We stayed 7 nights and the main room was fabulous and large with plenty of sitting area with 2 comfy chairs to watch tv or view outside. It opened out onto an outside terrace to the side and a balcony at the front. It had a hand grip on the wall to help us oldies to manoeuvre getting in and out of the bath for a shower. This is important to us these days. Great staff, very clean, comfy bed, bathroom a bit tired but will definitely stay here again in this room

We enjoyed our stay here, my son was quite happy. Only thing that does not go well was our room was not ready when we reached that but the staff was polite and professional. And also there was no drinking water bottle, when we asked for it they asked us to drink from tap from washroom which we did not liked. Except that overall it was good experience

I give this 4 1/2 to be exact. Handy to town. It is clean, staff very good and the breakfast was great. Minus half a star comes mainly in the form of the shower over the bath. Found it alittle uncertain with my footing and the odd bits around the unit requiring some attention. But loved my stay and would gladly tell others to come and stay. My added bonus was a front view of the lake from the balcony:)

Very good value stay. We stayed for 4 nights full buffet breakfast included. Room clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. Covid rules as specified on website were strictly adhered to so we felt well protected. Parking availability a wee bit of a lottery and might be an issue at busier times.

Excellent location, just 5 mins walk to city center. Staff are very helpful. Room is clean and serviced daily. Good value.

Had a good night's rest at this scenic hotel in Queenstown. Ours was a basic big-sized room with a nice balcony overlooking the lake. The balcony provided a spectacular view of Lake Wakatipu and the Queenstown gondola. Breakfast at the restaurant was sumptuous with good variety. All the staff at the reception front desk were courteous and helpful answering our queries. They stored our bags after checking us out as we spent a few hours sightseeing. A good hotel that we would recommend to others.

Due to the hotel's close proximity to town, we were able to walk everywhere. The room had a great view and the service was excellent.

Great stay. We got upgraded to a top floor, lake view upon arrival because they knew it was our wedding anniversary which was so nice!! A few things were needing an upgrade. For example, you can’t turn the bathroom fan on yourself, it has an automatic timer and turns on by itself in the early morning and late at night (which was fine noise wise but annoying when you wanted to shower during the day and the room was all steamy). The wifi also did not work very well/took forever to load anything. The bed was also uncomfortable. Very quiet area and friendly staff. Great location!!

Value for money great location nice spacious room. The room decor is abit bland and old which is expected for the price we paid but other than that it was all good. Would definitely be looking them up again when back those way as I often visit Queenstown in the holidays.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at heartland queenstown. The room was clean and staff was friendly. I left my mobile charger and got it back through courier within a day. Good job, heartland.

Awesome stay, perfect location which is a 5 minute walk to the centre of town. The Staff we so friendly and kind. We had mentioned it was my partners Birthday trip and they left a card and chocolates in the room which added such a nice touch and also a free upgrade. We will be staying here again next time we are down in Queenstown and will be recommending it to our friends.

Location, affordability, staff & breakfast are incredible. They can't be faulted. I absolutely love my stay at the Heartland. Rooms are showing signs of age, but they're definitely comfortable. The beds are comfortable as, was quite tough to get out of bed in the morning but breakfast made it worth it. I'll definitely stay there again.

We stayed twice and hence in two different rooms. Both were very big and the second had a great view over the lake. Excellent luggage shelves and two easy chairs. Good bedside reading lamps. Unfortunately both rooms had very tired decor and stained carpets, and the easy chairs looked decidedly grubby. We would have paid more for a better room if we had been given the opportunity. Nevertheless we would probably stay there again - but not in those rooms.

5 stars all around, definitely going to this hotel the next time I’m in Queenstown

I had a wonderful stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and clean. I got a handwritten welcome card which really makes a difference. Location wise it was ideal for me. Close to Queenstown Hill trail as well as the mall and gardens. Would definitely stay here again.

