Tonight will be my third night staying here. I have a private room with ensuite. It’s a great room with TV, heat pump, and coffee making. Right in the centre of town near the waterfront and boating activities. But best of all are the wonderful staff. They have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome. Great service and excellent travel advice. I can’t say enough about them. My first time travelling since my husband passed away and I was a bit worried, but this holiday has been great because of their kindness. Thanks Nomads. 🥰👍

Loved the hostel, location was brilliant, great vibe around the place lead by the members of staff! Mike was my favourite, he's so dreamy!
A.
Usually stay here when I visit Queenstown. Its good for what it is. I'm yet to stay at any back packers that is 5 star with good costs. The movie room is all good as well. Its very central as well. They used to have free dinners when I last stayed but I'm unsure if this still exists.
S.
Wonderful staff and facilities, 24 hour reception is reliable, private rooms particularly nice with excellent showers
P.
Awesome hostel great customer service was able to give us a late check out as well as info on the best places to have a great time will be back for another visit soon
C.
Great location, excellent value for money and fantastic staff. We really enjoyed our stay here as Nomads ticked all the boxes. Super friendly staff, Seb and Turner in particular, were awesome!
We had a lovely private room with views of the Remarkable mountains and the lake from the balcony. All for a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.
D.
The kitchen is quite dirty found that in both my recent stay. Location is good right in the heart of town.
The beds are not very stable in the dorm room and moves if changing angle.
Reception is open at night so can reach out if need anything.
The level of cleanliness is not very high even when comes to bathroom cleaning and leaving toilet papers.
K.
Room very clean with all the amenities you would want. Hostel in general very spacious and clean. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Perfect location, walking distance to all the bars, restaurants and waterfront. Thanks to Turner and his team!
J.
We had a sisters weekend away so booked the King Suite with an added bed and it was perfect! It was a little snug with the 3 beds in the room but it still worked. I can image if it was just two people as originally designed there would be a lot of space to move around. The simple facilities we had were perfect. It made relaxing in the room quite easy between activities. The wifi also reached our room which was a unexpected surprise.
M.
Great value for money. Room was a little tired, TV only 2 channels and no remote control for the air conditioning. Needs a bit of a tidy up with paint and filler. However, location is AMAZING! Would definitely stay here again.
J.
It’s really good hostel for the low season price! 55$ big private room with good hot shower and balcony, clean and big kitchen. Not busy lately so very quiet. Great location! Comfortable bed. Only not happy that first day we waited half hour more for our room cuz they not finish cleaning yet. (Why not hire more workers when hotel is busy
I.
Awesome location, comfortable bed and friendly staff. Athe app for access was not great, often failed, there was mould in the shower, and the drainplug was matted with hair, see photo. The facilities are dated and need a good spruce up. There are bars across the road which play very loud music till early hours. Rooms are not spacious.
A.
Very friendly staff. Right in a centre of town ,
Very convenient, good value of money
Highly recommend
j.
Have been staying at this hostel since before lockdown and has been like a home for me and my two friends. Great common room area with plenty of things to do. Great atmosphere with guest from all over the world. Rooms are spacious and kept clean regularly. Staff are very friendly and helpful. With a main face in particular who has been helping us since the beginning. (Sam). What a great place to stay!
N.
Our private room was clean and excellent value for money. The kitchen and shared spaces lacked some of the organisation and cleanliness observed in other hostels, however there was a great social vibe. Good for singles with lots of activities amd entertainment available through Nomad.
M.
Good budget accommodation right in the centre of Queenstown...once we'd figured out how to check in via the app...wasnt at all straight forward.
J.
Best hostel for those wanting a social life and being centrally located. You'll meet plenty types of people and I loved this hostel for the social factor. No problem with the rooms. You'll have no problem if you can tolerate like late night walk-ins, loud neighbours, and loud bars nearby. Kitchen fridges were usually full but I found space for my food and mostly ate out anyway. Staff were friendly enough.
A.
Love the place. Is clean and tidy with a beautiful style. 👍Jack the guy in reception is so friendly, he is always smiling and helping around, he make me realize how important is customer service.🤯 He even help me to order my dinner to the hostel. ❤️
R.
Great stay and perfect location in the heart of Queenstown. HUGE thanks to Eoin at the booking desk, I’d lost my license and thought a trip to Milford Sound was off. He saved the day and wrangled us on a bus the next day.
Shoutout to Altitude and the driver Roland for squeezing us on the bus for a comfortable and informative ride.
D.
A good location near the lake and within walking distance from shops and restaurants. We had a balcony with the view of the mountains (never mind the crane) that was good for a nice drink at night; we shared it with the other room but they kept their curtains closed so we had it by ourselves. The heater was centrally-controlled but we just opened the balcony doors if the room gets too warm. Good sized bathroom and the hot water comes fast. Friendly staff with efficient check-in and check-out.
The only bad thing is that the rubbish collection for bottles from the bar below us is way too early and noisy.
G.
Ok for what it is, no spare blankets have to keep warm with a top sheet and thin duvet cover. Just a bed for the night, it's handy has a delicious Thai restaurant across the road.
L.
We had a terrible night at this hostel, the door to our patio was broken and couldn't close, we could hear everything happening on the backstreet from drunk people screaming all throughout the night to music from the nearby bars. The kitchen was overcrowded by bags on the counter and dirty dishes in the sinks, hopefully our meal was already ready and we only needed a microwave to warm it. The only positive is the room which has nice facilities and is quite spacious.
J.
The location is great (right in the main part of QT) but with that comes the noise from the nightlife. I didn’t get to sleep until 5am the one night because the bar next door was so loud.
They are also a dry hostel which we found irritating because we couldn’t even have just a casual drink with our friends unless we went out.
I like the room though, the bed was comfy and nice.
T.
Loved this hostel, the location is convenient, it's spacious and clean.
The TV room is a real plus and allow for great evening with the other guests.
The rooms have little terraces (With the thing to dry your clothes on) witch is also really nice to have !
Sadly the kitchen closes really early (around 9:30 PM), the toasts provided for breakfast are all finished before 8 AM, which is also a bit disappointing (But it's free, so hard to complain)
K.
Love essaying at this hostel. I've stayed three times now as a solo and with a partner. Its clean, cheap and comfortable.
Right in the middle of all the action and still reasonably quiet. Do expect some noise in the rooms though with some being closer to the bars than others.
J.
First and foremost the welcome at reception at arrival was wonderful. James and Eion checked us in with no hassell. We stayed in a double room with an ensuite on the third floor. The room was comfortable, well laid out and we had a great nights rest.
The hostel facilities were of high quality. Clean and well maintained.
The sauna and lounge area were our favourite. Would definitely recommend staying at Nomads Queenstown Hostel for solo travellers and couples.
Thanks for a wonderful stay.
r.
Wonderful atmosphere, great staff especially Jack on nights. The whole team were amazing. A home away from home! Will definitely be back again
S.
Room bit dirty, ensuite shower drainer required cleaning. Not refunded the towel deposit. Girl on desk very obliging on arrival.
M.
Really big place for backpackers!!
I highly recommand, it was so much fun to meet people there, close to the beach, and even the taxi come to you directly to bring you in Queenstown's airport at 5am...When you get it because I was so waisted that I forgot to wake up and lost my flight to Japan...
I know...my bad! ;)
D.
I really enjoyed my stay at Nomads in Queenstown. During my 2 week holiday in Queens, I stayed in a total of 4 hostels. Nomads was the best combination of amenities, location, price, and friendly staff. Nikki Leitzke & Sam (at the reception desk) were extremely helpful in setting up my accommodations each time I booked a reservation. The dorm rooms met the standards and expectations of shared bed occupancy. Overall, Nomads is a great hostel and the staff make you feel very welcome.
R.
This hostel was accommodating to my needs and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I was happy with the value. I stayed in a 8 bed dorm, the beds were quite squeaky and I could feel the bed frame through the mattress. The washrooms were cramped but were manageable. The kitchen seems to have everything you would need plus more. Overall it was a good hostel.
R.
I had a great time at Nomads! My rooms were always clean and tidy. All of the staff were lovely and made me as comfortable as possible. Ellie at reception helped me out so many times when I needed to extend my stay.
S.
Came in and good old Eoin helped us out, he was super helpful and had great customer service, lovely lad.
A.
Great hostel right in the middle of the centre. Lovely atmosphere and Eoin at the travel desk went above and beyond to make our stay memorable!
E.
My stay at the nomads was top quality, the bathroom were always clean, same with the kitchen. My room was really nice too, it was warm and the bed was comfortable.
