L.We booked online using hostel world, only to turn up and not have a room available, we then had to pay for a room double the price. Not particularly the business' fault but it's definitely not our fault. Now we are out of pocket 200 dollars.
Aside from that the staff are lovely, and it's a lovely location. It has a full kitchen that guests can use, great burners and all utsenils available. My only issue would be the cleanliness of the bathroom, it had a strange smell and was quite mouldy In corners.
C.Really nice receptionist but the room was pretty gross. The corner of the bathroom was coming up and had black mold/mildew (?) In the corner and all along the baseboards. Looked like it had, had flooding damage at one point and no one decided to fix it. Mold on the curtains, cobwebs in the room, very dated. Bit expensive for what you get but peak season in Paihia it's too be expected.
Beds were clean and comfortable though and the TV worked.
J.Really nice, simple, cheap place to stay very close to Paihia. Big common areas including kitchen and lounges, and a deck overlooking the river. Heat pumps in every room. Could perhaps be great budget option for teams or groups during the off season when occupancy is low.

M.2-bedroom room was just just amazing and it was close to water falls which was even better. Morning birds chirping was soo peaceful.
Facilities needs updating as soon as possible.
F.This place deserve to be known!!! We stayed at this place unfortunately only 1 night after being very disappointed by Larry the worst RbnB host in Paihia, and people here are very welcoming. The whole place is spotless, very clean and that's very important for us because we have a baby in the group..
The location is amazing, full of nature and we had the terrace in front of the river, we LOVE it!
The woman at the reception is wonderful and very understanding as we done a check out a little bit later because the baby nap.
To resume if you don't know where to go in Paihia, just go there and you won't be disappointed.

R.😃 Went to the riverside lodge on Feb 2019 , had a great experience with Zoe 🥰 the owner of Riverside Lodge ❣️ Mum and Dad want me to take them back to the Same place this year. Yes! we love to be back to Riverside Lodge, it’s a peaceful little paradise here😍 you can cook you own meal and eat outside in a little heaven there with you own favourite food🍜🍝🥗🍲DO NOT forget bring your wine 🍷with you 💓sure you will enjoy watching haruru fall during your meal time 👻 Room and public facilities are clean just like last year👉as a dine in restaurant staff I was worked over 15 years ,Yes! Zoe you are on a “ A grade “ certificate 👍 See you again next year when we are there 🥰my lovely Lady Zoe ❣️ Note: 2x pictures was taking from Paihia beach by use my phone 👉 all photos are the original colour when the day we were there.
S.Bit run down but the rooms were clean. Very close to a nice waterfall and a short drive to Paihia
C.very peaceful place n not far from city, view was gud...room, kitchen,hall and laundry area was clean n tidy....
M.Had nice family time and Barbies rooms fairly small and compact. Lovely views of the river.
M.The room was sparkling clean and the linen so crisp. Such a quiet spot, great for relaxing. There was lots of hot water and the shower pressure was fabulous. The check in staff where friendly and helpful all this at a great price.
S.Friendly Staff, Laundry and Ironing stuff available on site. 2 mins away from Huarua falls. Good hygiene and decent room sizes.

D.Is part of the cheaper accomodation in Paihia. Clean to an acceptable standard but not entirely clean. Under our bed we found a dead insect. Air conditioning gave us nasal congestion, but this might be our unique experience. Linen was crisp and clean. Not enough toilet rolls provided. Family stayed in rooms 20 and 21 which has a water cylinder nearby. You hear the water being used by other rooms thus not much rest for families with kids who go to bed early. Not toddler friendly as electrical sockets are mid wall height thus difficult to conceal. We had a pleasant stay for the price we paid.
