Excellent hotel with really professional front desk staffs and also superb service mind. Million dollars scenic from the window. Hotel is standing between airport and town. So handy!!
By the way. We got something just need them to improve but can't complain to anything. Love this place so far :)

This hotel is a little higher in price, but every penny is worth it. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable with a 3-seater sofa, TV, balcony and bath. We had a party in there after our friends' wedding.
Reception is beautiful too. The staff are so pleasant and completely customer oriented. If they don't have grapes and you specifically want grapes, the chef will go out and buy them for you. Jimmy is also a star at moving your bags for you.
It is a bit tricky to let people in your room though, just because there's 2 card-lock doors, so if you don't take your key or partner to the door, you have to try and open the outer one before the other shuts. That's my only criticism.
Best hotel we've ever stayed in. Watch out for Sebastian in town at night!

just beautiful! had a wonderful time!! rooms so spacious and had a gorgeous view of the lake; although at times I could hear my neighbours. nonetheless had a relaxing time w my partner!! FREE PARKING!! the $35 bill for water bottles was a bit of a surprise

Perfect luxury accomodation for a romantic New Year’s trip with my partner. The views from the executive suite with lakeside balcony were truly breathtaking to see every morning. Hotel staff were incredibly helpful, attentive & friendly, complimentary hotel shuttle was very useful. 100% will return again in the future. Our stay at The Rees Hotel was a relaxing, romantic & blissful getaway from our busy lives. Highly recommend! :)

It's been a long time I and my wife stayed at Rees for our 1st honeymoon. The room was beautiful and big. The view outside of our room was breathtaking. Customer services and the front desk were very good, they made us feel at home.
Looking forward to visit in future

Such a gorgeous property - very comfortable and quiet - staff were fabulous. Everything was on point and we quickly felt valued and appreciated even though this was our first stay. Every staff member we came in contact with had a warm genuine smile and was ever so welcoming and professional without being snooty - perfect! We shall be back!

This is my second time staying at The Rees. It was an easy decision to return after the first time! My wife and I first stayed at The Rees for our honeymoon during winter and we loved our stay so much that we have referred friends and family since then. We came back this summer for a family holiday to celebrate my in-laws 60th Birthdays and loved it just as much as the first time. When asked the question, why do you love staying at The Rees? Multiple things come to mind. The people who work at the hotel are warm, engaging, knowledgeable and attentive. They are happy to go out of their way to make your stay special. The location is quiet with amazing views, lake front walks and a wharf to jump off in to the lake. There's a free shuttle that leaves from the hotel to town every hour which is great if you want to travel in to town for dinner or any of the numerous activities Queenstown has to offer. The Southern Dining restaurant at the hotel is amazing and has an extensive range of wine and other beverages. Last but not least, the accommodation is very tidy with room/ apparentment sizes to suit individuals, couples, large families and everything in between. I highly recommend this place and I'll be staying there again sometime soon.

Stayed here for 4 nights and just returned. Amazing view from our room! The best customer service from ever single staff member we came into contact with. The breakfast is great, room was comfy and clean. The free shuttle into town was so handy! Would stay here again!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Rees! We had the two bedroom apartment. The apartment had a large balcony that over looked the lake and the snowy mountains. Inside there was a beautiful stone fireplace that kept you nice and toasty. The service was excellent and they really went above and beyond. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was just outstanding. The free shuttle bus was so convenient and made our stay hassle free. Thank you Rees Hotel 5/5 and we can't wait to visit again soon!

Staff were so friendly (and genuine, not forced), the rooms were stunning with all of the little extras that just make you glad of your choice. Most things are complimentary, like wifi and parking so you actually don’t spend as much as other places. Super yum food and just once again staff was amazing! I think Shane was his name (sorry) he was awesome, we will definitely be back!! Much much better than the Hilton, where we stayed our first night. Thank you Rees hotel 😊

My stay at the Rees was Absolutely Amazing!! Right from the booking of our room, the staff were so amazing! Sebastian in particular went above and beyond for me helping to sort out a surprise for my partner when we arrived! The rest of the staff were all so friendly and helpful aswell all going the extra mile with any requests I had. The room itself was beautiful and the view from our room was absolutely stunning! Will definitely be back!
Thank you Rees Staff!!

Amazing customer service, incredible views and great amenities. We had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly and helpful and it was so easy to relax with the beautiful view and comfy luxurious room.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at The Rees while taking a WSET 3 wine course being hosted on site. Mark, Fiona and the rest of the team were absolutely fantastic! The Rees knows and understands the essence of hospitality.
The view from the lobby and lounge is absolutely stunning! Yes, the Remarkables are in sight almost every corner you round, but the design of this space frames the lake and mountains so perfectly - a real WOW factor on arrival.
We stayed in a 2-bdrm Lakeview Apt, very clean, comfortable, convenient and spacious. The balcony was a nice setting for coffee in the morning, and wine by night!
Thank you to The Rees for a perfect stay,
Morgan

I’m still dreaming about my stay here! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
Stayed here back in winter 2016 with family of 4 and got us a 2BR unit. And safe to say it was our highlight of the trip. Unit was beyond expectations, the view to the lake is as breathtaking as it could get. The shuttle from and to city center is just right, and the hospitality is top notch.
P.
Well appointed apartments. Close to town. Friendly helpful staff
S.
Currently staying here now and am very impressed with the service me and my partner have received from the staff, can’t fault the place at all. I will be back for sure. Hats off to the team that have looked after us, the boss should be proud!!!
H.
An absolute delight to stay here. Staff are all friendly and polite, always willing to help. The shuttle services are especially punctual and on time. The rooms themselves are immaculate and especially cozy, with a great view out over the lake. Didn't manage to try out the food but would some other time. Fantastic hotel and fantastic people!

