S.Very child-friendly. Had a very enjoyable time with my young children and service was impeccable.
My 7 year old son said he felt like a King staying here. We loved the warm, spacious pool and entertaining kids room. Console games, life-size chess, air hockey, an infants area and colouring table! He was so upset that we had to leave! Admittedly, so was I.
Kids needs aside, this hotel is lovely if you are a solo or couple traveller. The bar area is spacious and comfy with very welcoming and friendly staff. The pool and spa are warm and lovely to unwind in after a long day of sightseeing. Rooms are so tidy and clean that I was comfortable to let my 8 month old son crawl around in the floor in our room.
We look forward to staying here again soon!

M.We have stayed here several times. The staff are always friendly and the pool is fantastic. One of my daughters actually cried when we got back home as she had had such a great holiday. However it is unfortunate the hotel requires a vaccine pass to stay so unfortunately we won't be returning until this misguided policy is reversed.
A.This will be the third time we have stayed at the holiday inn Rotorua and we will be back. We do a lot of mountain biking and this location backs on to the whakarewarewa forest so it is ideal. They have a lockup room for your bikes and a bike wash area outside. The pool is great for the kids and they now have a kids room with games etc. The restaurant is great and it works out pretty well priced since kids eat free. Overall I think this is the best place to stay in Rotorua if you are a mountain biking family.

A.Great place to stay with kids, they have a playroom with fooseball, air hockey and table tennis, also 2 game consoles with big screens and other games and coloring tables, kids welcome pack too. The pool is heated directly outside the kidsroom and there's x2 spa pools as well. The restaurant buffets were great, the roast beef they served the night I was there was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, especially the bed which I really appreciated, only downside was the noise the aircon unit made was a bit loud, but I didn't complain.

L.Friendly staff, good amenities and rest assured all high touch surfaces are being thoroughly cleaned. The dinner buffet is too pricey. The beef was overcooked, fried fish was soggy, cutting of steamed vegetables was too big. So they did not cook evenly and there was no flavour. Jasmine rice was sticky and overcooked. Crème brûlée was only thing in the buffet that was worth going for seconds. Paying $100 over for dinner buffet with only one dish worth going for the seconds would not be prudent. Hence the four star.

V.Very pleased with the room and bathroom cleanliness. A plunger or espresso machine would have been nice in the room, rather than instant coffee sachets. The room is pretty small for a couple and third person (child). The buffet dinner was a good spread, but the main dishes lacked flavour. The dessert table was incredible though.

+ Heated swimming pool and jacuzzi tubs
+ Large size room and 2 queen beds that's comfortable
+ Close proximity to city center
+ Espresso machine in room
Negatives:
- Dated room and bathroom. Carpet doesn't feel very clean.
- Very mediocre customer service. Rang reception 3x and not even once answered. Walked passed cleaning lady 3x and not even a smile or a greeting. Couple of relatively rude staff at reception but there was also 2 that was really nice.
- Pricey for the quality of service / rooms
- Very small TV especially given the size of the room.
- Insufficient parking. Unless you come back early, you will need to park road side.

R.So good! Staying in town for a wedding, so family members also booked rooms. My mum had just received an email regarding urgent medical treatment as she arrived, and Sandeep was so helpful taking the time to get the forms printed and scanned to put her mind at ease.
For myself, I had forgotten to get a card for the wedding, the gift shop was closed, and Sophie calmly and quietly did us a card and printed it for us as we made our way through reception. Top service!
Regarding the rooms: clean, comfy, and the air con is simple to use which is uncommon in hotels I find!

This is the very first time we've stayed in a Holiday Inn property. The staff has made the family holiday experience a memorable one.
We've stayed in soo many properties over the years in New Zealand, but we would say the most unpretentious and unprecedented customer service experience we've ever had in New Zealand.
My 2 year old was soo comfortable interacting with the staff. We had
the ability and flexibility to have our room serviced within our chosen time frame. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable.
Restaurant staff have been interactive, very informative, helpful and polite. We did enjoy both dinner and breakfast at the Chapman restaurant. The desserts were commendable.
We loved the heated pool and were pleased with the fact it was kept clean and tidy at all times.
Special mention and special thanks to Nikita from Reception and Ross & Kabeeta from Restaurant, for their exceptional service and warm/can do attitude.
