J.It's a fine hotel if you're not too fussed about the details, perhaps going walking and want somewhere cheap but comfy to crash.
Good price but quite average. Some of the staff don't seem to care about how pleasant your stay was. They didn't ask when we checked-out.
The reception area is beautiful, and so are the views from the rooms/balconies. Found it confusing that they're adding another block of rooms but the 10th floor corridor is left dingy-looking. By the way, the escalator will close on you, don't try to stop it.
It was a big room with a nice view and a TV in view of the bed, wardrobe and draws, small kitchen top with kettle, crockery and toaster. The bed was comfy and bathroom looked nice.
However, the walls are paper thin, so we could hear everyone waiting for the elevator. The room itself is quite dark and could be better lit. The shower door clunked and the pipes would bang when you turned the tap off. They don't provide conditioner and there was only one bin in the bathroom. The only tea they had in the room was peppermint, and only 1 type of coffee, no milk. They hadn't swept the balcony and there weren't any outdoor chairs.
s.Comfortable stay and was great to get free membership to score additional discounts at time of booking. Parking is underground and rather tight, really tests your skills if you have long car or big SUV. Slight disappointment that room was not serviced due on 2nd Jan. Restaurant had good views across Lake whakatipu but not any vegetarian options, so we skipped.
S.Staff were fantastic with smile and able to solve any issues. The units are a bit tired, carpet worn and the shower is over a bath for one bedroom apartments.

- the TV channels were not great, however we were hardly in there so wasn’t a major for us. Also didn’t appear to be a breakfast facility on site....(Novatal-spelling, buffet was great though)

A.Had an amazing stay here. We were so lucky to have such an amazing view to come back to each day! We were on the 9th floor which made the view even better. It exceeded any expectations we had . Very comfortable bed, everything in the room so clean and modern! Also very spacious. A huge bonus was the parking on site . We would definitely come back and have recommended to others! A.We were quite disappointed with the hospitality here.
When we arrived we were not greeted with the hospitality we expected here.
The receptionist was un welcoming and had a problem for every part of our check in.
We requested a cot and were treated as though we had asked the world.
We are staying for 4 nights with two small children who cause a mess. On night one, one child spilt popcorn on the floor. We looked for a brush and shovel or vacuum to no avail, we called reception and again were met with the same unwillingness to help told that there was a brush and shovel here and there wasn't. We called back and asked for help with the mess and 20 minutes later were bought a brush and shovel. We needed a vacuum cleaner.
Our room needs vacuumed as the children are very quick to make mess. We called to have our room cleaned and they said they would be right up at 10am they didn't come until after 5pm.
Also when making dinner we were disappointed with the utensils, old decrepit and 90% of utensils were unwashed, had fat and food and extremely lack Lustre. One cupboard door is broken.
We expected more.
o.It was pretty good, nice views good size rooms. The only problem is our room started leaking after a shower of rain and some of our stuff got wet, they did change us to another room tho
L.We had a lovely 2 bedroom unit. Very spacious unit with everything you need. A beautiful view from our balcony overlooking Lake Wakatipu. Easy walk in to town along the lake front. They are upgrading at the moment and some noise from builders but would still definitely recommend Oaks Queenstown Shores 🥰
A.Pretty decent place, quite spacious with stunning lake view. But the room is a bit old, the shower gel and the shampoo smells the same, both smells like dish liquid.

k.Its a nice hotel and the staffs were kind. The only downside we experienced was that our room was on level 10 and we need to climb 1 flight of stairs before we can use the lift which was inconvenient for us because our luggage was heavy..
M.Great room. Great view. Scenery was fantastic. Our room was much more than what we expected. However, shower floods because the slope of the shower floor doesn’t drain the water towards the plug. Our room did have a bit of road noise but not too much to stop you from sleeping. Gym facilities were minimal so don’t expect much in that area. Overall would definitely stay again.
S.Great, loft didn't have an oven or washing machine etc which were a major requirement for us given we had everything to cook a roast with, we were able to change to apartment that had these even though not such a good view, which we had been advised of..Would stay again if view and oven etc. View from the loft was breathtaking

We stayed 4 days in an apartment that has an amazing view from Queenstown lake. If you're looking for a perfect view from your room/balcony this is the place. The apartment is huge.
If I could ask for an improvement id ask to have Netflix or some streaming app in the tvs.

