M.First time stay at a smart hotel and I'm very impressed. Modern, clean rooms with everything you need and nothing more. Free hot drinks from vending machines on each floor and the views from the rooftop terrace are phenomenal. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!
N.Stayed at mi pad for 9 nights. Really enjoyed my stay, the rooms were super clean, the views were amazing and the app was so handy. My app randomly stopped working but Carl was on the job and fixed it! Also please pass on to Tessa, she was so lovely and went out of her way to help, her service was A+.
J.Really enjoyed staying here. You can control the rooms lighting and temperature from your phone as well as various panels placed around the room which was really intuitive and convenient. The TV in your room has chrome cast and there’s plenty of ports to charge your devices. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here.
E.A group of us stayed at Mi-Pad before and after doing the Milford Track. It is very central and only a very short walk from the centre of Queenstown. The rooms are definitely compact, but comfortable, clean and modern. The hotel is also very affordable when compared to many of the other offerings in Queenstown. The staff are. They happily stored our bags and food for our tramp. The hotel offers a comfortable lobby and waiting area, and a nice outdoor deck with some views towards the lake. While tea and coffee are not provided for in your room, they have free coffee machine which makes one of the best hot chocolates. The hotel's selling point of difference is its automation. Personally I found this more annoying than helpful as it was easier to just use the switches and swipe cards rather than phone app to use much of the rooms functions. Further, the lighting of all these devices can be slightly annoying at night as the sensors tend to be easily set off. However, these were only minor issues and overall I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
L.Such a cool, modern hotel! Carl was great he managed to squeeze six of us in last minute since we had to stay in Queenstown another night! I loved the coffee machines on each floor and the app on your phone to control AC and the lights was super cool!
J.I think this is a good place, the focus on the app is probably a bit gimmicky for a one location hotel but for regular visitors it seems to be useful. The idea is to minimise staff by using the app. The intention to some extent is to be more convenient, but you have to log into your phone every time you want to change a setting. I don't really use it to change my room settings ahead of time because the hotel is already warm inside. The app was good when my room key stopped working halfway through the one day was staying.

J.Stayed at Mi-Pad a little while ago but have been meaning to write this review since we left as it was so lovely! From the check in process to our very last day we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The rooftop terrace has gorgeous views of the city & a beautiful fireplace. The complimentary coffee/tea machine on our floor was a great plus. My personal favorite part of the hotel was our room with its controllable, colored lights & towel heating rack! I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Queenstown. You won’t regret it!
A.Much cheaper than some of the other hotels around so we didn't expect much from the hotel.
When you arrive, they want you to download an app in order to access your room, which was a little inconvenient but I understood why. After downloading the app, they gave you a key anyway haha.
The room itself is quite small but has some really cool lighting control options, but it does seem like style over substance.
The toilet doesn't give you too much privacy in your room and the shower is great if you don't mind checking out your partner whilst she's showering as there is little privacy there also!
Overall, you get what you pay for and our stay was nice.
J.I booked the Mipad Hotel Queenstown using a map of the area and on price. We found the facility great for location and mod cons. Good staff and we enjoyed ourselves.The free coffee vending machines were the only let down as the one on our floor didn't work.
S.The Mi pad is in a fantastic location and has a great rooftop to have drinks or breakfast on! The check in process is so easy as you can just do it on your phone!! Our room had a chrome cast which was excellent!
However the rooms are very small with no kettle or face washers. I had used the app to request a room clean, however it was not done. Make sure you are comfortable with the person you are going away with because the bathrooms don’t offer a great deal of privacy
C.Me and my partner really enjoyed satying at mi-pad for 5nights, the room that we’ve got is just perfect for couple, super comfy and warm which is really nice coz it’s winter, facilities are clean and modern, everyday our room was getting a clean service, salute to all the staffs too, very friendly and helpful, plus each floor has the vending machine where you can get unlimited and free hot drinks, my fav in the hotel lol. And also super convinient, very short walk from queenstown central.
C.Very cool, convenient and all round perfect place to stay before and after the Routeburn track.
D.Hands down the best accommodation experience yet. Staff were so welcoming and the while place was so futuristic!
We stayed there on the 31st night, but then returned again from Invercargill a few days later, knowing what a treat it was.
Super close to the town - you don't want to miss the experience.

