A.Wow! What a beautiful location. We had our wedding there and hired the icon roof top for our ceremony, such an incredible view and the staff were amazing. Difficult times with the pandemic and border being closed didn’t stop them from providing an exceptional experience. Melissa Couch from sales and events was friendly and professional, nothing was a hassle and her food and beverage team (Kate & Jess)were absolutely lovely. Would recommend to anyone who wants to have their special day in Queenstown. John from front desk was also amazing! Thank you again for everything!
M.Our stay at the Heritage Hotel was a great experience. Breakfast is excellent value. Room service to the pool area was superb. We attended Tim and Chloes wedding. What an amazing venue. Everyone had a great time. Our favorite hospitality staff member was Dav the barman who provided as with an awesome service each and every day. We will return in the future.

We were booked in for a ground floor balcony lake room, however we enquired about getting a room on a higher floor and the team were about to accommodate us. Thank you! V.Loved our 3 day stay at Heritage Queenstown. From the time I made the reservation till the time I departed the experience was just fabulous. Sebastian from Reservation team was absolutely delightful to deal with. Checkin was a breeze. I booked the Lakeview Suite and was very happy with my suite. Breakfast was delightful every morning. Jess was very lovely in the restaurant. She made our stay a great one. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and was very impressed with the food. Normally hotel restaurants only have basic food. We had a late checkout to make the most of Queenstown. I would definitely be back. Thank you to the whole team that made us feel like we were at home.
P.Halfway through our stay and I have to say absolutely Amazing - such friendly staff ! Everyone says hi - Made us feel so welcome , nothing was a bother - honestly best hotel experience I have had for some time ! Amazing room for our family ( stayed in lake view family suite ) perfect for a family of five with washer dryer full kitchen;) We Absolutely will be back for winter !
M.Very nice place to stay, good views even on the forest side of the hotel. A bit $$$, but worth it to spoil yourself a little in Queenstown. It was quiet, with secure parking, the staff were great, the king sized studio was modern and well appointed. Recommend.

S.No matter where you stay in Queenstown you will always find a fault with the accommodation if you look for it. For someone who spent 5 years in the hotel business in maintenance as well as other departments I can confidently state that the staff here are absolutely fantastic.
From the very top of the employment chain to the bottom every single one of the staff made our stay worthwhile and more.
If I was to rate the hospitality from the staff out of ten, I would give them a twelve!
Seriously consider staying here because it feels like home from home. Bar, restaurant, pool, sauna, spa pool and of course the views of afar that makes Queenstown what it is.
Bonus that it is on its own land and away from the centre of the town if that's what you want.
From the hotel to the wharf front was an easy 20 minute walk. Makes sense to leave the car behind!

J.The service level of NZ’s hotels are generally not up to their star rating… seriously all NZ hotel managers should go to Taiwan and Japan to see how 3-5 stars hotels services the customers. For Heritage Queenstown, they’ve done well compared to other NZ hotels. The five stars review is mainly giving to the breakfast crew. The food was great (love the Egg Benny) but more importantly the smiles from the crew members were very warm and friendly. Thank you!
E.Beautiful hotel. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Breakfast is a must! Staying here with hubby and two kids (6yo & 3m). Room is super spacious with a lovely view of the lake & mountains! Spa & pool very good. Food is great! Nice and close to town but quiet up here. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

S.Rooms are a good size. There is not much of a view unless you are staying in the lake view rooms. Restaurant is nothing above standard, however there is a reasonably good pool, spa and sauna.
C.We stayed in the Waterfall wing, rooms were clean and had a newly renovated feel. Great drive in carpark underneath. Overall we did enjoy our stay and would stay again...but... Scrambled eggs at the buffet seemed like powdered, they were terrible. But they do cook you eggs fresh if you want. Showers are the type on a slide rail, and the head would fall off and try to hit you every time it was shut off. Our King Size bed was two singles pushed together which is a bit disappointing.