There is a fair amount of accommodation to choose from in Queenstown.
I chose The Rees because it had a shuttle (I didn't want the hassle of hiring a car) and the views and location looked good. I did end up using the shuttle a number of times and it was easy and quick. It would be worth noting that the buses run past the hotel regularly as well and were easy and quick to catch. You can actually catch the bus to and from the airport. The walk along the lakefront was very easy, very peaceful and very scenic. I liked the walk very much and I don't walk anywhere.
From the second I walked in I was stunned at the absolute professional service of ALL staff. I had been booked into a spa room, with a partial lake view but considering I was traveling by myself I asked for a room with a view. Lauren took the time to take me through rooms available to me. I thought this was fantastic. Throughout my stay ALL of the front of house staff were extraordinarily attentive to my needs and wants. Eg coming from Australia I'm used to a 'long black' being made into a large mug. They didn't, but when I asked they went and got large mugs from the kitchen. I personally couldn't believe the attention to detail and each and every staff member was attentive, offered assistance at all times and were very professional and friendly.
I didn't have the opportunity to dine in the restaurant as the timings didn't suit. I did have breakfast one morning which was very nice and the view from the restaurant was to die for and I actually found it to be very relaxing.
The room was fantastic. The fit out clean, tidy modern and well maintained. The bathroom was exquisite. I would've stayed in the bathroom just by itself. The floor heater was nice, the warm towels were nice and the showerhead that gave you an exfoliating aqua massage was sublime! I was having two showers a day, just to have such a wonderful shower.
I absolutely, categorically and without hesitation recommend this hotel.
O.
Such friendly and helpful staff. Shane, Arianna and Heidi are the best at making you feel at home and Shane makes the most delicious coffee. 100% recommended

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful hotel ! the view was great the location was great and they supply free shuttle bus into town or you can just get a short taxi ride if you prefer. They have car parking which is something that is hard to come by in Queenstown. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was beautiful there was plenty of space and a beautiful gas fire and a nice balcony which was very spacious . It is toddler friendly we brought our one-year-old and he had a great time running around the room they also provided us a cot.The entryway is stunning and we were able to sit there and enjoy a cocktail while the sunset before our dinner reservation. We will definitely be back again next time we visit Queenstown
R.
We booked a one bedroom apartment and had a lovely stay. The apartment was spacious, very nice balcony with a beautiful view, pretty much everything we needed ( toaster, laundry and dryer, super comfy bed ).
If you are looking for vegan food in the hotel restaurant, it's best to give them a heads up in advance. The chef made us a tasty vegan meal!
Staff was also very friendly. We will come back again : )

