Reviews of DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington
Although located in old, historic building, the hotel is quite well maintained and modernised. Rooms are really spacious and have all necessary amenities. Beds are big and comfortable, even bathrooms are modern and much better standard compared to other more modern hotels. Staff was helpful and efficient. Best thing is location right in the centre of Welly, next to all government offices and tourist attractions.
Unique hotel, well ventilated lobbies and rooms, very nice complimentary condiments, tranquil ambience. The style is unique and they do their best to cater for your needs. There is an Italian restaurant on L1.
There is not much I could give improvements on but one thing is the coffee table beside the bed had coffee/cup stains on it that would be removed if it was wiped.
Perfect location. Marcus was fabulous, he upgraded us to a suit as our earlier room was at the lower floor and was noisy because of road works. Breakfast was great and as usual double tree cookies are delicious.
The building and some facilities are quite old, like the elevator, which I think adds some character. Worry not, the rooms are all modern with the usual amenities. The hotel is centrally located with shops within walking distance and major bus line stops just outside the doors.
Staff and location are top-notch. Even though it's right in the heart of the city, it is very quiet at night.
The room was a double (two queen beds), and it was mostly very clean and modern, but there were greasy handprints on the fabric headboards, which was a little off-putting.
I would still recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel in downtown Wellington across the street from the ferry terminal. It was perfect for us before catching an early ferry the next morning. Rooms were big, clean, and beds were exceptional. The parking lot is underground and can be tight around the turns.
The hotel has a modern vintage feel. I was very impressed with the spacious bedrooms ( loved the tall ceilings ) & the warm moody color scheme. Staff were extremely proactive & helpful at reception & in the restaurant. I highly rate the meal & drinks we had. Wish we could have stayed longer
I couldn’t have been more comfortable and pleased with my experience. Hope and Shiv welcomed me and made me feel like family answering all of my questions and recommending places that I inquired about. I was upgraded to a fabulous room for my diamond membership with some delectable chocolates and sparkling water when I arrived to my room. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Thank you!
Excellent location for visiting the city - close to many of the main attractions. The historic cable car is directly next door. The beautiful harbour is a 3-minute walk. Very welcoming staff, large and comfortable rooms
An elegant older building beautifully and tastefully restored with spacious, comfortable rooms and excellent, helpful staff. The location could not be better for access to the city centre's extensive shopping and restaurants, the waterfront, and civic buildings.
I had a great time here. The location is great and the rooms were big, modern, and clean. People have commented that the staff was unfriendly but I found they were very nice. There is bird sh** covering all the balconies and the gym is tiny but other than that, I'd definitely stay again. They also let me check in hella early and have a late checkout. Cheers.
we stayed in a two-bedroom apartment for 3 nights. This apartment has a great location, friendly staff, good facilities.
Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was beautiful. The air conditioning didn't work, I asked them to fix it, they said they would but didn't. Parking isn't included in their fee and is very overpriced. $70.00 for 2 days. After the cleaning crew went through they didn't replace the face cloths. These might sound small but the price I paid for 2 nights it should have been a little better. Everything is in walking distance which was a huge plus.
All good, with both staff and hotel, would stay again. Check in smooth. Parking instructions could be a little bit clearer.
The Doubletree Hilton was one of our favourite stays on our recent New Zealand holiday. We had a lovely king room, with a wonderful and well lit bathroom. The reception team were always friendly and we were very happy to receive the signature doubletree cookie on arrival. A great, central location with a delicious restaurant on site. Strongly recommend.
Fabulous rooms, reception service was welcoming, great location. Except the drinks and health shots, breakfast was disappointing.
The hotel looks old but in an acceptable condition. I would not suggest paying extra for the breakfast if it is not included. The location was convenient and very close to the wellington train station.
Stayed here a few times. Favourite place to stay in Wellington. Cute little hotel with old style charm.
Great location, tidy rooms. Here for a birthday weekend. Loved the warm cookies on arrival. Shout out to Rahul front desk who was very helpful at check-in and offered to show us room options. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Great location. Great rooms. The staff are fantastic - always friendly and helpful.
This Hilton is set in 1900s building so do bare in mind the boutique vibe.
Our room was spacious and loved the shower. The location was spot on CBD centre near to all awesome shops and waterfront.
Everything was at walking distance.
Only Con I can say is the restaurant though it’s got a new ownership and name, they can do better with their menu.