J.We booked heritage hotel for a week to stay. It was a big room and all hotel room amenities were new, but we got the issue that they forgot to service our room, and we didn’t put any sign at the door at all. We always had to ask for making sure that they would come to service to the room for us.
Also, we got breakfast came with our price but when we went to the restaurant and I felt the waitresses were not friendly and were not welcome us much. I understood that some of them could feel tired from morning shift but it shouldn’t effect and show to the customers ~
T.Amazing hotel, great location with all the amenities that you need. The pool was cold when we arrived but this could have something to do with the -4° weather that we had when the weather had gone to 8° the bigger pool was so warm and amazing as many people go down to use the spa and sauna during the winter time. I will definitely go back. They don't have room service but you can order food from the bar and take it back to your room they put thr food on a Tray and the food is covered with lids to keep it warm while taking it back to your room. The Nachos and Wedges are awesome. Thank you for such amazing service and views. We will be back again!!
N.Absolutely wonderful stay. Booked an emergency night due to unsafe camping weather on new years day and we were kindly discounted for a short notice booking. We were also told we could check in anytime we liked without waiting until 3pm because our room was ready (this was at 10am). Insanely amazing king sized comfy bed and Sky telly. Nice shower, bath and complementary bathroom products. Clean, tidy, modern. Cheap and super accessible laundry service and parking. Prompt support from room service and reception for our needs. Ended up staying an extra night it was so worth it. We won't stay anywhere else in QT now!
m.Was lovely to stay here on our local honeymoon. The room and facilities were tidy and very clean if not a bit dated.
We have to commend and thank the fantastic concierge Scott who checked us in and gave us so much advice about Queenstown. He provided exceptional service and was extremely friendly. He made our stay very pleasant.
M.Spacious lake view suite and the view was stunning. The suite has everything you need including kitchen, dishwasher, dining table, washing machine and ironing board. Free parking which is a plus too.
Our stay was almost perfect. The only problem we had was the noise from the guest next door. As our suite had a connecting door to next door and that door was not sound proof, we could hear every conversation and noise from next door.
There is also not much privacy at the balcony, you could look over the balcony next door easy.
Breakfast was ok, would love to see tomato to be included in the buffet breakfast.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a great stay.
R.Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for the upgrade. We ended up in one of their main rooms which was beautiful. The scenery was stunning, a lot of amenities to keep our son happy. The bar was good, the buffet breakfast always hot and delicious. We did have to wait over an hour for our dinner which is why I couldnt give 5 stars. We will definitely book again with the heritage. M.Loved that the hotel was slightly away from the main city but still close enough by driving. We booked a room with the lake view and it looks absolutely stunning. The room was clean and smells good, blanket and bed covers looks new and no dusts or stains. They also gave us chocolates and drink vouchers as we came to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel just needs a bit of interior upgrade for the hall ways, carpets outside and elevator are quite old and needs replacing, but all in all the place is still good for the price paid. The view is what will make you come back ❤️
N.Everything was excellent, the friendly helpful and very committed members of staff went above and beyond. Our suite was spotless, very comfortable with nice decor, the bed was to die for, we really had the best stay. Our package included a buffet style breakfast downstairs, which the quality was something we would have paid for at a nice restuarant, no limit of food over the set time frame available, and had a range of great options for gluten free.
Unfortunately we arrived in Queenstown late in the evening and we only were there for one night so didn't have time to use the pool but it looked amazing too.
R.After reading many positive reviews online I decided to choose the heritage over other places, although a little more expensive then most I'd rather pay a little extra for comfort. First impressions once arriving were fairly good. Friendly and helpful staff, nice decor and spacious rooms. Unfortunately things went down hill fairly quickly from here. The bathroom consisted of a shower wand in the corner of the room with a wrap around curtain (almost like a hospital ward). This meant after every shower majority of the bathroom floor became rather wet. I understand the design is to allow for wheelchair accessability, although this still seems a little cheap for a 4 star hotel. Next the pillows on the bed seemed like they'd be run over by a steam roller (very flat and firm). After scrolling through the greeting book I did however come to find they offer alternative pillows if nessecary, I called reception and requested a feather pillow from the book of which was delivered rather promptly. Unfortunately there wasn't much in the way of improvement. As the night got on and I eventually retired for evening, I climb into bed only to find an uncomfortable ridge running down the centre. I'm not entirely sure how comfortable zip beds are supposed to be but I'm sure it's not supposed to feel like the ramarkables are running down the middle of your "king size" bed. Overall in conclusion this property has great potential for an elegant and comfortable stay, unfortunately there seems to be many shortcuts currently being taken. Sadly I would not recommend staying here for these reasons nor do I plan on returning to another heritage hotel in the near future.