I stay at heartland once a month for work, and I always have a great stay, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, Liz who works in reception was outstanding on my last trip. although the menu is limited due to COVID19 the food is still top quality. 5+ stars :)

A great location, close to the town. Bathroom a bit dated but overall the room was comfy, spacious, had a fridge and tea, coffee, hot choc etc, a view of the gondola and lake from the back porch. Lobby bar does a good mulled wine and the food looked good too. Thanks for another great stay in this beautiful town

This is an unpretentious hotel with 24/7 service a short walk into queenstown. The cleaners are great and service helpful and friendly

Rooms really warm and very clean. King size bed super comfy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Short walk down to main part of Queenstown. Restaurant not open (atm) but bar is. Really enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I spent a week at this hotel which was amazing, very friendly and helpful staff room was comfortable with great views of the lake. Breakfast was very tasty and a nice variety to choose from. We just want to say thanks we had a awesome stay

Visited this hotel with my partner to stay for 3 nights. Check-in process was done so nice. Both of us are not good English speakers, but no worries. Their explanations are so kind and understandable. Breakfast, served in buffet style is good and the staff there are so professional. And we also enjoyed to play chess at the lobby hall. Sorry, I have one thing to tell. Complementary chocolate drinks in our room were already expired (5 months passed). I know how busy housekeeping staff are, but please check them surely. Anyway, if we get a chance to go to Queenstown, we'll definitely stay again. Thank you very much (^ω^)

The advertised photos did not match the room we stayed in which we got cheaper through booking.com, they showed pictures of the main accommodation which I am sure is nice but our room was hidden away in a dungeon, had not been updated in around 30 years, it was not worth the price we paid. Would have been happy to stay there for a lower price and we were annoyed at the misleading photos.

Friendly staff and clean. Overall a pleasant stay. Only downsides were the shower, it had terrible pressure and the rooms were quite old and showing signs of wear, due for an update. Especially the bathroom. And the parking was awful, not allocated per room and nowhere near enough spaces for the amount of guests

Great hotel and fair price. Amazing location and view. It’s worth paying a little bit more to wake up with the view. Good breakfast and friendly staff as well. I didn’t give 5 stars because I prefer some more convenience in the room.

We stayed in a $360 a night lake view chalet....it turns out we paid only for the (excellent) view, the friendly reception staff, and the date (new years Eve). The room itself was only worth ~$80 a night. Old, stained carpets, dirty shower curtain on the pokey small shower over bath, no extractor fan in the bathroom, no central heating/cooling, old wooden door felt like it would fall apart, toilet seat wasn't even soft-close, drafty wooden window frames, single glazed windows allowing the sounds from all the raucous drunken slurring from people outside, tiny old tv.

Great hotel! Friendly and helpful staff and stylish rooms with awesome retro chairs. Room warmed up super fast and stayed warm and bedding was plenty warm enough for the cold winter nights. We really enjoyed the hotel restraunt and room service, they have a great cook. We loved how close the place was to the CBD and our room had the most amazing views! Would definitely stay there again.

Very close to town, which meant we could just walk. Rooms were good and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover. No aircon, so it was pretty hot in the room at night.

Great stay at a memorable location. Absolutely loved sitting upstairs watching the view from the uniquely designed property. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful and all requests were handled quickly and with a smile! Only recommendations would be for a better system of cooling the upstairs room during the hot weather as the temperature could get quite uncomfortable. A coffee machine could also be provided although the cafe in the reception area provided excellent coffee at a great price a short walk from the room. Thanks for making our Queenstown stay a very memorable and enjoyable one!

Thanks very much to the great Team at Heartland Queenstown. All 8 of us were really appreciative of the staff's friendly, helpful an accommodating manner. Rooms were tidy and roomy, breakfast and dinners were great and a nice little house bar.

w We must have had one of the best rooms in the hotel. It was on the top floor and we had a good view of the town, lake and hills. We also sat on the balcony which is big enough for a table and chairs. Also the weather was excellent.