B.Had a poor experience from the start. Arrived at 230 with checkin time being 2 so room should have been ready. Was told room still an hour away. Offered a soft drink for the wait. The room is average condition. View blocked by a huge scaffold from contruction. Dirty utensils in the drawer. Shower pressure very poor and not operating properly. Fan doesnt work in the bathroom. Place has a tiny wall heater for a 2 bed apartment. Overall pretty average for the price.
G.Awesome view for balcony. Setup was well kitted out and worked a treat for what we needed. Just needs tidying up, marks on walls, can see wires hanging out or something, oven door had gaps or lost its seal, general maintenance needed. One thing i say is don't put your customers in the rooms next to the construction work....we asked why they did and as they knew we wouldn't liked it (So why put us in it???)
S.Amazing view from the room and this was my fourth visit. But do check if the construction has stopped before you visit and this may reduce your heartburn :). However, full marks to the staff and beautiful view from the room makes your stay worthwhile.

S.Lovely place but more like a seviced apartment than a hotel. A bit of construction going on right now but the views made up for it. Kitchen was really well equipped and a short 20 min walk to town. They had a shuttle bus going every hour except for during the middle of the day.

R.Great room and location. Views are fantastic I would have given a five star but works being carried out on either side were noisey plus it was hard to access the walking track. Make sure you book level three or above for unobstructed views. Room was very clean with good cooking facility.
J.This place was nice, the shuttle service to town was good, restaurant was wonderful, but some of our experience wasn't the greatest unfortunately - Trying to find a park some days were just impossible with cars parked all over the place. Our room was right next to the new rooms they are building and construction started too early for guests - 7:30ish ... But other than that, it wasn't too bad - oh and the view was nice!
T.The room was serviced everyday and the some of the staffs would go the extra mile. If you are looking for decent place to sleep then this is a good place for you. We were directed to a room which is on the far end and the view was lovely if not only for the huge pipe spoiling it. Also, the balcony was closed and there's no microwave which was also owner.

R.Nice rooms, well equipped, good linen, the good, standard American breakfast. See that you get a lake view room, mine was in a corner over looking a godown, so no view. The hotel is built on a slope so every block is at a different level, though all connected by changing lifts on some floors and negotiating some steps. Not really conducive for lugging heavy baggage. We didnt get porter service though there were mostly senior citizens in our group. Understood from the reception that this has to be booked in advance.
A.Stayed from Oct 12-16, 2020 to explore Queenstown. An okay hotel, dated and gloomy interior. 30-45 min walk to the town, very complicated access to the lake walk. The lake is gorgeous, got a partial lake view room which was the only good thing about the stay.
S.The view was sublime as it had the backdrop of a beautiful mountain range. Being beside a lake, it did feel a little colder so having the balcony door open can be an issue at times for those who struggle with the cold. Parking was quite difficult as there were no set spots for your room and the underground parking is so narrow that a three-point turn becomes a fifteen-point turn. The rooms were very spacious and nicely furbished. Overall a good experience but I would recommend checking nearby accommodation and compare it. This was my first time in Queenstown so I didn't know any better when I booked.
A.This hotel is very nice. We came in on an unusually cold November. The beds are heatedv which is really nice. Also, the food at the restaurant is quite good. The best part of the hotel is that it is located right above the walking track for the water. With just one stair case you get an incredible view. It more than made up for us not purchasing a room with a view.
b.Very quite, rooms are very sound proof, easily accessible from the car park and staff were very accommodating. The room we were in (107) was set up brilliantly, will definitely be back.

