V.Host was great. Breakie included fruits, salami, ham and breads. 15 mins drive from Rotorua but the hotel has all the facilities if you wanna stay in. Pool table, swimming pool and huge estate to explore.

A.Excellent place to stay in Rotorua with splendid scenery. The service offered by Rebecca and Joe was exceptional. But, a change needs to be introduced into the breakfast. The same breakfast everyday is boring and turns off the customers.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience for us. Will suggest to anyone prefering a countryside stay.
E.Beautiful home on a beautiful piece of land. Only two staff and one chef that seemed to be the one doing all the cleaning. The couple in charge were nice and polite. But the place needs a bit of a fixer upper. We could hear the couple upstairs talking and squeaking through the stairs. Bottom poolside room was a bit cold but the male staff offered us a second heater which was nice. Overall my husband and i were grateful to have some where to stay while visint Rotorua.
x.This is the best hotel I have ever stayed here. It is especially suitable for families, friendly staff and free continental breakfast, which gives me a good mood to start my next journey. Highly recommended👍🏻
P.This place is really lovely, the rooms are large and comfortable and the bathrooms work well. The Manager, Rebecca, is wonderful, so friendly and helpful, she really made our stay so good.
K.We really enjoyed our stay at the Hamurana Lodge. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. Once I walked in, I wished I could've had a few more days before our stay had even begun. It has a classic, old-fashioned feel. The rooms were as expected and the heated bathroom floors were a nice touch as well. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the rooms are relatively close together and you can hear other guests moving about the lodge. My wife and I heard the neighbors alarm go off one morning, and it woke us up. We would definitely return though. We loved our stay.

T.Best experience I’ve ever had at a hotel! We were the only ones there and our host (James) was VERY kind. He lives there and tends to the entire property, entertains guests, cleans, and cooks breakfast for everyone even if it’s a full house! In this case, since it was only us, he took special requests and did a fantastic job entertaining. James showed us around, offered us a drink on the house since it’s our honeymoon, told us quite a lot of history and gave us advice on what attractions to prioritize around Rotorua and New Zealand. It was truly a one of a kind experience.
P.Great Stay! My wife and I were there for 7 nights. James and his staff were very hospitable and helpful in every way. Great expansive room and delicious breakfast every morning before our outings. Would highly recommend to anyone.
C.We visited here during covid19 level two, so there were some limited facilities, but we got such a great bargain that we were very happy. The location was beautiful, the room was lovely and very clean, lots of hot water, and such a comfortable bed.
N.If you like old cosy cottages, then this may be the place for you with it’s wood panel walls, dark lighting and dated decor. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights on our honeymoon and used the place as a base for a comfortable night’s sleep after we went off to do the White Island helicopter tour, thermal exploration and the Tongariro crossing. On our first two days, we left ridiculously early and returned after 10pm and the place was completely dead with not a person in sight. They have a pool table and bar but both seem to close very early so definitely not a place for those that like a bit of entertainment at night.
The beds are comfortable with nice fluffy duvets and pillows however I am 5’10 and could not stand straight in the shower as the head was very low. The water pressure and temperature was good but I feel there should be an extractor fan because the bathrooms steams up quite a lot given the cold outdoor temperature. We found the bathroom floor to be uncomfortably cold and no slippers were given so we were relieved on our second night to see there was a switch to heat the bathroom floor to a bearable temperature. I was really impressed to see they offered L’Occitaine toiletries in the bathroom and ended up taking them to use when we were finished at the Polynesian Spa. Imagine my dismay that they did not replace them at all throughout our stay.
They provided two bottles of water daily in the room but there was a menu next to them saying that water is $3 a bottle...we were happy when we checked out to find that the water was free but perhaps a note saying the water is complimentary would be good.
We finally tried their breakfast on our last day and were so disappointed with what was on offer. There were a few pieces of cheese, salami and ham left, some fruit, bread & croissants & cereal. They offered tea and coffee. With the cold climate and huge hike we did the day before, there was nothing I would have appreciated more than the option of hot food, I mean they didn’t even have eggs when we asked.
J.I highly recommend Hamurana Lodge. The 7 room hotel is an amazing spot. The staff are incredible and the decor is wonderful. Keep an eye out for the sign because the road access is easy to miss but once you find it you will have a wonderful journey through the hotel grounds and be greeted by the wonderful outlet. Rooms are comfortable, underfloor heating is amazing. Just be weary that the walls are quiet thin so your neighbours can hear you and you can hear them. Couldn't recommend more!
T.The rooms are deceptively large given the staircase and hallway dimensions. We were welcomed at the door each time we drove in before we even hopped out of the car. The lodge is located in a beautiful spot by the lake a little outside Rotorua. Thank you Patrick & Team, for a wonderful stay.
T.Our room was really nice and offered all the comforts of home. The breakfast was incredible and I wish we stayed a bit longerthere is so much to do in Roturua. Highly recommended for couples and families alike, heck, I'd come back even if I were just solo-ing NZ.

