I stayed here recently and I liked it very much, the lady at reception her name is neetu an she is very very nice an also really helpful as is the owner febin. I would highly recommend this place when searching for accommadation as it is great, friendly, Tidy, an have good affordable rooms.👍

Much better than expected! The private room is one of the biggest, cleanest and nicest we had on the whole north island! The staff is also really nice and always makes sure you’re okay. Lots of complaints about the kitchen, but apart from the fridge (it’s a little small) it’s all good! Would definitely stay here again!

Clean beds, clean showers, clean toilets, clean kitchen. The private double bed rooms are spacious, beds really comfortable. Showers are hot, stoves are working properly and the cooking gear and cutlery isnt missing anything. Big thumbs up to Andrew, he is a really lovely and caring host. He makes the experience here special and I wish the next hosts here will be taken care of by him. Fully recommended, this place is underrated. You'll get better than what your pay for

Decent hostel. Toilets are clean and showers are good. The rooms are bit cramped though, specially the 6 Bed ones. There are private rooms with 2 bunker beds/queen size beds if you are a couple and looking for some privacy. Kitchen is well equipped. Walking distance from I Site which is an advantage. Not a quiet a place.

I spent 6 days here and I met beautiful people, I'm leaving Rotorua with lot of beautiful memories and I'm really happy. The staff it's really friendly, the beds are comfortable and the hostel it's always super clean. Totally recommend it♥️

Really nice, well situated place to stay in rotorua! Best value for money and the staff is just amazing, always here to help you or give you advice! Kitchen or some rooms may be a bit tinny but backpack always clean! The courtyard is very nice as well! I had the best time there and I would definitely come back! 😁

Right next to the bus stop, which is great. But unfortunately this street seems to be where the locals are a bit of a handful once it gets dark and had a drink and god knows what else. So be wary if your coming back late at night. Hostel was ok for one night, but wouldn’t of wanted to stay much longer. Definitely not new and modern, looks like it needs a good paint and modernising. Beds were stiff, pillow might as well not of been there. No plug socket by the beds, but there is a safe. No air con and the room got hot at night. Small fan didn’t do anything. Shower was cold, and hardly any pressure. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Excellent value for money. Very simple rooms, clean beds, clean facilities and friendly staff for a very reasonable price. Will definitely be back!

Good size double room with very comfortable bedding. Centrally located with plenty of parking, and restaurants and sights within walking distance.

My friend booked this hostel for our group of 4. My experience is good in general. However, there are two big things that concern me. 1. The bathroom/toilet is separated from most of the room. It is too cold for me just to go there to brush my teeth (today it is 2 degree in the morning). So don’t even have to mention showering would be impossible. 2. We stay in a room of 6. There is a guy who has a hygiene issue and we were suffering for the night. I know it is impossible for the hostel to control the issue #2. But for issue #2, it can be improved.

Great location. Em the manager is very friendly and it’s pretty clean. Very little fridge space so be prepared to fight for a place! Close to government gardens and food places. Double rooms are small but good enough when you are out exploring all day. No air con but have a fan.

The hostel looked relatively new and had a great layout for socializing downstairs and getting a quiet sleep upstairs. It's located right in the center of town close to many restaurants, shops, and parks. There are a fair number of single and double rooms. The whole place looked quite new. The main downsides were that the room we got had no airflow and a skylight above, but it did have a fan that helped. The bunk bed also shook to the point that I was scared it would fall over as I was getting up and down from it.

This dorm offers a lot of cool things, free pasta and free rice, free BBQs on a certain day, really cool little extras. The actual atmosphere here is great for people that like to party or socialise but not people that want to relax which could be a judge of my character but I know plenty of people that feel the same. It's quite a young hostel so I wouldn't recommend it for 30+ year olds. Still, the bed was super comfy and the stay was really pleasant! Staff were also really friendly and the rooms/showers were very clean. Great stay.

We would happily stay here again on our next adventure to Rotorua. The staff were so helpful & nice which was fantastic. The location is brilliant & close to everything we needed & places we wanted to go. The room & facilities were kept clean which was great. It does get really hot in the room if it's a warm day & no AC in our room (private double bedrooom), but we did have a fan which was ok. We would recommend staying here.