H.We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were quiet and private. The staff are friendly and so helpful. Lovely bar and restaurant staff. The food is amazing at the restaurant. We could not get enough!! Special thanks to Danielle at reception who went over and above assisting me with my husband as he was in a wheelchair. My hubby able to walk small distances but downside is place not wheelchair friendly.
L.Excellent lakeside apartments right now to Queenstown and only ten minutes drive from all the shopping centres in Frankton. Fully furnished with all expected amenities including a full size kitchen, en suite, lounge, and laundry.
The balconies have amazing views, the fireplace is awesome, and although the insides are a little dated, the rooms are serviced daily.
First went to Oaks Shores ten years ago, and having tried many other hotels, apartments, holiday rentals and Airbnb's around the area in the last ten years, I have to say I'm glad we went back as it was a good quality residence at a fraction of the price (when booked directly with the hotel).
s.The location is good near waitipu lake and you can access the frankton track from the back of hotel. Food is good but the layout of the hotel is confusing. The staff is very helpful and the shuttle service to the CBD is efficient. The rooms are spacious and views are scenic.
K.We got the lake view apartment with a fireplace and bath, we were so so impressed!! It was a gorgeous room and we had a truly wonderful stay. Everyone was very friendly and welcomed us with a beer on the house as it was a celebration for us. Had a really exceptional time 😁
L.The serviced apartments were amazing and had everything you need. The hotel is clean and beautifully presented. Lake views breath taking and staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing we weren't happy with was the shuttle not running between 11 and 4 but we will definitely come back.
J.We got the beautiful apartment room with lake view for six person occupancy. Very nice place. Also have shuttle bus to the city. But the worse part is when we used the kitchen for cooking for the first time after two days of our visit, we found out the housekeeping didn't clear the left over rice from the rice cooker. The rice already moldy inside the rice cooker. I think some of the housekeeping need to re-train again.
A.We had a 2 bedroom apartment. Well equipped kitchenette like your own home. Feel really at home. View was fantastic overlooking the lake and snow-capped mountains. Enjoyed staying for 4 nights.
Housekeeping could be improved especially the bathroom floor with hair and was not vacuumed for 2 days.
w.Great location next to the lake with access to the view from many different angles. Very classy and beautiful venue to boot. Range of facilities useful to me such as the guest laundry room and gym. However it feels cheap having only 30 minutes of free wifi before having to pay especially at the rate. Nevertheless if you're looking to splurge on a great holiday I would recommend oaks shores.

S.Everything was good about this place. Very neat and clean. Beautiful view from our balcony but no tea coffee sachet in the room, the only minus point in room number 306 we checked in. A request to the owner to properly fill the tea coffee rack. Parking is first come first serve.

Only issue was customer service. They are clearly understaff which is no fault of the staff. They are all great but the annoying thing is they don't do room service and if you want anything you need to book ahead (massages etc). Would stay again, as long as you are on the water, you are all good.
B.Comfortable, few things where disappointing room had a strange odor that needed airing to get rid of. Several neighboring units where smoking on their balconies which spoiled our experience. Site also undergoing construction works we had a room which had construction elevator right outside our windows which limited our privacy.
G.Booked via airline with a reasonable price. Rooms are clean and great to have a walk beside the lake. Shower doors are not well designed, take extra care when using them. Rooms are in the forms of 'room number' or 'room number + a', same room numbers are technical one big room, but separated by a locked door. When pulling out from the drive onto the road, usually it is not easy turning right toward the airport, always good to turn left into town. Overall, not a bad place to stay.
P.Nice room overlooking the lake. Was clean and had everything we expected to find. There were small areas of damage to the ceiling where water from the balcony above had found its way in and we had a couple of drips come through when it rained but nothing drastic. Car park gets full quite quickly so get your park early and use the courtesy shuttle bus to get into town. Will stay here again if ever in Queenstown.
M.Rooms, restaurant and food are good. Service standards are absolutely unacceptable. Rooms not properly cleaned or linen changed for the three nights that we stayed.
Access to the room is a nightmare with a long walk, two rides in lifts, climbing stairs and craziest of all a walk through an underground car park just to reach your room and to get to the public areas. And to top it all off, there is no porter service even by payment.
f.The view from the lobby to Lake Wakatipu is amazing. The staff was extremely accommodating, especially Becks. She offered up many tour options when our prearranged tour went awry. Went out of her way to drop us of at Arrowtown in her personal car even though we could've taken a taxi. Kudos to her!
The resort was undergoing renovations, so scaffolding was ever present, but it wasn't disruptive. The layout of the floorplan needs a better flow, more and better signage should help.
There's a gap in the timetable from 11am to 4 pm for the shuttle going to the CBD, but you can do the 30 min walk to the city center, or 5 min via Uber.

