne House with
fantastic hospitality in a stunning location with top amenities. Every little touch was outstanding including the many many artworks located around the house, the stunning gardens, lounge, breakfast areas, 5:30pm drinks and a magical breakfast each morning. Peter and Paul went out of there way to make our stay super special, and I understand they do that for all there guests!!
We can definitely recommend to anyone interested in staying in the Hawkes Bay as we've recommended to all of our friends already. We'll absolutely be back to stay at Hawthorne House to finish off the wineries that we didn't yet get to see and to take in the generous hospitality, access to the best breakfasts we've every had and indulge in the ample complementary local beverages in our room's bar fridge :-)
Honestly, stop overthinking it, just book it already - you won't regret it.
We had an absolutely blissful two night stay with Peter & Paul.
- The rooms are spacious, warm and incredibly comfortable.
- Complimentary in room snacks, wine, beer etc are much appreciated after long days!
- The breakfasts are fantastic - wherever possible everything locally sourced, and the croissants are fresh, authentic & delicious.
- The property is both beautiful and interesting - Peter & Paul did a wonderful job on the renovations, I may have made a few jokes that they should do a stocktake on the art after we left - such a fantastic collection that we really enjoyed viewing.
- You will ideally want to have a car as the location isn't really walking distance to many local attractions (and is off a high speed road), but for us this was more part of the appeal anyway - we wanted somewhere quieter with parking included, and driving wherever we wanted to go wasn't a problem at all.
Peter and Paul couldn't have been more hospitable, with welcome drinks on the evening of arrival, we had lots of interesting conversations and they went out of their way to make us feel at home. Money incredibly well spent, such a wonderful experience & any time we're back in the area we'll be staying here again!
Location is ideal to explore the Hawks Bay region, It is close to Havelock North, Hastings and any wineries in the area.
The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The Hosts are very attentive and willing to accommodate your needs. They will help you with suggestions of places to visit or wine and food, wineries or restaurants to try. Also they will organize other activities to fit your requirements either just relaxing by the fire in winter or in the beautiful surroundings of the gardens or be it something more energetic to make your stay enjoyable.
This was our 5th stay at Hawthorne House and we have no hesitation re commending a visit. The hosts have always been most obliging each time we have stayed, and they are very welcoming hence our repeated returns.
What a pleasure to stay at Hawthorne House. Paul and Peter are wonderful hosts; totally charming, helpful and they make really good recommendations about restaurants, vineyards and galleries. This is not old school B&B. The rooms are elegant and beautiful art is presented around the house. Breakfast is a “family” event with food cooked to order with lots of local products/produce used. The pre dinner drinks are a lovely touch. The house is surrounded by beautiful well maintained gardens.
Am I wildly enthusiastic about this place? Yes I am. I didn’t want to leave...sigh
Spectacular weekend spent relaxing and exploring Hawke's Bay's wineries, restaurants, art galleries and festivals, as well as the beautiful countryside. Our hosts are a fountain of local knowledge and able to recommend and book hard-to-access restaurants and other activities for us. The room was extremely comfortable and well-equipped, and included a very tasty and filling breakfast. The house decor is exceptional, full of art in both the common rooms and our bedroom suite. We enjoyed exploring the gardens and an early evening glass of wine with Paul and Peter.
Hawthorne House is in a beautiful setting with amazing interior design and artwork. The room had upscale bath room with plenty of toiletries, locally sourced and delicious snacks, cold drinks in the mini bar and lovely coffee. The hosts are so welcoming and attentive in every way. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, and great breakfast. Can’t wait to return.
Hawthorne House is fabulous. We loved our beautiful spacious well appointed room where every detail has been thought through. Peter and Paul are superb hosts and breakfast of local products was absolutely delicious. Thanks so much!
What a wonderful winter stay we had in The Mews at Hawthorne House. A beautiful rambling villa out in the country with an expansive garden to feel like you're actually getting a break, but close enough to get to Havelock North and Hastings within 10 minutes. Beautifully appointed and Peter and Paul are wonderful hosts. Thoroughly recommend.
Hawthorne House was a lovely venue for our small wedding in its beautifully kept gardens. We stayed two nights and hosts were super friendly and helpful. We loved the high quality furnishings and a classic setting. Also the pre-dinner drinks! It is a beautiful home, inside and out, which we happily recommend.
Hawthorne House is everything and more. This is truely a magnificent place to stay. Every room is beautifully decorated, it is open and spacious, warm and welcoming. The gardens and grounds are breath taking from the minute you turn into its beautiful driveway lined with grandeur trees. It is clear that the owners have poured a lot of love into this place, and there are thoughtful touches placed all through the property. This is inclusive of the food and beverages on offer which are all locally sourced. Our hosts shared great local knowledge and tips for the area during our stay, with so much on offer to explore close by. We felt very relaxed and refreshed after staying here, will definitely be returning :-)

We’ve had a great stay in the Karaki room at Hawthorne House.
The garden is wonderful
Peter and Paul are very kind, pleasant en helpful.
And the breakfast is delightful
Paul and Peter were terrific. We had a special stay at the Hawthorne House. Excellent accommodations, great company and food. Thank you!
6 of us stayed The Mews for weekend and what an amazing experience.
Anticipation and expectations were high and Hawthorne House delivered on every count. A slice of heaven is probably the most accurate way to describe it - the quality and style of the accommodation, the grounds, the supplied extras, the art and the wonderful hosts are unique.
I can't wait to return and if you want a world class yet superb NZ experience then treat yourself to as long as you can at Hawthorne House.
A beautifully restored historical home, filled to the brim with fantastic art & whimsical novelties. A quick drive away from the centre of Havelock North and other areas of interest in the Hawkes Bay. Peter and Paul are great hosts and really champion local boutique products. The breakfast fresh baked croissants and homemade jams were worth the trip alone! I recommend Hawthorne House to locals and international travellers looking to experience luxury hospitality without sacrificing home comfort.
Hawthorne House was the perfect location for our stay in the Hawkes Bay. Centrally located and a great base for the F.A.W.C weekend. Our Hawthorne House stay felt special, starting with the handwritten welcome note and gorgeous evening drinks in the stunning landscaped gardens. Our large and airy room was beautiful, with a super comfy bed, stunning art and lots of lovely little luxury touches that made our stay. We left today after a fabulous breakfast made with locally sourced produce and great local tips from Peter and Paul on where to go and what to do in the Hawkes Bay area. We can't wait to return, thank you Peter and Paul.
A really lovely property with lots of beautiful art work everywhere. Very comfortable rooms with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Fantastic breakfast with lots of local produce, and all topped off with wonderful hosts!