The Rees 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay at The Rees during our honeymoon last week and would definitely recommend them!
We were upgraded to an executive apartment for free with a stunning Lake view and we had amazing customer service during our stay. The location was perfect for us and we enjoyed the complimentary shuttle and also the free conviennent underground parking. We were blown away by the great room service too - one of the best burgers ever!
We were most impressed by the staff and the personal service we received - in particular we were most impressed by Natcha who provided incredible customer service during our daily breakfasts, she was very friendly, funny, personable and always made us feel welcome.
We will definitely be back at The Rees!
V.
Our stay at The Rees was marvelous. I travel often and can state honestly that The Rees is one of a kind. You cannot find another hotel in New Zealand with amazing views, friendly staff, and excellent food at their onsite restaurant. It is the whole package.
The room we stayed in was immaculate, with a stunning view of the lake and mountains - particularly in the morning when the sun rose. The food was excellent - there is a variety available to suit all palates. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. That, in particular, made our stay very pleasant - Thank you to all the staff that helped us during our stay there over the 4th and 5th of July.
I will definitely be coming back and look forward to staying at The Rees, which I cannot recommend enough.
J.
The view alone probably says it all, but the Rees also has the friendliest staff of any hotel or resort I've ever stayed at. Period. They all clearly enjoy working there so much, with very warm and genuine smiles every time you see them, which makes such a difference.
The food in the restaurant was amazing, the chef's desserts in particular were incredible; creme brulee perfected in the South Island of NZ, who'd have thought it. And drinks in the lobby overlooking The Remarkables made for an unforgettable experience.
I have literally nothing to fault with The Rees and will only ever stay there from now on when in Queenstown.
Thanks guys, see you again soon.
M.
Me and my hubby booked Rees for our Anniversary. The moment they knew why we were there they upgraded our room for free to a more luxurious room. They were so helpful took us the the room the view was amazing. We also had our dinner at their restaurant and enjoyed our free shuttle to town which included drop off and pick up. Checked out at 11am. Thanks Rees A+++++++. Will definitely see you again👍
T.
We stayed at the Rees for 4 nights and were very pleased with the service and accomodation. We were celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary from Auckland and want to thank the staff! The response to our needs were met with complete satisfaction. Thank you to all who served us!
A.
What can I say... this place is perfect! Welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff who really are vested in helping you have an enjoyable time. Our room was really modern, spotlessly clean and with the most amazing views. We dined at the in-house restaurant a few times and the food was excellent, along with the service. The added bonus of a shuttle into Queenstown central on the hour is so convenient as well. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat and hope to return some day.
G.
Waking up every morning to stunning views of the lake and Remarkables was phenomenal. What a place, can't fault it in any way. Exceptionally friendly attentive concierge team. Their service was impeccable so eager to help in every way. We were even offered a ride to the city and back after we've checked out
before heading to the Airport.
Thankyou for making our stay at your place so special" felt like home".
Definitely coming back next year.
S.
Amazing place to stay in! Friendly staff, the room had an amazing view on the lake. Hotel provides a free shuttle to town and back which makes it perfect as the hotel is not in The city Center (only a max. of 10 minute drive).
c.
❤️ An absolutely enjoyable experience! From the gorgeous lake view room, that was spotlessly clean and filled with gorgeous amenities to the extremely well priced hotel restaurant with delightful choices. But, the best thing about our stay was the attitude and helpfulness of ALL staff we made contact with. You have a great team and you should be really proud of the quality and level of service delivered. We will Definitely be back 🙌
M.
We love the Rees Hotel. It's the people and the service they deliver that really sets this hotel apart. We also love the luxury touches whilst maintaining a comfortable sense of informality. And we adore the restaurant and the world-class food they consistently deliver! Thanks again team! The Rees Hotel is certainly our hotel of choice in Queenstown.
i.
The view is so amazing. The luxury room. It is perfect. Lake side and lake view. We can enjoy the wakatipu lake from our window. The room is so clean an all we need is all set. We really love to stay here
S.
Our friends had recommended the Rees to us and we were not disappointed.
We found the staff very attentive and the attention to detail in our room was excellent.
We hope that when we next visit Queenstown we may be able to enjoy the Rees hospitality yet again.
Many thanks for the lovely experience.
J.
This place was just wonderful. We stayed in a 2 bedroom executive apartment with a lake view. It was very luxurious, sparkling clean- even the kitchen, dishwasher, and laundry facilities. I normally don't use these even in nice hotels, but this one was super clean. Fireplace was very handy and the outside balcony area seating was amazing with that view. Parking and wifi were great. Staff were amazing, especially Jameson. Thanks for looking after us. We were even able to request our choice of pillows, which helped us all get good sleep. Very pricey, but if you want luxury this was amazing.
M.
This hotel is fantastic! The lakeside room has an amazing view of the lake - as advertised. The staff, even before our arrival, was incredibly helpful and friendly. Their concierge had reached out to us months ago to help with booking any activities while here in Queenstown.
The hotel is about a 5-10 minute drive from downtown Queenstown, which I think is actually nice. Plus, they offer a free shuttle every hour to get you to and from downtown.
We’ve only been here one day so far, but we’re really enjoying it!
M.
A luxurious hotel with good facilities and friendly staff. I loved the view and the bathroom set up so you can see the mountain from the bathroom hot tub. Wish I could have stayed longer to get dinner or even a coffee from the lounge that had such a great view
I.
Friendly and accommodating with very nice rooms. Could not fault it at all, will definitely be staying again. The best accommodation I've ever had. Highly recommend.
S.
Amazing place with a wonderful view. It’s about a 30 minute walk to the center of town, but it’s a nice scenic walk along the water. They also have a reliable shuttle every hour, but the weather was nice so we normally walked. They were very accommodating and took all of our requests. Beautiful hotel and I’d stay here again if we come back to Queenstown.
F.
We stayed there in January in a month trip around NZ and it was for far one of the best places we stayed in the trip. Reception and staff was very friendly, smiley (we did not see that much in NZ) and always willing to help in any enquire we had. The view from the room was amazing and the food in the hotel was great. We would definitely stay again.
C.
We've got free upgrade to a fully equipped apartment where it has big kitchen, washing machine and drying machine. Large room with lake view, we've got a big balcony and living room. Very quiet and comfortable room. We had a wonderful evening dining in the restaurant where they served fine food and wines. Great service. I will recommend to my friends who is visiting Queenstown.
J.
We stayed here for our wedding, and are mostly happy with our choice. Service is impeccable, and staff really go above and beyond to make customers feel at home and welcome - we also received a complimentary bottle of bubbles with a congratulatory note on our wedding night, which was a fantastic little touch. The rooms have a lovely view, are spotlessly clean, very modern and comfortable, great choice of pillows including memory foam, good soundproofing and well-insulated (perhaps a bit too well-insulated... more on that later). The bathroom is perfect, good shower pressure, unlimited hot water, underfloor heating so it stays dry all the time. For the most part, we really enjoyed our stay and felt pampered with the luxurious amenities, gorgeous view and top-notch service.
There were only two downsides in our opinion - the first is that there is no air-conditioning at all, which is surprising considering the price range. This would normally not be a problem in the South Island, but the rooms are VERY well insulated, so any bit of heat generated is kept in. This resulted in the room getting rather uncomfortably warm at times, even in October, and we ended up sleeping with the windows open - which, while the hotel is located in a mostly quiet spot, completed negated the point of all the soundproofing.
The second is that the blinds are very thin and do not block out much light, so in the warmer months the rooms get very bright after 7am or so, making it difficult to sleep in. We had an executive 1 bedroom where the bedroom was separated from the exterior windows, but even then there were two semitransparent panels in the sliding door that let a lot of light in from the living area. It would be really great if there could be the option of blackout curtains over the blinds - people who are happy with the thin blinds can just leave the curtains open all the time, but people who want the curtains could have them.
J.
The hotel is not in the heart of Queenstown but is situated on the lake. The location isn't much of an issue as there was a free shuttle every hour into the mall and back again, and the view was probably much better where it is. On numerous occasions when the shuttle was full the staff ran an extra shuttle, which is about a four minute ride. The views are lovely, as are the rooms. The staff are very friendly, helpful and courteous, particularly Lucas, Chris and Sebastian. True South, their restaurant is also worth visiting.
C.
This hotel was exceptional in location, staff, food, hospitality and views. I was beyond impressed by everything. The rooms were meticulous and spacious. Brand new amenities and appliances. Heated floors in the bathroom. The only down side was no pool. Property is located on the lake and a trail, along with the new ferry are steps away. Perfect for couples, solo or family travel. This solo well travelled consultant highly recommends. You won't be disappointed.
S.
Still here at the Rees now. Would have been a near perfect experience if it wasn't for the car parking issue. I was suprised to find out that it's first in, first serve. You'd think that the amount you pay per night would guarantee you an allocated parking space - it's a normality elsewhere. So alas last night we arrived home to a parking shenanigan and about 15 minutes of trying different levels and squeezing around other confused guests we were directed to follow a member of staff to a side road across from the rees and up a hill. Fast forward to a very unimpressed, 5- minute walk in the rain to the car this morning. As it was NYE, I assume there were a number of guests sharing one suite but with multiple vehicles. Allocated parking spaces (usually one car per suite) would solve this issue next time and make longer-term guests feel a bit more valued.
C.
We had 4 nights here and is one of the best places we have stayed in on our travels. The room was excellent, bed and pillows so comfortable. The views from our Lake Room were spectacular.
The staff couldn't be more helpful, even the girls who did the rooms all had big smiles every time we saw them.
Friendly, helpful, welcoming, simply superb.
The views alone make you speechless.
We were surprised that there was no air conditioning only heating but then with the balcony door wide open we could get the fresh air all night and the cool breeze if need be.
This is a place we highly recommend ..great coffee and toast at breakfast and relaxing atmosphere in the reception area in the afternoons...the free WiFi was spot on and plenty of roomy parking underneath.
Accolades to all the staff!!