T.Nice and quiet location next to a small lake. Room is clean. Bathroom is big with a jacuzzi style bath. Ample parking space. Nice balcony. Much better option than staying in central Wanaka, which is only a short drive away. The restaurant/bar on the same complex also has surprising good food!
T.The lake view is definitely on the point and the front desk staff were also friendly and accommodating. The biggest let down was the housekeeping service, which literally did nothing but made the bed only. There is no aircon in the room, which made our stay in spring/summer time a bit uncomfy.

L.This place is situated near the heart of Queenstowns centre and along the water front, so you have a beautiful view and it’s convenient to the township (walking distance 15 mins). The reception team were not welcoming. The waiter and waitress from the restaurant were superb, the food was good. The building itself is old which I like, however, the room I was in, needed a face lift. Unfortunately it had that old smell to it. I asked to change rooms and then was told it would cost me roughly $375 extra for one night.
J.We stayed in 1004 stunning view of the lake and very spacious room with a nice fire place. The beds were comfy and did manage to get a good night sleep. However for the size of the room please be advice the washroom and shower was very disappointing as bathroom was very small and no ventilator which was very annoying. They had 1 towel instead of 2 towels after housekeeping did our room, called the reception and was told "So do u need another towel?" Well if 2 people were staying, wouldn't be common sense for 2 towels? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Apart from that issue please do not bother with having breakfast included as it's an utter disappointment as stayed 2 nights both days same breakkie soggy sausage, hash brown, baked beans, tomato based sauce thing, small dried up spring rolls and some weird yellow veggie fried and overcooked scrambled eggs. There is a coffee machine only has coffee and hot water, all other options were not functional.
D.The views are amazing! Rooms are clean, spacious and complete with everything you need for your stay. It is relatively close to major destinations and the parking is free, albeit limited.

C.Place is very handy with a location in between town centre and the airport and only about 5 minutes away from them by car. Beautiful view out on the balcony by the lakeside. The only downside is the noise if your room is on the 10th floor and above as it’s close off the street
J.Stayed at hotel for honeymoon .staff are very helpful and welcoming.even provide advice.rooms lacked mini bar and on demand tv which is disappointing but other room features and finishings were excellent. The service at the restaurant and bar was great with the stunning lakeside views.when a bus of tourist arrived at the reception there was very little separating the noise of 20 Asian guest entering the restaurant. You could see the guest standing around being very loud which was very distracting whilst eating dinner.
I.From airport to Oaks shores via taxi is $38NZD. No uber right outside the airport, you have to walk soo far to grab one or the cheapest is bus but with all the luggage we have it's not an option. As a Filipino with a Thai partner and our son, going inside the hotel we're not expecting to be welcomed so much. But we feel belittled by the receptionists who didn't even smiled when we arrived. Pointing to the map/paper where is our room located, we have to struggle just to find it. After a car park you have to go down again in another car park. No staff around to help us. When we finally saw where our room is, this receptionist showed up with this face like "wth" STILL didn't help us with anything. Prior to opening the door there's the housekeeping still doing the single bed with no greet at all. It took them for like 20mins to do the extra single bed. As we are a family of 3, it is disappointing that they're keep on giving us only 2 towels. For our 5 days stay, never they change our bed linen. Not common for a 4 star hotel.
On the other hand, The lake view was superb! Waking up with that is just a total awesomeness. Our room is spacious. Took us 1hr to walk all the way to the main city. $18NZD for a taxi to go there (approx 10mins). They have shuttle anyway but stops to drop guests at 12pm you have to wait till 4pm for the next ride. Or yeah a choice of 1hr walking or $18NZD taxi.
Overall experience in Queenstown is a 5 Star. Overall experience in this hotel is a 3 star.
N.Stunning view and quiet location made staying here brilliant. My only (very) small gripe was that we struck a brilliant warm weekend there and we couldn't for the life of us find how to turn the underfloor heating in the lounge off!