And the vibe around the hostel was in point great people all around. The staff was amazing as well especially Eoin and Mathias they were always really helpful and just straight up awesome guys
I can really recommend the nomads it's well worth the price they're asjing
P.
Awesome stay at nomads. Great hostel. Queenstown is an amazing place and it was so nice to stay in such a friendly place for my time here. Ellie at reception was always happy to help, sorted us out with some bar crawl tickets, we made so many new friends that night! WiFi could be a little better though!
B.
Very nice lounge area clean in general. No services included everything is an extra charge and it's very very loud at night. The walls are very thin and there are some very loud bars right behind it. Nice space for the price but If you like your sleep don't expect to get much.
M.
Very nice hostel, a nice kitchen and public room to meet other people. Good location in the city center. The staff was very helpful and they have good service if you want to book something. Would come back here!
W.
Room is tidy and clean, reception is friendly. The kitchen can be crowded at some times , with everyone here and there, cooking, washing, packing etc. And there's always some mess like cardboards, leftover drinks, beer bottles in the kitchen but overall it's a good deal with the price.
g.
We had a twin room/bath. Small but very clean. Breakfast included (bread, butter, jam) in the common room. We enjoyed our stay - friendly front desk staff. Location was perfect - right downtown. Great place to stay if you are touring on the cheap.

Stayed in a private room on 3rd floor with a balcony and a magnificent view on Queenstown. The room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. They can help you book activities in the city. The hostel looked fully booked but it wasn't too loud. My only complaint would be that the free WiFi is pretty weak (in the room didn't tries else where), but it's Queenstown so you shouldn't be on your phone.
J.
Best of the Nomads I’ve stayed at but missing a few basics still. Rooms have no lockers or larger storage other than small boxes on walls which is disappointing. WiFi is rubbish and bathrooms a bit messy. Our dorm was a good size however.
N.
Loved staying at Nomads!! Hostel was always clean and shared amenities were great. My favourite part, aside from being in the heart of Queenstown, was getting to know people from all over the world. Everyone there was super friendly and accomodating. Danny at reception truly went above and beyond. He made our trip to Queenstown a far greater experience.
x.
My stay has been great! The hostel facilities are incredible, there's a great communal area with a fire, sofas and a pool table. The staff are all friendly, especially Jack who helped me out so much! Deffo recommend
L.
I can only recommend the private king room at Nomads. Yes we could hear music until ~midnight Thursday-Sunday but the room was a good value and the hostel is in a great location.
The room had a comfortable bed, mini fridge, patio (shared), good size bathroom, ample hot water in the shower, good wifi and I liked the Goki Bluetooth key entry. Also shoutout to Sam from the UK who checked us in and was extremely helpful.
I wouldn’t want to stay here in the classic dorm rooms. I didn’t see them but judging by the condition of the kitchen and lounge, I don’t imagine they’re nice. The comunal areas are very grungy; stuff left out, crumbs everywhere, broken microwave (missing door release) and toaster (lever doesn’t work)... yes we were here after covid but it appeared there were several long-termers residing here with little respect for the place. Not the vibe I like in hostels.
If you’re traveling as a couple and keen on doing your own thing, the private rooms are great. And budget friendly 👍
H.
This place is a machine. Lots of people. Kitchen is always packed, so this can be a good place to meet people. Most guests seem to be coming off Kiwi Experience buses. Meaning everyone is pretty happy, go lucky, and down for a good time.
Can be a bit noisy with the local nightlife in the back alley, but facilities are decent. Not the cleanest, but given how big and busy this place is, it's actually quite impressive how many people they're attending to.
Great location down the block from the beach. 24hr convenience store around the corner. Handy place, but I might go elsewhere if there was availability.
C.
Very customer oriented staff! <br/>Nomads Queenstown is a nice, modern and clean hostel with lots of space. Though what I enjoyed the most during my stay was the warmth and supportive attitude of the staff there - especially Ellie from the reception was very solution-/customer oriented which I will keep in my mind when choosing a hostel for my next stay in Queenstown!
R.
Room is good for the money paid. The room seemed clean and the bed is comfortable. Staff is ok. The main problem is the location which is good and bad at the same time. There are a few bars right outside our little porch( on the street where the hotel is located) and since they are having parties there is a lot of noise in our room the big window doesn't block it well enough. Another thing is there is no parking at the hotel, you need to park a few minutes away.
J.
I spent the entirety of lockdown in this amazing hostel! The rooms are tidy and cleaned regularly. Great common room with a pool table and space to socialise in front of the fire. Perfect location for walks and treks. The staff, especially Sam and Eoin (who went the extra mile) were knowledgable and friendly and helped make sure I got the most out of my stay in queenstown. Can’t wait to stay here again.
J.
I had a great time at Nomads. I arrived and found that my room was overbooked, however I had great customer service and they happily upgraded me to a different room. with a balcony. The facilities were clean and modern, and the location was just perfect! Free dinner was a definite bonus for me on a budget. It was a bit noisy at times with the party buzz of Queenstown, but that's the scene in the city night. Also didn't have breakfast one morning, but no biggie. Would stay again, and recommend to others! Fantastic place
L.
Had a rather lovely stay when we first got to Queenstown, the moving to different rooms every 4 to 8 days was always a delightful change of scenery, visiting most rooms in the rooms on the hostel, keeping a fresh outlook on Queenstown with a different view each week. Ellie was a great help when we left it too late to book a bed and were almost homeless in peak season
S.
I wanted to rate this 3.5, but that would be unfair as my overall this place was alright. 24hr front desk which was handy, towel hire if you don’t have one ($5 + $10 deposit a bit pricey)
The place appeared overall clean, though the ensuite toilet to my dorm as well as my dorm floor appeared to not have been vacuumed and mopped for weeks. (Dust is clearly not settling in 1-2 days on that scale)
I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you are not planning on partying (at least on weekends). My room stunk of female perfume and with no window, it was uncomfortable to breathe. The beds were comfy, although there wasn’t much sleeping going on in our room...
If I would return to this area, I personally would rather stay out of the city a bit more to limit party goers.
B.
Myself and my girlfriend were struggling to find accommodation for 2 nights so we went to Nomads and Eoin was so helpful and managed to squeeze us in last minute in peek season!! Absolute life saver. Plus the rooms and view from the balcony is great
J.
The desk staff was wonderfully welcoming and helpful. The location was perfect, close to everything. The room was comfortable and clean. It was pretty quiet, and had awesome group events. We went to the bar crawl and had a blast, even though we were at least 30 years older that the typical customer :)
T.
The best hostel I've stayed in, in Queenstown. Reasonably priced, great location, parking, big rooms, friendly staff, clean and modern. Added bonus of the sauna and some rooms have their own balcony. Good mix of long termers and the kiwi experience lot.
E.
Nomads has been a brilliant experience for me. The hostel has a friendly vibe, everyone staying here is just having fun. The staff are amazing, Ellie was super helpful and fun to deal with at reception! Best hostel in town!
J.
Right in the heart of Queenstown, we have a private twin room on the top floor... Great size, clean and comfy with ensuite bathroom. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We didn't use the communal facilities but seems well appointed.
M.
Staying in nomads was my best experience in Queenstown. Location is very flexible. This hotel is very clean and tidy. Staff's are very friendly and helpful. They make sure the guests will enjoy their time. I will recommend everyone to stay here.
A.
Such a great experience! It’s a minute walk, if that, to the lake, there is a huge lounge to hang out in and the facilities are incredibly clean. Also, the employees helped us plan out the rest of our trip in New Zealand. Shoutout to Eoin and Mary Anne for being so nice and helpful.
J.
Very well located and clean hostel. Good staff members overall but big shout particularly to Ronja who helped me out a lot, always with a big smile in her face.
Would recommend the stay and definitely come back again.
H.
Enjoyed a lot my stay in Nomads in Queenstown. Clean rooms, bathrooms and common areas. Especially the super nice and friendly staff makes an pleasant contrast to other hostels. They always keep the kitchen clean and tidy up after the stupid people who cannot clean their own dishes.
Thanks a lot for the nice stay in Nomads Queenstown!
J.
Great hostel, full of people but they do a great job managing that many guests. Loved the balconies off of the rooms and the social events. Laundry didn't work so well but maybe that was just a fluke (the dryer wasn't really drying). Would absolutely recommend!!!
I.
One of the staff members, Jack, was incredible. Made our stay at nomads an amazing experience! The hostel rooms are clean and have an awesome balcony. Highly recommend!
C.
Great hostel. Everything was really clean and very central location. Planned our whole trip with the information desk as we had nothing planned before we got there. Very happy!
F.