What a nice place!!
We went to Queenstown for a family trip. The Rees apartment was very comfortable. We booked two bedroom apartment. It has a nice view of lake and mountains. We could just hang out here the whole day relaxing if we wanted to. Well-equipped such as laundry machine and dryer, oven, toaster, refrigerator, stove, etc. Actually, you could live here. It's about 3 km from downtown though. The restaurant here had good food. We had dinner here two days in a row. The staff at the restaurant were nice and friendly. It's quite contrast to the staff at the front counter. They were not friendly and not helpful at all. However, we still thought that the apartment here was awesome.
l.
Lovely spacious apartment and nothing was ever any trouble for the staff. They were all friendly, efficient and helpful. We loved staying here.
M.
We just went for lunch with some friends. Staff was amazing and the view stunning. We missed our ferry back so they offered to shuttle us back to the city, kudos to you guys, particularly Lauren (I think that was her name) who was amazing.
D.
This Rees will not leave you disappointed in any way.
The hotel has a combination of beautiful mountain and lakeside views.
Our apartment was very clean with great kitchen and bathroom amenities. We had a gorgeous gas Fireplace heater and a large balcony to take in the scenery.
The staff are extremely accommodating, friendly and always go the extra mile.
Excellent service and wonderful experience.
Thank you for making our honeymoon everything we wished for and more.
We will be back to stay with The Rees again!
A.
Beautiful apartment hotel with a stunning lake view. The staff were extremely friendly and the place was kept same with a blazing fire
J.
Check in was fast and staff were friendly and helpful. The stay has been nothing but excellent as the room is spacious, comfy bed with a breathtaking view of the remarkables mountain range. It's the view from our bed that's makes waking up each morning more cheerful.
The car park is ample and good since we rented a highlander was worried for parking size but no issue at all.
The lil details such as turn down service with house keeping providing lil chocolate on the bedding each night makes one smile with happiness too. Sadly we check out tomorrow but will surely look forward to coming here again 💕
T.
Five star all the way from checking in to checking out and everything in between. The staff were incredible, a very warm welcome and so very helpful. The restaurant is fantastic, and the wine list the best in the South Island I am sure. Awesome views, and handy to town, The Rees is a beautiful experience, I will be back!
J.
Just back from a 5 night stay. We have stayed at some pretty incredible venues worldwide and The Rees is right up there with the best in terms of facilities....luxurious, ultra clean, fully equipped, views to die for. But where the Rees really leaps to the fore is the beautiful and welcoming staff. A special thanks to Leanne for the warm welcome and ongoing assistance, to Roman...never got to thank you for the birthday surprise, and Austin for The local advice and fun trips to town. We loved out apartment with the heated floors, equipped kitchen, fireplace and the views. Housekeeping is outstanding, we never had to wait for room make up, and the room was so clean. Thank you The Rees, can’t wait to come back.
J.
This hotel was absolutely beautiful. Our stay was perfect and the staff were helpful. Although not cheap, it was worth every penny and we had a fantastic time. Also a little further from the immediate town area however the convenient shuttles made everything a breeze. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.
K.
Customer service was second to none! Beautiful views, huge rooms, comfy beds, stunning bathroom. Saff were only too happy to help. Great stay for a honeymoon. Easy to get into town with a free shuttle service or discount ferry service
T.
Lovely room. Heated floors. Unfortunately jets in the spa bath were not working and our Daughter was so looking forward to using the jacuzzi bath. We were not offered a discount or complimentary anything. Buffet breakfast was good. Friendly staff. But we got charged double although only one of us used the buffet. Left sour taste in our mouths. Otherwise would have been a great experience.
C.
A wonderful stay at The Rees for our wedding and beginning of our honeymoon.
The staff went above and beyond and make sure we were happy and comfortable.
The room service was excellent and tasted great. You order via the tablet in your room! - it would be nice to get a notification that the order was 'sent'. But you do get an 'acknowledged & accepted' as well as 'on the way'.
We stayed in an Executive Lake View room and we were blown away by the size and the view!
The room was spacious and clean and having 1 heater by the staircase on was enough to keep the big room at a nice temperature.
They provide a turn down service which is lovely and the chocolates they leave are delicious!
The bed is huge, the mattress is very soft, I have a sensitive back and was very worried I would get a sore back over 4 nights but surprisingly didn't.
The bathroom was also spacious and clean, there is a bathtub which has jets and a large shower. - but be mindful of the gap in the shower door as water can get through, but placing the floor towel down will help.
There is a small foyer before getting in to the room which can get quite noisy as your neighbours may not be mindful to not slam the doors, would have been nice to have the doors adjusted to the close softly.
There's a water taxi pier at the bottom of the premise which has lovely views of Lake Wakatipu, that costs a discounted 5 NZD from the town centre (showing your room keycard).
There's a free shuttle bus to and from town which leaves every hour from the hotel and quarter past the hour from town (same bus stop).
There's also a nice private car airport service for 55 NZD.
J.
Excellent stay spoilt by email waiting for me on my return home asking for payment for missing mini bar item. I paid for it on Check Out but they obviously never looked at the computer before emailing me. Great hotel spoilt by laziness after I left.
J.
Rooms are expensive but nice. Complimentary shuttle to downtown. Just know that if you book a two bedroom room one of the rooms will be facing the interior of the property and therefore have no view. Also, most of the larger beds are just two twin beds pushed together.
S.
Stayed for a full week here recently in a lakeview apartment. This is a stunning luxury property - the rooms are modern, spacious and have incredible views of Lake Wakatipu. Service was consistently good - from the front desk, room service to concierge who helped book a couple of trips for us for no additional charge. Parking is indoor and plentiful, though the road leading to the parking lot is a bit steep and could be difficult to navigate with a large car. It is also nicely located between the airport and downtown Queenstown, with regular shuttle services to town. Overall, a lovely property that we would love to come back to!
J.
I stayed here at the Rees in April of 2018. The place was stunning. It has everything you ever need for a relaxing stay in Queenstown.
My room had an amazing view of the lake, which was a great sight to wake up to at sunrise.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive which is perfect for a relaxing hotel stay.
j.
Excellent hotel with a fantastic views and a really great services. We enjoyed every minute here. The room was spacious, beautifully furnished and well equipped. It’s a bit far but the view worth it. Definitely recommended 👍🏼
T.
Rooms, location and off course the views are fabulous. The spot I like most is the balcony; the longer I stay (with coffee/ tea) the fresher I feel. Every morning I run while enjoying the breathtaking Lake.
Whenever I travel again to NZ, this hotel will be the first list to stay.
T.
First time in the Rees Hotel as we did the Queenstown Marathon. The service was excellent from the start especially from the British Trainee which shows they put a lot of effort into staff training and service. We were particularly pleasantly surprised by the Poweraide, bananas and massage voucher packs they made for us who were doing the Marathon plus a shuttle to the start line was amazing! Would definitely highly recommend and look forward to returning. 5 stars.
J.
Beautiful! The rooms are excellent. Surround sound TV, perfect view. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which costs 600++ a night thanks to a cancelled Jetstar flight. I won't spend that much in a hotel but now understand why people do.
K.
definitely worth paying for a lakeside view room. the service is impeccable and shout out to alex for being rad. it's not walking distance into town but there is a complimentary shuttle service every hour and you just need to book in a spot. there's bicycle hire too which is lovely to get into town riding along the lake. good choice of movies with the new relases you have to pay for so keep scrolling to see the free ones. the tv quality isn't great though.
F.
What a beautiful hotel! Gorgeous lake view, very quiet and the suites are very spacious. There's even in unit laundry and shuttle to downtown. It's not too far to walk downtown either. Would totally stay here again. It was absolutely wonderful.
L.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the team at The Rees. We had the most fabulous stay and it all came down to the wonderful team there. They are all so friendly and welcoming and we were so well looked after. The rooms are great and the service second to none!
Thank you all so much

