We arrived late off the ferry in winter and the room was warm..... That's l thoughtful in itself. The place was super clean and homely.

Been coming here for years... except for last 3-4 years, especially to catch the ferry over and it was always good. But was surprised to see the showers could do with a better scrub and kitchen drawers were grubby, you could tell they hadn't been cleaned in a while. Had some accumulated food crumbs and dust etc sitting in drawers.

Denise was an absolute pleasure. From my initial email to arriving a few hours later than we had anticipated. She greeted me by name, had all the paperwork already filled out and ready for me to sign. She was very thorough when explaining our way around the site, how to access the amenities block and what was available from the restaurant and for how much longer. She is an absolute asset to the business and was a wonderful embodiment of hospitality.

This place exceeded our expectations! Celebrated my daughters 1st birthday at the on-site restaurant - Judy looked after us for the night - she was so lovely, genuinely caring and attentive and really went the extra mile to make sure we were well looked after. The food was absolutely divine!! Every bite was so tasty, excellent quality and decently priced! The room was spacious, warm, equipped with essentials and had a beautiful view of nature. It is only 10mins from Welly City in a serene location in Newlands with lots of parking available. So glad we decided on this place. Thank you for taking care of my family and making it a memorable weekend! Cheers

What I like about this place is that it is easy to find. Visible from the top of the Ngauranga hill, room to park trucks(5), and at the rear is power sites for caravans. Rooms are nice, staff friendly and good food.

We are a family 4 & were looking for accommodation close to Porirua as we were attending a Funeral. Absolutely no Motel Accommodation in Porirua due to some being used as Emergency Housing. We booked the Spa Unit. Very clean, modern, well equipped & balcony looking out to motor way. Spa was great, kids were in there more than I was. Just be extra careful when walking on the steps into the Spa Bath can be very slippery! Might be good to have a caution sign for customers. Had a meal at the Restaurant. Good menu selection, well presented, good portion size and tasty. Also free unlimited WiFi and car parking. Only issue was hot water wasn't going early in the morning. Apart from that acommodation is affordable and great location with all amenities not too far of a drive away. Would definitely recommend! We will be back😊

The campground is right opposite the bus station into the city and really conveniently located for catching an early ferry after an afternoon in the city. Staff is very friendly and wifi good. Still, a parking lot with powered places, but in a great spot.

Chose this place for its location and proximity to the ferry. Owners understand that many guests are there because of this and handily provides directions to the terminals upon check in. Clean bathrooms, and comfortable kitchen is opened 24/7. Laundry available, but the tumble dryer could be more powerful. Good stay overall, heavily recommended 👍

What a fantastic place! We had booked a Conference room (Alex room) for the weekend to use as a pop-up 'shop' as well as 2 motel rooms and were thrilled with the whole experience! The Conference facilities ticked all of our boxes, so I highly recommend this! The accommodation was top notch with new, clean rooms and all the facilities we required. Thank you to this lovely family-run business, we will be back!! :)

Great facilities, lots of parking, convenient location to all main Wellington attractions (including the ferry) without being in the busy CBD. And most importantly, very lovely friendly staff!

I am not sure I would call it 4 star (if you're looking for extreme modern but it was very comfy/homey) and I really liked the place for $138/night (queen, kitchen, bathroom). I thought it was clean and the staff were wonderful. We stayed 2 nights and it was comfy. I thought it was thoughtful too of the staff to even come in and clean the 2 personal mugs we brought with. (the motel does provide 2 cutlery, cups etc but I like bringing our own). I was happy that the room was warm too after spending much of the day in the rain! The location was convenient and it was easy/quick drive to Wellington. We did think the motel's restaurant prices were a bit high and so went up the street to the New World Plaza. We definitely will stay there again when we do our next road trip that way. I will not be shy about promoting this place to friends.

Camp site is a great location for getting the ferry to the south island. For campervans your basically in a car park off of a hotel at the end of the road. Small kitchen, 2toilets and 2showers only for men, didn't see inside the ladies. No proper dumpsite. Big green grass area with benches and friendly reception staff at check-in. I didn't stay in the hotel so can't comment there.

We recently spent 4 nights here in our motorhome. What a great location and excellent facilities available. Bus stop was at entrance to motor inn and staff, especially Jemima, were so very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay there again!

Stayed there for one night with our campervan. Very nice people but has more of a car park feeling. Very little facilities available. The reason we stayed was because you can catch the bus to the city right down the road and it’s the closest Holiday Park to the ferry. Would recommend it for one night

We have a 4WD and small caravan and have used this place 4 times now. It is so convenient for the ferry and also easy to catch a bus into the city. The facilities are clean but tired. Could do with an upgrade.

Not the most scenic for a campervan pitch - it's basically just a car park. Facilities reasonable, though the shower set up was a bit odd (impossible to keep any of the floor dry for when you step out as shower curtain in an odd place). Very easy access to Wellington centre via bus though.

I stay here often with work and have yet to find a place as nice. The staff are lovely. The place is always clean. They have great meals too. I also find it the best value compared to many others. Highly recommended.

