R.A real old cultural classic. The linen is spotless. Shared bathrooms are clean as are the rooms. The locals very friendly. But you dont stay here for the facilities.. not cute, not that comfy. Real basic. 3 stars for trying.
J.The staff here are amazing and super friendly. The locals in the bar were a great bunch of people. The food was incredible! I have literally never seen a steak that big before anywhere I have eaten. Definitely looking forward to my next visit.
B.Its average so I give it 2 and a half stars not 3, you might get good staff some days others not so lucky, food there is hearty they can have 4 stars for that area alone, but the toilets can do with a good spruce up.

The single room was clean and tidy. Heater was in the room certainly required. Toilet and bathroom down the hall. Hot water took forever to come through.
The attached bar and restaurant was great. Friendly locals, great staff, roaring fire and very large meals.
Definitely I would stay here again

Went for dinner with family from the south island. Everyone enjoyed their food, were very impressed with the food, the quality and the price.

N.Stayed here twice last week on way to and back from Wellington. Very good value, newly carpeted in room, new wash basins, very clean and nice staff, though pillows could be better. Restaurant attached does good food.
C.Cozy, warm, electric blankets, heater. Super comfortable room and despite what a lot of reviews say it’s super quiet. The only noise we heard was from the road and the trucks stop rolling through around 10pm anyway. Great value! We’ll definitely stay again.
b.Clean fresh linen, comfortable bed, shower had awesome pressure, felt like we stepped back in time in this historic building. Staff member Raylene was very understanding as we arrived very late in the evening. Would definitely stay here again 👍🏼

E.Great little place for when you are travelling. Has a pub downstairs with good food for the price and wonderfully friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Hotel rooms are what you expect for the price, nice to have a few drinks before bed too. Definitely come back again.

S.Great stay between Taupo and Welly - affordable and clean rooms, friendly staff, cheap food (delicious, huge home cooked roast dinner) and beer! The bar is downstairs and was noisy until late in the night but it was a Saturday night so expected and once they closed it was quiet, other than that no complaints!