Lovely hotel with an amazing view of the lake. These r constructed like condos and each pair of condos share a common hallway. Buffet Breakfast is top notch - I do recommend their eggs Benedict with salmon and spinach. Mine was included in the price. You are about 5 Min from downtown Queenstown which they provide a hourly shuttle to. U must reserve ahead of time - but they will do a 2nd run for u if overcrowded. Each unit has a full glass view of the water - and u can exit to the back trail but only from a certain floor. The laundry is free - and I hope they keep that way. The machines r new - and even the detergent is provided. Negatives ? Perhaps the one bedroom units need a desk as I had to resort to my lap to do any laptop use.
M.
Beautiful hotel. The room had clearly been thought out carefully with every detail taken care of. There were lots of charge points on the room. There was a shared laundry with washing powder provided and the laundry was free. The room it self was beautiful and so comfortable, when you need a rest from the excitement of Queenstown this hotel is a great place to chill out and wnjoy all the free movies on offer. Parking was free and easy. Also, wvery single staff member i ran into (from reception to cleaners) were so cheerful and kind. Id like to think staff are looked after if they are all able to be that happy and nice at work.

We stayed for a week in an apartment with a friend during late July 2012. The apartment was spacious, contained 2 bathrooms (en suite for master) and excellent facilities. Parking was a breeze, staff very professional and the maid service in the rooms was excellent.
Internet was free, but only 150mb a day, bit disappointing with multiple people wanting to use it, and there were problems initially (fixed quickly) No pool on site, and no spa or bath in room. Excellent central location if you have a car, probably a bit far out if you're looking to spend most of your time in QT, but there is a shuttle service.
Try the restaurant for an exquisite dining experience. Would stay again.
G.
Stayed here with the family over the Christmas break in an executive 2 bedroom apartment with lake view. Absolutely beautiful views across the lake. Room was exceptionally well equipped an maintained. The unit was a short drive from town centre but that's not necessarily a bad thing some times. Look forward to staying again
G.
Fantastic place for holidaying.
Family friendly. Beautiful well-insulated rooms. Top class staff, and incredible views of the lake and mountains. A nice walking/cycling track which takes you around the lake. Free shuttle bus to town.
C.
I am delighted to say that my partner and I stayed in the Lakeview room. The room was no less then amazing, it was clean new and very comfortable. But that was just a small bonus to a great stay as the staff was the real winner. We were always greeted with a friendly smile great manners and well presented people. Thankyou so much for making our experience in Queenstown one to never forget 😊
D.
We recently stayed here. The views from our room and from the restaurant were stunning. We liked our room we stayed in. We enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly. Would stay here again if we come back to Queenstown.
R.
I love it here. They view is amazing from the apartments and could see the incredible mountains over lake wakatipu. They were very helpful to provide a high chair for my daughter when requested in our room and very hospitable with any and all questions. Just a nice simple walk down to the lake and easy short drive to central queenstown. Highly recommend and definitely coming back.
T.
The quality of the room was pretty good. The shuttle service back and forth into the town was excellent. From the bedroom and the ample living areas to the balcony that ran the full length of the apartment. Could not try any of their services except breakfast which was quite good.
J.
One of the most amazing and best resort by Lake Wakatipu. Splendidly appointed and fabulous service from the staff. Excellent sleep quality, fantastic furnishings and of course.. the view of the lake from the balcony. You will want to come back here again whenever you are in Queenstown :)))
T.
My husband and I from the US stayed here as a treat for our 25th anniversary and it was an excellent choice. The hotel and apartments would be suitable for families or couples looking for a getaway. The staff were extremely helpful and immediately transferred us several floors up. The location there is absolutely beautiful.
B.
Spent three nights at Rees during our Honeymoon last year. Staff was great, room was nice, view was awesome.
Distance to town (not that far but not something I would want to walk more than once) was offset by the hourly shuttle bus provided by Rees. Room choice is a bit confusing when booking, but we really loved this place. Would recommend.
A.
Fabulous, attentive staff, beautiful decor and well-appointed rooms. We enjoyed a 6 night stay in an Executive Lakeview room on a ski trip. The Rees was a wonderful place to return to each day!
C.
During our trip to New Zealand this was by far our FAVORITE hotel. The food was remarkable, our room and view was exquisite. We were on our honeymoon and when we arrived they had a wonderful book on Queenstown for us to take home with us along with a vase of beautiful flowers. It is a very peaceful spot, outside of town, nice walking trail by the lake that took us into town. I hope we will be able to return here someday, it was truly a perfect 5 star holiday!!
T.
We were given a top floor room, which had a side balcony with concrete wall that blocked the view when you actually sit the table. Anything we required the staff were very hospitable. The Rees required a 30 minute walk into town and a taxi …
W.
Very good, could be great. The layout of the units is awkward. The second bedroom is located such that in protrudes into the living area in a bizarre manner, comprising any privacy. Otherwise this is a good location, attentive staff, and excellent features in the apartment unit. The apartments are adjacent to a convenience walkway providing a beautiful 30-45 minute walk into the center of Queenstown.
d.
I wish I could give them 6 stars! The best accomodation I have ever stayed at. We stayed on the 7th floor in an executive 2 bedroom apartment, the apartment was stunning, so clean and tidy with a home-like feel, the views were phenomenal. Highly recommend.
M.
Beautiful hotel, super friendly staff, the most incredible views. The shuttle runs a bit infrequently to go to the centre of town but otherwise I don't have a single complaint. Well worth a trip if it's within the budget.
R.
While my stay is not yet over and opinions subject to change, here are my initial thoughts. The rooms seem to be maintained very well. The bathroom was cleaned impeccably and the shower very large and comfortable. The room and balcony are awesome and the view great.