I loved it here! Not only Queenstown itself, but the location of this hostel- well- you just can't ask for better! Plus, it's SO NICE inside- brand-new! Seriously, the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in- and I have stayed EVERYWHERE. Everyone who works here is so helpful and so nice. It's too bad not all the guests take good care of the space- I was always surprised to see people being crazy messy and leaving crap all over the dorms or bathrooms, but the staff does it's best to keep up with them. Maybe if there were hooks and lockers or under-the bed storage or something, we could cut down on having crap all over the floor everywhere. Otherwise, super-safe and comfortable with great amenities and a lovely shower space!
D.
Typical lively hostel. It's not dirty but not too clean either bit good value for money and staff are always helpful and friendly. Although they allow some people to bring alcohol in then not others... people were having sex in the mixed dorm which is a bit disturbing and inconsiderate but is that a norm in hostels? First for me anyway! Wi-Fi is decent and free in reception area, but quality drops off further away you are i.e. room, kitchen, lounge. Seems a secure and friendly place. I often left my phone and gadgets on charge in my room unattended with 9 others sharing a room and had no problems. Key card to your room is handy as you know only people sharing your room have access and staff. Showers are generally warm in the morning and cold in the evenings. Also cleaner in the mornings too. Plenty of shower and toilet stalls, never had to wait around. Storage is good and secure for luggage if you can check in until 2pm but arrive early. Also storage for ski gear in the basement is useful! Location is great, very lively and so much places to eat and drink if you don't fancy cooking in a very decent size kitchen( which can get hectic). All in all you get what you pay for and really can't praise the staff enough they are great!
J.
HI
This is the second time I stayed at Nomads Queenstown. I love the location and the friendly staff who are very helpful. If there is a complaint to be made, it's the wash basin which "floods" each time I brush my teeth or wash my face. Otherwise, the executive room is perfect with a nice balcony overlooking the beautiful lake and my favourite pub The World (used to be Monty's). Really enjoyed my stay there.
P.
Really enjoyed this hostel, met a ton of great people. Great location, below average rooms, but know it’s absolutely terrible WiFi. However, Sheldon at the front desk was 10/10 guy, helped me out immensely, so talk to him if you can.
R.
Stayed here a few days ago, room were tidy the staff were great especiall the receptionist Ellie. The hostel had a really nice atmosphere and the location is is good also. Would stay here again.
J.
Great place. Good staff. Great location
S.
It was a great backpacker if you are looking for a fun, party type atmosphere. I loved the helpful staff at the travel desk. It was very clean. The only downsides were that they turn the WIFI off at 8 pm and make you buy it if you want more and that they close the kitchen completely at night so you can't get even a cup for water. Overall, a fantastic backpacker though!
C.
My experience with Nomads Queenstown was amazing! Great location and very clean/has all the necessities. Would definitely recommend if travelling through Queenstown. Specifically Sheldon helped me and my friends hostel experience run seamlessly!
H.
8-people dorm is clean and spacious. Each bed has their own power socket. Sufficient bathrooms and toilet but sometimes the toilet can be quite dirty. Walking distance to many atrractions. Free Wifi is good only in reception area but not in the room. Receptionists are helpful and friendly. Free breakfast (bread) is provided.
C.
The staff at Nomad are amazing and the facilities are well kept and clean. Best part of all is their event organiser Jake. His an expert on the best areas to go for an adventure with super discounted packages. Super easy to book activities and his superb knowledge on the skiing resorts makes Nomad the Number 1 spot for NZ for Snowboarding and Skiing. Great place, great vibes. Will be back soon.
D.
We were in a private ensuite room, with a shared balcony. Room and facilities were fine. One staff member on reception was very gruff and brusque, but other than her very nice.
The people next door were smoking drinking and partying on the balcony till late. Staff were helpful.
D.
Nomads is the most upmarket hostel I've ever stayed in: more like a good hotel than a hostel. The location is in the centre of the action in town and close to the water. My wife and I had a small en-suite twin room with a large balcony overlooking the street. The room was clean and comfortable and the shower was great. The communal kitchen was huge and well-organized, with 'Hostel Helpers' making sure that the place was kept clean and tidy. Our only small complaint was about the initial difficulty we encountered getting WiFi access, but the staff were helpful and gave us each 24 hours of free WiFi. Nomads is a great place to stay regardless of your age.
A.
Ellie is the homegirl! She made our girls trip by making sure we all stuck together like glue!! Hostel tho could use some work the first room we checked into was gross. And the wifi cuts in and out. But overall great place to stay at!
K.
Stayed here for 4 nights, had to move around rooms 3 times but didn't mind it since each time was an opportunity to meet new people. All rooms were very clean with comfortable beds, and the bathrooms were generally very nice and almost hotel-like. The communal bathrooms were also very nice and plentiful so there was never a wait to use them. The place even has a lift, cinema room, big common room, pool tables, kitchen etc. Free breakfast and dinner was very appreciated, though dinner portions were extremely small. Since it was a dry hostel the people I stayed with did not party/drink in the room - I guess I was lucky - and sleeping even in a 6 bed dorm was easy. Overall I found it very pleasant and intimate and felt like I was on a school camp again.
The only negative I would say was the lack of free wifi, and even after purchasing wifi, it barely worked in one of the rooms, and did not work at all in another room - fixed by going outside the room. Still slightly inconvenient.
L.
Good and tidy rooms and bathroom. Friendly staff. A normal big city hostel with a lot of people but also a lot to do with good deals (free meals etc.) The only minor thing is a pretty unorganized feather small kitchen and not so many seating opportunities for eating.
D.
Really great experience here. Decided on a private ensuite. The room was spacious, had a lot of light, and a shared balcony which was a really nice and unexpected touch. The bathroom was large as well, and the shower was a lovely walk in shower, with amazing pressure. The curtains blocked out the light really well, which is handy for light sleepers. The staff were all very helpful and nice, and the common room was huge with an amazing fire. Would definitely stay again. Loved it. Also parking in the Wilson's carpark is a great deal, $10 for 24 hours, and this was located right beside the hostel. Thanks Nomads! :)
N.
My husband and I stayed at Nomads for 6 nights. The room was great!!! We had a balcony with a great view too. I expected the free hostel breakfast but was extra delighted to know that our stay came with free dinner as well!
They had the best staff ever and we really felt taken care of.
Thank you Nomads! Special shout out to Baz! Gutted that we couldn't say goodbye!
S.
The room we stayed in was as advertised with the amenities you would expect of a hostel. We always had warm water, clean sheets, and a clean room. No complaints other than youth that were occasionally loud and loitering late at night in the hostel, however this was to be expected with a music festival in town. Location and price are pretty unbeatable for Queenstown.
J.
Fantastic hostel, Jack at the front desk helped us out in a pinch, would 100% stay here again. Great location, parking across the street ($4 an hour during the day, free at night), and lots of activities.
A.
Rooms are spacious and clean with a heat pump in each one. Common showers and toilets are generally clean with good water pressure. Free breakfast every morning is toast with butter and 2 jam spreads. There's a free dinner at loco if you're staying there but only get an entrée sized portion for free, for an additional $4 you get a beer and a main size portion. Kitchen facilities were never too busy although storage was always pretty full. No alcohol is allowed in the rooms, if found by the cleaners it will be taken and returned to you on departure.
A.
Liked the accommodation and the facilities. The free breakfast and dinner was a lovely touch. It was fairly hard to get towels changed and I'm not sure if we had to wash our own tea cups downstairs but they were also not replaced nor the tea bags etc. Great bathroom facilities and comfy beds, thanks :)
R.
I booked a private room with ensuite. The price was great and I found the room to be surprisingly modern, clean, functional, and comfortable. Really as nice as many hotels I have stayed in. Reception was super friendly and the internet strong (paid a bit for a few days use). The location was great right by the water, park, all the restaurants, and the bus station. I wasn't crazy about the luggage room which was unattended, packed to the brim and difficult to maneuver through the narrow stairs. Otherwise I had a lovely stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
A.
I was in a private room and loved it, Caz was great, super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the view from the balcony was spectacular.
We took advantage of the free breakfast and the Wifi was $4 for unlimited use over 24 hours.
The flat screen TV was great, limited channels but ah well - overall I would stay again and recommend Nomads Queenstown to others
K.
Stayed in the king size room looking over church street and i just had to say that it was amazing! The staff were so helpfull espacially jack who was at reception most of our stay! Definently will be back and i recommend the private rooms too anyone who wants top quality without paying through the roof for it 👌😁
m.
I did enjoy the stay there and it reminder me of hostels used in europe so that was a plus. the room was very nice and well appointed. i did however not enjoy a couple having a rather long difference of opinion in the hallway outside my room at 4.00 am (they were in the neighbouring room ) so perhaps a reminder to those staying here to consider others on the inside door. otherwise as already said great and moreso when so close to the lake and the town centre.