There is no pool, they do have a gym which we never had time to check out.
Our housekeeping forgot to change towels, I suppose they were not finished yet when I came and closed the door. So it’s alright.
Will I come back? Sure will!
The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was neat and well presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful. But it came down to location, location, location. Perfect spot to see Wellington with a bus stop less than 100m walk and across from Woolworths and cable car. Fantastic!
We loved this boutique hotel! Great central location, immaculate facilities and wonderful, friendly staff. We didn’t want for a thing during our stay and found that the staff were so pleasant if we did require any assistance. Chef Asnisn created a beautiful breakfast that kept us going for the whole day and having our parking sorted meant we were free to explore and enjoy all that Wellington had to offer. Highly recommend.
Quick one night stop but everyone was lovely, the restaurant was great, and the beds were comfortable
Three nights here, using points for booking. I arrived at 6pm and my room was ready when I arrived. I don't know if I was upgraded or not, but I did have a really nice room on the 5th floor that overlooked Grey Street. There was no noise from the street during my stay. A nice little welcome gift plus the usual two bottles of water.
The room was comfortable, clean and yes, quiet. Coffee/tea service was fully stocked, the mini-fridge was cold and the shower had all the glass (not one of those European half-glass things). Work desk was oddly shaped but functional and the wifi worked well. Plenty of outlets at bedside.
I am a Diamond in the HiltonHonors program, so I was able to enjoy the breakfast as part of my status. A nice spread that started at 7:00 on the dot. The usual western breakfast items with eggs and bacon and sausage and potatoes but also a few sushi items, cold cuts and sliced cheese and fixings for salads. Breakfast cereals, pastries and bread with a toaster. Coffee machine worked quite well.
The hotel is very centrally located in the busy business district. Lots of people around the entrance all day and there is a supermarket/grocery across the street. It quiets down in the evening hours.
Great welcome experience, and their welcome cookie's are awesome. Centrally located in Wellington with working distance to all amenities such as woolworths and fast food selection.
New trip with room upgrade
A nice hotel in a very convenient spot. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The guest staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant served some unique dishes. Fitness center was pretty standard...a treadmill and some dumbbells. Kinda expected that. I definitely would recommend staying here and I look forward to staying again.
Opted to spend more time in Wellington than Auckland, and found this gem. It's an old 1928 building that has modern updates but still embracing its past architectural features. The location of this hotel is excellent, right there in the middle of everything including the cable car, the waterfront, botanic garden, and fine shopping.
Our room was very comfortable. Staff here was excellent and accommodating. Delicious chocolate chip cookies upon check in, friendly helpful staff in the dining room for breakfast and dinner. Complimentary breakfast was sumptuous! All in all just a wonderful stay.
Great vintage hotel. Spent the weekend there . Loved the ambience inside this place though it was located in busy Wellington.Apparently it had been restored from an insurance building from many years back and the Hotel still retains the exquisite Architectural vintage grandeur. From the the lobby to the elevator to the very rooms, everything is laid out in precision to take the visitor thru a nostalgic stay. The staff, as always were friendly and helpful, starting from Reservation to Dining to Room service.
Absolutely loved our stay in this Doubletree (Hilton group) hotel in Wellington.
From check-in to check-out everything was super smooth, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the warm cookies on check-in are a marketing genius idea.
Yes the parking is a bit around the corner but well explained and the team on the ground is happy to help. Unloading luggage is convenient and can be done pretty much in front of the entrance.
The location is superb and only a few meters away from the Cable Car with a lot of shopping and good eateries all around.
The continental breakfast was especially thoughtful with things like sushi, italian antipasti and hummus and the quality of the danish pastries was one of the best I had (even compared to many 5* hotels around the world).
The room we stayed in was newly renovated and very comfortable. The antique look and feel of the building inside combined with the jazzy music gave it exactly the right vibes around Christmas time.
A well managed and beautiful place to be home in away from home.
Fantastic location in the heart of wellington with everything walking distance. The hotel has a lovely art deco/ retro feel like you’re in New York
in the 20s. The service from staff was warm
and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay - you also get free cookies - yum !
Central location, easy walk to Cable Car, waterfront.
Rooms were well sized.
All the staff were friendly, apart from one.. Dhruv, your behaviour and attitude was wrong! Talking about guests, right behind the kitchen door, and the guest is there!