The dining options are incredibly expensive and cater to a nicer palate. One plate entrée averages about $40. I won't be eating here so I can't rate the food. Edit 1: we stayed in and popped a bottle of wine and got room service, which is a different menu than the restaurant. The meal was tasty and not bad on price. The rooms come with free or pay-for movie streaming so we enjoyed a few movies with dinner.
The shuttle service offered seems very convenient but I also have not used it. The internet allotment is currently 3000MB for the stay, which seems pretty good. Speed does not appear to be an issue despite low signal quality in my room. Edit 2: it's 3000MB PER DAY. You log back in every 24h and get a new 3000. Pretty great deal, just remember to log in every 24h.
Lots of coffee and tea options in your room. Hot chocolate is also included. It feels like a really nice one bedroom apartment. Would recommend. If this review does not change in a few weeks my opinion stands.
Edit 3: the Rees staff actually care about your reviews and look at them. I returned from my trip today to find a card and a small thank you from one of the managers for leaving this review, despite it not being 100% sparkling (read above about expensive meals). This thank-you came prior to any edits. It goes to show you that the management does care about your feedback and is looking forward to hearing the positives and the negatives so they can adjust and remain ranked as a 5-star hotel.
J.
Very nice place. Great lake view, delicious breakfast. We were only there from midnight until 8am due to a flight cancellation, so we weren't able to check it all out. But the shower was excellent!
A.
Nice place. Has a convenient shuttle service to town and back. Be careful of some of the room pics we stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment and the pics of thr balcony were taken at night which disquised the fact that half your view was obstructed by the roofs of the apartments in front of it (aka a mountain view). Pretty disappointed and the hotel didn't even offer to compensate us for what I felt was a misrepresentation of the facility.
J.
What a great place! The room was amazing, very comfortable with a great view. The location of the hotel was great too, just a short drive to the heart of Queenstown. I wasn't too impressed with the internet, being that it was timed every day but it seemed to be the norm for all New Zealand hotels. Will be staying here again!
B.
Me and my wife had an amazing experience here at the rees. Amazing view from the balcony, rooms were lovely, and allot of great facilities.
The staff were also very friendly and supportive, they went out of there way to recommend some nice places for us to visit. Felt very welcomed.
Highly recommended!
J.
A flight cancellation got us an overnight stay at an apartment. Really great service from the staff, the rooms were of top quality, awesome view. That being said, I usually don't spend as much on accommodations to stay in such an establishment.
H.
Best hotel we’ve stayed. Service staffs were helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and the view is superb. Will stay there again in future. Thank you Rees for the enjoyable stay!
A.
To be honest giving them 3 stars is rather generous. Yes while the staff were helpful especially the concierge. The hotel itself isnt the best. The parking is extremely tight and inconvient. The room has no space for luggage at all. The bathrooms are not the best and to be honest it is just really over priced. It’s not a bad place to stay but not worth the price at all.
F.
Amazing food and service. I had the free range chicken and my boyfriend had the brisket. The most amazing food we have ever had. Everything was cooked to perfection. Staff went above and beyond for us. Quite good value for the level of food and service. Highly recommend.
K.
First time staying at Rees. Staff all friendly and helpful, interior lovely and views superb. Shuttle into town was good and easy to get a cab back after dinner. Breakfast was very nice with range of cooked options not just a buffet. Would definitely come again.
A.
Beautiful scenery from my balcony! The apartment feel homey ❤️💗💗❤️ in love with this place. One of the best hotel that I’ve ever stayed. I wanna come back again with my family.
T.
The Rees is a modern, and convenient option when visiting Queenstown. It was high season for tourism in New Zealand during our stay so prices for a regular room were well over $400 if they were available at all. With that being said, we got a decent deal given the time frame we were there (during the Christmas holidays). The free parking, BRILLIANT VIEWS, helpful staff, and location all make it a no brainer to stay here. However, there was one huge disappointment in how pathetic the internet speed was throughout the stay. It was very difficult to do anything besides checking email throughout my stay, which I could've done on my phone with T-Mobile's free data roaming. Not having A/C may be an issue for some, but I didn't find that to be a problem any time during my stay. I would definitely without a doubt stay at this hotel again if I needed an apartment style place to stay. However if I needed to work during my stay, I would certainly look at other options.
T.
Our stay at the Rees was an unforgettable experience. Reception is on the top floor at ground level, and all seven floors provide rooms with a Great Lake view and overlooking deck. Check in time was at 2pm but we arrived early around 11am and the room was ready.
O.
Views from our room were stunning! Can't fault the facilities. Staff made everything so easy, facilities are awesome. Room was comfy & warm
P.
Beautiful hotel with amazing views, good rooms, free WiFi and complimentary laundry, plus access to the trail by the lake for walks / runs.
Dinner in the restaurant was superb (e.g. the scallops, pork belly, beef), although the service itself didn't always quite match (e.g. not being able to explain the menu, not understanding what we were wanting to order)
A.
Hotel is nice.
Shuttle service to town not up to scratch. Doesn't run often enough, and found out during the day after waiting for 30 mins that day trips need to be booked ( we were bumped off a shuttle from someone else booking) so watch for that. I suggest they should make all bookings mandatory to avoid people missing out.
Restaurant was nice and expected for the price.
N.
Concierge was wonderful to work with - set up spa and heli skiing. Rooms are beautiful - view of the lake is fab. Shuttle service to town super convenient. Only complaint is restaurant/food options. Eat in town instead.
T.
Loud construction noise at early hours when taking a mini break from your life as a mum does not a happy camper make. The apartment we rented was excellent with full service included. I loved staying here and feel as though I would happily come back to stay next time.
G.
Such a beautiful location with amazing staff and facilities. Trust the Chef's 6 course degustation and wine matching! One of our best meals ever!
G.
