Rooms are straight out of the 1970s, pretty nostalgic if you like that (I did). Dated but very well kept. Heating by way of 2 11-fin oil heaters, bathroom no heater or extractor fan. Very old school. However the price at $80 is appropriate when compared to the other motels, so pretty happy with it if you want a cheaper option (I'd call it a cheap but well-kept 3 star motel) Owners are nice as well. Recommended as a nice tidy budget option, priced about right.

It’s a classic motel, very nice. The bedding and bathroom were very clean. We stayed for 3 nights comfortably. The owners were very lovely and it seemed to be a family business. I would recommend for a nice stay in Waihōpai. I didn’t give it 5 stars as there is always room for improvements/upgrades but overall very nice.

I had booked and paid extra for a two bedroom suite. However when I arrived, it was only a one bedroom apartment. I approached the guy at reception, showed him my booking for a two bedroom. He didn't seem to care, just said he didn't know why that happened, and suggested that there is still a single bed in the lounge. I was too tired to argue so just went to sleep on a little single bed in the lounge :( The ONLY reason I booked a night here was because they advertised a two bedroom unit with a lounge. I would have stayed at a better motel if I just wanted one bedroom and a lounge. I felt the motel room was quite dated, although it was clean enough, the shower was warm, soap, towels, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk provided. Two big heaters and extra blankets ensured we were warm. Free Wifi, TV with Netflix in the lounge and in the bedroom. If you need a two bedroom apartment, you should call up prior to arriving to make sure they haven't sold it to someone else and bumped you down to a single.

I would prefer to pay a little extra for hotels. The motel rooms are quite dusty and there was dead spider on our bed under the sheets. Bathrooms are superficially cleaned only. The good thing was free netflix but really dont need it during a trip

Their genuine empathy and outstanding customer service made my experience truly memorable. Highly recommended for their exceptional hospitality!

Arrived an hour and a bit before check in but as our unit was serviced, were given the key to settle in. A bit of an incident next morning when the husband turned on the shower, turned his back but didn't note where the rose was pointing and damned near flooded the ensuite, had to use the towels to mop up. Approached the cleaning lady later and she provided an extra couple of old towels in case of a repeat performance. A little out of town but a very comfortable place to stay and reasonably priced. If ever back this way, will stay again. 👍

I absolutely loved my stay at the Bavarian motel!Jessica(the motel manager)was amazing to deal with and went above and beyond to make sure I had a really comfortable stay and was incredibly helpful as soon as I arrived.I arrived well before check in time and Jessica was very accommodating with early check in and late check out on my departure day.Jessica even dropped me off in the cbd at my pick up spot for that day!Jessica's service and helpfulness was absolutely amazing and she is a total star!I loved everything about the Bavarian motel and I would absolutely stay there again!Thankyou so much!

Perfect for our trip down south for the labour weekend, we arrived after hours and the room was left unlocked for us which was great and it was warm. 10/10

Lots of floor space, no bathroom vanity, just a small hand basin. Huge wet bathroom for a wheelchair. Two TV's though, but laundry was dirty and garbage wheely bins overfull.