Because of likes of you, you let the rest of your team down!
Danny and the rest were amazing and friendly! Keep up the great job you are doing, hopefully your colleague learns something from you!
Excellent service and great rooms
Pricey but it pays to treat yourself once a while
Second double tree I’ve stayed at and well worth. The room was nice and food was good!!
Only issue was the restaurant. Giving your restaurant an Italian name and putting a couple of pastas on the menu does not qualify as an Italian restaurant. I was disappointed to find they did not have any Campari or limoncello - two Italian staples- and the ouzo I resorted to was stale and tasteless.
The food, however, was satisfactory, and our waitress, though obviously inexperienced, was unfailingly pleasant and obliging.
Other than the restaurant, the hotel is excellent: beautiful old building tastefully refurbished, high standard of service, great location.
Comfortable rooms, beds with top sheet and separate duvet, well-designed bathroom including shower, exceptional service on our arrival in the morning the hostess reserved places for us for Zelandia which allowed us to have a guided tour the next day.
Et le restaurant est excellent.
Had a fantastic stay! Dani and Shannyn at the front desk were sooo friendlly and helpful! Thank you!! Room (King Deluxe) was very nice, beautifully done and hotel was quiet. Highly recommend!
Great location for this hotel. Very much like the other double trees I have stayed in.
Amazing hotel, friendly and professional staff. Easy accessible car park. The only negative thing was that our deluxe king room has only one little window facing a wall. We have stayed here twice and will come back again. The restaurant serves nice tasty breakfast and have a great selection of meals for dinner.
Beautiful building, centrally located.
A below average Dtree experience for the price.
When I arrived the doorman was far busier chatting on his phone than to open the door for a guest with luggage. This was a theme that a lot of the staff seemed preoccupied on their mobiles.
The room was fine, comfortable bed. Generally clean and good shower and bathroom. Though the shower gel was empty and not restocked during my stay.
Breakfast had a good selection and the hot and cold items including the porridge were all good quality.
When I returned at 3 on my second day, my room was still not refreshed, which I think is unacceptable as it means you either forgo this, be disturbed or go out again. I enquired at reception and was nonchalantly advised that they prioritise check in rooms until 3pm. Inefficient in my view.
Breakfast and bar staff were very friendly and helpful.
I’m a diamond member and usually stay at a Hilton if there is one, I wouldn’t return to this one however.
I earn Hilton’s highest loyalty from stays and was extremely pleased with this one. I have never had such a great room, amazing shower, comfy bed and helpful staff. I wasn’t offered any upgrade and didn’t ask but that’s fine. I was more than comfortable regardless. My only issues I came across were the A/C and a barking dog each morning I was there. The parking garage is a hassle and a bit pricey for what you need. But being central to everything in the heart of the city was absolutely worth the price. And the on site restaurant had very good F&B and friendly people. I will return for sure.
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the morning buffet at DoubleTree by Hilton, and it was nothing short of amazing. The selection of food was impressive, but what truly made the experience memorable was the skill and hospitality of the chefs, particularly Ashish Sharma. His attention to detail and culinary expertise elevated the entire dining experience, making it both delicious and delightful. If you're looking for a pleasant morning meal with exceptional service, I highly recommend checking out DoubleTree by Hilton and saying hello to Chef Ashish Sharma
Perhaps the best Double Tree I have stayed in anywhere in the world. It seems to be restored from an older hotel- very retro, cool and comfortable! The breakfast was filling and delicious. Well located near all the sites at the harbour
Very good place to stay in Wellington in the city centre beachfront activities n dinning under 5 minutes walk shops all with 5 or 10 minutes famous Wellington cable car just opposite the hotel across the road
Highly praise this place.
I see there is a few negative reviews of customer service, but it was one of the best we had experienced to date. Staff were always welcoming, explained to us the check in well.
Parking was a breeze and it is located on site. Staff provided an easy to follow QR code and instruction sheet, so that it was easy to get to the car park. Car park was secure and after hours only accessible really to the hotel.
Room was clean and well maintained.
Located right in the heart of the cbd, so was great to travel around via foot around.
We arrived on a wet night and the complimentary hot cookie on arrival just made our evening. Thank you.
