I. M.Car park smell a bit putting off, especially as it is the first impression you get as you arrive. Rubbish skip behind a door in car park. Rooms getting pricey too. Sad face! Usually have had a great stay at this hotel.

My room was just what I needed. It had good heating on what was a cold night in June. I had to go early to get to a meeting in Dunedin. I would have liked to stay for breakfast.

L.The photos are not quite reflective of reality, they make them look way more modern then they are. However, the apartment was clean and more than adequate for a 3 night stay. Staff were friendly. Parking out front for free after hours parking. Easy location to walk to food outlets etc.

What let the place down was the cleanliness, or lack of.
Check in was quick friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking just out front.
There is about 6 secure parking spots in the basement that you have to pay extra for.
N. S.We had booked 2 nights here, but unfortunately, after witnessing a rough altercation at the front of the hotel, we did not feel safe or comfortable staying both nights (had our 86 year old grandmother with us). Thankfully, staff were helpful. We had to cancel through the third party we had booked with, but aside from that, we were able to cancel without penalty.
The rooms are basic but practical. Location is central with Kmart nearby. Like others have said, it does have a uni dorm or backpacker sense. It is great for families or groups on a budget though as is well-priced. Beds were comfy and rooms well-appointed. However, I do think the pictures on the websites are a little deceiving.
Overall, I’d give the hotel a 3 for service and location.
c. S.Best place you could stay, for a very cheap price. Awesome staff, clean rooms and great activities. They have a cinema, a personally cooked breakfast, a nice lounge and Awesome rooms.
I highly recommend the cooked breakfast.
A. M.Great place for family. The bed is very comfortable. We had fun playing pool n football table. Both room have its own flat screen TV. Unlimited wifi n a small kitchenette with utensils, microwave, kettle n toaster.

T. “. N.Very comfortable hotel, handy cooking facilities, a huge communal lounge area and a kitchenette in the rooms with a full sized fridge, also rooms are fully stocked with dinner ware and utensils.
Clean bedding and the bathroom was spotless clean.
Lots of AC outlets to power your devices however, none are beside but only situated around the work space table area.
Check in was a breeze and staff very friendly.
Q. B.Adequate accommodation. We had a 3 bdrm apartment and it was warm and comfortable although a little tired. Definitely handy location. Walking distance to all the eating places and across the road from Kmart.
R. D.Comfy bed! And good space for the price. Only things I'd like to see different is maybe bigger coffee cups in the rooms and the upstairs communal kitchens open before check out went to use the kitchen but was locked and didn't open until 10 so was late checking out. Other than that everyone was very accommodating when asked to open the kitchen for us.
S. R.Small rooms, extremely small bathrooms specially shower area. No replacement of towels or other amenities during the stay. Good kitchen and communal area to sit and relax with a cup of tea. Parking available at cost from the hotel though there are spots available around for free parking. Nice location, pretty much everything is accessible with in walking distance.
M. B.Friendly staff. Good bed and pillows. We do like a comfy bed. Clean room with kitchenette. Lounge on each floor. Basement play area and meeting area. Can book parking. Excellent value for a reasonable price.
C.The first room we got was very smelly! We went back and complained and got a new one which was fine. The rooms are spacious however it is a pretty standard hotel. On street parking is fine and it is in a good spot. Really basic breakfast selection (as expected). Stay here if you just need a bed to sleep in at a reasonable price.
D. K.Room was clean, modern & well equipped. Bed was comfortable as well.
Only complaint was that the room completely lacked any air conditioning so it was quite hot for most of the night. There was one small window that could be opened but it's quite high and lacked the necessary hardware to keep it from closing. We did find a dusty fan tucked away under the desk after a while. Not ideal but better than nothing. Room 414.
G. R.It's decent value budget accommodations. The rooms are simple and do show a bit of wear, but they have the essentials and a helpful staff. It's also well priced. I appreciate the breakfast (even though it's fairly simple), and the WiFi (with good speeds). Parking isn't too terribly once the meters turn off for the day. I'd stay here again (and have).

