J. B.Lovely owners, we felt very welcomed as soon as we arrived. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing information about the penguins (it was a special experience). Room was quite comfortable and lovely views of roses, garden and the bay! Quick drive to local stores and eatery too. It was a nice spot to stop by before heading back to Christchurch. Thank you for the stay!
A.Would've been a 5 but the comments around having kids was not welcoming. The dog was lovely at times but would go inside alot and scare the kids, it bit our 8yr old boy and when we told the people at checkout they said Kids and Animals are rubbish.
We booked and said we had kids and when we first got there they said they don't allow kids in the Villa but will allow this time.
The Villa was very spacious and comfortable. Views over the bay were lovely. This would be an ideal place for couples, just not kids.
J.Only stayed the one night but the view was amazing and had little beautiful touches in the room like the giant flower made from towels, stunning views of the beach and harbour, and super friendly staff highly recommend
P. P.Motels owners were Lovely and Friendly, we were greeted by Blaze and Lucky [ Furry Friends ] very cute and Friendly too. Very comfortable room, train just over back fence but never heard it unless we were outside listening for it. Handy Location. Lovely Views. Bed was super comfortable.
J. P.Easily the nicest place we've stayed at in Aotearoa - wish we could have stayed another couple of nights. The rooms are massive and the bathroom with spa bath was amazing. The mattresses are really soft - not for everyone but I liked it. Our room had a shared back porch with views out onto the beach. The hosts were so welcoming and gracious. Cannot recommend highly enough.

A. M.We had a fabulous stay at Baywatch Motor Lodge! The host was very friendly - I enjoyed the chat both at check in and check out. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the little touches like the toiletries they use and the towel decoration. A highlight was the sunrise looking out to Caroline Bay and the trains going past.
We would recommend to others and we will definitely be staying again.
R. S.We were fortunate to have accomodation here on 11th and 12th April during our visit to New Zealand South Island. Ray and Debbie were the most friendly and helpful hosts. Unit was so lovely, well equipped and comfortable. We had an unfortunate event when my husband went for a walk and lost his way, Ray and Debbie stepped in and were absolutely amazing with their assistance. We can never thank them enough.
C. D.An easy to find, central location that has been updated to be spacious yet comfy. Good beds and great showers, everything was super clean.
The hosts were so very warm and welcoming, making sure we were happy and helped with anything we needed. The two wee dogs were friendly and a great joy for our boys to play with.
While the building is old, with thin motel walls, we all slept very well and had a great night.
M. C.Stayed 1 night during Easter. We were greeted by the hosts, really lovely people, who offered us to park our motorcycle in their garage (which is always a lovely gesture!). I Paid a wee bit more for a Seaview which was beautiful.
Our room was well appointed. The bathroom was a bit dated and it was difficult to find the correct temperature initially. I really liked the soap/shampoo/conditioner!
Overall we had a lovely stay and would stay again!
N. R.Amazing rooms with everything you could possibly need. But the walls are so thin and you can hear everything that goes on above and beside, which is a big downside.

M. p.The split level rooms with electric lazy boys seats are spacious and extremely comfortable. While it is located near the beach and restaurants it is unfortunately also next to the motorway and railroad track. Highly recommend this if you are a sound sleeper. Light sleepers should avoid.
H. D.Terrible road noise alllll night but we were in unit 1, would've been nice to know beforehand. Rooms were warm and spacious though. Also no view unless you're upstairs from 1 window lol

B.Good place to stay, a bit noisy with a train track on one side and the main highway on the other. I've given the rooms 3 stars because they are exceptionally clean but they could be renovated a bit. Service was good and friendly. One highlight was the two small friendly dogs. The view though was spectacular, looking out across Caroline Bay.

k. w.Warm welcome from hosts. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious>. Road noise at night a bit of an issue but you expect that with the location. Unfortunately walls are paper thin and you can hear what the people above you watch on TV etc and hear them traipse across the floor in the wee smalls.
Would however definetly stay there agin

Noble hounds visiting me and saying hello as well!|Had an ocean view room, roomy, all mod cons, so so neat and tidy.|Had same breakfast here I had at Novetel Auckland airport and Debbies brekkie left them for dead!|Looking at going back to ride around NZ next summer and if I do, will most definitely stay here again
L. P.Such a lovely friendly couple with 2 beautiful friendly dogs. We had our wee dog with us and they totally welcomed him. We did let them know in advance that we had a dog. I also had mucked up the booking and and we were a couple of days late but it wasnt a problem. Definitely be our new place to stay when in timaru.

Beautiful clean facilities including full cooking facilities and spa bath, kids had a blast running around with Blaze, the wee dog that lives there. Warm family atmosphere - Ray and Debbie are so helpful and their staff are just as awesome. Loved our stay here!
C. L.185 NZD is greatly overpriced. The bathroom is very outdated, cracks in the wall, drains stink because there's obviously a blockage somewhere and the trains right at the back door woke me at 3.30am. |The room was very clean however and had a 2 seater lounge with recliner. But for the price, I woukd say look elsewhere. It's big town and there seem to be many other accommodation choices.

I let them know when I was expecting to arrive and the had turned on the electric blanket andclosed the curtains and put the heater on..Ray offered to get me breakfast the next morning..which i declined as i had a very early flight..i will stay there again .the room was spotlessly clean and everything that i would have required was there

B.The only place around that had a reception open past 10pm for a relatively cheap price. The elderly man waited for us to check in when we called around 9:30pm to get a room. We arrived around 10:45pm and checked us into the studio room. He even gave us free milk. It was better than expected. Prior to check in, we saw the photos on the internet but it didn't look enticing. The room itself included amenities such as utensils, refrigerator, microwave and satellite TV. Furthermore it was clean and very large. When checking out, the elderly lady was such a sweetheart. We had small talk about the recent Christchurch shooting and gun control. She recommend a brunch place for us to visit in town called Sopheze which was amazing. I will definitely come back if I am ever in Timaru and will book the villa instead. Pro tip: book with them directly and not through an online travel agency (Expedia, Agoda, etc) for cheaper prices. The only complaint I have is the road noise and occasional trains but for the price I can endure that.
