A.This place is simply beautiful. I stayed in the pirate boat-tree house. So carefully customised! Everywhere you looked there was a pirate-themed detail. The bed was super comfy! There's also an amazing bath tub heated with fire wood out in the bushes. At night you can hear kiwis and all sort of nocturnal wild life. The whole property is huge. On my walk around I saw a deer, heard wild pigs. There were also wild goats! All the complex is made from recycled/rescued materials. It is for sure a place to check out for it's authenticity and especially for the hospitality. Volunteers and owner couldn't be more lovely. There is a kitchen with everything you need and a sunset spot that is breathtaking. I will definitely come back!
S.Wuhuu, what a place. I was presenting here at one of the stages during the New Zealand Spirit Festival 2019. What a celebration. A festival of the people, for the people. So well organised by everyone, thanks to the Generosity of the owners of the retreat. Amazing decision to allow this gathering to take place here. The views to the surrounding landscape is so stunning and the serene nature holds the perfect atmosphere to be connected with mother earth. Sensational!

N.Great eco friendly retreat in the country, close to Muriwai beach. The pirate ship "Hinemoana" is my favourite. Hard bed but good sleep looking up to the stars

C.(Translated) My stay at tanglewood retreat was unbelievably idyllic and beautiful.
The design of each cottage is incredible - I liked the pirate ship tree house best. With loving details (including rum) you can immerse yourself in a dream world.
Pizza oven, a "hotpool", the symbols on the ground - very original and beautiful are also the other small houses, which we were allowed to look at briefly. Surrounded by endless fields and small forests, the retreat is a small oasis of orchards and vines that invites you to come down or socialize with friends.
Yoga lessons with Stacey are great!
The retreat is a bit off the beaten path but a dirt road but easy to reach- Attention in the approach with Google Maps on the easier navigation is currently being worked on.
The owners Stacey and Ricky take great care of their guests - tips for surrounding beaches or for a good pub are, of course, in addition to nice talks.

Mein Aufenthalt bei tanglewood retreat war unglaublich idyllisch und wunderschön.
Das Design der einzelnen Häuschen ist unglaublich- am besten gefiel mir das Piratenschiff-Baumhaus. Mit liebevollen Details (inklusive Rum) lässt sich hier in eine Traumwelt eintauchen.
Pizzaofen, einen „Hotpool“, die Symbole am Boden- sehr originell und wunderschön sind auch die anderen Häuschen, die wir uns kurz ansehen durften. Umgeben von unendlichen Feldern und kleinen Wäldern ist das retreat eine kleine Oase mit Obstgarten und Weinreben, die zum runterkommen oder Zusammensein mit Freunden einlädt.
Yogastunden mit Stacey sind super!
Das retreat liegt ein bisschen ab vom Schuss- über einen Schotterweg aber leicht zu erreichen- Achtung bei der Anfahrt mit GoogleMaps- an der einfacheren Navigation wird gerade gearbeitet.
Die Eigentümer Stacey und Ricky kümmern sich super nett um ihre Gäste- Tipps für umliegende Strände oder für ein gutes Pub sind neben netten Gesprächen selbstverständlich.
