R.We stayed here three weeks ago and the stay was great. Rooms are very nice and there was a decent view of the lake from our room.
The staff are all super friendly, made the stay even better.
We needed to leave our car for three weeks while we went back to Auckland. The management staff were very helpful and we came to a very reasonable arrangement to leave our vehicle in the basement carpark. They could of said no but they didn't. Over and above! Thank you
L.Nice room. Lovely comfortable large bed! Clean and tidy. Was somewhat surprised that there was no air conditioning, but thankfully there was a fan we found in the wardrobe!
C.Loved this place we had a free upgrade with beautiful views of the lake and the room was so big it had a separate bedroom with its own tv , their was 2 tv's and separate toilet in the living areas and all amenities. The staff was amazing so friendly especially Marven and Johnny couldn't wish for better and lovely cocktails with happy hour too would definitely stay here again.
D.Stayed here with some friends for a girls weekend, rooms were lovely, the staff were lovely and the view was to die for! Also had an incident where my Bluetooth speaker fell behind the tv and I was unable to retrieve, I called the front desk and they sent the most helpful girl ever! She made a device to retrieve it for me and came back and forth three times helping. Definitely appreciate all the efforts and the kindness your staff showed. I was unable to get her name but if you see this thank you again!!

V.Our group enjoyed three days being spoilt at the Copthorne. The rooms were lovely and spacious with amazing lake views. The meals were excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful. It is an easy walk downhill to the bus stop and town centre. As it is a steep road a taxi home is the way to go for seniors.
R.We recently stayed at the Copthorne Lakefront and found the atmosphere very friendly and professional. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to the impending lockdown in New Zealand. The restaurant catered to guests with a limited selection of food, albeit of high quality.

J.Lovely spacious, clean room and excellent ameniities. Close to CBD so walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Spacious bathroom, however water pressure for shower was not great. Outside private patio (ground floor) needed a good clean and plants/trees needed trimming to be able to see the view advertised. Overall, good for the price and would go there again (but ask for a room on a higher level!).
E.Stayed here back in Jun 2009 when I was in NZ for the first time. Thoroughly enjoyed the lake and mountain scenery. The hotel lobby is a wide open space and very welcoming with timber furnishings and high ceiling. The rooms are clean and big, and the hotel is located close to the town center with all the shops and restaurants. It would be great to visit again.
J.Wow, don't even need to finish the trip to rate this place. We're on the 4th floor with a beautiful view from our balcony and here until Tuesday as a birthday treat from my other half. Marie chose this hotel and I'm so glad she did. Stunning hotel room, kind enough to let us check in a couple of hours later and super friendly staff. This hotel alone has made this the best trip I've had in a long time and I'm definitely keen to come back. Thank you!
S.Spacious rooms for 2 of us. The shower wasn't great was the only minor let down. Great having the breakfast option as well.
The staff were super helpful and friendly. Handy location to the town centre, good off street parking which was a bonus, as carparking in Queenstown is a nightmare.

j.We stayed here for 2N 3D and wow, i must say all the staff there are very friendly and have excellent hospitality skills! The room was very clean and spacious, excellent breakfast buffet! They are also very accommodating to our requests. One morning i ordered coffee from their restaurant and it was perfect! I’m a coffee enthusiast and upon tasting their coffee, I wondered why I even bothered going to those other cafes in QT that are popularly known for their coffees accdg to websites when the coffee at copthorne is way better! Everyone at the restaurant were very friendly and attentive. Apart from this, the location of the hotel is a very short walking distance to the central which is great as we didn’t hire a car this time. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Copthorne and will definitely go back and recommend this hotel! :)
b.Our stay was amazing. The hotel was stunning, the view of the lake from our room was breathtaking, beds were very soft and comfortable, the bar does $13 cocktails between 5-6pm, there is a free spa, and the location was excellent- only a 3 minute walk down the hill (left side as you exit the hotel) and you are in the city centre.
A.Love how close to town it is 7 mins ( downhill). Then there's the walk back. Not sure how long that takes because we were way too lazy and caught a taxi back. Great food options and prompt room service.
S.The view from our split level was fabulous. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean if dated. The general repair of the decor was a bit depressing, holes in the walls and cracks around the door frames etc. The floor and couch were not clean and there was 'stuff' under the couch, towels or something, we didn't look any further. It was warm and the staff were lovely and helpful. Would probably look for something closer to town next time to make walking easier for our 2 small kids.