J.
Wonderful hostel. Very modern and very clean. Kitchen and loubge area are nice an big, plenty space to socialize if you feel like it. I was lucky enough to be upgradet in my room, so that was very nice of the Nomads staff. They're also very friendly and helpful. There's free breakfast and dinner (small, but it's there). Plus it's right in the towns centre. Can only highly recommend staying here.
M.
We choose 4 beds dormitory type for 3 and surprised when we met an awesome friend (Ivy). Prepare yourself to meet many beautiful strangers here. Well organized place. But the kitchen was too crowded for me.
B.
Overall; this is a good hostel for a busy area. Very impressed to see individual showers/toliets in the hostel room. They need to add or revamp their laundry room. We were not able to successfully do laundry due to the capacity limits. They have 4 machines which is not adequate for the size of this hostel. The internet is very weak for the bandwidth required to service this hostel. I am posting the speed results which is a weak point if you need to book your next hostel or look at logistics. Overall; I would probably say this is decent for how busy Queenstown is.
P.
Nice room, friendly helpful staff. Downside is room was very close to noisy bar which didn't close until 1.00am.
D.
Enjoyed my stay at Nomads Queenstown. The rooms and toilets were well maintained and clean. They had a very cosy lounge and kitchen common area. Best of all, there were free breakfast and dinners provided! The location was also very convenient and close to good bars and shops. Only downside is that parking outside the hostel is only free from 8pm to 8am. Parking is quite expensive otherwise.
S.
Great central location, super friendly front desk staff, free dinner if you fancy it, stuff going on each night posted on the board. Large common dining and lounge. Clean and modern rooms with a heat pump - actually got too hot! Had a 4 bed (wahine section) bunk room with a balcony, private toilet and a separate shower.
Downside - NO PARKING! Free parking was a 5 min walk up the hill if you're lucky.
S.
Loving the hostel, chilled out sexy vibes. Great location. Ellie on reception is amazing and friendly, would definitely recommend this hostel to people passing through Queenstown, you will love it!

Had a great time at Nomads! If you’re looking for long term hostel as well, it’s one of the best in town. Good facilities and perfect location plus amazing staff! Big shout out to Ellie & Payhton for being absolute legends!
M.
The hostel is very clean and well located, amazing vibes! The staff is so friendly, specially Ellie on reception who was also very helpful.
Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Queenstown!
S.
Ellie was fantastic help! She got me out of s tight pickle with my bookings and I couldn’t be more grateful! I would highly recommend her if you have any questions or queries relating to booking your stay.
A.
Loved it. Been here multiple times in different rooms. The smaller dorms are worth the money due to the en suite. It's clean, great kitchen, friendly staff, almost a hotel but it's a hostel. Best of both worlds.
L.
Staying at Nomads was amazing!!! The rooms and beds were clean and generously spacious, staff were friendly and very helpful and facilities were all in awesome condition. Really appreciated the free sauna, and the music in the corridors was fun. Also, the free dinner and breakfast was really appreciated, and the deals that they offered with the other bars for every night was really cool; made it a lot easier and more enjoyable for our stay as we were students on a tight budget.
My only complaint was that a few of my items went missing when my bunkmate below me left while I was out skiing; however upon asking reception, they were very helpful and kind about it, and found that they had put my things in lost property. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I visit queenstown, thank you so much Nomads for being such awesome hosts :)
T.
Location is great. Right near the lake and Central to all activities and good bars and restaurants. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The place is definitely full of young travellers but they offer great single rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Perfect for our needs. Thank you
S.
Ewan was a great host made our experience very enjoyable
W.
Great hostel. clean and comfortable. Great location in the town centre. Great staff. Ellie was really clued up on queenstown, knew all the best places to eat and drink! Lovely stay!
K.
I stayed at Nomads as it was cheaper than a campground in Queenstown. The hostel had a nice vibe but could be quite loud depending on the night. They have nightly events so be prepared to have drunk people walking into the room all times of the night. The bathroom constantly smelled of sewage. The hostel has very few utensils given how many people stay there. Wi-Fi mostly just in reception but was sometimes accessible on the first floor. Okay for a couple of nights but not long-term.
A.
This was perfect and exactly what we were after. Welcoming helpful staff and amazing view from the room we had on the third floor. Fantastic servicing each day :).
The only thing would be that we parked down in the Wilsons Car Park but we couldn't use the lift to get back up. It would have been extra AMAZING if our cards worked to get into the lift part to go straight to room (by the ski storage/basement lift).
Thanks so much for the lovely accommodation.
Ashley and Mark
M.
A really happy experience, the place is very well run, very friendly, super clean. Every facility that you could want. A-mazing value. The team are very dedicated Eoin runs a very good ship.
K.
Good backpackers, clean and equiped. The staff are kind and helpful, although the luggage and ski storage need improving. There seems to be a consistent problem with poorly designed and leaking showers in the private rooms as we stayed in multiple with the same flaw. There is also a constant fan thing in the bathroom and bedroom that means you never get full peace and you always get airflow even if you turn the aircon off. For private rooms, bedding and towels are provided. Free wifi in the lobby is great. Also not all rooms have natural light which is weird to wake up to.
D.
Absolutely love the friendly front desk staff, very accommodating and helpful. Made our late check-in smooth and on top of that he still took time to give us a run down about everything Nomads has to offer and a lil bit bout the town.
About the place, it's cozy and very spacious for a private ensuite room and everything is in working order.
Only down side is the parking if you're renting a car, but if you don't mind a 5 minute walk, there's free parking near the park.
K.
I stayed here a for a while and the experience was so friendly.
The hostel was clean and welcoming and Ellie on reception was helpful with anything we needed.
Would definitely stay here again if I’m back in Queenstown. :)
P.
Good value hostel in Central queenstown. Rooms in front seemed quieter than at the back however found the aircon fairly noisy. Could use more hooks in the room otherwise no other complaints.
T.
Today we checked into Nomads in Queenstown with Kiwi Experience. I was very pleased at the service with Ronja at the front desk. She was welcoming and got us setup quickly so we could make the most of our time with our short stay here.
C.
Nice facility and good location. It was super full when we were there so the common areas definitely felt crowded and over filled. Bathrooms were not able to be kept super clean with such heavy use either. Aside from feeling over filled and a bit chaotic - it's a nice place. Does not offer free WiFi which is surprising for a place of it's capacity. Friendly staff.
H.
OMG. Such amazing customer service!! Unbelievable. Big thanks to Chris for helping us to get a car without nz drivers license. And Charlie for helping us with our paper work. Highly recommend nomad's hostel for bookings and stay!
E.
Fantastic Hostel, clean, cheap, and with all the amenities you could possibly want. Our $18 room even had it's own ensuite bathroom. Would recommend
E.
It's a good, cheap hostel. But if you need a view/window make sure to request one, as our first room had a every small window which we couldn't see out of.
D.
Clean dorm rooms, stayed for 2 weeks. Queenstown is a lot of fun, all the staff knew the best places to go and best activities to get stuck into. Ellie on reception was exceptionally helpful. Thank you nomads for a brilliant stay in Queenstown! 😆
D.
Had an exceptional stay at nomads. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and the environment in the common room is much better than most hostels I've stayed in. I stayed in a private room and housekeeping came everyday and the place was very tidy. I'd like to thank all the staff as well for going above and beyond to make my stay the very best it could be. Shout outs to James, Emer, Chris, Ronja, Makena, Eoin, Marianne, Charlie, Mathias, Sheldon and Jack. You're work doesn't go un noticed. See you all next time!!
R.
Lovely location rihgt in CBD! Easy access to the bars.
Special shout out to Charlie and Ewan! Me and my friends stayed for a few nights recently and they constantly had us in stitches- bringing the vibes from start to finish. They gave us so much advice. Charlie told us all about what bars would be good on which nights and Ewan helped us with our activities in town. The rest of the staff were really helpful but if you have ANY questions about queenstown or you're just up for a good story and a laugh, speak to these two. Jack was also really helpful.
Will definitely return!
P.
If your a younger traveller perhaps 20s to early thirties..then this Hostel is very well located for the more socially acive and party type personalities. Its clean.. very well set up and run.... and has good shower.and bathroom facilities.
I would add it is definately NOISY and far from peaceful.. in almost every way...and is tired in need of an update and rejuvenation in zones. Good value though
D.
Very nice place to stay in for the price. Central to everything and friendly/helpful staff. Would have been 5 stars however I think you guys should invest in some new pillows! They were quite lumpy but was only a small issue that could be overlooked due to the type of accommodation.
