The room was very clean and tidy as well as all the shared facilities like kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. All facilities are exactly what I needed, and the beds are comfy, and the rooms are quiet for good night sleep.
Prime location!! You'll find yourself in the heart of the city centre. As per the name "Art house is full of beautiful paintings done by the owner lady. Also, She is so caring and helpful with excellent service. Plus, there is a recreation area with heaps of interesting books and TV.
Overall, great experience. Would come back again.
r.I loved this place, so colourful!♡ Room and kitchen were very clean and good organized, with a lot of space for your own stuff. The bathroom was tidy as well but with not enough space in the showers, but you can survive. The staff is friendly and the locations is perfect, near bus stops, shops and city centre.
J.Super nice hostel! Not too big and with a great vibe. Very friendly and helpful staff members and really good bathroom facilities and kitchen. Just a short walk away from the promenade and for those looking for work they have offers and information hanging out at the blackboard next to the reception.

This place really needs a quiet time at 11pm or something.
Rest of the hostel is okay(ish). Its clean and staff is very friendly.

N.Was a really good experience. Clean and tidy rooms.
People need to learn to follow rules (like not cooking fish), and they need to be enforced. Floors in the bathroom were constantly wet, which is gross and dangerous.
But other than that, it was good, will probably stay again.
D.Very clean and quiet. Close to the bus stop and the center of town. The kitchen is fantastic. The staff is all part time, but are very friendly. The matress were the only problem, I could feel every spring, however I don't know if that was just my mattress.
L.Very cute. Me and my partner really enjoyed our stay, and the managers were absolutely lovely. Everything was neat and tidy, bed was comfy but it squeaked when I turned over in bed so I kept waking myself up accidentally by moving in my sleep.
N.Had a bit of a negative first impression. I had booked for two weeks and upon arrival, I was told that they didn't have enough room keys so I wouldn't get a key for my own room until a couple days later, and I was not given wifi until I asked for it. Having said that, the manager Shauna is a really lovely lady and the location is quite convenient. Because the hostel does not allow alcohol on the premises (something to be aware of), it tends to attract many working people and was very quiet at night.
E.The room was stuffy, the heat pump was very loud, the woofers (staff) were uninterested in our experience. We were warned multiple times not to do drugs or we'd have the police called on us (and we weren't sketchy looking, tired maybe not that bad!). We paid decent money to stay in the double room but we felt like an unwelcome burden upon the workers. Luckily we were there to sleep, eat breakfast and go. Pillows were very comfortable and there is copious, slightly creepy art everywhere. Excellent kitchen. Poor location.
C.We love staying at The Arthouse. We come every year for a cheerleading competition and provided we book in advance it is a good place to bring a large group of people. The shared kitchen is large and has a good amount of cutlery, crockery and cookware. It can get a bit crowded if a few people are cooking at the same time but that is to be expected. The shared bathroom is ok. Would be ideal if there were a few more showers. Bunk beds are fine. A little awkward to get into and pretty creaky ... But again in a backpackers that is noting new. Our room had a heat pump which was good during the winter weather. This location is handy to lots of things in Tauranga and an easy drive to The Mount.
W.The room, kitchen and environment are very good. The staff is the best in rotorua. But The only thing that could be better are the bathroom, not too many and together (man and woman)
N.Is one of the best backpackers I've visited as it's your own closet to store your belongings also you can lock it for that peace of mind that no one will still your stuff. Also it has next to the kitchen your own storage to safe your food. Also has so many refrigerators and freezers.
Y.I just stay for a night, I had a good night. The showers and toilets clean, also the kitchen. Tha environment is quiet.
D.My experience in the Arthouse hostels was gorgeous , friendly staff, well-kept hostels, my backpacking experience started in the Arthouse hostels, with a little English. I am a Italian pizza maker and made myself known by making pizza !!. I lived in the hostel for 9 months and will be back, because I love the ambiente and the people that work in the place.
F.Nice and clean. My room only had a sky light as a window with no curtains so it got verry light verry early. Bit far from things to do, like te beach

J.I would say this is the best hostel in Tauranga CBD. The receptionist, India, was very friendly and helpful in explaining the do's and don'ts. A well deserved 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Excelente ubicación para los que recién llegamos a Bay of plenty especialmente cuando venís en busca de la temporada de kiwis ya que ellos mismos te proveen la información para conseguir trabajo. El lugar es muy lindo desde cómo está decorado hasta la distribución. El personal muy predispuesto a ayudar. Impecable la atención de Nico Russo (siempre sonriente y con la mejor onda para que la estadía sea como en casa!!!) Luján y su esposo también muy amables y serviciales.