J.Perfectly acceptable standard room, think the description of 'superior' was a bit of a stretch. Close to town, friendly staff. Quite noisy - people and cars outside and the many screaming children inside whose parents thought it was okay for their children to play in the hallways.

R.Safe option if you are looking for accommodation around this star-rating/price point. Interior as you would expect: clean and tidy, room amenities up to standard but nothing extravagant.
Views across the lake from premium rooms and hotel bar are incredible. Other rooms do have views onto interior courtyard and obviously cost less as a result.
The two spa pools can be booked for 45 minute sessions (no cost) at reception and are a nice premium feature and appreciated after a day of walking.
Stay here for: walkable to town centre, quiet nights sleep, spa pool, amazing views from premium room.
Avoid if you want: 5-star luxury, air-conditioning.

R.The view from the room was incredible. The room was also clean and spacious. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to Queenstown Gardens and the city centre.
The hotel is currently under external renovation so looks a bit messy outside, but inside is fine.
During peak season on-street parking is a nightmare, you're better to pay $10 per day to get an on-site park, a lot less stressful.
Q.Had a great experience during my 6 night stay here (Jan 2021). All the staff were friendly and attentive. The room service was impeccable. The spa pool was a joy to use.
The continental buffet breakfast + hot breakfast in the morning was of good quality and definitely sufficient to last until lunch.
The room was clean and modern with a nice little balcony overlooking the lake. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. The walk into town is fairly easy as well and parking was only charged once for the duration of the stay.
E.Dated, but not awful. The location is very good although I would not consider it "lakeside" more like "near the lake" we did gave a nice view from our room. Queenstown is VERY hilly and the walk to town is short but steep, so bear that in mind when looking at hotels if you have elderly, infirm or very out of shape people in your group. They seem to be working on refurbishment. The rooms are ordinary, mid level chain hotel rooms. The furniture isn't awful. But worn. Dinged and scraped. Everything could use a deep scrub. The beds are VERY comfortable and the pillows better than most. The bathroom is basic, with the usual ridiculous lack of shelves or any space to put toiletries. The shower is one of the tub/shower combos with the dreaded thin, not pristine, shower curtain. The water pressure is variable with the time of day. Never robust, but not terrible. Staff is friendly.

V.Best service I have had from a hotel in years. And everywhere else I have gone to have been lovely, but these guys...just really extra welcoming and made me feel at home. And literally a couple of minutes walk from Queenstown. Spa was excellent, and free! 10/10
b.A bit of a shock when I arrived and found all the building work. Not warned about it at all by my travel agent. It was a pity as it took the shine off what could have been an OK visit. No air conditioning in the room - I don't know if this was related to the works? A bit of a noisy fan in the room was the alternative.
On the plus side, friendly staff, clean spacious rooms with good views, a very cheap guest laundry and a fabulous location a few minutes walk through the little park into the centre of Queenstown.
Worth a stay after the building work is over.
O.The hotel was undergoing renovations when we stayed so will improve. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable but we didn't have a great sleep as the room fridge was very noisy but reception did give a discount when we mentioned it. All in all it was just OK.
K.A really clean room with a short distance to town. Good parking options-off street or paid. Loved the hot tub and that it was private. Got the lake view and it was the best decision ever made. Didn't try the room service but it looked decently priced actually so worth a shot. I would book again as its tucked away nicely away from the hustle of town but it's less than 10 mins walking.