As a Hilton loyalty member l expected better. Stayed 1night in room 715. Closest thing you could get to a dungeon. No outlook or natural light as you couldn't open the curtains due to the close proximity to the building next door being so close and looking directly into an office .Certainly not what we expected for the high price paid. The only positive aspect was we were only staying night. The bar and restaurant staff were to be commended. Excellent service and meal . We would certainly not stay again for fear of a repeat experience. It would certainly have to be one of the worst rooms we have ever experienced.
Chose this room because of location. Very central and near shops and the waterfront. Didn’t like that the room overlooks the office building next door so we couldn’t open the curtains. It’s good if you only need a bed to sleep in, otherwise make sure you ask for a room facing the street.
We stayed her just for a night but this place is really very convenient. Rooms are spacious.Beds were very comfortable. Welcoming staff. Parking is a bit difficult to find on the back street in the tower adjacent to the Hotel. Saffron Carrot Halwa was amazing.
It was OK, service desk was lacking in helpful information and some staff came across as unsure of what to do in some situations
Room was comfortable, will recommend to frds and family next time.
Heritage building, with art shows from local artists rotates regularly. Friendly and nice staff. Exceptional location right at the heart of the Lambton Quay. The slight downside is a bit noisy from the street at night but otherwise perfect.
The Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Wellington is a beautiful building in a very practical location. Right outside the cable car lift in fact.
However, the service is nothing like true Hilton standards that one experiences anywhere else in the world. We needed the spare bed moved from my mother in laws room to our one evening at about 8pm. No house keeping staff were available at that time of night. We had to proceed with moving it ourselves. The breakfast room is far too small to host its guests adequately. And the rooms have no cutlery or plates if one wished to feed their kids. Finally and most disappointing of all were the beds I have chronic back issues and my 3 night stay managed to set me back after months of rehabilitation. For the price paid this, is the issue that infuriates me the most.
We loved this property! The building inside and out was stunning and has been restored so well while also keeping a little bit of history. Amazing location and the service was great, everyone was so friendly.
I have given this hotel a 4-star rating as everything except the hotel dining was exceptional. We were allowed into our room early on arrival which we found very useful as our check-in was after an early morning flight. The room was more than adequate and clean. I have stayed here many times and will stay there again but will not dine there. The food was terrible quality, very cold and very expensive. The price list of the breakfast menu was not clearly displayed and I found the restaurant staff on the morning of our breakfast there lacking in interaction with their guests.
Room was spacious with large bathroom and bath. The location was central, however directly opposite a Countdown Supper Market. The trucks would arrive at 11-12 pm to unload the stock using forklifts. The noise is tearable and will keep you awake. They take between 1 & 2 hours to unload. This is nightly! The staff tried hard to assist but some had difficulty with the English language. We were a couple travelling with two bags but the room only had one bag caddie. We requested a second caddie twice and we’re advised they only have one per room. We would set the room temperature to our liking 23 deg but when we returned each evening the staff had reset the AC to 17 deg and we had to warm the room again. Not the standard we would expect from Hilton hotels.
Great location and excellent quality rooms.
Great stay here, the rooms are spacious enough and have everything you need for a couple of nights stay, they also have a gym though I didn't get to pop in there.
The only thing I can fault is the breakfast, or at least the buffet breakfast... Terrible, the bacon was watery and seemed barely cooked, the scrambled eggs should definitely be skipped, mushrooms not bad. Is suggest going somewhere else to get your most important meal of the day.
Other than that, friendly and helpful staff, the place looks great and is very well situated to make the most of Wellies.
I stayed at Double Tree for 2 nights and the location was amazing. We were across the road to supermarkets, Maccas, and the cable cars. The harbour was a 10 minute walk away. The staff were really nice and always helped us even with booking a shuttle. The only thing was that we booked a 3 person room but they gave a double bed and a couch. The room was very nice and modern and clean with 2 tv's. Overall, it was a good hotel and I would definitely recommend.
Overall had a pretty good stay here; great location and convenient parking provided with additional cost, bed was super comfy, amenities was ok, no bathrobe provided unless you ask for it, staff/service was not so great and had to wait for quite a while to get a seat for breakfast on our first morning. Would rate 5 stars review if it’s not for their staff and service.