I stayed for 2 nights and the staff was fabulous. They helped us look at 2 options and happily gave us an upgrade for a bit extra money. And even let us check out an hour late. Really the staff is an asset to the hotel. 💕

Management was good. Rooms tidy. too much noise from the main entrance. doors being open & closed early morning & night. People coming in from late night in town sitting out on balcony till 3.45am interrupted sleep. If you are dinning in the restaurant look out for Jai, He is very professional in his job 10/10. Well done.

The room itself was quite special. The A frame top floor chalet not only offered stunning views over the lake and mountains, but it had charm and personality added in. The room was large and comfortable. The bed was large, although not the comfiest. The bathroom amenities were pleasant without being luxurious. The best parts of our stay were the location, which is perfect, the view and the parking. Really enjoyed our stay overall and all interactions with staff were great too. Many thanks. Great value Very large room. A bit dated. Caulking in shower should be replaced Bit of a walk up a hill from town but location was fine. Room did have a nice view but road is a main road so using balcony or having door open was not really an option

The hotel is very close to Queenstown Mall where I can find all my favorite food, shopping, restaurants and cafés. It is sitting up the hill but it is a good exercise especially after enjoying all the yummy food. Staff are friendly and a lot of Rooms can see the lake.

Stayed here and was booked into the room that had a view of the lake. It is absolutely gorgeous! The room was a bit outdated, the view from the room is amazing and there is also a small balcony with seating. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It is situated on a hill so you don't need to feel guilty going back to the hotel after a big meal because by the time you make it back to your room, you will feel hungry again.

Heartland Hotel is a steep 10-15 minute uphill walk from Queenstown centre. Awesome for improved heart health and daily exercise to walk off those holiday indulgences. We stayed in a 2 bedroom family suite which resembled a small 2 storey townhouse. Gorgeous view of Queenstown mountains. Upstairs had 2 x single beds, TV, table and chairs and a functional kitchenette for basic meals which served its purpose for convenience. ( A set of tongs needs to be added to the kitchen tool set.) Downstairs had a master bedroom and the bathroom. The Customer Service was exceptional and the staff providing the daily room service were wonderful and accommodating. The room was very clean, warm with functional heating and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom is a tight squeeze. The shower sprays in all directions determined to escape the shower curtain. It's a challenge to find a space for clothes to stay dry while showering. Overall, an excellent stay.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We had an amazing stay. We got upgraded to a family suite. It was spacious and had a great view. It is near the heart of the city. So we could walk to all the places. The staff were very friendly and even helped us book our skydive adventure. Overall a great experience.

Great value for money for what they offer. Room was really nice with a little balcony overlooking the lake. Staff couldn't have been more helpful particularly storing our luggage when we arrived early so that we could go up the mountain skiing for the day. Rooms had a small deck suitable for soaking up the views.

The bad: Stayed here in summer and it happened to be quite hot. No air con in the room and opening the windows only helped mildly. Fans are provided but it really just moves the hot air around. Bathroom is very tiny, like, *very* tiny... The good: the four of us stayed in the family chalet room. Beds very comfy. View from upstairs was spectacular. Car park in front of your room. Location is pretty good even though you have to walk up quite a steep hill to get there. Close enough to walk to everything including the skyline gondola. Average overall but maybe would have gained half a star if we’d stayed during cooler months since lack of air con was a major issue for us

My room was nice, spacious and modern, I love the light beside the bed but the bathroom is bad. Fixed wall showers, bathtubs and toilets were so old.

Great accommodation within 10 minute walking distance of pretty much everything in town. Great staff and I want to give a shout out to Callum (I think that was his name?) Who was able to shuffle bookings around and accommodate us for an extra two days we hadn't planned for in the same room at the same price I paid for the first two nights. My only complaint is the cost of laundry. You purchase tokens for the machines at the front desk but it's pretty expensive ($4 per wash, $4 for a dry cycle which didn't quite dry my jeans so I had to spend another $4 for another cycle because I had to pack my suitcase) feels like that's pretty excessive.