Perfect location, nice staff, free wifi, rice, pasta, tea and coffee. The people who lived here are cool as well, good bathroom and kitchen, and it's cheap!! A little bit disadvantage is there is no elevator so have to carry suitcase to second floor, I have a lots of luggage, but not the problem for me.

With it being a backpackers, our expectation wasn't the greatest, but when we got their, we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, the room was spacious and fitted with clean white sheets, the bathroom was communal but it just feels like a public pools bathroom. For $67 in central rotorua for 2 people, i cannot complain. Great value for money Really friendly hosts (Ruth👍) Thanks ☺

Last weekend I stayed at this lovely place for a couple of days and just did not want to leave - the staff is amazing and I made a lot of new friends!! :-) I stayed in a four bedded mixed dorm which was nice and everything was clean. I have had a really good time, thank you!! :-)

This is a great hostel for short-term stays with absolutely amazing and really helpful & friendly staff. The hostel is in the city centre and you can reach many places by foot. The atmosphere is great, there is a big TV in the lounge with a free Netflix account linked to it and an outdoor area where you can sit. The hostel even does free BBQs every friday which is really nice. The rooms have great and really comfy bunk beds and there is just enough space. Everything is regularly cleaned and mostly tidy. You have a fully equipped kitchen available (except forks, trust me you never find forks here) and washing machines/dryers. Unfortunately there are some minor issues like the water pressure in the showers and pretty limited space in the kitchen itself and for storing food (small fridge) but it's absolutely ok if you only stay for 1-2 weeks or so but not too optimal for long-term stays. All in all this is a great hostel, especially if you don't stay very long and I highly recommend it! You can do amazing things in Rotorua and this is the place to stay.

One of the best and lovely Backpackers I've ever been. Lot of information, near the lakes, the buses stops and with a friendly staff. Me and my girlfriend really enjoyed our stayed in the Backpackers. Not to mention the price that was fair enough.

One of the really clean backpackers I've stayed in NZ so far (been to about 5 so far). I've had a good sleep, but just remember to bring along ear plugs to make sure. Front desk is very helpful in providing information on where to go too.

Good location near iSite, just along Fenton St. Pros: good internet and available for both phone and laptop. Cons: rooms can be hot and cramped, some fans not working, curfew on laundry facility/services.

The staff was amazing. The place needs a good cleaning. While afraid to sit on the chair in our room or walk without shoes, the bed was clean.

Location was perfect. Facilities were fine for the price. The big dorm i was in had 1 tiny window, hardly any ventilation and smelled badly of sweat and body odor. I didn't like that, but other than that was fine

The sleeping place and the kitchen was good for the price but the toilets/showers were dirty. For one or two days it's ok to stay there but for a longer time I would choose another one.

Friendly staff and free bbq on a friday. No free parking during the day and the kitchen was not very large. Mattress on beds was not very comfortable and there was not much room between the ceiling and the top bunk, so if you are not short you will bang your head sitting up.

Location is quite central which allows you to walk to many attractions incl. Lake Rotorua, I-Site and Kuirau Park. The are few eateries nearby too. Parking is by the roadside and you need to pay during weekdays. Room is clean and toiletries are provided. Receptionist is friendly and helpful. Kitchen is a little small. Overall, i am satisfied with the stay.

It wasn’t the best backpackers but it was ok... the kitchen was a bit messy and the showers were pretty bad... you can’t control the temperature of the water and as I was there in winter it could have been a bit hotter... other than that it was ok

Place was a bit dated, but clean, staff were friendly, only stayed here because the motels were booked or way expensive, I would definitely stay here again though

Very helpful staff who helped us get in and out in the middle of the night. The location is perfect. Just downtown with banks, restaurants, and the spa all right down the street.

Arrived 48 hrs late. They gave me a room for 2 nights. Big kitchen gets crowded. Restaurants on the block, which is, as advertised, next to bus stop.

This is what I'd call a place to crash for a few nights at most. It is centrally located but it is showing the wear. It's not a large place but it's decent option for a a bit and nothing more.