Would definitely stay here again if I ever get the chance to return to Queenstown :)
R.
Jake is great on reception was a great help. Made my stay perfect and easy! Love nomads I would come back. Barry on the cleaning team is a cool guy, give him a raise!
L.
It was an amazing stay here. We planned our whole Australia trip with Holly! She was just amazing. Always happy and full of energy! Thank you so much to make this trip possible!
C.
Queenstown is an incredible place made even better with this hostel. Stayed in hostels all over new zealand and Queenstown Nomads is unlike anywhere ive stayed so far. Its clean, facilities are outstanding and the staff are fantastic. Bill the events promoter is brilliant and always keeping people busy with different activities during the day and in the evening. Ryan who always seemed to be working is fantastic and always had the free dinner ready 6 sharp! Rich on night shifts was always really helpful and fun at all hours of the morning and is always up for a chat. Great hostel overall 10/10
K.
Good facilities, cinema room, huge kitchen, good baths, I checked in late arnound 9pm for a dorm room and luckily I was the only person in that room. The hostel was full with guests and I checked in for ensuite down with 4 bed. Few dollars more but got a much deserved sleep. The only issue I see is no free parking (you can park after 6pm for free) but during day time you cannot leave your car there. The location is so awesome just two mins walking from town centre
N.
Stayed there for 2 nights. Nice people at the front desk, even if you want to check in after midnight! I stayed in a wowen 6 dorm with ensuite bathroom. The room was pretty nice, but I kind of missed a place to put some stuff. Not really a wardrobe, more a table or something similar.
The lounge area offers enough space to hang out or meet new people. and the location right at the lake front is just amazing!
One loss in stars is because of the loud nights. I know it is a hostel, but the bar/club next to the room was freaking loud...
A.
The hostel was very clean and the staff was very friendly at all times. Check in times are quick and the free breakfast is good. Ronja especially was very helpful when I had problems checking in. 5 stars.
T.
Conveniently located in the heart of Queenstown this hostel offers modern shared rooms with bunk beds and several shared facilities like a cosy common room and a free sauna. Dinner and breakfast are included. Staff was a bit sassy acting like this is heaven and we should be happy to get a bed tonight. Mattresses are quite thin. All in all good value for money though.
C.
Very nice place. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the position is just in the city centre, near the shopping and restaurants area. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean. Would definitely recommend this hostel and I'd stay here again if I ever get the chance to return to Queenstown.
P.
Good, clean & spacious room. Friendly staff. Very, very noisy bar / night club just below our balcony which kept us awake until 2 & 3 am!
A.
Love how Nomads in clean and tidy on arrival. Staff on reception are always friendly and helpful.
Only bit of negative feed back from this stay would be that one of your male staff came into female only dorm I was staying in without knocking before hand (I was in there with 2 others at the time and one was literally about to get changed)
I've stayed with you in the past and will continue to stay with you on some future stay's in Queenstown!!
Thanks guys
s.
I have been staying staying at nomads for the past few days and have had a very happy stay. Rooms are very nice and facilities are kept very clean! Shout out to Ronja on the desk for always being very helpful and a friendly face in reception!
R.
Loved staying here. It was quiet, friendly backpackers, nice staff and hospitality, kitchen for use, clean and cool. You can enjoy cold summer here. Also good sea view. And close to public transport. 2 mins from heart of the town. Also a travel agent at helpdesk. And storage room. I stayed in private room with attached toilet and I liked the room.
J.
Nomads is the place to stay as a backpacker in Queenstown! We had a problem with moving on from Queenstown with our tour bus so we had 2 unexpected nights in Queenstown and no accommodation. We spoke to Eoin at the reception and he worked his magic and got us 2 beds for the nights we needed! He was so helpful and understanding of the situation we were in, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! What a life saver!
L.
For a Nomads this actually wasn’t too bad. Free breakfast was definitely a bonus. The staff were pretty friendly and it was relatively clean.
It’s still a Nomads it was still pretty soulless. Plus no alcohol allowed.
L.
Stayed here in one of the ensuite private rooms. We had a small issue and discussed it with Tasch on reception who was absolutely awesome. She helped us out loads and we were very grateful for her assistance.
This place was a great hub for us whilst snowboarding at Cadrona and would recommend it.
P.
Friendly and helpful staff. The storage room to store our bike boxes for a week between our stays was extremely useful. Beautiful view from our 3rd floor bedroom. This was our 3rd enjoyable stay at Nomads when visiting from Melbourne.
M.
Did not like the kitchen and the fridges were packed. But they have a massive common area, with a pool table, cinema room and balcony. Great staff and awesome people!
Clean toilets aswell.
A.
We had a Double Ensuite Room. It was fantastic: pretty new and modern room, very clean, a working lift, a balcony with a fantastic view, enough space - what more could we wish for?
We even had some great entertainment from the room next door, a couple fighting over nonsense stuff like she got lost in the city (how can one get lost there???) and he didn't wait or look for her but was lying in bed watching TV. It was great. I would give an extra star for that ;)
(no, the walls are not thin, she was just very loud)
S.
Fantastic hostel!
Clean and tidy with great facilities.
All the staff seem really friendly and helpful
- Ellie is my favourite, she truly touched me <3
s.
Absolutely exceptional location Amazing super friendly staff with the exception of booking tours at the tour desk . The guy that is booking tours should be in a broom closet away from guest.
he is unhelpful nasty employee who puts a ding in overall 5 star ratting!
everything else about Nomads is fantastical.
E.
Great location. Pretty clean overall. No alcohol is allowed in the hostel. Staff computers are always down and check in/outs take a long time.
B.
The location, atmosphere, professionalism and cleanliness at Nomads is top notch!! I would give 5 stars if the wifi was free and the kitchen had an oven and didn't close at 10pm.
Ultimately, I highly recommend this hostel.
t.
Eoin had amazing service, great time spent. Thanks heaps especially to eoin
E.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Very well located in the city center. Nice common areas and clean bathroom and showers. I recommend this hostel !
C.
Amazing service, shout out to Jake who welcomed us and made sure we were all sorted. Also gave us some great advice for our onwards travels. Hope you enjoy your free dinner mate🤙🏽
A.
really good facilities, nice staff, great location, just a very nice hostel in general. the common area gets a bit crowded yet it remains fairly clean which is nice too.
P.
One of the best hostels I've had so far in NZ ! Perfect location, very clean, staff very comprehensive !
Special mention to Jack at the reception ! This guy is the most helpful person I had in a hostel !
R.
Stayed in one of the on-suite double rooms, very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Never did backpakking and a little to old for it now but this would seem to be an above standard of what you might expect and judging by the comments here and the youngsters we met I think most would agree. Enjoyed our stay
I.
Nomads in Queenstown is the best! Loved my stay, the staff including the "NC's" was super friendly, cool and helpful. It was clean and the common room was really nice. Loved the sauna and the fireplace. The fact that the hostel was so central was a huge plus as well. Go Nomads Queenstown!
M.
Great hostel. I wasn't there for long, but the guests and people that work there are friendly. It's organized, there are plenty of bathroom facilities, and they provide free breakfast and dinner. I would go back!
D.
Danny at front desk made everything soo easy. Good vibes. Real sales person. Had a lot of knowledge about Queenstown and it’s nuances. Gave us a lot to do for our two days here. He’s an asset.
b.
Staff was super friendly. It is located perfectly, right in the middle of the town
A 2 minute walk to lake Wakatipu. However if your a light sleeper there is music playing throughout the night. Didnt mind tho
D.
Got a free upgrade to stay in a different room, great hostel, Ellie and Jake were excellent, best hostel in Queenstown. Jimmy has the softest hands in Queenstown, let him clean your room!
N.
As far as hostels go it was very clean and the facilities were possibly the best I've ever seen in a hostel.
I wasn't a fan of the $4 fee for 24hrs of internet allthough it seems like this is fairly standard in NZ. The breakfast also wasn't as good as most breakfasts I've had at other hostels around the world.
R.
Had fantastic room with a great view
L.
Really good bedrooms with nice beds, balcony and clean toilet, kitchen was very clean, staff informative and was nice to have breakfast included! Perfect location, right in the center to go out clubbing/to pubs but quiet enough to be able to sleep when you want.
B.
Lovely staff especially the bearded guy on reception on Friday night. Love that you can get free breakfast and dinner. Really cool place, so happy with our upgrade. Definitely will be back :)
l.
Nomads Backpackers is a great hostel for so many reaons- it's central to Queenstown, cheap, clean and filled with great short term and long term guests. However, what really makes this place great is the staff Chris -especially, who has always gone above and beyond to help me. I recently moved to Queenstown 2 weeks ago and stayed in Nomads at the beginning of my move. Chris helped me then with some admin bits and still helps me now. Thanks Chris for helping me to settle in!
