G.Only stayed for one night, but we liked it. Checking in late was no problem. Good value for money. Decent breakfast served 7-9am, but some people helped themselves to 5-6 bread rolls early on, leaving very little for everyone else, until staff refilled the stuff at 8am.
A.Nice hostel in Nelson. The room was clean and tidy and the shared kitchen has everything you need to prepare your meal. They also offer a free breakfast. The atmosphere with the other guests was relaxed and very friendly.
S.Nice and clean hostel, our room was ok, with a comfortable bed. But our room was in a diferent building of the kitchen, so when is raining yo have to get wet to get to the kitchen, they only have 1 shower in that building, the shower was ok, but is only 1 and we were waiting a lot to can take a shower. They only have a late check in, you only can check in before 4pm and 5.30pm and when we asked in the morning to stay after the check out in the living area they said no.
M.Stayed in a 8 bed room, not a bad stay. The kitchen is very small and so is the lounge area. The yard is pretty nice too. "Free breakfast" consists of a few types of bread, some jam, and peanut butter. Not terrible but personally I wouldn't call it breakfast. The place is quite clean and good quality but it isn't my favorite place because it seems a little cramped. Super friendly staff though!
J.Stayed in a 3 bed dorm. Had plenty of power sockets to use, side lamp and most importantly, a comfortable mattress. The showers are great with plenty of warm water and had a number of them dotted around, so you don't have to wait to long. Kitchen and common room is small, so it can get a bit crowded at times but has everything you need. Big outdoor space to enjoy the sun with a couple of hammocks. Friendly staff, and very helpful. Overall a great place to stay.
T.Lovely place, very welcoming welcome, comfy beds, nice kitchen and really clean.
There is a large garden with places to sit down and eat.
The location is really quiet, not far from the shops and fast food restaurants (And from the supermarket)
L.Stayed in one of the double bedrooms. Fantastic place to stay, highly recommend. Was the best backpackers we stayed in during our time in the South Island. Highly recommend. Also came with some make your own sandwiches for breakfast which was nice. Thanks guys, see you next time we're down.
S.Ideal spot for before and after doing the Abel Tasman Great Walk. The rooms are clean, good Wifi and a well equipped kitchen. We were leaving early for the walk and the owner went out of her way to get breakfast ready for our departure. Storage is available for extra luggage that you don't want to bring on the track. Close walk to shops (2km)
A.My favorite hostel in Nelson! The best internet I've encountered in New Zealand and it's totally free! The kitchen is great--equipped with spices and cooking oil! It's not too close to the center, but the owner was so nice and helpful--he even drove my friend to the bus station. Very comfy beds and pillows. Also has free parking. It's a great hostel--bright and clean :)
F.Facilities are nice. We had booked out an entire segment of rooms (incl.) Kitchen - However someone failed to tell other residents this and we had a handful of people wandering around using our kitchen/toilets when the communal one was available.
P.Free unlimited WiFi. Access to free fully functional bikes. Clean showers and toilets. A spacious room with your own sink and multiple drawers. A dedicated owner that drove us to the bus stop at 6:45am in the morning.

r.Great place to stay! Little out of the city center, so if you don't mind walking a little to get to the city it's a great place! Clean, free unlimited wifi, and a free breakfast in the morning! Best hostel I've stayed on my trip through New Zealand
S.It’s pretty good to stay here couple day but long term. Backpacker is warm and tiny one so you can always meet people here who stay for a while. Bathroom was clean and kitchen sometime was a mess but the staff always clean up the mess.
The problem would be the owner will ask you to change the room and even move to another their backpacker hotel when they get a group booking of your room such as dom room. But they already know you stay here for long term. Happen a lot while high season.
Moreover, they would keep asking you to book accommodation though their counter when u did it online though travel agency like **Agoda cause much more cheaper. They cannot offer you the same price of travel agency and blame that something wrong with their agreement with the agency if you do it in front desk.
Other than it is good to stay.
P.This place is lovely and very homely.
The staff are wonderful and the beds and dorms are cleaned, as well as all of the other facilities.
There’s plenty of board games and a table of foosball and a good garden space to chill and relax.
I got on well with Rob Savage, he’s a very helpful and friendly individual

R.Going here highly recommended, everything is tidy and clean , free wifi ,bikes , bread and more . The owner is dedicated to making it your best possible stay. The kitchen is big and clean ,same goes for the bathrooms and showers . My room was very comfortable.
K.The best beds out of hostels i’ve been in! Clean and nice, friendly staff and nice outdoor space, maybe a bit too small lounge and kitchen, but when i stopped there was more then enough for me! It was a lovely stay
c.Warm atmosphere, ideal for backpackers that want a nice and friendly place to settle down a little. If you're a family, this place is nice as well since most of backpackers here are working and not partying like in some hostel! Highly recommende this place in Nelson!
O.The place is not so original compare to some backpackers hostel that I saw on the west coast but the accomodations are ok and the couple who is running the place are really kind.
Don't expect à high quality of comfort. The kitchen is sometimes a little bit dirty and the doors are always open so it is sometimes cold in the dorm house.
K.Thought it was okay. Nice breads apart from standard sandwich bread offering for breakfast. Had a private ensuite which could have definitely been cleaner. Kitchen smelled from what must have been leftover food. Expected better for what I paid.
E.The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. They gave me great advice on the area and things to do in both good and bad weather :)! The room and facilities are nice, perfect for a quick stop over :)!
C.Not bad, clean room but only 1 shower in the block I stayed, to get to the kitchen you have to walk outside (not good as it was raining) really late check in and wasn't allowed to stay around after check out till the rain stopped
H.So nice! Awesome hi running the place, clean and comfortable beds, great size and great hammocks! Loved that they had clohing soap for r laundry! Definetly recommend if you are in Nelson, the guy even helped us find a place for dinner! Perfect relaxing night to help us recover from the Abel Tasman coast track!
A.I'm staying here for two nights to get into Abel Tasman National Park. I got picked up from the Bus, got a tour around and even got my room upgraded. It is really nice with great staff/owners and lots of it is just freshly renovated. Really clean and a great place to stay!
M.Very clean, well decorated hostel with a homey feel and friendly staff. The owners are easygoing and run the hostel efficiently. A fifteen minute walk from the main part of nelson. The supermarket is on the same street ten minutes away. Free wifi. None of the 300mb limit crap I've noticed is so common in New Zealand. Slows down a bit sometimes when usage is high, but is always good enough to use for phone calls or instant messaging. There is free bread replenished every morning, (although they do have a donation jar) and lots of it in all flavors shapes and sizes. Best hostel so far I've been to in New Zealand.
D.We stayed here for one night the room was nice as were the showers and staff. Unfortunately the WiFi sucks and a previous guest had been smoking in our room so it smelt badly of cigarette smoke. We asked to change but all the rooms were booked up - a bit if a shame!
M.Best backpacker / hostel I have been so far in New Zealand. The beds are confi and there is free breakfast and free wifi. The owners and staffs / woofers are great. I even stay as a woofer after few days. Sunny Nelson is a great place to stay. close enough from Abel Tasman Park.