I had a great eight night stay at the Heartland Hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable. the breakfasts were first rate and all the staff, Housekeeping, Restaurant and Reception were very helpful and always friendly. I enjoyed my stay, and I for one will be back. Well done Heartland Hotel.

We had an incredible 5 night stay at Heartland Hotel in Queenstown. The room was amazing, with one of the best views we’ve ever had! It was a nice big room, with a really comfortable bed and wonderful heating. The spa bath was a nice touch after a day adventuring in the cold! It’s a short walk to the centre on town, but the walk back is a short, but quite steep walk - something to keep in mind. The restaurant had lovely options for dinner - the seafood chowder was wonderful, as was the tiramisu for dessert! We loved it, and would happily stay here again. My sister and brother in law visited our room briefly and also said they’d look at it for their next visit!

The lake and skyline view from the room was very nice. very comfy bed and cleanliness was on the top. specially staffs are very friendly. Bhanu and Mark both of them are very nice. Night manager was professional and polite. very warm interaction makes feels like home and comfortable. Talking to Bhanu and Mark about my Queenstown trip makes it better with lot of information.

We greatly enjoyed our stay! The amenities were great, the beds were comfortable, everything was clean, the view was phenomenal, the staff was helpful and pleasant. We had no issues and would stay again. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Stayed in the Family Chalet Room (3 Adults) it was awesome. Good room space and clean rooms. Location was fantastic! Would definitely recommend and definitely stay again. Well be back!

Room itself was nice but noise is definitely a problem. My room was in the 200s row and right next to the main road which was very busy and very noisy all hours. Walls are relatively thin and the lawn / patio is shared so if you have noisy neighbors then beware. I would appreciate if there was a safe in the room

Great location, great staff. Room was very warm (too warm at times) but managed to get it right eventually. Tidy well kept room with great view. Just needs a recycling bin :-) 5.00am bus / shuttle was not very exciting outside my room :-( Overall good stay.

On the whole a good hotel. Great location and clean rooms. However, a lack of a microwave and a water fountain for guests to use, has left a poor impression. Unable to reheat food brought from outside, and unable to refill water bottle easily at night. 7 out of 10 overall.

Great hotel great view and great staff that went above and beyond

Loved our stay. The staff are engaging & very helpful. The atmosphere in the bar restaurant is very relaxing which we found good after a long day sightseeing etc. The food is excellent & good pricing. Loved our room with a view of the lake found the bed so comfortable if we could take it home we would lol. Also only 5 min walk to town although good hill to climb on way back lol. All in all a great place to stay

We generally had a great time we thought the only downside was the restaurant service, people had finished her food and empty plates weren't taken away and people were returning there own plates to the kitchen. Both days there were no serial bowls and we had to ask,but generally we had a great stay

Me and my partner stayed at heartland hotel, we did not had any booking and it was late night. staff at reception he offered us very very nice room under our budget. We were carousal and room location was little confusing, but the duty manager send a staff to assist us to the room. bed was comfortable love the view from the room. 5/5 for room, service and to very nice friendly duty manager (banu). sorry if we didn't get the right name. we will definitely coming back at our next visit.

Our "mountain view" room was NOT a mountain view - it was right beside the reception entrance (see photo). Was noisy but otherwise comfortable. This room was booked for me by Holiday Inn (without consulting me) whenn they realized they had overbooked and needed to get my another accommodation. I've given Holiday Inn 1 star and I would have rated this place 3 star, but I'm giving Heartland the benefit of the doubt that they gave me the best accommodation given the short notice booking.

The room was great. It was a good space to move around. It is clean. This is very near the city which is good. We just walk everytime we go to the city. But just beware of the blower as it got my hair burnt with it. Just happened with their blow dryer. I dont know why.