My second stay at The Rees, and this is as good as the first. Wonderful views of the lake and Remarkables. Great service, good food, quality toiletries, complimentary shuttle to and from town. Recommend a room on Level 4 or above for the best views.
H.
What a place! We stayed recently so we could do the Marathon and we couldn’t have been more delighted with the experience. Concierge, Alex, was brilliant, the room beautiful and the food and wine incredible.
T.
The Rees is a real luxury. Quick drive from the airport and was nice to be out of the main part of town. There was plenty of parks but our hire car was a Ford Ranger and it was a struggle to get it into the car spots. The breakfast was included although you may have to double check the hotel bill when you checkout.
A.
2 bedroom apartment for 4 nights booked
Staff: Friendly and easy going.
Hotel: Due to it’s location the lobby has the most scenic view. Everything is simple and elegant.
Apartment: Modern design and decor was simple and elegant as well. It had everything we required and was maintained throughout the stay.
Toiletries: Otago lavender: South Spa products were the best thing about the stay! (Apartment from the adventure ofcourse !) The Body lotion is a miracle in a bottle. Lavender is known for its soothing properties and after a physically exhausting day, Lavender shower gel/scrub and body lotion are the best for relaxing sleep.
Food: Queenstown itself is known to be very expensive so we stuck to buying groceries and making our own food.
T.
The Rees Hotel is a very nice hotel (a tad pretentious but nice overall) but be careful of what room you select. The apartment are very cozy n nice. The room had state of the art facilities including heated floors and in-room Spa. A nice bunch of staff from all over the world.
P.
very good location with magnificent view from the room. Kitchen is full-equipment and the bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is served with buffet style and the quality is very good.
T.
The Rees is lovely. Q'town and the surrounding areas are truly some of the most beautiful places on earth. The master bedroom can be closed off or fully opened up to enjoy the lake & mountain views by sliding 'walls'; clever idea. I enjoyed every serving offered at the restaurant for breakfast.
T.
The people who work there are so wonderful and made our stay perfection. We enjoyed the new release movies on offer too as well as the turn down service with the small Patagonia chocolate gift. We had a wonderful stay and we will be back to the Rees in the future.
J.
Excellent hotel with great views of lake if request lake view room.Tasting menu in restaurant very good ss well as breakfast food. Very friendly staff and good amenities. Have shuttle bus into town.
E.
Our stay was exceptional in every way, from our beautiful room overlooking snow capped mountains, to the staff that were so friendly, helpful and hospitable, we cannot fault our stay and look forward to going back to The Rees Hotel, would highly recommend!
J.
Amazing service and great staff! Definitely going back:)
J.
The service and rooms at The Rees were exceptional. Very monder and stylish but with a bit of a twist. The service was great, even for a larger hotel they made you feel like you were the only one staying there.
김.
It was the best view hotel i have ever stayed. and the breakfast menu was great too. One thing i felt sorry about it was the complicated path to the rooms. One of my friend lost in hotel and called me to help in the end.
M.
Very clean and spacious room. The breakfast is delicious. Free laundry machines. My only compliant is that our room had a view of another building and not the lake.
T.
We had an attic style room which did not have the glass balcony overlooking the lake as in the brochures. My only disappointment was the location of our room. I wonder how ***y people who don't speak perfect english are receiving these emails and having extra erroneous charges added to their credit cards.
L.
This hotel is amazing. Not only is the location amazing, the staff are lovely and they make the experience very enjoyable. It's close to town and the airport and rooms are very nice. I can't wait to go back.
P.
My wife & I stayed here back in 2012.
We absolutely loved it. Great view, large room, friendly staff.
Close to town for a sneaky Ferg Burger & beer.
Definitely coming back.
G.
Great views of Queenstown, excellent service and friendly staff. The rooms are very spacious with awesome views and also comes with free parking!!!
L.
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Great location, beautiful views, staff helpful and friendly. One of the nicest meals I have ever had. Beautifully presented, chef top class fine dining at its best
n.
Comfortable and luxury is the here concepts! The breakfast do not meetup our expectation just so so.
The lake view outside the room is awesome.
M.
This is a fantastic luxury spot to enjoy the best of Queenstown. Apartments are high quality and well equipped and views to die for. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
S.
Highly recommend! Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Queenstown. Staff are amazing, food was good and the place is gorgeous! :)
B.
Please be very careful when booking for this Hotel. We were charged for two rooms when one room was clearly booked for my husband and I. There was no compromise we were charged for the full amount on two rooms for three nights. A very expensive stay at Queenstown, never again.
M.
Stunning hotel and apartments. Apartments high quality with wonderful views. Shuttle into Queenstown free and hourly, 20 minute walk otherwise. Restaurant disappointing and breakfast very average for the price.
P.
Great Hotel for your stay in Queenstown. With great views over the lake, very comfortable rooms and the restaurant onsite has great food and beverage. The staff are very professional and helpful and friendly.
F.
Nicely appointed rooms. We were on the 5th floor and our view of the lake was obscured by the roof in front of us. Also no room around the bed to put your baggage.
E.
The rooms, more like full apartments, are clean and spacious. The furnishings are new and modern and the views are amazing. Would definitely book again.
J.
I am updating my earlier review to give the Rees 5 stars when it comes to customer service - esp Duty Manager Fiona - a family member had left an item in her room and Fiona and the wonderful Reed team kept checking until they found it and sent it along to catch up with us on the last leg of our trip- we are so grateful for their persistence and their helpfulness - 5 star service!
M.
Honestly amazing hotel.
Good and friendly team and lovely view.
Room is so cozy.
I enjoyed to spend my 40's birthday here.
Thank you.
T.
After reading such wonderful reviews about the Rees, I was really pleased that I could book into The Rees to experience it for myself. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Thankyou for making my birthday very special The wee touch of a birthday car and lollies was sweet.
E.

