M.My dog could stay!! Short notice, needed place to allow my dog.
And wow, amazing clean room, stove, fridge etc.
Outdoor area was blocked off, so dog could go out and not worry.
Do recommend ringing if you have pet as only certain rooms have the availability as website doesn't let you advise you have dog. Did wake in morning to a leak in roof, but I got my sleep and was checking out, so wasn't biggie.
You get some free net.
D.Having decided at the last minute to go to Palmerston North for our 50th wedding anniversary & having our wee dog we searched motels that are pet friendly & the Big Five was one that we liked the look of. We were not disappointed with our choice. On arrival we not only had a warm friendly welcome but we were upgraded to a lovely spacious unit that was presented beautifully. The bed was so comfortable & pillows were soft just like ours at home making for a good nights sleep. Chocolates & biscuits on the table were a lovely touch. Many thanks for making our one night stay so enjoyable. We will be back.

M.Clean, comfortable unit with modern decor and fittings. Our only negative comment was that the room was a little tight on space for breakfast but this was only because we had such a big supportive bed. Just meant we had to rearrange a little but with such a nice bed it was a happy compromise. Lovely people and they even found some missing jewellery and got it back to us safe and sound. Nice walk to town. Recommended.

P.We have just spent 2 weeks visiting the lower North Island, and the Big Five Motel was the nicest, cleanest unit we stayed in. Also, it was very good value compared to others we used. Jenni is an extremely nice host, and it was no problem for her to put our frozen trout in their personal freezer for us. We would thoroughly recommend this motel.

The stay is great value for money and the service is excellent, our unit is neat, tidy, cozy and comfortable - i especially love the biscuits and lollies. A.Our beautiful husky gets separation anxiety so when we had a business trip in Palmerston North, we were keen to find a place where he could join us. Not expecting much, we were more than pleasantly surprised at how lovely this accommodation is. You would never know that dogs also stayed there. Bed was very comfortable, kitchen fully functional and gorgeous. If we visit Palmerston North again, we will definitely return. Highly recommended with or without a dog :-)

T.Thank you so much for our great stay, we turned up with out booking but were offered a fantastic unit, very very clean and modern with lots of well appointed extras. J.My wife and I went to the hotel at 3am, which is terrible as we do not know motels here check in early. We have nowhere to stay and they accepted us. The environment is gorgeous. The owner is warm and nice. We love this place and I will recommend our friends to come and stay if they come to Palmerson North. Highly recommended!
J.We are regulars me my partner and our beautiful clean little 🐕 the man in the office is a nice person and the cleaners are quite pleasant ladies to talk to and we'll go out of there way to get or make shore we were looked after do thank you

S.Clean and tidy. Staff friendly. But no milk given. Window lefted open when we arrived at 9pm. Bathroom door never shut proby or locked. No enough room in carpark.
N.After travelling from huntly to palmerston north we were guided right outside of Big Five Motel! After I googled the motel for its ph number, i woke up the owner who gracefully and sleepily sd to give her 10mins! Praise the Lord...Our room is big enough for our family and very cosy n comfortable, we love it!!
A.Great place to stay, nice location and friendly staff... Would suggest using different types of heating in the bedrooms, as fan heaters are a little loud for keeping the room warm during a winter stay
