S.I travel across NZ for business, and so far this is the top 3 hotels/motels I have stayed in. Stayed overnight on the 11 Dec 2021. The staff were super helpful, friendly and professional, and the room was well equipped and tidy. Location is great, just a few min drive to the ferry terminal if that’s your plan.

P. B.Lovely big, clean room (mattress was a bit firm, but that is a preference thing). Quiet and peaceful corridors. Tasty breakfast. But main stand out is the staff - who are friendlier and more helpful than the average by some distance. Highly recommended.

p. S.A very good place to stay in Wellington Central. The rooms are neat and the mini bar has very good selection of wine and liqor. The breakfast menu is also good. Wpuld definitely recommend staying here, if you are visiting for business or for pleasure.

B.The location is mint, access to taxis was perfect, staff were absolutely incredible (and I mean every staff member!), the room was so clean and well stocked, the fridge was full with a great selection of drinks and the gym and pool were fantastic!!! We got up for the Anzac dawn service and the staff had made the effort to set up tea and coffee and pastries which we would have been well in to if we hadn’t slept in so long!!! A 10/10 from me!!

S. T.My partner and I had the ultimate experience staying at the Bolton Hotel. As we had an early flight and a check in time of 3pm we went to the front counter to request a space to leave our luggage. The front counter staff checked their system and saw there was a spare room which we could take immediately. We were so grateful for the flexibility and were amazed when we saw that we had been upgraded to a queen suite. We would like to extend our gratitude to the lovely woman who was on the front desk on the morning of Saturday 26th of June. You were a star. For anyone travelling to Wellington I would strongly recommend staying at the Bolton Hotel.

The selection was okay but not nearly as impressive as the photo, cakes were definitely not fresh and we had one pudding less than the table next to us, along with none of the flowers of dried fruit decorations. Really could have been so much more. Sausage roll was nice though.

I've stayed in some of the best hotels around the world and honestly the little old Bolton just blew me away for it's attention to detail when looking after us. My wife mentioned to me "just randomly that she liked the look of some chocolate things in the cafe downstairs and we got to our room and one of the staff had overheard her, got it sent to our room with a card saying we thought you might like this. And that's just one of the impressive little things. Amazing. Highly recommend staying here.
E. C.Staff were amazing and the layout and general feel off the suite were great however I only give a 3 star as the beds were terrible. The mattress looked and felt like it was at least 20 years old which was quite disappointing considering we checked into a 4star hotel.

L. T.I staid here with my family, in a spacious 2 room suite. Well laid out and equiped, quiet (no loud fans, fridges) and comfortable seats and beds. Great views too.
The room was clean apart from some dust higher up. Five stars so far.
I’d avoid the restaurant for breakfast. Service was slow, my full breakfast was disappointing (boiled eggs on soup spoons look great but turn out really impractical). No butter, no napkins, dirty cutlery and toasted muesli that seemed to have come straight out of the carton and was served with a minimal amount of yoghurt made me just want to leave again.
The breakfast is definitely no match for the rest of the experience. One star taken off..

We went past on our way out and I noticed the dome was gone.
The staff overheard me, and I arrived back to my room with a chocolate dome on my counter with sweet note.

P. K.Located at the parliament end of town, so relatively quiet on weekends. The room we had was small, but functional and well furnished. The only fault was a crease in the carpet. Everything else in the room was great. The staff were amazing, nothing was any trouble at all. They looked after our luggage while we went out for the day and had good umbrellas to borrow for the rain.

T.From the moment we stepped in the door until we left again the staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The staff are lovely and the rooms are self contained apartments, even a washing machine. Room very good for what we paid. We had a lovely stay here and can't wait to return.

J. L.Fantastic hotel for our brief stay in Wellington. Had a 2 bedroom suite for my family of 4 for the same price as a tiny standard hotel room in New York! Loved having a washer in our room. Shower was great and there's a nice selection of toiletries. Helpful staff gave recommendations for the area.
Gym is small but has what you need. Pool is a little chilly but the kids still had fun (it's meant for lap swimming I think) and the hot tub was nice too.

Situated in a side street off The Terrace, means that the hotel is a bit secluded. Just the thing after a hard days travel and meetings.
T.We had a coffee in the lounge area when we arrived back from dinner which was ok but it was like being in someone's front room as it was quite small. A wide choice of rooms. Beautifully furnished and great location. Thanks Bolton for making my stay in Wellington a great experience.

Large clean rooms but could do with a little maintenance (shower head was cracked and water sprayed across the room) we were on level 6 on motorway side of hotel and it was still very quiet. This was our second stay here and would definitely use again.