The rooms are spacious with balconies overlooking the lake if you have a lake view. A short walk to town. Was hard to pick when there are so many options in town but this was a great location, price and value. Parking was $20 for the whole stay.
M.Only stayed there 1 night last week when we went up to Queenstown, the room was nice and clean. My 5 years old son lovely the spa bath, beautiful view from our room. It's convenient to city centre, they have all the facilities you can ask for. Guess the only downside was it was a long way walk to our room since it was at the very end of the hall way but no biggie.
C.I stayed here once in 2017 for my skiing holiday. Perfect location, comfortable room with very little noises. The only downside was the blanket they used is not as soft nor comfortable compared with other hotels. And also you can get lost easily in the hotel as the layout is like a maze. But otherwise I would be happy to stay here again in the future.

A.Comfortable and spacious room, not Luxurious as claimed. No bedside reading light other than very bright halogens in the ceiling. Lacks air conditioning, even closing blinds and opening doors and windows the room is too hot. Ongoing renovation suggests continued investment. Slow WiFi, continually buffering. Breakfast is of a lower standard than one would expect from the hotel rating. No indoor swimming pool as claimed by the owner on Google.

Z.This hotel is superb. It’s has a great location, right next to the bus stop and 10minute stroll to the Centre of Queenstown. Room was very tidy and the bathroom was adequate. Would definitely recommend getting a lake view room as the views are stunning. The hotel staff are very friendly and attentive. The buffet breakfasts as tasty and had plenty of choices to enjoy. The hotel lay out is quite strange but you will get used to it. Only thing would be to update the t.v. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
S.Distance from town centre is very good. Not far and an overall easy walk. However, felt a bit mislead with the name lakefront. My room did not have a view at all and looked into another block of rooms. There wasn't airconditioning so days where the weather was hot, the room could get really warm and not comfortable.
Visited during Summer so this the warm part especially really made the stay not so nice.
D.The hotel is quite established (read older) but work has been done (and continues) to bring rooms & common areas up to date. I couldn't fault the Lakeview Room ; it was big, had an exceptionally comfy bed with heaps of pillows, a desk with chair and a couple of big chairs by the window. Everything in the bathroom was fine, it did have the shower over the bath but that is to be expected in older places and the fittings were modern. All the staff we encountered, at reception and the bar, were friendly, helpful & efficient. We booked the spa and were pleasantly surprised by the 7 person spa pool (only 3 hooks on the wall however for clothes/towels etc. and the floor gets wet). Location is great, it's just far enough away for some peace and quiet but close enough for an easy 5-10 minute walk into the hustle and bustle of Queenstown. And if you get the bus from the airport, the stop is virtually outside the door.

I'd give a 5 but they don't provide tissues or a showercap in the bathroom in your room. And the shower water pressure is a tad aggressive! But I'd go back anytime as the location is fantastic with a very short walk to town

C.Convenient location near the CBD and botanical garden. Due to the terrain, the hotel is built on different levels. Our room, on the 5th floor was actually connected to the ground floor reception level. Clean, comfortable room. Could not find temperature control and it got warm in the room. Had guest laundry. C.This hotel has such amazing hospitality and close to the center of queenstown. The bus stop is less than a minute away and made site seeing and travel easy. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a beautiful Lakeview room. Our room was clean, warm and modern. The buffet breakfast was accommodating to all and had a big variety. The staff was ready to answer all of our questions and ready to help. Being able to book a private hot pool topped our experience off. Would definitely recommend Copthorne hotel and resort and definitely would visit again.
P.Was a comfortable room with a lovely view but due to the design and age of the hotel the room was a long walk from reception. Beds were comfortable to sleep in but were small and rather soft. Also no air conditioning just a fan and bathroom sink was blocked and shower (over bath) sprayed onto the floor if not careful. For the price I expected better even in Queenstown but they get a lot of tour group business so I suspect not worried about domestic tourist experience.
E.Booking here was the best decision made .From the phone call to the stay it was 5star. The staff were amazing especially SAM FROM ENGLAND. The room was great for us with the spectacular views of the lake . I recommend this hotel to other guests without hesitation . Must not forget the FREE SPA it was wonderful, clean big and private . T.The view from our hotel room window was mindblowingly beautiful - snowy mountain peaks, beautiful lake, green hills, everything...! Also, on a clear night we saw the Southern Cross stars sitting right at our window. Did not use the hotel …