Disliked: breakfast is the downside of this hotel. Ron and Alex in the restaurant were very professional and helpful but some other staff were stressed and I think they weren't trained enough. as a professional food reviewer, I can rate the pastries of this hotel awful! warm food just edible but not pleasant. Dishes were dirty and coffee was not up to any standard. No warm milk and not many vegan or religious options. there was just one type of cheese offered. No salads or vegies offered just some fruit options. The good side of breakfast was the a la carte eggs options.

M.Great location, your just out of the main city so you avoid all the hustle and bustle, but still get an amazing view of the lake. The service was great and the buffet breakfast had a good selection if food. Rooms need updating but you coyld say that with most older hotels.
T.I rung them directly spoke with Chris very helpful young man put together a package he also up graded our room to a lake view with breakfast, what made it even more convenient we paid for all our activities at the front desk at no hassle. We were allowed to check in early lovely staff rooms are very comfortable look what was waiting for us how lucky are we thanks guys.

K.Our hotel is a bit older, but it lends to charm and character. It also sits a top of hill; and our suite has lakeside (lakefront) view. So we couldn't be happier! Our suite is also spacious, and I'm so thankful for the kitchenette. The reception personnel and the concierge are most helpful and respectful. Small gym, but it's useful. And who cares? You could run around the gorgeous lake! The hot tub and pool are a plus. I haven't tried the restaurant yet, but I'm sure it's great.

N.Booked 2 bedroom suite with lake view, Pricey but Rooms were clean spacious and view was beautiful! It's also nice that they had 2in1 washing machine and dryer in both the rooms with a convenient kitchenette. Food was great, compliments to the Chef, Breakfast was FANTASTIC loved their breakfast banana/blueberry mini muffins so moist.
j.I stayed in the lake view suite and I was meant to tour around Queenstown but did not leave the building once as it has absolutely outstanding views, excellent facilities and has more than everything you need for a luxurious holiday with the best views of Queenstown lake and mountains. The service is impeccable, all requirements met with class and I want to live here for the rest of my life. Thank you Heritage for your absolutely beautiful service and you will see me soon !!!

A.Hotel is a bit outdated in parts, but sits on top of a hill with beautiful lake views! Rooms were nice, with nice views. The place is a bit of a maze to get around with not the best signage. Guest laundry on site was a huge plus. It was a nice stay and not too far from everything Queenstown had to offer!
O.I didnt get a chance to eat at the restaurant but everything else about this place was outstanding. The views from the forest wing were to die for! On top of that the room was super comfortable. The carpet was soft and clean. The bed was beyond comfortable and the sheets were luxurious. With the view and the bed it was hard to get out and do stuff! What a great place. I plan on staying here again when I return!

This place was worth the money. It is a bit of a walk outside the main strip but that made it a very quiet stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.

E.Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, guest areas are very clean and housekeeping is immaculate. Food is a little pricey but very delicious. They have a number of facilities that I didn't get to use due to time restrictions but they looked great! Walking into town is a breeze, walking back is a bit tough due to the hill!
M.My partner is celiac, the GF knowledge and options was excellent. The room was immaculate and the late night service by the team was amazing and hugely appreciated!

