Nice quiet spot just out of Nelson city near the "centre of NZ" monument. Good base for walking, biking and exploring the area. Facilities were dated but tidy. We were in area E and the Internet we purchased was very patchy and we couldn't use it so might be worth checking on that before confirming your site if you need WiFi. Lovely lady at reception, has been struggling to find staff post-Covid stuff, I hope she catches a break soon!

Coming back this summer for what will be our fifth summer holiday here. We love it, beautiful setting, simple life camping with all necessary basics. Clean facilities and welcoming staff. Big bonus is they are not dog discriminative, as long as you follow the rules, our furry family can join us on our family holiday 😊🐶 lovely, see you soon ❤️

Very busy camping ground.
Fenced and pet friendly.
Cheap $2 showers for 6minutes... Loved the water pressure. Has hot plates for cooking although no utensils etc. Kitchen and bathroom and camp grounds themselves are very clean and tidy. Nice short or longer walks around the place. There is only one place to charge devices. I was skeptical but it was ok, nothing that belonged to me went missing (can't speak for others). Cell reception is pretty non existent, and they want you to pay $5 for 1 gig of data or 24 hours (which ever occurs first). There is an unnerving quad bike noise ALL DAY with the amount of security staff which patrol until the night time when they change staff and walk their patrol and you can finally relax.. The noise of the quads is annoying... but when they take personal phonecalls outside your tent and then a drama breaks out over the phone and youre sitting there trying to read a book or study in PEACE... It's not really my business. I didn't want to know. Thanks for dragging me into it anyways guys.
I paid for 4 nights and left 2 nights early.
Not my idea of relaxation I'm afraid.
For me, it was too open feeling for people to be so close and so many of them.
Too noisy,
And, staff were rude at times... Upon arrival, I was unable to figure out how to get in as I had missed a hand written sign and the staff I asked were VERY rude. There was no need to be mean about it... It's YOUR JOB DUDE!

We made a last minute booking and the staff were super accommodating, especially given the time of year. Lady on the front desk was lovely, pleasant and helpful 👌 we enjoyed our stay on our roomy site and had a well rested sleep. Bathrooms were clean and tidy. Loved the location too, it was a short drive out of the town but located in a beautiful nature filled spot. Would definitely be back again 😊

Second time back here, first in a tent and second in our new caravan. It’s a beautiful quiet spot that’s well maintained and has everything you need. They’re also dog friendly and there is so much to do with your pooches when you’re here. Some fantastic swimming holes along the river and great mountain biking and hiking trails. All this just minutes from the city of Nelson. We’ll be back again for sure.
