m.Very tidy and clean. The receptionist at this lodge was very friendly and accommodating. If you are wanting an affordable and central place to stay in Queenstown then I would 10/10 recommend.
L.Extremely clean accommodation and one of the nicest and cleanest kitchen facilities I have seen in Queenstown. The room were really private but unfortunately not really sound proof. We didn't get much sleep because of intoxicated people staying up all night hence the 4 stars review.

If you ask, you can arrange to sleep in the carpark in your van (size depending). Enjoy!
I.My first time in a hostel and I was very impressed. The facilities are kept to a high standard, the beds are comfy and the sheets + duvet are extremely comfy. Bathrooms are kept clean and are well looked after. The location of the lodge is ideal for hiking and for the town. Finally, the staff are extremely helpful, welcoming and are able to help with certain tours! I would highly recommend.

J.Overall great one week stay here. Place is clean, equipped kitchen, great privacy curtain and own cable & light. Bunk bed is a little shaky and make noise when going up or down, and pillow is too soft that I couldn't sleep well.
L.Comfy beds with private curtains and plenty of storage. Definitely a nice hostel to meet people and be social. Long-termers do tend to take up quite a bit of space in the kitchen
L.Pros: We had a nice stay at Haka Lodge overall. The double bed room was good size and the bed/pillows were comfy. We were given towels and a hot water bottle with the room. The shared showers always heated up and had great pressure (although if you are taller than 5'8" you may have some issues with them). Kitchen was clean and functional. Location CANNOT be beat! Everything in town is super close, and there was street parking near the hostel.
Cons: The one major downside of our stay was the lack of presence of Haka Lodge staff. In the four days of our stay, I saw someone at the reception desk once. (Although we were kindly checked in after hours by one staff member when we first arrived.) I realize we were staying at the lodge in the off-season, but it seemed like no one was working to run the hostel. I had really wanted to ask advice on activity planning and local recommendations, but it simply was not possible since the reception was always empty. The invisible staff problem extended to the maintenance of the facilities as well; for example, the kitchen was not opened on time in the morning. In addition, our bedroom was rather dark (would have appreciated some more ceiling lights) and the wifi was quite finicky.
Y.I was recommended by a friend who stayed over here as well. It didn't let me down. Great comfy room with luggage storage underneath the bed and powerpoint just at your head side. The privacy curtain for the bed definitely makes you more comfy during the nights. Super friendly staff and great travellers as company. It is close to everything within walking distance. For parking, they only have a few parking spots on site, but lots of 2h parking on the street for daytime and unlimited parking for nights.
C.A clean, well equipped hostel that has everything you need to spend a night including a warm friendly atmosphere. The staff there truly go the extra mile to provide good customer service and make everyone feel welcome. The staff are also have a wealth of local knowledge and can provide you with advice to make the most of your time in and around Queenstown.
A.Best backpacks/hostel I have ever been to. Kitchen and living room were really tidy and well maintained so were the bathrooms and showers.
And the room that me and my partner were in was clean and cosy.

t.Really exceeds my expectations.. nice and clean place.. friendly staff.. it is not like the other backpacking places where you can't stand to stay. There is a big kitchen with everything you need and a laundry room as well. Would recommend to anyone
D.As always, even under the current difficult circumstances, Haka delivers exactly what it says it will. Clean, well maintained and conveniently located Haka Lodge is a great base for Queenstown adventures.
Aoife and her team do great work, they are unfailingly friendly and helpful with everything they can be. Summer delivered a concise, comprehensive and incredibly helpful check in service and I cannot recommend the hostel highly enough.
D.Wonderful place to stay in the central Queenstown near all the happening places. the facility is cosy and clean with all the amenities and wonderful staff. It’s a places that respects guests privacy hence no noise policy in late hours. Some rooms have wonderful views of the Skyline.
T.Extremely clean hostel! Beds were super comfy (one of the better beds I’ve slept on and I’ve been to a couple of hostels). Toilets and kitchenS were clean all the time. WiFi was great. Hostel isn’t noisy and the staff were nice and friendly!
P.We got ourself a lovely little double room near the toilets. Staffs were friendly and very helpful. Location of the lodge is superb with on site parking. Only 5 minutes walk away from the main town area tucked away peaceful for a quiet night's rest.
V.Pro side it’s the best location ever it’s just a few minutes walk to Queenstown central, eateries, supermarkets, Lake, Park etc. A short walking distance to Skyline Gondola and world famous Fergburger cafe and restaurant. Staff are friendly, lounge room is comfy and got 2 kitchens which are big and sufficient to cook a simple meal. Con side, the dorm room is too stuffy and warm unless you open the door at night while sleeping. By the way $2 per towel. Overall I like the hostel due to its good location and reasonable room rate.
A.Perfect location and friendly atmosphere. Wooden beds with individual curtains and outlets are a big plus. Everything is clean and facilities are sufficient. Solely the hostel's layout is a little confusing and inconvenient.

In town but set back from the bars and clubs the location offers a great balance for whatever you want to do. Aoife and her team do sterling work and are unfailingly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Summer delivered a superbly comprehensive introduction to the hostel.
For the balance of price, quality of service and convenience of location you can't beat Haka Lodge for Queenstown accommodation.