M.Oh man this place is great! You are far enough away from town that you don't have to deal with crowds. There is a very pretty short trail that takes you towards town, but you can walk on the sidewalk along the street also for a beautiful view of the lake. I would recommend trying both. The hotel has a nice spa and sauna to use along with a shuttle of needed. We didn't spend much time at the hotel but found it to be the perfect location for everything we needed. We also had a rental car which I highly recommend as well.
M.A typical older hotel room but it is clean and decent. It is on the hill so our family room has a nice and decent view of the hill. It takes only 10 minutes to walk to the town and it is a pleasant and easy walk. There is also a bus that stops in front of the hotel if you do not walk uphill back to the hotel. For a short term stay, this hotel is recommended.
T.Just a room. Comfortable beds and nice decor, but not outstanding. Bathroom leaves much to be desired, the shower spreads the water widely even with the extra long shower curtain and the floor remains wet from the shower for some time. I ended up with wet socks on my journey to the toilet the next morning, many hours after I'd showered. Not ideal. Layout of the hotel is somewhat confusing, found myself getting lost as I moved around. Food was delicious but with long waits between being seated, having the orders taken and the food then arriving. Same with coffees for breakfast. To be fair, I was seated with a table of 10 guests, but other restaurants had managed this size group much better time-wise.
D.Staff were always friendly and the sauna has been newly refurbed so that was a bonus! Will stay again.

Stunning pool, and great views from the balconies. The rooms are clean, well-furnished, and well-maintained.
A reasonably easy walk down the hill and along the esplanade into town, not such an easy walk back!
S.Staff are very helpful, views are amazing from this property and the amenities offered such as gym spa and sauna are absolutely perfect after a day exploring the region. Beds and rooms are very comfortable, comes with sky TV and a heat pump/ac to keep warm on those cold southern nights.
H.Excellent location and nice staff! Rooms are not bad, although a bit old. It is right next to a park where you are able to see the lake. Bus goes to the front door, very convenient. But there is definitely room for improvement regarding the café.
P.Lovely hotel. Good rooms with all you need. Only don't go for the Lakeside building rooms that face road as you are near the bins area and they get emptied at 5am on Saturday and 7ish on Friday...very loud so no sleep in. Great location and views.
R.We came to Queenstown for our wedding, and decided to stay here. Heritage was very accommodating, helpful and attentive. The hotel is classic and beautifully appointed.
We booked a lake view suite. The bedroom had a balcony featuring uninterrupted views of the lake and mountains. The lounge also had amazing views. The suit is large, open and spacious and features a washer/dryer, full kitchen facilities, a bathroom with bath tub, and dining and lounge area. Slightly further out of town than other places, however I cannot fault the overall quality and feel of the place, as well as the full scale views other places won't be able to beat. Highly recommend the lake view to couples.

E.The room we stayed is quite spacious, clean and good facilities. We even got two Espresso coffee machines. Helpful staff.
Not every lake view wing side rooms has lake view.
We came in a summer and stayed at the top floor on the lake view wing. I am a bit surprised to see there is no air con installed in our room. So during day time, it is very very hot and does not feel too comfortable to stay inside. We called the reception and staff brought us a fan and it did not help very much. Just something to keep in mind when you book.
t.We lived in studio room with twin beds for one night. The room is very large and clean. The beds are very big and comfortable. The hotel is very close to the city centre with walkable distance to Sky Tower. Since we had to take early flight the next day, the hotel provided us breakfast box with apple, large muffin, sandwich, cereal bar and juice, and they were very delicious.
F.We had a spectacular view from our room in the lake front building. The room was spacious and the beds really comfy.
The only thing that bothered us was the noise from the road. We were at the edge of the complex and heard car noise in particular in the morning - maybe plant more trees to shield from the noise?
R.I've been travelling around the world for 30 years now and this is truly one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff are simply amazing the rooms are just so comfortable and the location and convenience to transport a perfect. If you are travelling to Queenstown this is simply the best place you could ever stay at.

a.Great customer service and friendly staff. Room was well presented with modern facilities. Super comfortable beds! Free parking below the building. Shared washing machines and driers available for $2. Free wifi also with good strength to bedroom. Views from hotel are amazing over looking the lake. This is our second time here and will stay here again. Reccomend to anyone