M. T.If you've chosen this place for the "heated" pool. You're going to be disappointed. When I rang reception and said why isn't the pool heated they said it's heated to room temperature........ I replied saying it's an indoor pool of courses it's room temperature but it's not been heated so how can you say it's a heated pool?
Z. Z.Excellent self-contained units with cooking facilities, a generous en suite bath plus shower, and a small living area. Spotless with modern decor, the hotel is a nice area with a handful of nearby takeaway places and small restaurants. The CBD is nearby, and other landmarks are a short stroll away. The hotel staff have impeccable manners as well as being friendly and helpful. The Bolton Hotel is no more than 20 minutes drive from the airport.
J. D.Comfortable, upscale boutique hotel in downtown Wellington. Stayed here 8 yes ago - loved it - had to stay here again on my return visit! Wonderful, friendly, efficient staff members make you feel welcome with their first "Hello!" Excellent rooms - mini-apartments, actually - quiet, well- appointed, slept like a baby! Pricier than some other hotels in the area but how much is your comfort worth if you're staying someplace more than 2 nights?! The Bolton is TOP SHELF!!

It was a lovely walk to see the TePapa Museum and also so near the Botanical gardens exit. We walked the gardens route from the cable car ride. Lively shopping street very near the hotel but everything closes early in New Zealand
T.What a pleasant surprise to check into this Hotel and have everyone greet us like old friends. Good location to the waterfront and all sites that Wellington has to offer. We were early for check in so they stored our luggage until our room was ready. The area is convenient for walking to ***y restaurants, Art Gallery etc.

J. H.Stayed here for business trip for 2 weeks. It has all the basic stuff, food is good but the washing machine keeps breaking down. It would be better if the hotel had offered free laundry to make it up since I already paid for the laundry in the suite.
J. “.We had a lovely stay at the Bolton Hotel from February 27, 2019 to March 1, 2019. Terrific location. The rooms were comfortable and complete with a cozy robe and a mini bar to make a hot toddy before heading off to sleep (we found this to be a great help with jet lag). My flat iron fried in our power converter (which was odd because our phones charged without a problem) and the concierge located one for my use during our stay...top notch! We would definitely stay here again if we are ever fortunate enough to return to beautiful Wellington.

G.We stayed in a large studio type apartment with 2 double beds a large adjoining bathroom, a well equipped kitchen including washing machine and dish washer, stove and oven, a medium sized 4 seat dining table and a small but adequate TV cum lounge area. The bedroom also featured a TV. In a nut shell the apartment was the best value we have had in all our considerable travels with an excellent location, super attentive and helpful staff. Very highly recommended for a short or long term stay.
R.I love staying here on my trips to Wellington because of their wonderful staff, comfortable amenities, and convenient location. Their dining is excellent and prices are comparable with other establishments. I really like their staff and have always been more than helpful with directions and coordination of transportation. They are tucked conveniently out of the heavy traffic but always an easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants.

S. M.Comfortable but corporate. My family of three adults took a 2 bedroom apartment. Soft mattresses. The kitchenette was adequate but needed some revisions: stained chopping boards were a bit gross, and the range of crockery, cutlery and glassware is a bit limited (coffee plungers are small). The view over the cemetery and Bolton street is South-West but pleasant, though on the 4th floor there is strong exposure to the Sofitel Hotel opposite and the street, so it's not fully private with the curtains open. The space felt smaller than the photos suggest and not especially upmarket, though inoffensive. Internet is free but requires browser authentication and frequent re-connection, which gets dull quickly. The minibar is only for those on an expense account and the restaurant pricing is a bit sharp; longer-term visitors will soon find alternatives nearby. The position and facilities, as they are, best suit business and political visitors. Unfortunately for our family vacation, the weekend pricing isn't demand-adjusted and we couldn't find comparable quality accommodation with a similar layout in the more social part of Wellington (around Courtenay Place and Te Aro). There are still gaps in the market.

Sooooo good that I returned for lunch on my last day. Thumbs up to the 2 staff for their very attentive and service with a smile, especially on 2nd Jan.
R. S.Still a favourite to stay in Wellington. The iPad “in-house menus” still confuse me a bit and the slightly “disorganised” bar/restaurant could really be improved but overall you offer excellent attentive service and a great “inner-city hotel” vibe. Well trained and friendly staff.
We had a premier suite which had been recently renovated. Very comfortable. The last time I was here in April’17, we were lucky to reserve the “Residence suite”. That is an experience from another world.
The Bolton now faces competition from the new Sofitel across the road but I’m sure, if it keeps it’s charm, it will be around for years to come. 5 stars again!

Service exceptional and staff are very helpful. The hotel is centrally place close to shops, museums, restaurants and bars. They have a parking facility at a reasonable cost.

T.I took my little girl to Wellington to see WOW, and stayed at my husband's favourite business hotel. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from Parliament and the retail stores on Lambton Quay. There is valet parking and the staff are very efficient at retreiving the vehicles.

R. W.Just Chkd in, it turns out the room we had booked is what they call "sleep and go" type of room, so expect this: not much room to hang or place your clothes, Just keep them in your luggage and also there is no in room safe, instead there's a big wasted space for coffee and tea and a fridge.