Very nice hotel in the centre of Wellington. The location was really good with great access go all the best tourist attractions in the city. The staff were friendly and attentive, especially at breakfast which was very nice. The room was good and the bathroom was great. There is a carpark next to the hotel which was good too. Thanks
Right in the middle of town, centrally located by many unique government buildings including but not limited to Parliament, district, High Court, and Supreme Court of New Zealand. Beautiful old style hotel with breakfast included. Well worth the money for the convenience. At least to me
Lovely old Dame given a new life. The building is old but Hilton have done well to bring her back life in a luxurious fashion. Room was lovely, bed incredibly comfy and location excellent for tourist in Wellington. Parking is in the next building and you have to a lap around the block to get in, but it’s explained well by staff and you are given a map.
Honestly, we had a lovely time.
Location is great? Service is not
Parking is not included and it’s extra $37 per night !
Breakfast is not included and it is extra
I have booked a deal with breakfast included and the first day they simply said it is not included and you have to pay until I showed them the email….. I booked it using their website !
It is 4 star hotel for the price of 5 star!
Rooms are nice and clean.
A perfect room with a generously sized bathroom, deep bath, comfortable king size bed, friendly staff, great restaurant and all set in a stylish art deco design that's been thoughtfully renovated without losing the feel.
Loved the attentive service, breakfast was delicious and comfy rooms with awesome air-conditioning, lovely staff made my family feel at home. Can't wait for the next visit.
The Hotel exceeded our expectations, and the staff were mostly friendly. Great location to so many places, did lots of walking around. Beds comfy, pillows comfy, breakfast was lovely, and the decor stunning with the building being old. Definately coming back here.
If I had to make 1 comment, its the cleaners took away our towels even though they were hanging up as requested, but thats nothing compared to other Hotels we have stayed at. Thanks Doubletree Hilton, look forward to our next trip to Wellington.
Accommodating staff, spotless room, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Also loved our little balcony which had great views - could even see the ocean.
We very much enjoyed our stay. It was surprisingly quiet given its central city location.
Buffet breakfast had a good selection of food; the hot food section included many gluten free options.
Stayed for five nights in a junior suite. Room was spacious, very stylish and with smart solutions and layout. Great bed and bathroom. Room service fast, and the hotel did their best trying to make our stay a pleasant one. On the negative side the staff on three occasions disturbed us in the evenings with trivialities on the door, and we ran out of bathroom amenities without getting new replacements.
Hotel centrally located. Rooms were clean, spacious and considering the location, extremely quiet.
Staff were helpful & friendly - early check-in and late checkout both accommodated. The warm cookie on arrival was delicious. Breakfast buffet was great - chef very willing to prepare eggs on request. Special shout out to Tharshika who ensured restaurant ran smoothly!
I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner. We wanted to have breakfast buffet, but due to the covid-19, breakfast was served in set-menu. That was so nice, and serving staff were so professional. Room is spacious enough and so many TV channels are available. I have one thing I need to tell them. That is cleanliness. I found a empty can of redbull under the bed. I didn't try to check under the bed, though that was so obvious that soon to came into my eyesight. Sorry. I know how busy and hard housekeeping staff are but please check them thoroughly. Anyway, overall, I will surely visit again if I get a chance to visit Wellington.
Nice, comfortable, spacious rooms with very high ceilings. Centrally located, with the cable car directly across the road, and the Beehive a 5min walk down the street. The view for our room was, unfortunately, was just the neighbouring building - despite being on the top floor. And overall, it felt like it wasn't designed for families (no kids movies on the TV, no kids meals via room service etc). But, they did have free warm chocolate chip cookies every time we passed reception, which went down a treat with the kids. Would probably recommend for couples.
Spent a week at this awesome boutique hotel. Quality throughout, central location. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Valet parking was a bit pricey at $45 a day however the staff were super quick in getting our car for us when needed. Superb beds!
The most central hotel in Wellington.
A lovely building with helpful staff.
We loved dining in the restaurant.
Excellent breakfast with a huge choice of fodd and beverages☕️
A must go Hotel. Quaint, old fashioned atmosphere, right in the heart of Lambton Quay. Friendly staff. The room was above expectations. We could check in early which was appreciatedand unexpected. Clean, warm, spacious, fresh and new appearance. Jazz night in the bar with a tasty cocktail was an unexpected bonus. Room service was speedy. The food was adequate. My goal this visit was Archives, National Library and Parliament. All within easy walking distance. And, of course so close to the harbour boardwalk. Thank you. We will be back.
Location was great for business meeting. Countdown was just across the road and Sals pizza next door. The inhouse restaurant served delicious meals. Rooms were very tidy and spacious.