B.Rooms and beds are really nice. Location walkable to town no problem. The layout of the hotel is a bit complex and some rooms are not intuitive to get to (e.g. need to take 2 different lifts). Secure parking is $10/night or $20 for the whole stay, but generally street parking is available nearby.
s.Great lake view hotel, free bus shuttle from hotel opposite down to town but is walkable. Attentive efficient and friendly staff. Block 1 rooms have been refurbished but they are supposed to be a green hotel but the bathroom fan runs 24/7. Food is great.
C.The room was fairly nice but that's all that we enjoyed. The breakfast was really bad. All of the eggs. Bacon, sausage, etc was about half cooked if that. Did not look safe to eat anything with meat. After the third day we were very ready to find something else for breakfast. Also it took until about 5pm for them to clean our room every day. Shower head was pretty crappy and very low water pressure.
C.The lake view supereior rooms are amazing and well worth the little bit extra. To wake up to a stunning lake view is something else and truly a MUST if you're staying here. However, the "king" beds are just two king singles pushed together which means they come apart easily in the night, which was the only downfall of the room. Hotel rooms were clean with complimentary coffee and tea, which was a nice start to the mornings. Have to book the spa in advance, so make sure you get in quick - all in all, good experience aside the bed, with one of the best views I've had in a hotel, ever.
L.People here are friendly. The hotel is situated close to the township (less than a 5 min walk into town) there is also a lot of off street parking- total convenience. The rooms and nice clean and tidy. You still get a really nice view of the lake too (dependant on your booking).
C.We stayed at night at Copthorne. I think they could improve their services further. For a 4 stars hotel, I was hoping they would provide parking, air conditioner, and heater. However, these were not provided. These items are basic necessities for a high standard hotel. The room we stayed in was okay. There was a step to bathroom that was basically tripping everyone when you are not paying attention. Overall, it is an okay hotel. For it's price my expectation was not met.
A.Bed was really good. Room service was quick and still hot. The ice cream is so good I recommend it for sure. Good Wi-Fi. Great staff members. Room was nice and clean and good price. s.Superb hotel. Absolutely stunning lake views and what an awesome location. So close to everything. Makes things so convenient. Also the service is great. Staff is very courteous and polite. V.This place is quite big with different wings and can be a bit confusing. The rooms were clean with some views of the lake and mountains.
We stayed in a room with 2 beds and there was plenty of room. Standard hotel room, nothing stood out. Not far, but not right outside of the village. Possibly a 10 minute walk. So during the winter and the cold, some people may choose to drive which makes it a little inconvenient.
Parking was available, which there were 2 different parking areas so be aware of where you park!
T.Great location to town, 10 min walk down hill to main shopping area and attractions. Room had all the basic amenities. Considering the number of tours they have, the hotel does not cope very well with groups of people: we got fed up waiting for our luggage and went to retrieve it ourselves.
T.Excellent views over the lake. Walking distance from town (10 mins). Loads if places to eat nearby. Rooms have safe, kettle, coffee, tea, hairdryer. Wifi free limited each day to 2GB. Good breakfast. Had one evening meal here which was nice.

M.I stayed 3 days in this hotel in different days and had the opportunity to see 3 different types of rooms. The first one had a small balcony and lake views, very pretty! The second, smalles at the back of the hot tubs room had no view but access to a garden which was convenient. The third one was very small with a view of a side garden, ask what you are getting when book and beware. There is no AC I think because the weather is mild but there were some moments where we needed to open all windows, the door, and crank the ventilator tl be comfortable. The smallest room has windows that can barely open so beware if you go during the summer.
The hotel has coin laundry rooms (besides regular laundry services) very convenient when visiting Queenstown where everything is on the outdoors and access to the lake.
C.Nice hotel with mountain and lake views! Within walking distance to downtown area but not in the center. Has a spa and they provide access to the fitness center across the street at their sister property if interested because there's isn't one on site. Has a bar and restaurant also.
G.Great Lakeview Rooms and Staff are very helpful. Nice and clean rooms and great atmosphere. A short 10 min walk through the Park to the Centre of town. Queenstown is a great place to visit and Ski Fields are exceptional.

