Stayed here over Christmas break. Great hospo service, really genuine helpful hosts. It’s a place that is as tidy as it gets. Easy price, round the corner from Rotorua central, accessible to everything and plenty to do. If you want chill vibes with kids, think less, there’s heated swimming pool, I strongly recommend. Would give a 11/10 if I could.

Accommodates to all your homely needs, great ventilation, close to everything/ activities, friendly staff, pool, spa and serene! Enjoyed our summer break. Highly recommended 👌

Great stay kids and adults loved the facilities. We had x2 1 bedroom with spa and loved it good amount of space, clean and friendly helpful staff. Thanks for the treats on xmas day for the kids :)

My stay here is perfect. Excellent. Friendly Staff. Helps interacts with customers good chap Mr Park. Rooms are perfect single clean. No disruptions Yes Winz Clients friendly neighbors all help each other Be great to stay here no problems at all. I give this a rating of 4 Thank you.

We are a family of 5 & our stay with kowhai was a 10 out of 10, was clean & perfect for our whanau kids loved the heated pool, the owners were kind & lovely definitely recommend & i will proble book again here 😊

Lovely friendly hosts and great location. We really enjoyed the pool as was nice and hot, however a bit hazardous at night since they really need lights by the stairs to get there. Rooms were comfortable and glad they had Sky channels, but was disappointed there was no baking tray in oven and no microwave bowl. However, we would definitely stay again😊

Me and my family loved it here but stay was cut short due to lockdown I will be back soon 🙂unit was clean,warm and spacious for my kids to play.The man at the front desk was lovely during check in friendly and the lady who checked us out was also very nice

Spacious (we got a unit with 2 rooms with a double bed and 2 single beds for $150). Furniture is basic. We had a kitchen in the unit (big plus for us^^). Parking was a bit awkward as we had an ute. The hot thermal pool was small but the water quality was really unexpected and probably in a top handful of the hotsprings I've been to: one of the slimy, soapy consistency ones that I LOVE! Friendly staff :) I don't come to Rotorua much but would consider again if I drop by during low season as I would expect that the hot pool could fill up fast

Stayed in a family unit 3 bedroom 2 bathroom nice and clean no winz people here host very good even gave us his butter pool fantastic will definitely stay again

Keeping in mind this is not a 5 star hotel. You get what you pay for. Very friendly staff and the unit was clean and tidy. Peaceful place and not noisy at all. We had two really good nights with very comfortable beds. Great place if your cash strapped or just passing through. They have a warm pool to relax after a full day of fun. Close to town. Perfect location. Good value for money.

the owners are welcoming.. very comfortable..old place but being refurbished. tidy and good self contained unita.. my grandchildren had a fabulous time with the swimming pool.

Ended up here due to car breaking down people have been really great and friendly. Room is big. The bathroom bit old but everything clean and tidy really liked it here and can walk to everything. Would come back here for sure. Prices seem good for what I got.

Very awesome, the staff members are kind we get a nice discount because of a friend of my dads. The motel room that I have is pretty good. It has a swimming pool. There’s a good tv that sometimes doesn’t work or is delayed. If you’re looking for a motel, highly recommend you guys to come visit this place. It’s cheap and nice. Enjoy your stay!

Surpassed my (admittedly low) expectations for a 4 night stay. Great location - walk to city centre and Eat Street, easy road access. Budget accommodation is well maintained (hard work in Rotorua). Enough space for 2 adults 2 teen kids in the 1 bedroom with private spa, two twin beds and sofa in lounge. Nicely heated pool and two thermal spas. Staff are friendly, helpful and inconspicuous. Would come back.

We love the place..it is always well maintained and very clean..the owners ,and staff are very friendly making sure that we are ok or in need of anything. We recommend to anyone...esp if you have a little or a large family to try kowhai colonial . We now make this our away from home place to stay whenever we want to get away from the hussle and bussle of Aucks lol 🙂🤗😁 Hope yous enjoy as much as we do 👍👍👍

3.5 stars from us. It had just enough of what we practically needed. The place looked old and just clean enough. The room was pleasantly huge (queen bed in one room and 3 beds in another room plus lounge dining bathroom and kitchen). Room was humid as it's by the pool maybe. Friendly person at reception. Thank you guys

For a fair price I booked a two bedroom and it was clean & tidy, adequate for family needs. Enjoyed the two private mineral hotpools. Super hot thoroughly enjoyed. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool.

For the price it was fine. Comfortable accommodation , all that you need. Close to the city and other activities. We enjoyed the pools after a cold day out, nice to heat up. Staff was friendly.

Basic, as you would expect for 140 dollars. But it was clean and comfortable. The only problem was the lock o. Our door was faulty as we went out. (scary really).

3bedroom unit nice n big book in staff friendly but under the lounge chairs (cushions) plenty of crumbs been there a while needs a good vaccum

Only for 1 night and the room was not impressive. We had to park on our own terrace, and by doing that we blocked the whole walking area. We had a small car so if you have a som what bigger car there is no parking. The chairs and table outside where really dirty. Won't go here again.

Clean and cosy place to stay! The owner and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. You can ask anything about Rotorua and they have the right answers for you.

From the day that I booked and going over countless reviews from other past guests I knew this place would tick all the boxes for me and my family, from the warm welcome at reception to the super clean room “Room 14” with Spa bath and I can’t fault this place at all! It has everything you could want and more mineral spa baths at your disposal or the awesome Olympic size swimming pool “heated/warm” kids loved it and your hospitality checking up on us every morning clearing our rubbish and making sure we have fresh towels for the day absolutely stunning! I recommend this place to large families to couples looking for a cozy clean super hospitable place this is it and one last thing is that this motel is literally 2 mins from the shopping mall , town centre , and all the major shops Kmart, farmers , countdown paknsave and all your petrol stations thank you again for having us 25-27 march 2021 2022 looking forward to booking with you again 🙌🏼