A.The rooms are nice, and the views are incredible. I would stay here again if it wasn't for one thing: the ridiculously bad wifi situation. They limit you to 30 minutes free access per day and it's pretty slow. Every half hour over that is $5.

S.Stunning view but air conditioning not working and it was intolerably hot, with their only solution a small fan that was the last thing they had (had only 3 legs too). Waste disposal in sink was broken and drain was regurgitating refuse, though to their credit they fixed it within a day. No room service (you have to pick up food from diner), though one of the staff did kindly deliver food. Couldn't accommodate concierge requests like getting a flower vase or ordering flowers and chocolate ahead of time. Would have given them at least 3.5 stars if I could.

T.The hotel does provides free shuttle but not very frequent during the day and need to book in advance. Note: servicing is provided on daily basis but we found lots of items missing everyday. The suite has a big fire place and was very warm and dry during the night.

M.Booked into this hotel last minute when my flight was cancelled. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately first room we were given had a faulty lock, was moved to a larger room instead which was lovely. However matteress and pillows were hard and stiff; struggled to get more than a couple of hours sleep.

S.It is fair to say that Oaks Shores Resort is one of the best in Queenstown, New Zealand. From our views of the CBD, they surpass other neighbouring hotels like Novotel, Crowne Plaza, QT, Mercure and more. The room was outstanding! Facilities in the room were excellent, equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, 2 OLED TVs, a living area, dining table, a luxurious marble bathroom and most of all the VIEW!! Guaranteed the Oaks Shores gets the best views of Queenstown’s mountainous terrain than any other hotel. However, this hotel has one major setback, their service. We felt that the level of service at the hotel was very inconsistent, and could not even parallel the outstanding standards shown with the room, location, hotel facilities and more. Overall, I had a very rejuvenating and enjoyable stay at the Oaks Shores.
K.Fairly ok. A little claustrophobic in the courtyard view rooms which don't have any windows on 3 sides . The front door and side windows next to those doors, is all! Staff are friendly and helpful though.
T.We found Oaks Shores online and the position looked great. The property is a good walk from town and because inclimate weather was forecast we booked a car. Free car park under the apartments made it easy to get luggage to and from the car A potty because it could be terrific.

M.(Translated) First of all, I have to say that we were really lucky. On arrival the normal rooms were overbooked and we were upgraded. So we suddenly had a suite with about 100 square meters (larger than my apartment 😳), the madness, kitchen, separate bedroom, dining area, fireplace, a huge terrace with a gigantic view. The normal rooms have a much worse view, as the between the suites are set back and thus the view is limited, of course, smaller and with only a window. Except for a few small things (a remote control broken, a flickering lamp, damaged Tischfunier) everything was great, so would complain about a very high level. Through the kitchen you can make on own supply, which clearly pushes the costs. Dishwasher is also there, for washing-up Lazy 😉. I just hang pictures, then you can make yourself a picture, but my recommendation is if it is money in any case to take a suite worth it.

Zuerst einmal muss ich sagen, dass wir richtig Glück hatten. Bei Ankunft waren die normalen Zimmer überbucht und wir bekamen ein Upgrade. So hatten wir plötzlich eine Suite mit ca. 100 qm (größer als meine Wohnung 😳), der Wahnsinn, Küche, separates Schlafzimmer, Essbereich, Kamin, eine riesen Terrasse mit gigantischer Aussicht. Die normalen Zimmer haben eine deutlich schlechtere Aussicht, da die zwischen den Suiten zurück gesetzt sind und dadurch der Blick eingeschränkt wird, außerdem natürlich kleiner und mit nur einem Fenster. Bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten (eine Fernbedienung defekt, eine flackernde Lampe, beschädigtes Tischfunier) war alles top, wäre also meckern auf sehr hohem Niveau. Durch die Küche kann man auf Eigenversorgung machen, was die Kosten deutlich drückt. Geschirrspüler ist auch da, für Abwasch-Faule 😉. Ich hänge einfach mal Bilder an, dann könnt ihr euch selbst ein Bild machen, aber meine Empfehlung ist wenn es geldmäßig drin ist auf jeden Fall eine Suite zu nehmen, lohnt sich.