The rooms were pretty great as well as the facilities. We couldn't get room service tho which was pretty annoying but overall staff was very friendly. But they placed my family in two separate rooms. One on LVL 4 and one on LVL 7. That was my only main complaint but otherwise I'd recommend this place.
Very expensive. I liked that it was close to a grocery store and the walking path along the river but far from the better restaurant area. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a balcony but they locked the door on us after the first night and we couldn't use it any more. The desk space was small, but the staff were very friendly and gave good recommendations on where to go.
Very clean and comfortable place to stay. Rooms were a good size and bathroom was spacious. Breakfast at the restaurant was nice. Staff were able to give advice about Wellington and answer all our questions.
Beautiful hotel with lots of character.
Tip: If you’re driving, go to the multi story carpark along Panama Street. It’s a Wilson carpark. Park your car on the 5th story and above. Take your luggage and go to the lift and go to ground (Gr). Then turn left to go to Doubletree lobby to check in.
Front desk will let you know what to do. Payment for parking is $35 a night and it’s settled by the hotel. You enter a PIN to exit the carpark during your stay.
The customer service was great, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I especially like how the location is so close to the shops. I do wish I knew how the breakfast buffet was pre-covid but overall the food was very nicely done.
My only complaint would be the low airflow of the aircon in our room (made for uncomfortable nights for the hubby).
Beautiful hotel, great service, very comfortable and centrally located. World stay here again. No robes which was disappointing but such a minor issue really. Love the warm welcome cookies!
Update 2023: The service has gone down a lot and I have removed a star. I have stayed here so many times but recently they have dropped the ball with a lot of new untrained staff, ridiculous pricing (one night this year was >$700), and no flexibility with bookings. I have now found the Intercontinental to be cheaper in the long run and is a much nicer hotel.
Old review 2019: Very nice old style hotel and finished with very nice fittings. Friendly staff. Only issue was having to wait to checkout as they only had one person on reception in the morning.
Excellent location with two huge problems:
1) There are pigeons all over the windows infesting the place. This is NOT healthy.
The hotel should install nails on the parapets, as churches and many public buildings do, in order to prevent the pigeons from residing in the hotel window. It was horrible to listen to the pigeons in our window and think about the diseases they transmit.
2) The fire alarm went off for two consecutive days. False fire alarm. It was annoying to go down to the street and wait for clearance to return to our room. We stayed only two days at this hotel and this false alarm happened in BOTH days. I imagine the firemen in Wellington have other things to do than respond to false fire alarms?
For guests it was horrible as we had to change fast, get our passports and stay on the street waiting.
Definitely wouldn’t stay at this hotel again and wouldn’t recommend it to family & friends, although the mattress was comfortable and the staff was friendly and polite.
As a Hilton Honors member I think it’s time to re-evaluate if Hilton is still the same great brand as it used to be.
very good value for money great location execllent staff shower box could have been cleaned properly other wise everything was great will come in again thnx.
Friendly staff was welcoming me on arrival. The breakkie was nice and fresh as well. Location of the hotel is perfect for non-driving guests. Double recommend and I would definitely will come back here to stay!
The staff are great. A big shout out to Abby on the front desk friendly and happy. My only gripe is the restaurant is to small. Having to queue up for breakfast was unexpected.
The room we had was good and a shower that delivered a constant flow of hot water was appreciated
Cheers and thanks
Checked in on the 30/1/21 Lovely hotel. Great valet service. Really clean hotel. Breakfast had a great selection. The reception staff were really friendly. Top marks all round will be back for sure.
Thank you.
EDIT: Another couple of awesome stays - changing the rating to 5 stars.
Located in the heart of Wellington CBD, they have done an amazing job renovating the historical building while still keeping it's charm. Love the wooden lift doors and large rooms considering the minimal space they had. There is no executive lounge which is a bummer. Also the room I had looked into the office cubicle next door , which was very odd. Hopefully I get a better room next time. There were a few more teething issues with room service but i believe they will improve with time considering they have just opened.
Nice experience. Awesome staff. Parling is a bit confusing at the start as its shared with another building and have to knock on the door for them to open after hours.
It was great and will definetly be back.
Rooms were decent size.
Location is perfect, room was spotless. Service at front desk was amazing, served by a new british girl (forgot her name) who was so helpful and even arranged with the chefs to box up breakfast for me in the morning as she know my flight was before 7am. Shes a credit to the hotel. Overall great experience.