T.My wife and I loved this place. A few cracks/discolouring so could probably use some new fittings. We were met at the door, and shown around the property by the lovely staff. The house itself is a large tudor ***sion. We stayed in the king suite and the room was spectacular.

T.Hamurana Lodge was in a great location for us about. Loved the open fire in the lounge room, and the view over the gardens from the lovely breakfast room. We would highly recommend Hamurana Lodge as a haven of calm and an excellent place to stay and hope to return in the not too distant future.

T.Can't say enough great things about the Hamurana Lodge Short, but easy drive, from central Rotorua. To the extent that the staff even asked our estimated dining time to ensure the croissants were fresh out of the oven. Thanks to Patrick and all the staff for their excellent care of us.

C.Self promoted as 5 star, the Hamurana sits in large grounds, the drive weaves through to the lodge via cattle and llamas. The staff, meet you at the entrance and proceed to give the tour. The place is a little tired. The rooms are fully equipped but with equipment from 10 years previously, there's WiFi throughout and Netflix available in the guest TV lounge. The staff, are willing but undertrained and not confident. Breakfast, which is included, was good. Steep steps to the entrance and to our room. Given all this it was pricey. This place could be great with some investment.
J.Aww covid has really hit this lodge hard and it sucks because it is a beautiful place to stay. Staff are so accomodating, rooms are comfy as and the grounds are beaut.
T.The location is near Rotorura's tourist activities by a short drive, but not a walkable distance. There's plenty to do within the lodge and we could have spent the whole time there. Patrick, Sam and Tom were the consummate hosts and went out of their way to meet our every need. Thank you so much.
K.Country side Lodge located just outside of Rotatura. The lodge is impressive with 30 rooms giving off a unique experience of the country side living. During the night, it was possible to star gaze easily.

We were so spoilt with attention to detail and great old fashioned service.
The driveway to the lodge was our first introduction to Hamurana Lodge, it was amazing, the autumn leaves, the lights on the house and then the slate staircase up to the lodge.
We were met by Patrick at the car where he welcomed us and took our bags in for us.
Check in was seamless and quick, we had plans to meet friends in town, only a short drive away, and Patrick made sure we left in time to meet up with them.
Our rooms were very spacious and comfortable with many little extra's such as the iPod dock/clock, a safe, the H2O kettle, the Nespresso machine, luxurious l'occitane toiletries and heated bathroom floors!!! Bliss!!!
The semi rural position of the lodge allows for some animals on the property, when walking around it was lovely to meet Merlin the donkey, LeeLee the goat, the 4 chooks and the KuneKune pigs.
We highly recommend Hamurana Lodge for anyone wanting a home away from home with a dedicated team that know what it means to go above and beyond and show us they genuinely care, ie. Matt meeting us close to midnight at the car with 2 big umbrellas.

R.Secluded private location with tennis courts and swimming pool. Heated bathroom tile and the animals onsite is a highlight. But some staff are not very friendly.

T.Assuming you've driven in from Auckland (or Hobbiton) you will be (unexpectedly) tired from the road and this is an excellent recess from your transit. Patrick even vacuumed our car without being asked. The floors creak quite a bit, so you can hear anyone walking around outside the room or on the upper floor.
L.Beautiful setting but struggled with nextdoor snoring and luke warm water. Also asked to keep quiet from 8pm in the bar/pool room.

Si tratta di una magnifica struttura situata in una zona davvero incantevole.
Lo staff è molto accogliente, gentile e attento.
La stanza era molto grande, luminosa, pulitissima e il letto era davvero comodo!
La colazione è abbondante, deliziosa e adatta ai gusti di tutti.
Le aree comuni sono incantevoli e anche la piscina è molto bella!
Il giardino è meraviglioso e gli animaletti che ci vivono sono carini e simpatici...soprattutto l'asinello!

현대식 건물이 아닌 근사한 저택에서의 하루였기에 특별한 경험이었으며, 무제한 와이파이, 멋진 인테리어와 시설, 무료음료까지! 뉴질랜드에선 찾기힘든 서비스였다. 무엇보다 최고는 호스트가 정말정말 친절하시다. 직접 나와서 맞이와 배웅을 해주시며 짐 옮기는 것도 도와주시고, 실수로 바우처들을 다 두고왔는데 다음 일정의 호텔로 연락하고 이메일로 스캔해서 보내주셔서 체크인 시 프린트된 바우처를 받았다ㅜㅜ 잃어버렸다고 연락을 했던 것도 아니고 잃어버린 사실조차 몰랐던 터라 얼마나 감사하던지!
다음에 뉴질랜드 온다면 꼭 들를 것이다! 더불어 조식도 정성스레 직접 준비해주셔서 가정에 초대받아 대접 받는 기분!