We arrived after our long flight from San Francisco & then a short flight from Auckland. The hotel staff were very nice & put our luggage in storage until the Hotel’s check-in-time. We walked around and took the gondola up to the mountain for some gorgeous view. Walked to the lake restaurants & grabbed a burger & beer at Public Kitchen & Bar. Then showered & basically crashed until morning. The hotel is in a great location & the room was good. Beds were comfortable & cleaning staff were very nice. I’d definitely recommend. We had a great balcony view of the mountain

Loved this place, gorgeous scenery & very relaxed atmosphere. One drawback for me was the split levels, as I have MS so it was somewhat difficult to manage stairs. The view from upstairs was spectacular. Great comfy beds

I stayed here because their scenic suites partner was fully booked when I wanted a room. The location was perfect, about a 10-15 minute walk to the supermarket, shops, dining, and the jetty/harbour area. Staff are great and are eager to please and its obvious the ***agement has taken a lot of effort in their training.

Good location and easy to find only a short walk to the centre. Value for money is an understatement. Staff is exceptional in service. The carpet on the stairs was worn through in places. Walls were thin and noise from driveway could be heard in the room late at night/early morning.

Had a lovely stay in Family Room. Clean and beautiful view. Nice location but very limited parking. Shower facility seems outdated, kitchen and bathroom area is small as most space remained for bedroom area.

Decent hotel with great view if you're lucky and good location. Room a bit stuffy and AC doesn't seem to heat. The rooms are clean but old and showing their age.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room had a great view. However, heater was broken upon arrival, it was replaced promtly the first day but took a day to warm up the room. The shower temperature fluctuated from warm to cold to scalding every few seconds and the clothes line in the shower was inoperable and falling off the wall.

I loved the triangle shape of the rooms, though my friend commented that this might actually make them a bit colder. There is of course heating available. The rooms are very pleasant with modern decor that is not rough on the eye. There are some seats available and there were two beds in our room (assuming it was a family room). The hotel is a short walk from Queenstown central, maybe 5 minutes. It's worth noting that all the rooms are on a steep hill, and the walk to the hotel is also on a hill. Queenstown is quite hilly when you're not in the centre anyway!

Great: Exceptional view on balcony over Queenstown and the lake. Clean and spacious. Nice soaps and lotions Not so Great: Had to climb three flights of stairs, a bit difficult if you have heavy luggages. Balcony chairs and cleaniness could be better.

Would recommend Heartland as a great place to stay. Great location, could easily walk to and from town; with amazing views over Lake Wakatipu. Double glazing means it's not too loud and pretty warm even without using the heating. I found this to be really affordable for its close proximity and it had everything we needed. Will definitely stay again.

The Hotel is well located but to get to the city center and back the road is a good incline but a good walk. Thanks, it makes a big difference to have a friendly welcome. Cars are parked all over and in front of the rooms and makes walking out from the room bit tight.

Makes walking around town easy when you don't have to drive and find a park. I loved the slanted roof of the chalet. We could hear the upstairs neighbour go to the toilet and his/her foot stompings throughout the night. Breakfast was great. Carpark for free included in the price.

Great location and view of lake and mountains, lovely big warm room with good shower, kind attentive staff and good value for money. The bed was a bit springy was the only downside.

We enjoyed our time here. The place is a little dated, with turn keys instead of key cards (some washrooms could use actual counter space), but the views we had were great!! Especially on a clear night at sunset.. Just make sure you ask for a top level room if you want the view.

The rooms were good with a view of the river the only problem is that there's no lift if you have lot of baggage then your gonna find slightly difficult and there are only two floors a ground and a first floor otherwise this place is fine ..

Location is great. An older hotel that is comfortable and clean and a great price.

The rooms and bathrooms are quite good. Just needs a bit of renovation here and there to bring things up to date. One bad experience we had was we put up housekeeping signage outside at 10am. When we came back at around 6pm, the signage was still there and no one had bothered to clean the room.