M.I am so glad I booked at this hotel! The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the app worked like a charm and was very intuitive, and the smart tech in and outside of the room was fabulous.
But number one, you really cannot beat the location. It's a quick stop to a bus that can take you to and from the airport, and you're right next to where the action is.
I loved the efficiency of the room, smart design and layout. I really enjoyed being able to see the city live on the TV in my room. I also appreciated that both a hair dryer and flattening iron was provided.
The "free coffee" machine on every floor was a treat as well. The community spaces were also well designed and comfortable and inviting spaces.

Hotel is modern, well designed, highly customisable, smart with competitive rates compared to the other hotels I have stayed with in Queenstown. You’re a 100m from the centre of Queenstown. b.This is a modern hotel with modern everything. You control most things on a phone app inc entry. The tv was via 2 remotes with screen mirroring that I couldnt work. You need to know the person you are staying with quite well as the bathroom privacy is minimal. It is a bigger version of a pod hotel. No fridge but free ice/coffee machine on each floor with communal lounge/computer stations.
N.Mi-Pad is amazing. Clean and new. Fantastic Shower. Would definitely stay here again. So close to town. Concierge was so helpful and nice. Fantastic.
P.I have stayed a number of time and would like to say its very comfortable, fresh, clean , thought-out place .
P.The hotel is in essence a good option for price and quality in Queenstown if you choose to be close to the centre. The pedestrian area with all bars and restaurants is only a 5 minutes walk. Even though the room is a bit small, it is very functional. The only small downside is about the glass doors of the shower and toilets, giving limited intimacy if you're sharing the room. Also, not to mention that the check in and monitoring of the lights in the room can be all managed via their user-friendly app ! Overall good short stay !
J.Excellent rooms. Great location and the roof deck is awesome with mint views. The rooms are noise magnets though from the corridor, really bad. The tech through the app is cool, but a few of the controls error so using the wall controls is almost as cool
M.The staff was truly fantastic on more than one occasion. They were always cheerful and willing to help, including finding us a room between 2 stays we had already booked, when they were already full.
The rooms are nice and spacious (for queenstown), the rooftop terrace is great and there are free coffee/chocolate/tea machines on each floor.

The room was high tech, although at times a bit overly so, including bathroom light timers that turn off the light a bit earlier than you'd wish.
N.First time here so didn't really know what to expect. This is a very simple hotel where the room is compact and set up for basic needs rather than extreme comfort. The shower was excellent and the bed perfectly adequate. Hotel amenities are limited but its all warm and clean and the one team member I saw was very good. Felt like it should have been cheaper but thats probably just Q-town. Stay here if you're spending most of your time out and about.

The room size was okay, but the overall experience is excellent. The smart hotel that is needed for future, chromecast in every room, fast wifi, free coffee in every level. The price for me is matching with what you get. The best part of the hotel is the cafetaria lounge, it is very warm for winter.
S.Loved it!!! The staff, especially Elizabeth, are amazing. I was stuck with my flights to Milfird Sound being cancelked but Elizabeth really took care of me and helped me to find alternate activities until I could take my flight. As a solo traveller this is greatly appreciated. The hotel is really clean, very comfortable, lovely decor, great roof terrace, lovely amenities, interesting concept with everything you need.
D.I stayed in a queen room and found this to be a fantastic hotel in Queenstown. Modern, clean and high tech with everything you need and centrally located to Queenstown. The beds are comfortable and the showers are hot and high-pressured. While the rooms are slightly smaller than your typical hotel room, it’s all the space you need and there is enough for all your gear and luggage, and that of your friend or partner. There is great Wi-Fi, an on-site coin laundry and an upper deck with a stunning view of the town.
Overall this hotel represents excellent value for money - very highly recommended.
J.Great location with awesome roof terrace with brilliant views of mountains and the lake. Rooms are a tad small but packed full of great stuff - being able to connect your phone to the tv for music and videos etc was great. Staff were really nice too.

