K.Clean, warm studio unit just what we needed after hours on the road. Awesome shower. Funky 70s decor. Noise & vibrations from passing trucks - thanks for the ear plugs which got rid of almost all the noise. Value for money
m.Such a comfy little motel, easy to find and the owners are very friendly and helpful. They helped us out during covid with somewhere to stay over night. The room as clean and very comfy, with its own little kitchenette. I would definitely recommend this lovely motel to anyone travelling in the area.
L.The motel is clean but dated. I felt like we had fallen back the the early 70's. The major negative was the sound of trucks throughout the night. This place would benefit from double glazing.and better curtains.
J.The receptionist was really friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy. However we got there was a cot but when we got there we got told to use the couch for our 6 month old. Luckily we had our porta cot with us.
S.Very pleasant experience. My first time driving 4+ hours and it was nice to be greeted by super friendly staff. The room was definitely worth my money. It was noted that there was limited cookin facilities so i didnt expect much but there was a stove top as well as a microwave and fridge which was helpful. The staff were also very helpful. Overall, i loved my stay and would highly recommend this place to others.
S.The guy on the desk was super helpful. Had trouble getting the air con to work. He came over, no trouble, and sorted out the settings.
There were wee containers of milk, margarine and spreads which we really appreciated. Decent dilmah tea also.

M.Excellent value for money and a very clean motel. Stayed one night and slept really well. The walls seem to be well insulated and I didn't hear any other guests or the road. The room had all the utensils and pots you may need plus kettle (no lime scale at all!), microwave and toaster. Fresh milk in the fridge as well as tea and coffee. Friendly owner to top it off :)
S.This motel is too cute for words. Definitely 60's design but super clean and coolest part is that we arrived late at night, automatic system presented us with keys and left early next morn and simply dropped the keys into a box. No hassles and a brilliant sleep halfway to Wellington. Will see you next time Safari Motel!!
M.Hi. Stayed at Safari Motel last weekend, 27 April, 2019. Friendly arrival and departure. We asked for a dog friendly room, so thanks for that. Can be hard travelling with a dog. The room was really good. Comfy bedding, ands so very clean, everything. Would stay again and totally recommend to all dog travellers out there. There is a reserve behind, where you can walk your dog. Thanks from Luigi too : )
D.Spotless and tidy. Older design and could do with a new mattress and a refresh in the bathroom and kitchen. But great price, very nice people and the room is well looked after. I would definitely come back.
V.What a fantastic little motel! I've stayed at places from Northland to Bluff, and this one is by far the best low-medium budget accommodation I've found. Everything was clean but homey, the shower was high-pressure, and the bed felt even nicer than my one at home. My only complaint is that I had to get lost to find this little oasis!
C.Late at night, too tired to travel further, no problem. This is the 2nd time we found ourselves in this situation. The booking process through the automatic machine outside the office was very easy to use. The room was very clean and tidy and had sufficient inside to make our stay comfortable. Sure, it is not the "Ritz'' but neither is the price. CLEAN, TIDY, COMFORTABLE, AND VERY WELL PRICED. WELL DONE TO THE TEAM/MANAGMENT.
L.It was warm ( effective heat pump) clean staff polite and efficient about 50% of the unit upgraded bit it the 50%that matter's quite good value and I actually like to hear a train in the night but noise not bad actually good experience
R.We have been staying at the Safari Motel for work purposes over the last month. The management are good to work with. The accomadation however is small and outdated but clean and comfortable. Not sure of why the name is called Safari no theme in the rooms or any thing to do with big game about the area?
L.Cheap accomodation - heater in bathroom and a great heatpump to kerp you warm. Lovely bed with good quality sheets and towels. Did have trouble with the tv though.
D.I am a regular returning guest so obviously have no complaints. Pleasant and helpful staff. Rooms clean. Fair value.

J.Spent a lot of time here between travelling Auck - Wellington when I was on the road. Awesome place, easy parking and getting in and out. Walking distance to all the shops. Right next to the lake. Cool.
J.Great place to stop and sleep. The manager was extremely helpful and the rooms are somewhat dated but very clean. I would definitely recommend this place between Rotorua and Wellington.

S.We stayed 1 night it had a double bed and kettle and microwave and a stove top really good shower pressure ,shower head was low but I am tall so I get that offen it had a heat pump in the room and TV with free view we were happy with our stay for the price we paid it was good for a night
There was one issue within half an hour of being in the room a pretty decent spider was walking on my husband's leg we know we are safe regarding bites and stuff but I was worried about our baby getting bitten 🤪 it's definitely something I will remember in the future when making bookings with a baby
(new mum) but comsiconsid this is a small town countyc motel with trees and bushes around the whole place this is bound to happen eventually.