R.
Amazing view of the lake and the rooms are absolutely amazing. thank you for the amazing stay
S.
Fabulous - very comfortable spacious rooms , views to die for, and fantastic staff. Restaurant is very good (5 star), with excellent local wine menu.
N.
Amaxing view and great walk down to the lake. Friendly service! we stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary. was special.
L.
The service here was awesome it was my birthday and i got every conceivable treat from the staff .I certainly felt special and left feeling fantastic. The food was presented beautifully and tasted great.
T.
Mattess is sinking need replacing. Feels like warehouse mattress. Other than bad sleeps, others all good.
C.
The hotel make some surprise for us ! Lovely!
Every one was kindly for us, they explain everything for us, even give us some good suggest of travel.
Merry Christmas!
A.
Stunning location. Very high quality hotel.super rooms, good food and friendly staff. Can recommend highly.
B.
Views from the room was amazing but very little privacy with people in the rooms around you being able to look in.
Staff were friendly but a number of mistakes made everyday.
A.
So comfortable and beautiful place. The rooms are expensive but view from room is priceless. I hope to visit Queensland again and stay at the same hotel

Very nice place work a great unobstructed view of the lake and the Remarkables. Also has a walkway out down by the shore and a great dock you can jump off of into the lake!
F.
Amazing place with amazing staff. Great location, great room - clean, modem and thoughtful.
Thank you guys. Will come back again.
S.
Skiing in NZ is so much easier if you stay at The Rees. Very impressed with the kiwi wine !
T.
Stunning. Fantastic view and beautiful rooms. The only negative is a lack of air conditioning for those unusually hot days.
A.
Big and clean rooms, good views of the mountains. Just a bit far from town, needing the free hotel shuttle to ferry you to and fro.
N.
Good hotel with friendly and helpful staff, the only downside are it far from Queenstown area and there needs to be more light in the parking slope.
T.
Great stay no need for a rental with the free shuttle. Can't fault the staff and wine please stay here.
P.
Very nice accommodation, very friendly staff, location not the best, luckily we had car hire so not a problem for ourselves
S.

J.
Nice hotel, rooms, service and restaurant. The real highlight is the view though. Get a Lakeview room.
J.
Couldn't check in till nearly 4pm and internet is limited unless you pay more. Bad for a supposedly 5 star hotel!!

(Translated) We stayed in a room with a lake view on the 7th floor. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. The basic explanation was easy to understand because there was a Japanese paper. Various reservations such as restaurants need to be done directly in English, but room service etc. was easy because I can do it with a tablet.
It is convenient to use one shuttle every hour to the city.

(Translated) The name of the hotel is taken from "William Gilbert Rees", the founder of Queenstown and a bronze statue in the lobby.
Next to the reception is a comfortable library and lounge with views of the snow-capped mountains and Lake Wakatipu.
The road to the room was a bit turning. Take the elevator to the fourth floor and then the other elevator to the first floor.
The room is very light and wide, and there is a big comb near the terrace. You can sit comfortably here and sigh on the TV.
The bed is not big, but it is moderately soft and comfortable.
The layout of the room is simple and stylish, with no extra decoration and a fresh feeling.
The bathroom is simply furnished but clean.
The shampoo and shower gel provided in the bathroom have a strong vanilla flavor, which is refreshing and refreshing.
Wi-Fi speed is acceptable, but only 2000MB, there is an extra charge for overdose.
The terraces of Wangzheng Snow Mountain and Lake Wakatipu are like a living landscape painting, and the more beautiful it is.
The hotel has a car park and guests are welcome to come by car.
There are a number of rental villas in front of the hotel, even if a big holiday is a problem.
The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to Queenstown city centre, which is very convenient for an hour.
The restaurant is small, but there is a large floor-to-ceiling window that feels cool and guests can enjoy breakfast while enjoying the view of Lake Wakatipu.
As soon as the seat was low, the waiter immediately rushed two pots of tea to the two, and the service was very thoughtful.
Breakfast is self-service, and you can also pick a dish related to the egg. The spotted eggs of the pigs are beautifully sold and the eggs are full of flavor.
The rough eyebrows are fried Japanese noodles with fried noodles, full of suffocating and unexpectedly good food.
Listening to the waiter, the hotel chef has returned, so the quality of the food is particularly good.
This hotel has a comfortable environment and excellent service. If you have a chance to come to Queenstown next time, you will definitely stay here.

(Translated) The location is along Lake Wakatipu. About 10 minutes by car from the center of Queenstown. Atmosphere ◎. The room is modern and very calm. There is a separate bathtub in the bathroom as well as amenities. The view from the terrace is also pleasant. The chocolate from the chocolate shop in Queenstown was happy to be in the bedside every day with the service from the hotel.

(Translated) The disinfection water in the room was very heavy. We stayed for three days. The second and third days were not cleaned very cleanly. The kitchen countertops were not even rubbed. The bed was very soft. It would be sore in the morning. The quilt is very thin, and although it is heated indoors, it is uncomfortable to cover. Not proportional to the price.

(Translated) Very beautiful English Lakeview hotel, if there are a few people I have stayed at the apartments, I stayed here for four days, and the apartments also lived with the hotel room, because our family of four started the book room when you see the ordinary twin room. I lived in four people and didn't have any enquiries, but when I arrived, I knew that there was only one room for two people. The result was that the shop staff helped us to change the two-bedroom apartment on the first day, and the second and third rooms lived in two double rooms because The time I went was Christmas and New Year, the room was full, the apartments were very large and comfortable, there was a large balcony with a superb view of the lake, and there was an open kitchen. The hotel room on the second day was actually very big. It is suitable for self-driving people. There is a parking space, it is very convenient to go to the sights. It is an appointment to eat breakfast here, because the restaurant is not big, but the breakfast it makes is delicious. I heard that it is a restaurant with a food award.
