J.A great stay here for 3 nights, the service up front was super welcoming and very helpful for giving me locals advice, thanks Rob. Rooms were what youd expect for the price, were clean and comfy though (I had a mixed dorm). Wasnt too loud although rooms are near alleyways where the loud people tend to wander on saturday nights so beware. I didn't think it was an issue. AC in our room was soooo good for summer. Finding kitchen shelf space and fridge space was hard but it was long weekend so I assume thats why. Great location eith plenty to do, hired the bikes for $10 half day, super cheap, they are cheap bikes though but fully worth it when you ride the waterfront. Would come again.
c.Haven’t stayed there but the staff was nice enough to inform us of the noise upon online booking as it is located above a restaurant and a bar. It’s obviously going to be loud on New Year’s Eve. They cancelled it for at no cost. That’s really appreciated. Thank you 😊

M.The location is awesome. Close to the coastal walk's center. The facilities were okay. Shower without a lock, no lockers at all, the mattress wasn't really comfy either. The staff was super friendly and engaged in various conversations, which was nice. They also have a cute dog. Staying there for two nights was okay, but it felt weird leaving all my valuables in the room, where anyone could access them any time. They do offer to lock your stuff in their office though.
Also, there seems to be a pub close by, which means it can get quite loud in the rooms.
D.Great Hostel with great people. We were there for one night. Clean rooms, kitchen was clean and had everything that was needed. There is a great outdoor deck on the second level that overlooks the beach/town that is a great spot to hang out. Would certainly recommend to anyone who is looking to spend a night in New Plymouth
L.A friendly hostel, both in terms of staff and guests. Kitchen was fairly standard, so nothing to complain about there. The ensuite in the room was a nice touch. The location, being very close the water front and inner town, was great. Overall, I would recommend.
L.Probably one of the best backpackers I've been to, not because of just the facilities but because of the people that worked there that were quick to deal with any problems I had and sincere about it. The only issue is that the dog dog that roams around (not sure which manager it belongs to) although adorable got hair in my food when I was having dinner. And as my fellow backpackers know, food is VERY important. SUPER duper location, right in the heart of the art district right next to the beach and meters from the bar which was and will always a huge plus 😂
M.Fantastic place. The owner and manager are amazing people and they really make you feel welcome. Clean hostel. The only thing was that hostel is on top of a bar so it's very loud in the weekend. Aircon in the rooms and nice bathrooms.

Does get very loud being above a bar, so if you fancy somewhere for a nice peaceful weekend away then it’s not the one!
E.Pros: Friendly hosts tidy comfortable rooms very close to main town and site seeing areas, free to do your own thing within reason. Cons: no free parking until after 5pm and nothing very close that unless you can snag the carpark in the front of backpackers. 9/10 great place

A.An absoloute mansion in downtown CBD of New Plymouth. 3min walk to the Coastal walkway and bikeway, with bike hire mountain bikes.

A.a good place if you want to lay your head for a few days. it is clean and cheap. staff is quick and efficient. would definitely recommend this place to travelers. another good point for this place it is right in the city. heaps of restaurants and pubs around the place. the coastal walkway is just opposite. there is a small mall around with a few stores. on the whole a good place.
T.Friendly staff and closest as possible to the water front. Everything is a little bit 'well used', but it was clean. Good place to stay a few nights. At weekends it could be loud in the room at night.
Y.Really great spot if you are arriving in New Plymouth by bus. Located directly opposite library and museum. Surrounded by cafes and bars. One block to beach and also a short walk the famous Len Lye art gallery(really worth a visit). View from my window at night below
J.Very dirty kitchen. Poor barely functional appliances. Very noisy bars near by. But overall staff are pleasant. Onsite laundry is nice. Terrace offers a great view.
A.Ended up staying longer than expected due to a few mishaps... I’m glad I chose this hostel - great staff: chill, friendly and easy going. I’m a cycle tourist and they were very accommodating with me and my bicycle. Thank you!
J.Nice hostel with a very nice and helpful staff ! The building is quite old but clean ! The only bad thing was about the big dog in the kitchen. It was a bit annoying while we were cooking.
J.Ariki is the place to stay! Been here a couple of times now and always feel at home. The staff are absolute legends, the place is clean and well equipped, it's right in the centre of town and did I mention how cool the staff are?!
M.Clean, friendly, relaxed and safe. This place is situated near the waterfront and close to everything. I will stay here again and recommend to others who want budget accommodation.
M.Good for groups. Not much to see. No free WiFi! The nice boat trip along the river is probably the best thing to do. Also there are free Bikes available.

The owner smells human and is very kind.
The facilities are also neat, so it's okay to stay.
Still, from Thursday evening to Saturday evening, the pub on the first floor just below turns into a club, so it's no joke and noisy until 3 am.
Not only the sound but also the vibration caused by the sound is felt.
You can just think that you are sleeping until 3 o'clock.
If it's noisy, it might be better to find another place for someone who can't sleep.
However, it is a quiet and pleasant environment from Sunday to Wednesday, so it is really nice to stay here.
The owner who runs the accommodations here is so good that I recommend it.
One tip is that room 10, which is closest to the kitchen, is the loudest, and from rooms 8 or 7 the sound is a little quieter.
The quietest places in Club Sori are rooms 2, 3, and 4, but these are single and double rooms.

여기 주인이 너무 좋음.
주인분이 사람냄새나고 너무 친절하다.
시설도 나름 깔끔하니 지내기에 괜찮다.
그래도 목요일 저녁부터 토요일 저녁에는 바로 밑에 1층에 있는 펍이 클럽으로 변해서 새벽 3시까지는 장난아니게 시끄럽다.
소리뿐만이 아니라 소리에 의한 진동까지 느껴진다.
그냥 3시까지는 잠자기 글렀다고 생각하면 된다.
시끄러운면 잠을 못 자는 사람한테는 다른곳을 찾는 것이 더 나을 수 있다.
하지만 일요일 부터 수요일까지는 조용하고 쾌적한 환경이라 이때는 여기서 지내기 정말 좋다.
여기 숙박시설을 운영하는 주인분이 너무 좋으셔서 나는 강추한다.
한가지 팁이 있다면 부엌과 가장 가까운 10번 방이 가장 시끄럽고 8번이나 7번방부터는 소리가 조금 작아진다.
클럽소리에서 제일 조용한 곳은 2번, 3번, 4번 방인데 여기는 1인실이랑 2인실방이다.

Hôtel très bien situé, personnel sympathique, belle terrasse, lignes de bus juste à côté de l'auberge ! Cependant la cuisine n'est pas très bien entretenue, la gazinière est très loooooongue ne soyez pas pressé pour manger ! Et manque de peau, pas de lumière dans la salle de bain, nous avons dû utiliser une lumière de bureau.