K.Very nice hotel. Clean comfortable rooms. If you get the rooms with a view, you'll have a nice view of the lake. They also have the "family room" which has one queen size bed and two twin beds in the same room, perfect for the average family! I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel as long as you don't mind driving into town, as this hotel is not within walking distance.
T.The Heritage definitely has some lovely charm. I did think the room would be bigger. A shuttle service to town would be a worthwhile option to introduce. There is a nice balcony off the dining room with full views of the town and the mountains beyone. Breakfast was very good.

T.We were booked into this lovely hotel on a ""groupon"" trip. The hotel is about 20min stroll to town and set against some amazing NZ scenery. The best part of my stay was the staff. Everyone from the reception to the room service staff were professional. Staff were attentive and smiled.

Great buffet breakfast and beverage station. Beautiful dining area and gardens to have meals if wanted. No chance of going hungry here. The food is delicious and a large variety.
Great location, safe and secure, easy 5 min walk to town along the lake. Public Bus stop beside concierge.
Great information desk with pamphlets on all things adventurous, or not. Booking services at a discount on all activities, dining and drink... staff are great. House keeping are phenomenal.

A.Hotel is located by the lakeside on top of a hill. It's not too far from the city. We stayed here for the second time and were upgraded to lake side room due to being repeat customer. Only thing I could point out is that hotel parking is very tight and limited numbers. If you have a big vehicle then it's really hard to park. Secondly, if you come after a late dinner or something then there's a good chance that you may not be able to find a place to park. Your only option is to then park by the road side.

T.Beautiful hotel about a 20 minute walk out of Queenstown centre. We were early, but the room was ready for us. To top it all, every waiter was all so friendly and attentive. Reasonable value for money. Walk back up the hill a little more energetic but not difficult.
T.Comfortable and quiet hotel located about half a mile from city centre. Great open fire in the main lounge with marshmallows to toast and the rooms were huge. Only a 10 minute walk into town. The full buffet breakfast which was included in our room rate was fresh and plentiful.
V.Nice location, close to town. Had all the basics but nothing above. The walls are far to thin, could hear showers & bathrooms throughout the stay.
Great place to stay if you're looking for somewhere to sleep while you adventure & don't plan on spending too much time in the hotel.
J.Not a bad place to stay in Queenstown. It is not the easiest trek from downtown but the views are amazing over the lake and a great vantage point to look at the Remarkables mountain range. Rooms were clean but slightly outdated. Great gym, spa and place to do laundry. The cafe has great food and a delicious cup of coffee or espresso drink as well. They do charge for almost everything here though. (Internet, coffee, storage) Overall a good experience here.
t.Location is about 15mins from the airport, a bit far, but manageable, and 5min drive from town centre. Has very friendly staff, especially the staff at the bar and restaurant. Rooms are nice, we got a a single room for 3 people and they added a single bed for the 3rd person, very intuitive. Plentiful underground parking, a pool, sauna, spa. The gym is a bit small for my taste and there was only cable, dumbbells, and cardio equipment.. Overall very nice, I would definitely recommend this place.
M.Cosy hotel with beautiful views over the Remarkables, great little mini bar in the rooms, awesome couch in the Executive room which was really nice. The staff really made this place feel special.
I would say that if you like a firm bed, it’s definitely very soft here. Maybe a little too soft. And we would suggest skipping the breakfast which is quite pricey for what it is and heading straight into town.
S.Great stay, though the lift for our wing was out and we had to climb three flights of stairs with our luggage after completing the Routeburn track, which was less than ideal. However, I assume this was just a fluke occurrence and not likely to be a routine problem.
T.Be warned outside of town a little bit so be prepared to walk uphill or hire a taxi, Great continental breakfast, tea in room lacking as well as overall room condition. Did upgrade to the lakeside room/suite, and the view is amazing. They were accomdating by helping us move rooms when we weren't present. The courtyard facing room seemed a little noisy (since you can hear people in pool).
D.A little out of town 15-20 mins. The walk up the hill counts as exercise. You can catch a bus to the door. Reception and restaurant building blocks view from rooms, disappointing and poor design. Lacks area to sit and relax and enjoy view outside one's own room. A large deck with superb views was unused and locked!

