We really enjoyed our stay overnight. The room was CLEAN, modern and very spacious. Loved the complimentary snacks, and tea, coffee, toiletries were well stocked. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, and very affordable for comfort and luxury. Will definitely stay again 💯

This hotel had a few little touches that really elevated my stay. I loved the complimentary snacks – a perfect mix of sweet and savory. Plus, the fridge was stocked with cold water, and the hot beverage station was a dream come true! With a wide range of teas, coffees, and even hot cocoa. Overall, a fantastic stay!

I stayed here with a group of four adults and while there were some positives, we were left disappointed by a few key aspects. The receptionist was lovely—friendly and welcoming—and the beds were quite comfortable. However, the amount of tea and coffee provided was insufficient. We were only given 2 sachets of tea and coffee each, along with not enough milk, which wasn't enough for four people. The room itself had a dull, brown decor and lacked any real character. We also had no table to sit at, which made it difficult to enjoy a meal/drink in the room. Overall, the pictures we saw online didn’t reflect the room we received, and that was a letdown.

The room was spacious and well-equipped, resembling a serviced apartment with amenities such as toaster, microwave, cutleries. However, it offered only minimal toiletries and lacked typical hotel facilities like gym, spa/sauna, or valet parking. It was located about a 10-minute drive from Mount Maunganui.

TBH one of the best rooms I've ever got for $200. The spa was great, the room was spacious, had a balcony too. Huge mirror, mini fridge. I didn't need to use room service but I have no doubt it would have been great. There is a paid parking in the building that we can access after we pay for it. I have zero complaints.

Stayed here two nights 11 Jan - 13 Jan 2023. Complex was clean and well presented. Car park was great. Customer service and Reception were helpful and approachable. Would definitely stay here again. We were a family of 6 adults and a baby of six months. Three rooms, all as described above.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable, very nice bathroom with walk in shower and bath. Super comfortable bed and very quiet , hardly heard anyone else in the building. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the excellent, easy access , secure car parking is great. Will definitely stay here again.

This boutique hotel is right in the heart of Tauranga. Walking distance to the water front, city centre and main shopping areas, restaurants etc, great location with multi levels car parks at rear. Clean, cosy and spacious room. Friendly service. We arrived late in the morning prior to check in time. The front desk lady kindly checked us in.

Really good room, balcony not very clean. Am generally not a fan of artificial flowers and plants but if you do have them you need to "dust" them as opposed to watering real ones. Loved the bath.

My first time here and have got to say it has been great. I am writing this while I am still here. Finished 1 night here and have another one left. From the time we arrived, the front desk staff to all other staff were really friendly and fantastic. Everything was explained really well and the welcome drink was lovely. The room is really great, very clean, tidy and well maintained. There was a kettle, toaster and microwave and tea, coffee, hot chocolate sachets, some milk for our convenience. Cutlery and a couple of plates included. We got our rooms on a summer deal which included a hot cooked breakfast which was amazing. We had booked our breakfast for a later time in the morning but changed our minds and called reception who were absolutely obliging and right away changed our breakfast to an earlier time. All in all a great stay. Also very close to a lot of shops and food places. Sad to see so many shops closed though. Thank you for our lovely stay. Will definitely be back!!

This place is AMAZING!!! Tidy, clean, fancy and friendly. Complimentary wine on arrival to room, located right in town so no need to drive anywhere! Room is perfect and view of old rail bridge across the harbour is fantastic. Couldn't be happier. Bed super comfy, and let's face it, that's all you need in a bed for the night.

Definitely deserves 5 stars. Stayed here for one night on a weekend away to Tauranga and was very impressed with all aspects. The check in experience was superb. The person checking us in was very friendly, she explained everything I needed to know in a polite and clear manner. Secure car parking is $10 per night and has secure entrance to the hotel. The location is great, being in the heart of Tauranga, though it is a little disappointing to see many vacant shops in the city. Hopefully the city will be revitalised in the coming years. The strand, where most restaurants are located, was a 7 minute walk away. The room was a very decent size, and it looked over the city and the bay. The wall length mirrors on the wardrobe and the decorations impressed us. Very happy with how clean the room was as well as the little touches such as milk in a reusable glass container, rather than a disposable carton - great to see the hotel taking sustainability seriously. Overall I enjoyed my short stay here. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff are friendly and genuinely care about customer service. Will definitely stay here next time I am in Tauranga.

Simple extras done thoughtfully and well. We had a room for two on the top floor, which was clean and attractively furnished. There was a glass of wine each in the room when we arrived (you get the choice of a merlot and a chardonnay before you book in). The staff were professional and helpful. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had a spa bath. There was milk in the fridge, and a French press coffee maker with a packet of ground coffee that is the right size. The room had reliable internet. The carpark is easily accessible. By itself this would have been a good room with a nice view towards the water. The selling point for me is that the owners have thought about the small things that make the room, and your stay there, that little bit nicer and easier. I thoroughly recommend the Hotel on Devonport, particularly at its price point.

I’ve stayed here several times before and its never let me down. A lovely place with good views of the city or water and best of all a modern clean room to call home for a nite or two. We had a lovely spacious rooms at a great rate while in town for a wedding. A welcome drink on arrival is always a great start to a weekend away right! The staff here are really friendly and helpful... we had one lady on Friday night who just made everything perfect, she had. A great sense of humor and when we raised two minor issues, nothing was too much trouble... I really can’t speak more highly of her I just wish I had her name!! The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 was we had a bit of s water pressure issue in our shower... one thing that does my head in is a bad shower. It was isolated to the room as I’ve never had the issue before. I highly recommend this establishment...a must stay when in Tauranga.

Huge family rooms with relatively new decor. The room is well equipped with toaster and microwave should you need them. The bathroom is massive too with timber flooring. The only thing you need to get use to if you choose to stay here is the scheduled freight trains that seem to run pass multiple times a day.

Good parking facilities for guests and nice spacious rooms. I would have given it 5 out of 5 stars except for the downside of noise from the development and potentially the road/ railway nearby. We had a lovely stay at Hotel on Devonport. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the first off complimentary wine was very welcome and an excellent drop. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was fantastic. Organic toiletries and make up remover were a nice touch. Near full hotel kitchen available. Nearby takeaway room service is special! Only thing we regret is not being able to stay longer.

Went last weekend, had a room filled with the smell of cigarette's smoke. Thought they might have left the window open but, was shocked when we found tissue stuffed up the smoke alarm...wierd nasty...nasty guests😳but cleaning staff should have notice the smell before any new check-in. They changed our room immediately, both cleaning ladies & receptions apologised...gave us 4 complimentary ojs...thanks for the nice gesture, would have given 5...room is clean & comfy thou👍

It is evident that the majority of the building is actually for permanent residenants, a small portion of the rooms being for the 'hotel'. The front of house staff are not trained, they ignore the phone when I called to enquire a out the parking. The reason given that they were busy with another guest, they did not know I was actually standing out the front of the building watching her ignore the phone. When offered our welcome drink, she did not ask what time we would like it. Rather just had it delivered at a random time to the room. No bag carrier available. Room keys did not work, other error by the front of house staff. Room was clean to a sub standard with dust on the appliances. In room menu was a joke with toast costing $10. TV was an old 32 inch with no casting ability or Bluetooth. Hotel would have been acceptable in the early 90's.

Be aware: Tauranga doesn't have Post Night-out eateries so you may have to raid the room snacks...

Had a beautiful room with a balcony and two huge beds. It was extremely spacious, very clean and tidy, and had all the utilities I'd need. I felt like the staff were overly kind and accommodating. I loved my 4-night stay here and would definitely return.