A.We enjoyed our stay here. Good location walking distance to the city center. Friendly and helpful staff at check in and check out. Tidy, comfortable room. Appreciated the complimentary late check out but housekeeping didn't get the memo and came knocking early.

B.Extremely comfortable hotel, lovely room, very clean, cracking shower, friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is situated on the hill going down hill into town is fine but is a bit of a climb for anyone with a disability to return. On the upside, just a few quid to take you back to the hotel.
Queens town is extremely busy and the eateries and restaurants often have a queue for tables in the evening.
T.On some of the reviews I read they suggested that the rooms were a little run down but that was not my experience at all. The location of this hotel could not be better. There were some people I guess watching a sports match. Housekeeping kept everything immaculately clean throughout the stay.
S.Beautiful place very convenient to the main center/ shops of Queens town. Everything was just 5 to 10 min walking distance. Hotel had clean room, contained mini fridge, security box, hair dryer and electric water kettle. They don't have microwave in the hotel room. Hence gave one star less otherwise it was a good stay and paid for the parking a one time fee$20 for 3 night stay there in June. Which was very convenient as the street parking was hard to find.
K.Location was great and the view was wonderful. The bathroom needed a good deep clean as there was mold on the ceiling and stickers stuck to the shower wall. The breakfast was subpar and we're a little upset we prepaid for it. It's an ok hotel otherwise.
L.View - Go for the lake view room.. the best view you can get of the lake, mountains and a nice walk out garden porch. Food & drinks - limited but just enough options of both veg n non veg options. Great pizza n fries. Good breakfast spread too. Room - size could be larger. Has a heater, Tv n a comfy bed. Bathroom is small with a tub for bathing. Staff - since the lake view room are at the bottom would help if the staff cud help wid carrying the luggage down as there is no lift to go from 3rd to 2nd floor n if u r carrying heavy luggage it becomes a task n an unpleasant experience.

C.Well overpriced. The worst walking back here from the clubs. Great customer service and beautiful views. No aircon or smart TV to connect to Netflix and the rooms are not the best quality BUT the breakfast buffets really cure hangovers from partying the night before. Overall, not the best but not bad.
S.Rooms were relatively comfortable but gets really stuffy and hot in the summer. The hotel has a really good cafe and restaurant. Lack of wifi is utterly disappointing and makes the hotel's service standards archaic considering many other cheaper alternatives around the area offer free wifi.
K.A nice comfortable hotel near all the action of the city. A great walking trail nearby that follows the lakefront. Can walk to the downtown area in 10 minutes. Clean and a helpful staff. Will stay again if in the area.
j.View from the rooms are amazing. Only a 5 minute walk away from town centre and plenty of on street parking available around the hotel as well. Just gets a bit cold during winter time and the small heater they have in the room isn't enough.
m.Hotel well situated, at 5 mn walk from the main streets, and the wharf. Confortable room. Problem with breakfasts, continental 20$, very limites choices, with no juces etc, is far too expensive compared to the full one 28$ with plainy of choices .. like if one want to " push" the custumer to the full one. Not fair. Just review and upgrade the continental breakfast " politic" for the last STAR ...
M.BEAUTIFUL view right outside your patio door! Also, the included buffet breakfast has lots of great options. Only complaint is that the room was really cold by the window, even with the heater on.
S.Lovely views but no aircon and very dated decor. Nothing overly bad about the hotel but for the money you are only paying for the location not a luxury hotel. Make sure you get a lake view room or again very expensive.
H.The radiator in the room was broken, called to the reception and was given a small portable heater to be used for the night. We requested for a change of room and luckily there was a smaller room available for us.
The manager was efficient when doing his job but could be more friendly during the check in process. His poker face made us feel as if we weren't welcomed at the hotel.

T.Its a quick walk down-hill into the main town so good location. Forced to go to queenstown in winter on business I was able to survive in a very nice lakefront hotel with magnificent views of the lake and mountains. Breakfast place is quite big but food choices are not ***y.
K.The room is comfortable, and nice room temperature control on a cold early spring. Bed is soft but good to sleep in, and best things, has enough pillows for my habit.