J.Typical ibis hotel, very industrial and doors after doors bit confusing, rooms are medium size but clean although there is no ventilation and opening of windows is next to impossible, reception is not 24x7 but staff is nice. Packed breakfast was also of good quality and had plenty for two people. Hot water in shower was good and pressure was optimal. Location is central and it costs about 15NZD for airport on a taxi.
J.We stayed here for one night this time around, however have stayed here previously. They have family rooms and 2bdrm apartment style rooms which is nice. It's a very simple place, and by Invercargill standards is okay. Depending on where your room is there can be some noise from the street (like we had last night with drunk people on the road somewhere). The beds are comfy as well. The breakfast is just toast and cereal so if you are hoping for something better, eat elsewhere. It really is just a place to sleep and nothing more. The decor makes it feel like a hostel or a uni hall type accommodation.
A. T.The staff members are friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The room was clean and nice with plenty of windows; although the view were just the back of buildings. The ensuite was clean and tidy, though having glass door rather than shower curtain will certainly make the shower space much bigger; especially the bottom part of the shower curtain in our ensuite was quite dirty. Breakfast was quite nice, the coffee machines works, and they also have mango juice. The lounge in every floor though looks empty, for us it's not a big deal as we mostly either out and about or resting in our room. The entertainment room is spacious with plenty of stuff to occupy you, though you do need to ask the staff for the key to the movie room. Parking is available on request and with additional cost, though off-street parking is also available.
K. M.Cleaning needs to improve on blinds and windows, Apartment i book is hot in summer. Some Good points are that it is located very close to shopping places and restaurants also breakfast is good. Has a good kitchen with big fridge, microwave, toaster and cooking hob with cooking utensils.

The room was clean when we got there. Kitchen well stocked & clean, although I have my doubts about the t-towel.
Reception staff were great as where breakfast staff.
Room cleaners had to be requested. When we did ask for cleaners they only made the bed & changed the towels. The second time they didn't come at all. We had to go to reception & get our own towels.
During a 5 night stay I would have expected/liked the bathroom to have been given a once over.
J. H.Their rooms are reasonably okay. There are some design features that are bit dysfunctional such as there being a step into the bath room and constantly triping over it. But its location is great. Everything nearby is walking distance. The customer service you get there is amazing, i had a great experience with it.
D. H.Nice room, when the room was painted it was not done very well. The shower head holder was broken. Staff wearing mismatched uniforms, not sure if this is their choice of management or if there is no management enforcing uniforms. Felt a bit like a backpacker hostel almost.

V. R.Good value for money. The rooms are small but there is bonus of off street free parking after 6 pm. The service though is below par. I have stayed two times and both times my card key failed to work. Rather than acknowledge my inconvenience, the receptionist behaved as if she was inconvenienced to make me a new card key.

S.We had an absolutely terrible 1 bedroom apartment on the 4th floor that smelt badly of paint from the renovations going on so we asked for another room and got a room twice the size on the ground floor. Can see how this hotel can be hit or miss depending on what room you have been given. Ended up being perfect for us!
B. H.Stayed overnight while visiting town and the location was great, right in the middle of town. The price includes a breakfast served in the breakfast room & every guest gets access to free WiFi (got 3Gb of data) which had good coverage throughout the site.
Car parking is on-street which may be an issue during the business day but I had no trouble on the weekend.
E. M.the hotel makes you confortable, people are very kind and aviable for any need. Common spaces as kitchen, tv room, hall, are very clean and nice. A perfect start point to visit the Catlins.

Lil stuffy but has air chiller so good after a lil while.
They would make a good lil flat.
Big fridge freezer and big bins in room which is great.

Parking is on the road which I didn’t like, but you can reserve private parking for approx 20 a night.