F.
Jenica the QUEEN and James were amazing! The hostel experience was wonderful. The frisbee was the bees nees. I would highly recommend staying at this location. Are you on the fence? Don’t, just book it.
J.

Great location downtown, walking distance to the lake, restaurants and shopping. Reasonably priced. Our double room with a bunk bed has lots of room to spread out. No windows. Clean.
S.
The place was clean and comfy. Jack was super helpful and friendly at the front desk and gave us all the info we needed. Highly recommend.
J.
Ellie is an absolute star who went above and beyond to keep our group together on our girls trip. She rocks. Otherwise, hostel is pretty good as well. Super central location and massive.
J.
Amazing stay here at nomads. Good location, can be little loud at night but Ellie sorted me out with a sweet room and some ear plugs! Very helpful staff!
h.
If you like big hostels with the possobilty to find people for partys, this could be a good hostel. Kitchen is a little bit too small, but clean. Bathrooms are also clean, just a little bit smelly. The common area is quite nice with the fireplace. Wifi is not free as promised on the website. Beds are not really nice, you can feel the springs and when someone is moving, the whole bunk-bed is shaking. But at least the bedrooms have lockers and small balcony with clothes horses for drying your clothes. It's really nice that you get free breakfast (toast + jam) and some dinner (not much, but at least it'sfree). It was my second time is Queenstown. The last time I stayed at Sir Cedrics. It was a much more familiar hostel. I personally prefered that one.
J.
I expected it to be louder here but it was a pretty good place to sleep, the only problem is it's proximity to the street which was quite loud. I always forget the Wi-Fi situation at these places and it is disappointing how bad it is. The people staying here and the people working here were a good bunch! For the price and availability it's good.
R.
Decent rooms, everything worked however lack of windows was a bit unexpected but didn’t hinder experience. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, Jake was a great help organising our next hotel
L.
Great hostel, clean, with sociable atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and accommodating! Especially Jack, who has helped me out on multiple occasions
A.
Probably the best hostel I've stayed in: cheap, clean, great amount of toilets and showers, sauna, cinema room, free breakfast and dinner - just everything you can ask for! And perfectly located about 2 min from the lake. I would recommend this hostel to anyone :)
D.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at Nomads Queenstown. The accommodation was kept very clean, the staff were great fun and very helpful! Thanks Ronja for helping out! I’d recommend anybody looking to stay in Queenstown to book in for a few nights!
L.
Stayed in a private twin ensuite room, very clean and well presented. Staff were helpful, especially the tour desk. Location is amazing, 2 minute walk to the lake and adventure shops.
K.
Great hostel. Stayed in a mixed 6 dorm. Good kitchen and dining area. Pool table was great addition. Bed were very uncomfortable though!
E.
Location is good. We had the combi room ( a single bed and a queen bed bunker with ensuite bathroom). Staffs are helpful but the rooms can be cleaner.
T.
very nice hostel, staff were outstanding and very friendly! a couple of minor things, it would be nice to control our own rooms heatpump temperature and we had luke warm water one day. highly recommend to anyone travelling to queenstown, and i will use again when im back
J.
I liked that Nomads Queenstown was very clean and organised. There are free dinners offered every night and plenty of resources if you haven't made Queenstown plans yet. The lobby and hallways felt much like a hotel. There was a big Kiwi Experience coming through, and the general age demographic was quite young. There is a free breakfast advertised on the booking site, but it's just toast, so that felt like a little bit of a rip off.
J.
Clean great size King bed room on 3rd floor. Right in town, can walk everywhere. No Parking. Need to find a park for vehicles about 4 blocks away. Friendly helpful staff.
F.
All perfect. Very friendly and helpful people there. Nice and clean rooms. Also Restrooms was mostly clean. Big kitchen for cooking. Nice athmosphere.
I had a mixed 4 bed room. During my next stay i will book it again :-)
K.
Would have received 5 Stars, if we would have had the ensuite double on the other side of the hostel (chapel street) ... result was: the party took place in our room (i think it was 304) on thursday night, very loud all night - finished off my the glass containers, which were emptied at 6:30. a sleepless night in a very nice central hostel, very modern, spacious (only kitchen could be a little bigger), cool people, helpful staff. will be back.
T.
This was the first place I've ever stayed at in NZ, and I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the room I was set up in. Contrary to the reputation held by hostels in general, I would say Nomads was a 3 star, barebones hotel. Comfortable, cozy, somewhat quiet. I say somewhat because I arrived on a Tuesday and the proximity of the bars and their loud, bassy music well into the night (1, 2 am) was bothersome. However, this isn't the fault of Nomads. There is free on street parking available until 6pm until 7 am right outside, and Starbucks, a variety store, and Devils Burger are walking distance. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here!
S.
Stayed in the female only Dorm had shower and toilet in room very clean spacious and all for $26 recommend it.
J.
Great stay at Nomads. Emer at reception was very helpful, as well as Sheldon. They were both willing to share their experiences with me and help me further in order to settle down in QT on a WHV.
J.
Lovely facility and staff. Ellie in particular went out of her way to be beyond helpful for myself and my friends. Definitely will recommend Nomads Queenstown to all my friends travelling here in the future.
R.
Jack is a legend and would hire him to take care of the queen Elizebeth. Ummmm definitely deserves and needs a pay rise. He’s simping for a Lambo. Real he is amazing (:
E.
Awesome stay all around. Very clean and comfortable, great cenral location, also Jack went above and beyond to help up with a small issue. That guy seriously deserves a raise! Thank you!
L.
Free toast (with jam and margarine) for breakfast, free tea and coffee all day, and super cool receptionists. There is a "dinner" provided at 6pm. I haven't tried it as it runs out very quickly, but it looks more snack-sized than dinner sized. Free is still free though. I stayed in the female-only ensuite. An ensuite includes a toilet and a shower (in separate rooms) in your room, and a balcony. The lockers are pretty small, but could house your electronics. The hostel has a pool table, table soccer, two fireplaces to warm your toesies at, luggage storage, and a big kitchen. Wi-Fi is free in the reception area from 8a-8p. Super convenient location, so if you want a quiet place to stay, this is not for you because it's near all the night life.
The Kiwi Experience books heaps of people through here, so if you like a party-goin crowd, this is for you.
I.
Nomads Queenstown is hands down the best backpackers I've ever visited! Lovely staff, nice facilities, great deals (free drinks!!!) with local businesses, and a great atmosphere, such a good place for the price you pay. Nice cheap accommodation, would definitely stay there again!
C.
Central location. Rooms and facilities clean and tidy. The rooms were nice and warm threw out the day. The only let down was the noise from the near by pubs ect and the other guest in our room that decided to drink alcohol in the room and spill it on the floor. Other wise it's a very nice place.
R.
Great hostel with perfect location in Queenstown, shout out to Ellie on reception who was super friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to make it a good stay! Would definitely stay again.
K.
Can’t say enough great things about this place! Clean, trendy, and functional. Love that this is a place for mid to late 20’s, early 30’s. Respectful group of people stay here. They offer a free meal during your stay!
A.
Jenica who was running activities was the absolutely bomb! What a legend. She was so fun at loco and made sure everyone was having fun. Will definitely be back to nomads QT on my next trip to NZ
E.
Fantastic facilities and right next to the lake! Also the staff really makes this place great. Eoin helped us out with all of the activities we wanted to book. Very helpful and informative!
i.
Great hostel, very kind staff. Jake was amazing with help booking all of our ski passes and transport. Great!
Thanks so much!
K.
Really good base to stay for Queenstown. Jack who works on reception was excellent, really helped out when my bus was cancelled and I can't thank him enough for all his help! :)
D.
The place was super chill and comfy. Chris was super helpful and friendly at the front desk and gave us all the info we needed. Highly recommend!
L.
Really a good hostel, clean, amazing staff, nice share room, if you look for a hostel nomad is recomend the staff are really kind...the room are great is a quiet hostel! I really enjoy my permanence there!!!
a.
I love staying in Nomads the have a really good services and the people are really nice. “Jake” is one of the most lovely person that I met so far in Queenstown he gives you some many good tips and places where to go so cool.
S.
Nice hostel clean orderly, good kitchen.
But pay for wifi? Seriously? They have free wifi but need an access code and its a pain to get from the desk if you can even figure it out
H.