T.Easy pick up and drop off for taxi and tour buses and hotel has deal with taxi companies for a flat rate pickup or drop off from hotel. In contrast the young *** who booked me in and showed me to my room was great. The buffet breakfast on site is exceptional.
C.It's up a hill from Queenstown itself, so less hustle and bustle but it's a short drive or nice stroll to get there as well. The king size bed is super comfortable, tub and separate standing shower was nice. Last but not least, the staff was super helpful and very welcoming. I would definitely stay here again!

The staff were friendly and helpful and because we arrived early were happy to store our luggage and have it delivered to our rooms while we were out sight seeing. A great location if you want to be away from the buzz of the main strip but a short stroll into town.
P.We stayed at the Heritage in the "Forrest" wing during April for my wife's 50th birthday. We had a great time.
The room was nice and quiet and nicely appointed. We had a peaceful view out into a forest and a small view of the beautiful lake.
Initially on our arrival the elevator was not working and the spa pool was not as hot as it should be. I mentioned this to the staff and it was fixed promptly.
You get complimentary room WiFi with a 5GB data cap per day, which I think is pretty decent. However I found the actual speed to be quite poor at times. I was trying to get some work done each morning on my notebook and it was a bit of an exercise in frustration. Really slow. If you are just doing web browsing I'm sure you will be fine. If you need to do actual work I would probably bring your own 4G.
The hotel is about 15 minutes walk into the town ship, but you do have a bit of an uphill walk coming back. We quickly changed over to the busses. You can buy a bus card for $5, and then trips are a flat rate of $2. You can use one bus card for multiple people. The busses come past the Hotel every 15 minutes. After walking up the hill once the $2 option seemed a no brainer.
We also used the busses to visit the Remarkable's Park town Centre and Arrow Town - also only $2. The bus also goes to and from the airport.
Overall I would recommend the Heritage for those wanting a quiet get away. It was very pleasant.

T.My wife, Alison and I have the most wonderful vacation at the Heritage Hotel in Queenstown. The hotel is located on a hill and is about a 15 min walk to Queenstown. Our room (in the waterfall section) was a good size. En suite was spotless but the carpet needed a good steam clean.
U.6Nov16 3.5 Large room with great queen bed and lounge suite. No air conditioning. If you get hot you can open a balcony door or window. Very prompt and helpful check-in service. Very courteous restaurant staff and breakfasts are good value $10 for continental or $20 cooked. Probably 10 minutes walk to Queenstown village shops. Downhill to flat road to shops and return journey ends with a little up hill travel .. not far, 400 meters probably.
M.The heritage lived up to our expectations, after the first day anyway. On the day of our arrival the WiFi didn’t work and the tv, the lady working at reception ‘booked a bus’ for my family to get to the snow. We woke up at 6 and got ready, only to go to the bus stop at 7 and wait for an hour. We went to reception and the lady said she hadn’t ‘confirmed’ the booking. After all of that, the manager came out said he was very sorry, gave us pastries and booked a private shuttle for us. The rest of the week was amazing in the adventure capital of the world, great location and rooms. I would suggest staying there if you have a large group or family, and book your adventure yourself!

L.We had an excellent stay here in one of the deluxe studios. Both my partner and I eat a vegan diet and he is also gluten free. The breakfast buffet was amazing for us with a big selection of yogourt, toppings, cereals and fruits! The server named Kangwon was amazing and deserves recognition. He respected our diets and went out of his way to walk us through the buffet and figure out everything we could eat. Over our 4 day stay he came every morning and offered GF bread and cereal to my partner from the kitchen and always did it with a smile on his face. Employees like that make the stay so much better, thank you Kangwon!