We booked a last minute trip to queenstown and we're lucky enough to get accommodation here. The bed was comfortable. Our room 428 was very 1960's apart from painting white over the wall paper and putting in an LCD and new bed nothing would have been done with the room since construction.

Had 2 nights here at New Years Eve 2017, and couldn't have asked for a better experience. All the staff I had interactions with were friendly and really helpful, from check in at reception, to the porter who helped carry my heavy suitcase up to my top floor room, to the night manager who approved my rather unorthodox parking spot when all the carparks were taken, to the restaurant staff for lending me a plate and cutlery for my Thai takeaway food, to check out. The top floor room looking out to Lake Wakatipu was perfectly situated for the NYE fireworks display. The room itself was comfortable and clean, and of course free Wifi is great. Room service dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Would highly recommend!

We , are travelling from Dubai , ie from 48 degrees as we reached Queenstown the temperature was in single degree which was cold for us but Heartland Hotel was warm and comfortable. It felt home away from home. Plus the location is literally 5 mns from the town center. The Staff were always with a smile. Will stay again in Heartland and will tell others also.

Our group stayed for a few days in queenstown and i must say that this hotel was well worth the stay. I was put in room 425, which must be the best room in the place. The staff were always lovely and went out of their way to assist in every way.

Lose a star due to no heatpump/climate control, room backed into lifts so a little noisy and water pipes made loud noise from time to time. Housekeeping missed a dirty spoon sitting on a used sugar wrapper. In saying that the room was reasonably priced at $165 for the night, 500m from central Queenstown.

The hotel staff were helpful and kind, and the room had a beautiful view of the town! The heater wasnt working though and we had to open the windows so that the room wasnt so stuffy. The wifi was also weak. But a great hotel overall!

We were travelling with our son who has special needs. When allocated our room with 28 steps, the staff changed our accomodation to a disabled room, as it was available. We were most appreciative.

No issue we had a big crew of our staying at the Heartland, all our needs were meet, no issues

There was a very big shelf so our bags didn't have to be on the floor. Very good value. The location is excellent just a short walk to the centre of Queenstown and all shops, cafes, bars and supermarket. Wouldn't stay anywhere else on my next visit to Queenstown.

I visited in this hotel in the month of June 2018.It is located in central Queenstown, a short walk from town. It offers panoramic views over Lake Wakatipu to the mountains. Wonderful place to stay and so cozy.

We had a lovely room with two single beds placed together. The hotel is situated on a hill which may be difficult for some to climb to the reception, which is at the top of the hill.

Studio room - great views but lost 1 star as room facilities were very limited - no microwave or kitchen sink. The other star lost as room was a bit run down.

So after being awake for nearly 26 hours (due to jumping straight onto a plane after a 10 hour nursing shift from Brisbane to Queenstown) we rocked up the Heartland hotel thinking that we could get all settled in and for me to have a quick nap. To our shock the accomodation hadn't been approved of and since we weren't aware and my dad had organised it all and had got an email saying that we didn't actually have the accomodation was missed we were in complete distress. Then the amazing Lisa came to our rescue. She ended up room hopping us and even though it had costed us only a little bit more than what we had anticipated we owe her our trip! It was so beautiful our stay the Heartland hotel, we were in scenic suits for the first two nights then and then the heartland vilas for the rest - they were both bloody amazing might I add. Lisa had seriously saved our holiday so thank you so much. The only down fall was the hill at the end - but hey definitely worked off all the ice creams and burgers we ate for the day! Miss Queenstown already. Thank you so much again Lisa!

Great place to stay, everything was wonderful except for being burnt in the shower. Water fluctuates suddenly from warm to boiling hot. I was told it was being looked at!!

The view from our hotel room was incredible- every time we looked it was different. The staff were very friendly. It was a perfect place to stay as we left the car in the carpark and walked everywhere. The only thing is the building is a bit dated, but we will definitely be back to stay next time we are down in Queenstown 😁
