S.Friendly staff and reasonable sized rooms. Good location, only a short drive from the airport and very pretty surroundings. In our room, the studio, the decor wasn't at all appealing and it seemed very dark, however it was well cleaned but the carpet either needs replacing or a good clean. Kitchenette was very practical and beds were comfortable so overall the room was good. I would prefer the rooms to be more modern but I understand that they have been styled in a particular way, I think there is a better way to give old English character to a room instead of making it feel outdated. Overall would stay again, only problem was the decor.
J.+ Loved this place, from the moment we drove in. Our room was so different to what you get in other places you cannot compare. Very clean, so presentable & blooming fantastic. So very cosy. Both rooms with ensuites, were wonderful. Location was just right. Whoever came up with the concept was genius!
- A very wee con - but please do not call it a 'Full Kitchen' when there is no oven.
S.The location is pretty good, not too long from a store or restaurants. The service is Good and nice People. The rooms are really good, big, soft beds and fancy bathrooms. They also contain dishwasher and washing machine. The breakfast costs, but it's worth it. They have a fancy restaurant and a nice bar near the hotel and in the hotel. If I ever get the chance to stay there again, I would absolutely take it.
J.Not a bad hotel. Only down side was they overbooked so put us in a smaller room with no air conditioning or refrigerator which was an inconvenience without advising us before arrival. It was an uncomfortable stay for us as the room was way too warm. We had the windows open but that was just an open invitation for the mosquitos. They did however compensate us with complimentary breakfast which was enjoyable. Parking was easy and the hotel is close to walkways and the airport. I wish I could have given 5 stars.
D.Beautiful location, quaint room. Not quite your average hotel room, Imagine being transported back to a room from a century or 2 ago, but with all the modern amenities. Bathroom is lovely and modern, we couldn't find the heater but didn't ask and ended up not needing it. The restaurant has excellent food.
A.This is a nice enough place. Pretty. It's 15m out of town. It's reasonably basic however. It has all the facilities you'd likely want Including washer and dishwasher. Beds are comfortable. There are a few annoying things like the door knobs which are fiddly and the fact all bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs. Heaters are older and noisy. TV is small. They have some sky chanels. S.Lovely large rooms. Cooking facilities and microwave. Clean and comfortable. Unique set up like a small English village. A little isolated, no shops nearby. Evening buffet meal was adequate but service has room for improvement. Maybe some training for the younger members of staff
N.We stayed here for one night on our way to Franz Josef Glacier from Picton. The apartments are massive with ground floor covering the living and dining room and first floor covering the bedrooms. The bedrooms are good enough although small but the bathrooms are even smaller. In our master bedroom the heater was not working. We were given a heater after requesting at reception. The apartments have all the facilities including microwave, cooking range, washing machine, dishwasher and crockery along with toaster and coffee maker and a fire place.
The water pressure is good and water warm.
The breakfast buffet was really poor With not many choices. Even the coffee was not part of the buffet. When booking at this location you can avoid paying for breakfast. There is ample free parking.
For families with children there are board games, DVD player and a music system
S.Me and my wife stayed here while we were on our way back to Greymouth. Rooms were very neat and clean. Hotel staff were very helpful. This hotel is quite a bit far from the city center and one either has to walk down or take a cab to reach city center. Cabs in Nelson are pretty expensive.
A.We booked online a few hours before arriving for a really good rate and upon arrival (fairly late in the day) we were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment in the little cottages.
We could park the car right outside our door which was really useful.
The one bedroom appartment was spacious, decorated to feel like a little english cottage and was very comfortable. Nothing to fault.
We made use of the laundry facilities ($3 for a half hour wash and $1 for 20mins drying) which was brilliant as we were in the middle of our trip.
It is a little far out from Wellington to walk to town but parking is soo easy that this was not really a big problem.
We spent two nights here and enjoyed it immensly.

j.Surprisingly like an old English building, this place is one of the top Accor hotels, in my view. The room I had was just perfect, decorated in the old English style and had a great view of the sea. Top marks to the restaurant ,especially the lady in charge.
T.You need your own car to make it worthwhile staying here. The sitting room was huge and backed onto a small private terrace. I was here on a work trip so I didn't require too much space but the room was a decent size for a couple or a small family.
T.Hotel was very close to downtown Nelson and there were biking and jogging paths nearby. The room was adequate but the toilet seat had a crack in it which we reported to reception. Thank you again to Nicole, Clare and the team for such an excellent experience and hope to visit again soon and stay longer.
T.The Hotel is beautifully laid out in an English village style, complete with 'village green' and climbing roses. The website gives the impression of a luxury complex and describes it as a boutique hotel. Fantastic location Felt like I was back in London. The staff were only to eager to answer questions and help with recommendations.
A.Very pretty red brick cottage type units complete with a kitchenette and sitting area with a fireplace downstairs and two bedrooms on the first floor . Perfect for a holiday with family or very close friends . A sitout onto the lawn with rustic table and chairs . Kids in next unit were playing on the green . I could have just lazed and read a book here , oh and there was a collection of hard bound reader's digest volumes which were so tempting ! A small little hand made jewellery store just across had beautifully crafted peices too . Alas stayed too short a time to really enjoy the place .
S.Loved it. The olde worlde design and layout is endearing plus the large spacious accommodation. Preferred to dine and breakfast elsewhere though as the food at the restaurant was not much to write home about.
T.The restaurant had great food and the location is beautiful. The stand for hot drinks and the refrigerator were in the hall that all the rooms in that hallway must share. There were a lot of ducks in the pond and they formed quite an entertainment committee. Big thanks to the staff for making the few days stranded more bearable.