Hi, this was a very nice, clean, and comfortable environment, WITH ONE EXCEPTION. I enjoyed my time in Queenstown and appreciate Nomads for hosting me and my friends, but I have a minor concern regarding the fish tank in the lobby. I expressed this to a few employees by simply asking, "Have you guys thought about getting a bigger fish tank? It seems pretty small for the two large fish inside who don't even have room to swim and are just sitting still." I asked three different employees this and the first replied, "Our boss has mentioned moving the tank into a spot with more sunlight" (unrelated), the second said "Yeah we've had a couple people comment on that" (and?), and the third gave me a judgmental look and replied, "Just curious, do you eat fish?" I am not bitter about these interactions, I just want to express my disturbance about seeing this small fish tank with clearly unhappy and uncomfortable fish inhabiting it. I assume Nomads installed this to brighten the atmosphere and give people something fun to look at, but instead I was overcome with sadness and disgust upon seeing it. I hope this review will help them realize they should take action and spend a little bit on a larger tank or get rid of it altogether. I understand the well being of some decorative fish may not be appreciated by most people, especially when there is a business to run, but the way I see it, it reflects poorly on the morals and values this establishment has been built on.
t.
There’s a big lounge and kitchen area, rooms are nice, big, and clean. Holly at the front desk was awesome! Overall a great stay.
G.
Clean, well layed out hostel with friendly staff. Good location. Quite noisy particularly if you are near the kitchen/lounge. Bring earplugs.
S.
It’s even got a suna! Love the hostel. Staff were brilliant, the girls on reception were so helpful. Special shout out to payhton and Ellie for always being friendly and sorting me out!
T.
I stayed in king size bed room for 1 night. Location of the hostel is central. Stuff at the reception was friendly and helpful.
As it was full of youngsters, though it was nosier, but it is a hostel after all.
There is a breakfast included: a bunch of people fighting for putting their bread into 2 toasters, 2 bowls of jam and 1 bowl of a toast spread.
Hostel mentions lots of entertainment, e.g. wi-fi. Sure, but you have to pay for :)
I got what I had paid for, no more.
j.
Loved nomads Queenstown. Stayed here in 2017 and returned with a warm welcome in 2019! Jake on reception is amazing! Make sure you book any travel with him he is an EXPERT when it comes to Australia!
J.
Awesome rooms, common room, clean bathrooms, kitchen and friendly staff. Best thing about staying here is the 5 minute walk from everything in town. Definitely would stay here again!
o.
My best backpacker experience so far. I am 47 years old, I do travel in backpackers since I was 17. This is the best in the world. I never write such reviews usually, or to worn people when it's really bad, but this is the best place I ever sleep in.
A.
As the name goes, it is best suited for Nomads. The hotel was full of young crowd! And a lot of young crowd was also present in communal kitchen. The downside was there is no WiFi in rooms.
K.
Overall, I enjoyed my time at Nomads Queenstown. It's centrally located. They offer free wifi in the lobby along with a activity/travel agent that came in helpful for booking things. They also offer dinner every night and have nightly activities around town.
L.
Awesome place to stay close to everything - food n drink places, shops, transport, lake wakatipu etc. Clean rooms with ensuite and balcony. Large safe/storage place. Very friendly and helpful staff
B.
Absolutely fantastic stay at nomands, room was well clean fam and the WiFi was on point, big shout out to Ellie on the front desk who provide excellent customer service and made me feel well welcome init, would highly recommend nomands to a friend cause it is sick 👍👍
A.
The hostel itself is nice, clean and not to loud,
but I definitely wouldn't use the travel agents thats in the building completely screwovers
K.
Stayed in an ensuite room so don't know how the shared bathrooms are. The room we were in was clean and the folks friendly. In a good location in the center of Queenstown. The hostel used GlobalGossip for paid internet access which was fast and unlimited.
M.
Our room was excellent along with a view of the lake. Would recommend staying to others as well as looking forward to the next time I stay. This is not only for the young as I am in my fifties.
S.
Pro's
Decent sized rooms with own storage
Free dinners at Loco, and free breakfast (toast plus condiments)
Night / reading lights by each bed
Has cooktops in kitchen
Cons
Situated behind most of Queenstown's night clubs - can be hard to get a good nights sleep
Kitchen is way too small for the size of the hostel. Not enough fridge or shelf space
Booking in peak season will likely have you changing rooms every couple of nights
R.
Danny was very helpful when we wanted to extend our stay but had a slight complication with our room change. He was very friendly and patient with us at reception.
C.
No complaints whatsoever, room very clean and all staff friendly and helpful. A big thank you for allowing baggage storage pre check in time and after check out until departure time, a tremendous service.
B.
I found the bunkroom really quiet for an inner-city hostel and the air was fresh which I have hardly ever experienced in a busy backpackers before. So I got a great sleep. And the price was right.
S.
Great rooms, excellent WiFi and a well equipped kitchen. Ellie was the most friendly and approachable staff member at reception.
J.
such a great stay!!! Danny in particular was very helpful - really great lad, going above and beyond to make our stay the best. Such great service , makes such a difference. definitely would stay again
A.
Perfect location, friendly helpful staff and great clean rooms and common areas. Was very impressed especially with how affordable the rooms are!
A.
It was a great stay. The only downfall was that I was unaware (until checking in) that this is a dry hostel. I understand why etc just would have been nice to know before I booked. Apart from that it was a great stay
G.
Pretty ordinary...bedding wasn't changed in the dorm room..super expensive single room on level 3..about 1000 degrees and the aircon is operated by the front desk no control...Pretty crummy
Great staff...management problem
A.
What an epic place to stay! 5/5 for friendliness, service, amenities and the hot showers 😍 shot out to Eoin and Christian for their generosity in allowing me to leave my gear while I went for a run ❤️
B.
My first time in a backpackers, met some pretty cool people. Nice as staff. Maybe a brief introduction when we arrived for how things are run (ie. the kitchen and what we do with the sheets and stuff) would have been beneficial, but i guess we figured it out soon enough
A.
Super load in the evening. Kitchen was rather dirty and overcrowded. Wifi was only available in the common area by the entrance. Hostel claimed to be dry (no alcohol) but all young people were drinking in the rooms.
M.
Jake was amazing! Super friendly and He recommended for us book the canyon swing and it was the best decision we’ve ever made!
Thanks Jake!
V.
Friendly staff at the reception. We arrived with a couple of people, but were all put in different rooms. Ronja re-arranged things for us so we could stay in the same room together.
I.
I had such a great time playing frisbee golf with Queen Jenica and James today, we got second and our prize was free entry to the ice bar! Nomads is so fun and I’ll definitely be back
n.
I was down on business and was really impress with the high standard of room I had and the great staff at the reception. Only had two nights but had a great experience in that time also awesome being central. Thanks to the team at Nomads
Z.
Great place. Private rooms were really good. Only issue was if you were planning an early night the noise from the pubs at the windows is rather disturbing.
F.
Quality hostel: friendly staff and clean rooms.
Big shout to Eoin who puts blood, sweat and tears into making this such a special utopian.
D.
Great hostel and great staff. Danny and Ellie looked after me really well at reception, even during a very busy period. Cheers guys
B.
The staff were attentive and the rooms were nice but my food got stolen and the room I was in the heater was broken. So it was super cold. It is a place to stay for young backpackers, not travelers.
T.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. It is definitely a party town/hostel. So if you are looking for a quiet place, don't go here.
M.
Excellent hostel. Great location in the heart of town and wonderful atmosphere. Stayed in a private room and was surprised by the level of comfort. Highly recommend
J.
The staff is amazing. They're so helpful and friendly. Especially Holly Batten, she helped us planning the hole trip for Australia. Thank you so much!!
M.
Best place to stay in Queenstown. The rooms are great and the place is well kept. Staffs are super friendly. And they have alot of activities that you can sign up for over there.
s.
Jeanica ran into my room screening we are playing freebiegolf in 30 mins. The game 10 of 10, the people 10 of 10. The after drinks 10 of 10. Loved it. Will always return.
J.
Very clean hostel and great staff, especially the two German girls who work there are very friendly and helpful. Ellie from reception was very informative and helpful too.
R.
Great hostel, great staff, especially Ellie at reception she was super helpful and nothing was a hassle!!
Clean, probably the best nomads we’ve stayed in!
K.
It was clean with a really cozy common area (comfortable sofas and a fireplace), free breakfast was also nice. I personally prefer smaller hostels , but this one was all right.
김.
Very good place! I always stay in here when I visit queenstown. And staff are very nice! You must stay here.
H.
I loved staying at nomads, such a good vibe ! The staff were extremely helpful especially Ronja who was very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay ! Would definitely recommend nomads to anyone ! :)
슈.
The most comfortable accommodation in Queenstown. The staff very kind!
Especially Laurea & Shannyn so good!
J.
Ellie was easily the nicest nomans hostel staff worker I’ve EVER met! But she wouldn’t share her chocolate... tight!
