A. H.OVERALL: 8 / 10. VALUE: good compared to other places by the shore. PARKING: suits Light Rigid, limited for Heavy Rigid, not for Trailers. SERVICE: friendly and efficient, good website. ROOM: modern furniture, good bed, tidy. CLEANLINESS: good but wear&tear on walls. BUSINESS: no desk but table, limited power outlets, good Internet. COMFORT: traffic noises during day but ok at night. LOCATION: excellent, close to eateries, train station, walking trails. GUEST TYPE: mostly workers but respectful. *Reviewed Harbour view studio room.

Clean and tidy
T. M.I rate my hotels by three things service, comfort and shower. Service was good friendly, helpful reception and cleaners. Room was small but clean and stylish, shower was awesome nice and hot good pressure too. Thumbs up 83 by the sea
L. 0.The room was comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were friendly and keen to help. However, I wouldn't recommend this place to stay for a light sleeper. Noise carries though the rooms - footsteps on the rooms above, traffic, and the neighbours television.
M. T.Some where to stay over night if you are passing though Wellington on a budget/cheep and have a truck or truck and trailer which can be parked up out side on the road .The room was clean with a small kitchen unit. Shower was clean but avarage.
If you don't have transport (except a large truck as I did). The shops restaurants Pack and Save are only 5 min walk

R. A.Spotlessly clean, with a spacious rooms this is an older motel that has been tastefully renovated with care and a detailed touch. It was all the little extra details that made my stay enjoyable from the well appointed kitchenette - it had everything you needed and just a little bit more. Make up towellette, Jasmine tea, quality bedding and even two suitcase stands. The owners were were attentive and helpful. Will stay again when in Lower Hutt

Get's heavy traffic noise first thing in the morning coupled by the fact truck drivers seem to stop over for the night and start their trucks 10min before leaving in saying that it is handy to the local eateries and shops.
C. E.The beds are very comfortable and you get what you pay for plus a little bit more, although not much more. Very warm with a nice outdoor area if you want to hang outside in the sun with your family. Another bonus is the beach just across the road so tanning on the beach is an opportunity. Nice people behind the counter although I'm not being funny it's genuinely hard to understand them sometimes.
E. L.Rooms are small but clean & tidy. We cut our stay short due to a strange noise all night (a low intermittent hum) but I'm happy that the owner did everything he could by offering us another room & on this occasion gave my money back for the prepaid second night. Excellent location opposite the esplanade in petone.

S. O.Try to get a room at the back to avoid the street noise. Otherwise, this is a well located motel with all the amenities you can expect. One small gripe: the TV doesn't swivel so is only visible if you are sitting on the bed, not from the - comfortable - armchairs.

S. S.The location of 83 is ideal. Walking distance from the beach and local restaurants. There is a Mc Donald's close by and a pub just around the corner. As for the motel it is good value for money and the staff were very helpful.
