Great experience! A quiet neighbourhood but still central location, close to everything. The room has warm and inviting family atmosphere, spotless clean. The bed is comfy. Enjoying serviced breakfast on outside deck with nice garden view had been the highlight of the stay. You can feel the enthusiasm and passion of Mark the owner on his business, which ensures top notch services provided. Also his dog Bella is a cute companion to all ages. We liked everything here at AH house! You won’t regret to stay here.

Spectacular! Everything is perfect! From the warm hospitality of the hosts, Mark and John with their lovely dog Bella! 🐶 To the scrumptious breakfast! The Garden Rooms are very neat and clean. Comfy bed, very relaxing and calming ambiance. I love the aesthetic, vintage classic set up of the place. Can't find the right words to describe how amazing and magical this place is. They also have tons of good books to read. Perfect place to go if you want to unwind and find peace for a while. A few minutes walk to Cathedral Square and to the good shops and restaurants in town. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommended!

Mark and John were the most amazing hostes, nothing was a problem, happy to share knowledge of what to see and do in the area, fabulous breakfasts and lovely private room and gardens to enjoy. Just perfect in every way.

Amazing and beautiful in every way! We were in awe - the hospitality, the setting, the decor, the cleanliness. Totally loved the antiques and being served breakfast using fine china, crystal and silverware - felt like royalty.Thank you Mark and John for being such super hosts, especially Mark, with his contagious laugh and helpfulness. Oh, lovely meeting Bella, the dog :)

We had the most blisfull 3days at Ah House, welcoming hosts, catered to our every need, special unexpected touches like beer and fizzy in the fridge, nothing was too much trouble. First class breakfast at a time that suit us, presented so beautifully. Mark was able to give us a very interesting history of the area and usefull information about everything one can see and do in and around Nelson. Will defenitely return.

20/10. Faultless in every aspect. The rooms, the decor, the service, the breakfast, the grounds, the bird song, the location - just 5 minutes walk to the Nelson cafes and restaurants near the Church. Amazing hosts, the property is eclectic, tasteful and bursting with character. If you are looking for Nelson accommodation, stop looking and book this. You can't possible regret it.

If you are coming to Nelson then you must stay here. If you are looking for a place a short stroll from town.. Set in beautiful gardens and run by wonderful friendly and informative hosts then this is the place for you. We loved our stay here...everything is well thought out and considered and is no wonder they are award winning. You can except a brilliant breakfast and a comfy room with a comfy bed and excellent pillows. We were sad our stay was only 2 nights but loved getting to know Mark, John, Dot and Bella the friendly dog. We immediately felt at ease and relaxed and loved all the friendly touches and the welcome beers in the fridge. We'll be back forsure and will be recommending Ah House to all our friends planning a Nelson visit. You won't regret a stay here.

As a semi frequent visitor to Nelson and (when it's not booked out) AhHouse, I specifically asked for the garden rooms this time. I was so impressed. Although smaller than the apartment and two separate rooms, the attention to detail is the same - as well as the yummy breakfast. The separate lounge area is perfect for not waking up the partner while you read the newspaper and drink coffee, while the bedroom is cozy and very comfortable. In fact, the garden rooms is my new favorite place to stay in Nelson.

Mark & John are the perfect host from surprising us with a pickup up at the airport & gratefully returning us. We immediately felt at home in our lovely apartment. Breakfast was always a lovely way to start the day. We were absolutely delighted with our visit to Nelson.

Covid 19 ruined our plan to revisit the best BnB in Nelson. Once we reached Level 2, I called Mark to find out when they were re-opening. I was impressed to learn that they have opened just 1 room to ensure social distancing. As I got in early, the weekend I wanted was available. Bonus! Looking forward to spending some time in Nelson again in this hidden gem.

This place just keeps getting better. New eco friendly garden rooms have replaced the sleep out and are beautifly appointed and more spacious than expected. A real slice of kiwi. Perfect for a relaxing holiday, nice stroll to the city center. Mark's yummy cooked breakfast is the perfect start to the day.