R.Great place, excellent location, extremely friendly staff, apartments are cosy and very modern. There are some great communal areas to hang out, a roof top balcony with views of the lake which is great to take a few drinks up to before heading out.
L.Where do I start? The hotel industry is so stale and mundane that this seems like a disruption level change very much needed in this industry.
Before I get into what I like, I'll get into what I dislike. The bathroom design and layout in my room, was awkward and does not provide a place for you to hang your change of clothes or a space for you to change. I sure hope you're travelling with your other half who you're romantically involved in, because the shower are glass and can be see through from the top or bottom sections. SO ARE THE TOILETS. No locks, just sliding glass doors with zero soundproofing of any kind. Cue toilet sounds. They're also literally right next to the bed. You also have to step out of the shower in full view of the room to change into clothes. Also, sensor lights in toilet/bathroom are hilariously short and you'll find yourself waving arms to keep them on, nostalgic of public toilets with timed lights. I'm also not a big fan of the sink being right in the entrance of the room. It's awkwardly place in my opinion - it's like brushing teeth in the hallway. The bathroom design is awkward rather than futuristic, and some additional thoughts need to go into this for future hotels. This makes it IMMEDIATELY UNSUITABLE for anyone other than solo travellers or couples.
What I loved. In the room: Room cast. You can use Chromecast in the room. BRILLIANT!!! You can cast your own YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, etc. We watched game of thrones casted onto hotel tv. I like the small finishing touches, like sensor lights under the bed. Hair straightener comes standard in room. So are 'expensive' hair dryers and expensive toiletries according to my other half as she Googles them. Bed and pillows are comfy. No bedroom slippers. No tea making facilities or fridge (see next paragraph). Room just a tad on the smallish side but it didn't bother me.
Hotel wise, I loved the extra features. Lounge. Board games. Books. Lounges. Lots of lots of lounges. Rooftop lounge is a highlight. Basement lounge makes me regret not bringing my laptop. Feels like a startup office. Absolutely love them. Free vending machine with free drinks on every floor, guess to make up for no tea making facilities.
Location wise, it's fantastic. Literally 1 min walk from the main street. 2 hour free parking 8am - 6pm Mon- Fri. Not unlimited. There's lots of spots in front of the hotel but it's not unlimited and Queenstown parking inspectors are ruthless so please follow the rules to the letter. We parked at a nearby 10 hour parking at recreation park carpark for $1 a hour (must vacate this carpark by 6pm latest) and then moved our car back to the hotel for overnight parking. DO NOT PARK ON BROKEN YELLOW LINES anywhere in the city.
Love the futuristic idea of checking in on a phone app. Still needs refinement and lots of work. App is still pretty slow but does work. Control lights, room DND status, and a/c from the phone is gimmicky, and sorta works BUT overwrites existing room status. E.g. if I change just one setting of lights on my phone, all my settings in the room would be completely reset, including my air conditioning to heater instead of cooling. This still needs work. But opening the door with the app works fine (and this is the most important thing). Seems like black magic to me as it doesn't appear to use nfc. Being able to check in, get my room number, and open the room door with my phone means no wasting 15 mins at reception just trying to check in if you don't want to.
All in all, I love this hotel and would love to see more of this. I reckon this could be the new Uber in the hotel world. Well done, mi-pad, start your own chain, with competitive prices and I might not stay anywhere else ever again.
A.Great spot if you just want somewhere to out your head for the night. The rooms aren't large but if your heading to Queenstown, my bet is that you dont want to be locked up in your room anyway. Great deck on top with furniture to have a beer or wine in the sun! We will be back.
