Room was ok but neighbours were smoking and smell can't into our room. We only had 3 towels for 4 of us as laundry had not been delivered. Parking was a challenge as was full when we arrived. A guest nicely moved their car a little so we could park. Outdoor need a bit of attention.

We book two rooms for my family one bedroom apartment and two bedroom this included the breakfast but unfortunately there's wasn't any which disappointing my family was expecting it to be serving before we head home today, we only stayed for one night, the room itself was okay but definitely needed to be more upgraded, looks a bit dated, needs progress for cleaning, the water slow and the shower take longer to get hot water our rooms was cold had to turn on the air con make it warmer for my kid's other than that okay. Not so much for my first experience with my husband and kid's. Not much greetings from the owners when we left

Nice little hotel, in our 2 bedroom single beds were way too soft for comfortable sleep but double bed was OK. Not too far from the city, just a nice kiwi motel

Sadly like many older Motels and 2yrs of little human travelling these motels badly need upgrading, value for money over the busy season not too bad. Overall, having distasteful clients is never good for business, so in future should we need a motel we will be paying more to get what we prefer.

Booked a 2 night stay at the Kings Gate Motel as I was attending a conference at the nearby Trafalgar Centre. The motel is in a good location, only a 5 minute walk to the Trafalgar Centre and only 10 minutes from the CBD which is great. The room was a good size with separate lounge area and had everything I needed for my stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The only downside was the shower which seemed to have quite low pressure. Friendly staff and there is parking on site if needed. Would stay again.

My 5 night stay far exceeded my expectations. Regan was fantastic. He was very accommodating and considerate. My one bedroom unit was well appointed, quiet, and the blackout curtains helped me sleep well. The location was perfect - close enough to be very convenient and just far enough to avoid downtown bustle. Kings Gate Motel is now my first choice if/when I need to stay in Nelson in future.

Great Motel quiet close to town tidy rooms pool everything you'd expect and more. Great management that go out of their way to help. Highly recommend.

We stayed for two nights while in Nelson. What made this different to other motels, the blankets were folded over at the top, so when in bed they were high up and cosy. In other motels, I've had to loosen the blankets at the bottom to get them high enough to feel warm. The owners gave us great tourist advice. The unit is very well equipped and clean. Take time to smell the beautiful rose.

Generous room, small but good dining table and chairs, small separate kitchen, generous bathroom. The motel is only 6 minutes walk from the main shopping street, cinema, restaurants and under 10 from a large supermarket. It was very convenient for everything we wanted and we would stay again.

We stayed in Rm11, and despite the weather, Regan and Amanda were amazing! Awesome hosts!Great location! Close to everything.Supermarkets, restaurants however set back from town, to enjoy places like founders park. Immaculate rooms, and a great welcoming atmosphere.

Friendly staff and room was clean. FYI, unit #11 is attached to the communal laundry and right next to the pool, so be prepared for some background noise if you're staying here. The room was spacious but felt cramped due to the configuration - bathroom door kept catching onto the bed, and the bathroom also doubled as storage closet for a fan and bag holder. No door to toilet so not much privacy if one person is showering and another needs the toilet. All in all a fair price for a night's stay in Nelson close to shops, but I would try booking a different room if staying here again.

Lots of room and helpful owners. The most comfortable beds and pillows of anywhere. In fact, I liked the pillow so much (fixed my sore neck) that they let me buy it! Great central spot.

Close to town, easy check in and out. We were a bit surprised when we arrived as the photos didn't seem to reflect the current state of the accommodation. Unit 11, as mentioned in another review, had no AC and backed on to the pool and laundry room.

I have no hesitation in recommending this motel having saying after some drunk teenagers decided to have a party with many young ones constantly turning up and banging on doors to see where there friends were. The owners dealt with the situation with calmness before it could have so got out of hand . With much respect the owners are very kind and always help they seem to have got all these fake reviews from people who were not even staying saying complete lies and that is extremely unfair as if you were here you would have known the situation much respect to the owners for dealing with this

Well situated as just a short walk into the centre. Not too expensive IIRC. I had to move the bed in my room to get at the power point. Small kitchen but everything you need.