T.
Service was average, not very helpful at the front desk. Bedrooms were good sized but beds really uncomfortable.
C.
An amazing place to stay, definitely recommend coming for one night or even a week. Amazing staff especially Jake and Ellie at reception were outstanding
j.
Stayed in a private room with ensuite, Hotel quality services with the social aspects of staying at a hostel. Great value for money right in the middle of Queenstown, would definitely stay again.
F.
Awesome staff and facilities, literally the only drawback on Nomads is the no-alcohol policy - it makes sense and most hostels do the same but it's still kinda lame!
Great holiday will be back in future for sure!
B.
Nomads, the best hostel to stay in by far in Qt. Ellie on reception is amazing! Always a big friendly smile on her face
L.
I had a great stay in nomads. Very clean, friendly staff and especially Ellie was the best at reception, she made me feel like home :)
k.
Staffs were kind. Location is axcellent. The only problem was there are noisy club near Nomad which opens till late night but they give us ear plug so I could sleep well.
K.

H.
Absolutely loved staying here. The location was excellent and the staff were so helpful- looking at you Jake... enjoy your dinner!
J.
Stayed in a queen sized room. Great location, services, facilities and atmosphere. Definitely recommended to anyone looking for accommodation in Queenstown. Will visit again (hopefully sooner than later). Thanks!
D.
Very nice hostel. My stay was even better because of lovely Ellie at reception who was always very funny and helpful
A.
Came to Nomads for the adrenaline and crazy activities. I stayed with Nomads Hostel! Jake on Reception was super friendly, recommended hanging out with him in the hostel
A.
I loved it ,loved my time in queenstown ,highly recommended stay, Ideal for anyone ,especially young solo travellers who like to meet new people, great price and so the customer service by staff will come back again some day .Thank you Nomad backpacker><
M.
Big as hostel, had some mates doing WFA They seemed to enjoy it. Quite a new hostel, one of the best Nomads ive stayed at. Has a bit of Hotel feel to it.
D.
Great stuff and amenities. It is a 'party' hostel with not many backpackers. Still worth the price and week recommended
C.
Amazing staff. Very clean facilities. Comfy beds. And Chris has the most gorgeous blue eyes.
L.
It was so gosh darn excellent, we had easy going times here while getting up to tame mischief and the staff were very professional especially Ellie (she can skate) soon!
s.
great hostel in an awesome location! staff were amazing and really go above and beyond especially Sheldon at front desk!!
C.
Thanks guys! Very accomodating and you gave us an upgrade. What can you say about that? Only good things right. See you again soon! We are playing The World Bar on Saturday 2nd July. Pop across! :)
T.
Currently enjoying a discounted rate here at NOMADS, courtesy of Jack stationed at the front desk. I'll be sure to buy this man a drink. Everybody go see Jack if you want a discount.
D.
Really good hostel, possibly the nicest one facilities-wise I have stayed in. Ellie in reception was super helpful definitley helped make our stay easier
L.
What can i say.. Danny is a legend! Knows his stuff when it comes to activities in Queenstown.. convinced me to do a bungy jump and it turned out to be the best decision of my life!
A.
Been staying at nomads long term now, comfortable, clean and the best staff! Ellie in particular has been great and so helpfully!! Thank you nomads!!!
J.
Nice, clean rooms. Small and many of them lack windows. Nomads is extremely busy and full of young travelers. The staff can be a little difficult to get information.
L.
I've used this hostel a lot! It's really clean and the staff is kind!
Lawrea&Shannuny🥰
e.
Great hostel with really friendly staff, especially Chris on reception who helped me a lot throughout my stay!
J.
Happy: clean beds, can't open windows, rooms have a/c tho, free "breakfast & dinner" (well, could be bigger portions, still good as it's free), veryvery nice showers (hot water, good pressure)
Can recommend
D.
Good accommodation with free breakfasts and dinner but unfortunately still haven't figured out that internet access is pretty much a human right these days...
Still, they've won awards and i didn't find any bodies under my bed so it's all good.
J.
No complaints. Had an awesome view of the mountains, private bathroom and a TV that played movies which is nice to come back to after a day of exploring.
B.
Our stay were wonderful! By far the best hostel I’ve stayed at so far, and Eoin was super helpful.
J.
Clean facilities. Great location. Good value. Helpful staff. Thankfully one of the few places still with physical computers for those who like to leave the 'appliances' at home!
E.
i would like to thank danny at nomads for going above and beyond to make my stay a special and unforgettable experience. he was fantastic at helping me with accommodation and all trips.
T.
Had an awesome time here at nomads. Thanks to Ronja my stay was so easy going! Only stayed for one week but I think I’ll have to come back and book a longer stay! Thanks so much for your help Ronja!!
L.
Lover nomads hostel. Jake is the best on reception, he should get a hoodie he looks cold. Ellie is pretty good at reception to!
Y.
The place was nice and clean and they have really good facilities. Very convenient and close to town as well. Overall a good place to stay!
L.
A great place to stay for a short time! It's close to all the bars and action Queensown has to offer. Its got a great vibe for party in the evening and chill during the day.
J.
What do you expect, it's cheap.
Unless you just want to party all night, get drunk and fall asleep on a couch in a grubby lounge, consider investing more money in your accommodation
h.
Feel like they are doing you a favor they provide service. They have a speaker at the hostel they use announcements (feels like Airport), relatively comfortable rooms.
b.
Great location, clean room, friendly people and staff, Ellie was great at reception and knew so much about queebston. Will deffo stay again.
A.
Very clean and welcoming hostel. Ellie at the reception was amazing! Would highly recommend!
L.
Great location, and great service from Jack, who helped with all my travel and business needs. Will definitely stay again .
Y.
Queenstown was very crowded and I was very pleased that Nomads had space available for me.....
The free dinner was such a big bonus and a good chance to meet people and socialise....
I also like the pool table...
The staff were helpful and even lent us some rope which we used to tie a back pack to the roof of the car on out trip down to fiordland..and returned a few days later....
This is a wonderful hostel and I would only ever stay there when I return to queens town...
V.
Pros
- Clean rooms with ensuite bathroom
Cons
- Very noisy with loud music continuing well into the night, making it difficult to sleep.
- "Free breakfast" consisted of only bread
- Lack of free wifi
E.
Well located, front office 24hrs for any inquires. Kitchen very good! With many equipment for use and always tidy and clean
C.
Nomads is a great hostel!! Ellie at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming she made our stay here very comfortable!
T.
Rooms were fine, gents bathroom was in good condition, kitchen was far too small to cater to the number of guests.
I.
Best hostel I stayed. Warm room nice shower. Helpful staff.
R.
The great vibes and hospitality of crew members - Eion (hope that Im pronouncing it right), Jack and Sheldon were just beautiful, simple and amazing.!!!

G.
Great hostel! Turner, working at the front desk, was especially friendly and welcoming while still remaining very professional.
J.
Large hostel, new and clean. Free lobby wifi was only on certain hours, which I didn't find out until I tried to use it after the cut off time.
S.
Danny was really helpful, he changed the dorms and made sure everyone in our group could stay together, number 1 receptionist in Queenstown 👍

M.
5 stars for cleanliness
Not a social hostel
Very professional hostel more like hotel with dorms and shared amenities
Close to lake
M.
Jake was super helpful with booking our snowboarding trip to Cardrona. Enjoy your dinner mate!
E.
Just like every other Nomads, nothing special! very generic! Better off going to one of the small hostels in town they are alot more fun and quirky!
J.
Ellie on reception helped me out big time! Next time your lost and drunk in Queenstown come and find her she will be able to sort you out!
S.
Great facilities, clean and great atmosphere. better for large groups, is more of a party hostel and staff are pretty obnoxious.
l.
Amazing hostel. Jake is the man on reception, greatest hostel and the best staff! Give the man a pay rise
A.
Ultimate hostel 10/10 everything! Bit sad about the dry hostel rule but you can't have everything these days baha sickest hostel ever stayed in for sure!
J.
Perfect hostel, great staff Ellie on reception was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend to everyone 😉
M.
Great atmosphere, free breakfest, free dinner, amazing staff and perfect location.
I would add individual power outlets to every bed, though.
A.
Great hostel I have been back multiple times! Jake on reception hooked me up with a free upgrade!

Was alright, nothing spectacular. Just your usual large chain hostel. Might be nosy at night with all the bars near by depending on your room
A.
Loved the hostel, Ellie sorted me out with a great room and was always able to extend me.
D.
Apart from the 20 min wait at reservations, only because a bus had just arrived, our 4 bed dorm was absolutely perfect.
G.
Great location, great facilities friendly people!
