Brand new hotel. Beatiful rooms. Could not use the restsurant as it was leaking and renovation work was going on. Car park was wet with rain water sipping in the basement. Hardly any cutlery provided.

Fantastic food and service at the FAWC function tonight. The wines were also amazing and matched the foods perfectly! Looking forward to visiting again.🤗🤗

From start to finish the whole experience was faultless. The hotel itself is right in the heart of Napier town, so everything is within walking distance. There was plenty of street parking around the hotel that we used overnight, or you can choose to pay and park in the hotel carpark. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing was too much of an ask. The hotel has recently opened and there is a sense of everyone still trying to find their feet, but this didn’t hinder the experience whatsoever as everyone was super helpful.
On the outside the hotel looks rather unassuming, apart from the marble by the doorway, but once you are inside you know you have arrived somewhere special. The decor is beautiful and comparable to the Sofitel Wellington. We stayed in the most affordable room and that was very large and well stocked with excellent amenities and great quality finishings. By the way, it was huge for a standard hotel room!
There was one negative that should be rectified soon, and that was that the restaurant was only open for breakfast. There is a room service menu but it wasn’t available on the night we stayed (Monday). The staff said they are just launching a soft opening for breakfast and it should be open fully down the track. You had to preorder your breakfast choices the night before too.
Speaking of breakfast, if you do stay here please do yourself a favour and get a rate that includes breakfast. It was hands down one of the best breakfast we’ve ever had. There was a small buffet with the usual pastries and cereals (which were delicious by the way). But the real standout was the cooked breakfast, OMG it was so good. You could see straight away all the produce they used was very high quality. The eggs, sausage and mushroom were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to see what the chef does for lunch and dinner when they open fully, I’d go back just for that!
I highly recommend staying here, we have stayed at a lot of other hotels in Napier but the overall experience at the Swiss is on another level. Just bring a little more patience as everyone is still learning, and don’t sweat the small stuff. You will have an amazing time - AND go for the breakfast option!

Really wanted to like this hotel. It's new, the fitout is nice. And we got a double upgrade after their booking system made it possible for us to book ourselves (2 adults and 1 seven year old) into a room that doesn't have a pull out or extra single bed. Ended up in two amazing connected rooms.
There are so many things that could be done to make this place great but I fear it's just not going to happen:
- I'm assuming COVID supply issues have affected some things. Just a bit of communication would help with this and people would be understanding. Eg no microwave in kitchen, no rubbish bin in bathroom, no dishes and cutlery in kitchenette
- cupboard doors need to be adjusted so they don't whack into the wall, tap over the bathroom sink needs to be longer
- breakfast is good but not promoted or widely known. So there's no one there
- needs signage in the parking garage as to which door to take to get back into the hotel
- coffee pods for machine are a bit "harsh" and milk sachets not a great touch
If you bill yourself as a five star hotel, expectations are set at certain level. And unfortunately this hotel is not at that level.

Best accomodation in the Hawkes Bay period. Facilities are 5 star and the customer service is of a very high standard. Extremely well presented and close all the hotspots in the Napier CBD! We look forward to visiting the Swiss-Belboutique Hotel whenever we are in Napier. AAA+++