Great location close to Wellington City, Porirua, Lower Hutt & Ferry Terminal. Very helpful, friendly staff and excellent restaurant. Meals have a home made quality with plenty of vegetables and generous serving. Very good value for money. Lounge and bar area is cosy and welcoming. A warm fire burning in winter months. Motel a little dated but clean and tidy with newly renovated bathroom. Nice green space outlook. Well set up for overnight campers with showers, laundry, kitchen & lounge. BBQ tables, also waste & water provision for campers. A bit of traffic noise from state highway below but not too bad as convenience of location outways that.

Yes, it is a car park behind the motel. But, here is the winner...it is 10 mins to both the city, and the ferry. Also, fancy a few drinks in the evening? Take the local bus from outside the campsite to town and back. $5 each for a single ticket. Recommended.

We were pleasantly surprised !! They rescued us after we were moved to another ferry and our original accommodations fell through!! We called and a very friendly April sorted us is a minute! Great dinner, a drink on a cold wet Wellington night and we slept like babies ! Thanks very much !!

This is easily the best we have stayed in. Beautifully renovated room, comfortable and well equipped. The facilities are lovely with a welcoming reception area. Although close to traffic we experienced no noise. Price was very reasonable. We would recommend this for a comfortable stay close to the city.

Stayed here recently for a week. Was a great motor inn. Staff always helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and tidy, warm and had all that we needed. Staff cleaned and replenished each day if wanted. Plenty of hot water, good water pressure, plenty of body wash/shampoo to use. Used the camper kitchen to cook on, plenty of space. Would recommend to others if asking about where to stay in Dunedin. Close to bus stop for trips into town and easy signage if driving also. Great view from balcony, and quiet from the road except in mornings and evenings when traffic is at it's peak. Good value for money, modern with the exception of no in room Wi-Fi, still a lovely place to have stayed. Thanks.

Ok there was a friendly welcome at reception and a rather nice onsite restaurant and bar. However, the main draw card for this place is its 10min travel proximity to the Wellington CBD which is made easy by the buses across the road. The Motor Inn looks fabulous from the outset but campervan stations are a carpark area at the rear. The campervan site toilets/shower facilities were substandard considering other holiday parks in other townships are much better equipped with nicer and cleaner (mold free) toilets/showers. Only two showers one of which is in the ambulant toilet. Come on Wellington?

Stayed at the Capital Gateway last night, would have stayed longer but catching Ferry to South Island today. To the warm welcome when we arrived, to the clean facilities and the amazing food in the warm cosy restaurant, it was all top notch and we would highly recommend this place to anyone. Have stayed here on a number of occaisions and it can only be described as the most pleasant, enjoyable and welcoming of all the accommodation places I stay at accross NZ. As a family owned business it has all the hallmarks of a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are just wonderful. Stay here knowing that you will be in one of the top motels in NZ.

Location was close to town for a tourist park, sites were really close together and the shower had a time that was OUTSIDE of the bathroom. After 8 minutes, it went ice cold. Kitchen wasn't very big and others were complaining that the dryer didn't work. Only okay for a quick stop over.

Absolutely awesome place to stay. Awesome view as well as hosts. Always clean and well looked after. Would definitely recommend this place for Truck or large vehicle driver's also. A+++

We visited Wellington for a family holiday. The motel is in a great location less than 15 mins away from CBD. Lovely service, friendly staff and clean rooms. It is a quiet place, perfect for relaxing.

VERY friendly, helpful staff!! We walked about 5 minutes to the bus on her recommendation. Definitely the way to get to Wellington. Also fast, easy access to the ferry

Rooms were roomy and warm but bed was like granite and there was a light shining in all night that you couldn't block with curtains.

First occasion to be inside, for a meeting. Perfectly acceptable for what we needed - 30 odd people. The place was probably built about 40 odd years ago and some fitments looking a bit worn but overall a solid medium establishment.

Really good if u need to park the camper somewhere close to the city. Has all the facility’s you need. The food at the restaurant was good too .

We stayed there for two nights on an unpowered site (39$ for 2 person per night) Small kitchen and tv room, but everything was clean and the staff was very friendly! Helps when you want to visit Wellington.

I went two times in this campground and I was great : close to Wellington's CBD, free WiFi and not too expensive for the location. The toilet and kitchen would need a renovation but that's a detail.

Very handy for the Interislander ferry as a stopover. Friendly and helpful staff showed us where to catch buses to the city centre.

Great location near the Ferry, but not walking distance to J'ville. Hotel Bar and restaurant closed due to covid. So we had to Uber to restaurant. Too wet to ride on motorbikes in wet weather gear and eat.... Handy laundry, as we got drenched riding thro Cyclone Dovi, so it was great to be able to wash and dry all the wet items. Room was comfortable, a little dated bathroom.

However, the aircraft noise didn't bother us at all. The bar / restaurant had very good food and the staff was always friendly. There is free WiFi, but it is not the best, but you can get by. (Original) Sehr gemütlicher Ort. (Camper) Wie andere schon beschrieben gibt es leider viel zu wenig Toiletten, diese sind jedoch sauber und werden regelmäßig gesäubert. Allerdings hat uns der Flugzeuglärm gar nicht gestört. In der Bar/Restaurant gab es sehr gutes Essen und das Personal war immer freundlich. Es gibt zwar freies Wlan, allerdings ist es nicht das Beste, aber man kommt zurecht.
