r.Walking distance to town, very nice view by the lake. Booked in summer, there's no Aircon/fan but it's all good. Spacious room, basic necessities included, just not enough privacy. Carpark needs renovation though. The bathroom has no exhaust fan thus need to open the window where other occupiers may pass by, thus may not be that convenient.
S.Comfortable bed, but not enough bedding and no spare blankets. Just a very thin fleece blanket. The electric blanket helped bit not really enough for warmth.
The shower was good.
The toilet wouldn't flush properly and took 5 or more tries each time we used it.
Cold room, but a great view out to the lake. Handy location to town and off street parking which was super handy.
Staff allowed us to leave our vehicle there while we went into town after we checked out.
A.Great location. Fantastic views of Lake and mountains. The room itself is dated and in need of some maintenance. Some additional rails or a couple of hooks in the bathroom would be useful for hanging wet towels on. Curtains on the kitchen window and door would shut out more light and make sleeping easier. On the plus side we got the room for a very good rate.
N.Room was really big. It's suit for even 4 adult. The bed is comfy enough. Amenities is perfect. The view from the room was beautiful. You can see them right in front of your room. But some of the stuff in the kitchen is really old, need to change or more maintained. Location is close with central, so is easy to find any cafe or shopping centre.
Wi-Fi need to improve. Only work for sometimes and then down again..
L.Great location. Kitchen tired and no decent mugs for coffee/tea. The laundry was disgusting, dirty dishes and pans in the tub washing machines covered in grime. Charges too high in current market
C.I am very disappointed that we were advised there should have been electric blankets on the beds. There was one on the queen bed which until we went to use it found the pins on the both plugs were either bent or broken off. Extremely dangerous. Shortage of blankets for time of year. Were promised more would be delivered but not done.unable to contact

J.Perfect location and excellent views of the lake. Spacious, clean rooms. Slightly dated kitchen, but well equipped with full cooker, microwave and fridge. The bathroom has been refurbished and is bright and clean. Reception staff are very helpful suggesting best place for grocery shopping etc. The only negative aspect was the rather tired mattress on the bed. Reasonable price for Queenstown - the area is expensive for just about everything, but this motel is good for the money.

M.Million dollar views for a retro motel price. By coincidence I booked to stay here twice, once in 2011 and again in 2019. The bathrooms have now been fully renovated but the rest of the room remains charmingly old fashioned. None of that matters, the rooms are warm, clean, cosy and comfortable with some of the finest views you'll ever see and a scenic and easy walk into town. A great place to stay for price, location and incredible views.
T.Perfect location. Close to most "must do's" in Queenstown. Two minute walk to Southern Discoveries - Queenstown Visitor Centre (if you take Milford Sound cruise). Tiki trail is a walking distance from Lakeside Motel. Beautiful views of Lake Esplanade.
G.Fantastic location on the lakefront and only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Queenstown. The motel had a large room with Queen and single beds so large enough for 3 sharing. The kitchenette was fully stocked with a full size cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle etc plus there is a laundry service. The staff in reception were very helpful and friendly every time we spoke to them. A really great motel which we would use again if we returned to Queenstown.
D.I stayed at the backpackers and I was a bit nervous after reading some of the older reviews, but they have apparently changed hands recently. The accommodation wasn't flash, but you don't expect that at a backpackers. The room was clean, quiet and felt safe and the place had all the facilities needed.
If you're looking for somewhere with a large flat-screen tv and the duvet matches the curtains then Rydges is just down the road. However, if you're looking for decent, affordable accommodation then this place ticks the boxes.
t.Locality, easy walk to town and great views of the lake. This is the fourth time we have stayed here and the standard of cleanness is high. The bathrooms have been renovated since we were last there and are a big improvement.
D.Spacious room with a kitchenette, great view out of the window of the lake. Our room had a slight smell, but it was not unbearable and you wouldn't notice after a couple of minutes. Fairly close to Queenstown city too, about a 5 min walk
V.Great location, great view. The room has been renovated, with some existing old furnitures. Free WiFi is now available with around 1 GB limit.
If the parking is full, you will have to drive around 500 m to park at roadside. One of the 2 bedroom apartment have to be 2 single beds. The bed cannot be moved.
B.It was ok. If you can get a deal you will probably be happy. Very close to town and the lake. Parking on site. The bathroom was good. The rest of the room was pretty old. No real heating. While we were not really cold at no time would I say we were warm. The column heater in the room doesn't cut it. The wifi is poor with a very silly connection mechanism. We could not get a Samsung tablet to connect. My windows tablet would connect sometime and sometimes not. There was a 1G data limit unless you gave then your phone number.. what the?? The room was clean enough but there were leaves on the floor in the bathroom for some reason. The kitchen is old and tired and there are not enough pots and pans to even cook some pasta. The cords in the kitchen to the microwave seen dangerous. Only 2 analogue TV stations. No digital or cable. As I said if you get a deal you will probably be ok otherwise...
M.Not a very modern motel but with a good price and stunning lake views. Rooms are clean and has a full-size kitchen. The motel is close to the town centre and a playground on thw lake side is near by.
They have off street car parks but it is a bit tight and on a slope. Take extra care when driving out from their car park to the street as the cars (usually SUVs or vans) parkes on the road might block your view.
R.Limited WiFi service. Rooms are good with heaters. Bathroom's mirror is not placed above the wash basin. First floor rooms get excellent view of Wakatipu Lake. Parking space is limited to 10 cars. Guests have to carry their own luggage.
J.Sweeto little motel right on the lake, cheap and cheerful but most importantly very clean which is appreciated, staff all round were friendly and helpful. Arrived after hours which we thought would be an issue, rang the after hour line and friendly instructions were given for check in. Fantastic!
J.The Motel has an amazing view of the lake, especially from the second and third floors. Another advantage to this Motel's location is close proximity to downtown Qtown. The walk is less than 10 minutes. The room had an oven, stovetop, refrigerator and water boiler. Overall the room was clean. Customer service was pleasant and accommodating, given the fact that I showed up well after the office closed and left and hour before the office opened.
The mattress was lumpy and deformed from the use of many patrons. If the cost of the room was over 90 NZD then I would rate with only 3 stars. Additionally there are no laundry machines.
If staying at this motel I highly suggest trying Fergburger's for a good burger and MacKenzie's for a cold brew with milk and sugar.
T.Had the bare essentials for a comfortable stay, and was located literally a minute's drive from the town centre. Like all other motels and accommodation there, room had a spectacular view of the water and mountain scenery of Queenstown. Worth it.
A.Very good. The receptionist is a nice person. The bed mattress was so thin and I slept bad. There isn't a place where drop off the keys if you leave the motel before the 8 am
R.Stayed in the backpackers part. It does everything it should do. But if have liked to have had more showers and more power points. The common room and kitchen is a little pokey too

A.The motel is at the quiet part of Queenstown, and located just beaide the lake. The building is old, but the 2-bedroom unit that we stayed in is clean and tidy. Staffs are helpful and prompt to our requests for replenishing room toiletries and coffee/tea supplies. Free wifi is only 2gb per access given, additional data can be purchased at the reception. The motel is value for money considering the location near town.