M.Stayed with family with 5 year old and 3 year old. Real fast Internet but with 1GB Cap. Our room 401 had a big fan in the roof somewhere that turned on about 6.30am that woke us up each morning if the kids did not wake us first. Nice place otherwise.
J.Designed like an English village, with fake shops. ( think Charles ChurchDesign) Set in a square with small pool and gym in one corner. Apt very comfortable but English chintzy style interior which I don't want when I am abroad. No outside space to relax in - other than pool area that does not have enough Sun beds and chairs are very very uncomfortable (like school chairs). Completely away from shops and nothing nearby. Not actually in Nelson. Fab shower room but does need a shelf in shower. No a/c so had to leave Windows open and I was nibbled on the feet, very itchy so had to find anthisan cream from case in middle of the night. Just not for me.
D.This is a very interesting Hotel based upon an old English Village room so nice. The restaurant is ok but there's not a separate bar. Only suggestion I could make slept need to change the shower head.

A.Who would have thought that somewhere in the South Island is a tiny little English Tudor village. Oh wait, no, it's the Monaco Apartments!
We arrived late and night and came across typical excellent service from friendly staff as I've come to expect from Mercure locations around the world. We weren't expecting a Mercure that was some combination of top tier motel, hotel and serviced apartments.
Somehow, it works really well, and we ended up staying for two comfortable nights and really enjoyed Nelson and the surrounding area, as our last stop on a road-trip around the South Island before heading to the North Island.
We stayed in apartment 714 (downstairs in a little town house) and the apartment was well designed and comfortable, although we found it a little dark. The kitchenette was perfect for our needs, and the living room and bedroom was comfortable.
It's the staff that make it in the end, and every interaction was friendly, helpful and professional.

T.The hotel is about 10 minutes drive to central Nelson, but you feel like you are staying out of town as it is a bit off the beaten track here. Its quite a nice development with great conference facility. Here is the pamphlet who we are joined with, but there are plenty of people to book through when you get there.

T.I've always heard great things about the Monaco Resort as an award winning hotel and wanted to try it out. The resort has a jeweller, a hair salon, a swimming pool which I enjoyed very much and a very elegant restaurant. We actually ate and drank in the Honest Lawyer pub across the road.
T.Stayed here for a wedding and since I was the solo traveller of the party had a room to myself. We were on High Street and were able to have our morning coffee outside overlooking the green. The staff were very good about getting ice and bi carb soda to take down the swelling.
m.First time staying here and what a great spot. Cheerful and helpful staff, nothing seems a bother. A really different style of buildings and rooms which is actually really cool. Well recommended.

m.I have nothing bad to say about this place. It was clean, cute little two storey cottage with two bedrooms and a fireplace. Fully equipped kitchen.
M.Water pressure for shower is low and hotel rooms are on the first floor. So only minimum water comes out from the shower, which is not a good experience. As the hotel is labeled as Grand Mercure, no mini fridge in hotel rooms is inadequate.
A.Really nice place to stay, with good facilities and extremely nice rooms. Only downside is that it is close to the airport, so a bit of noise, but the airport isn't 24/7.

Very clean room, the bathroom is brand new. We have had views of the sea (when the tide is high 😄). It is a very quiet place (except for the noise of the planes during the day). The hotel staff is very friendly.
The only downside is that it is far from the city center, you must take the car to see Nelson and the rest of the areas, since walking is a long way.
I would recommend it without a doubt, since the stay has been very pleasant.

Nos ha gustado mucho.
Habitación muy limpia, el baño es completamente nuevo. Hemos tenido vistas al mar (cuando está la marea alta 😄 ). Es un sitio muy tranquilo (a excepción del ruido de los aviones durante el día). El personal del hotel es muy simpático.
La única pega, es que está lejos del centro de la ciudad, debes coger el coche para poder ver Nelson y el resto de las zonas, ya que caminando es un buen trecho.
Lo recomendaría sin lugar a dudas, ya que la estancia ha sido muy placentera.

Dit hotel is prachtig ingericht als een dorp waar in ieder huisje een paar kamers zijn voorzien. Parking voor de deur. Hele grote kamer met afzonderlijke salon, keuken en slaapkamer. Uno de los hoteles con más encanto donde hemos estado! Unas vistas de ensueño y un atardecer que merece ver desde la habitación. Nuestra habitación daba a la pequeña marisma del pueblo y las vistas eran espectaculares. Todo muy limpio y la cama enooorme y muy cómoda.

Angelegt wie ein Dorf mit Cottages, Gärten und Wegen. Sehr schön gemacht! Das Restaurant und v.a. der Service sind der Wahnsinn. Super Lage für Ausflüge in den Abel Tasman NP, dafür sehr außerhalb und neben Flughafen und Schnellstr.
Dennoch absolut empfehlenswert!
L.Das Hotel ist sehr schön und sauber. Es ist etwas weit weg von der Innenstadt. Man kann leider nicht zu Fuß dahin kommen. Manche stört vielleicht die Nähe zum Flughafen. Wir fanden es aber spektakulär. Für kurze Aufenthalte ist es sehr zu empfehlen.