Love its heritage feel, high ceilings, and the location gave us walking access to explore the whole city. The only down side for the kids was no pool. However I could almost say their breakfast made up for it?!? But overall a very young staff were happy to accommodate us and the overall aesthetic respectful of the building and created a clean light opulence. Coming back!
The hotel is really well positioned in central downtown Wellington, the rooms were great, really lovely and best of all they gave us a warm chocolate chunk cookie at check in! On the downside they never processed my breakfast order but all in all it was a good option and I would be very happy to stay there anytime.
The best service I've ever received out of all the Hilton Brands I've been to.
Wonderful customer service, and through Hilton Honor diamond recognition. I was given a suite upgrade, welcome drinks, dessert platter and ofcourse the classic DoubleTree cookie.
The suite was very tidy and neat with beautiful decors. Bathroom was amazing with separate tub and shower as well as a separate room for the toilet.
Easily a better stay than some of the 5 star counterparts in the country (Hilton Auckland/Hilton Frankton).
Will definitely be my first choice when I visit again.
I stayed here with a friend for a birthday weekend and we absolutely loved it! Not only is their modern touches but some of the old character remained within the building.
The Breakfast that was included in our stay was delicious!
Excellent hotel. I have stayed a couple of times and had great service from the team and the rooms are lovely. Great location for a weekend in the city or just a night.
Nice place right downtown. The rooms are very nice and service was fantastic. The lobby is very old fashioned with a nice ambiance meanwhile the rooms are totally up to date. Parking is a bit strange here but this is to be expected in a downtown location.
Excellent location. Bathroom wasn't 100% clean as we found a human hair on the floor. Bed was quite uncomfortable and made me sore, so I got little sleep that night. Hotel staff were lovely though.
What a beautiful hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and so large. Love the tub and 2 shower heads. Beds are so comfortable. Highly recommend staying here for a luxury stay.
First time at the DT and was impressed. I wish I had known about it before this. It beats Hilton Queenstown hands down which has no redeemable qualities at all.
The service and friendliness of the team members from check-in to check-out was fantastic.
The rooms were emaculate and had everything needed to make it "your home away from home".
DT is ideally located with a wide range of restuarants in close proximity.
I am going to definitely stay here again.
It looks really classic on the surface but when u look a little hard u can see it need a bit of work.
The staff are very friendly.
The bed was average.
The pillow was not good for me.
The cleaning need to be a little more detailed.
The bar/restaurant was great.
Couldn't ask for anything more, top staff, top management, which stems from the best training and care from Management. Have to mention Front Desk Manager ANGUS and no doubt has a very high position, he has gone beyond his call of duty with his kindness and compassion in helping me after adjusting from a six month stay in hospital/respite following major accident. All staff open doors for me as in wheelchair and not that strong...yet.. Disability bathroom is well equipped, shower has two options. Can either be set on hand held or large dome head with super soft water, like being under a gentle "waterfall". Room service, cafe during day, restaurant - food is awesome too. All done with dignity, respect and kindness. Front desk staff would always open outside doors for me, see me coming and run to open doors for me. Picked up things I could not reach from bedroom floor, hold lift doors, help me with coat on,always welcoming smile. Below is Alex, experienced cocktail, bar tender, awesome smile, always kind and courteous, made me some lovely new cocktails, bought to room if bed bound.
My stay with double tree Hilton Wellington did not disappoint and they really lived up the Hilton’s reputation. It was obvious that they are short staffed and overwhelmed but everyone remained professional and attentive. Room was clean and pleasantly spacious.
An excellent hotel in a fantastic location. I loved the size of the room. Air conditioning was excellent, and quiet. The bathroom & showe were brilliant.
I'll definitely stay again.
Stayed on two occasions about two weeks apart. On both occasions the reception staff and concierge were very helpful and a pleasure to engage with. Room was a good size, modern, clean, and king bed very comfortable. Separate shower (not over a bath) much appreciated. Would certainly go back!
Had an amazing experience during my stay. Clean, comfortable, modern room with a very nicely updated bathroom. Friendly and accommodating staff. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well.
What i liked
As a brand new hotel, it's squeaky clean and feels fresh. Staff were pleasant and accomodating. Can't fault the location. Coffee machine with pods in room was a nice touch as was the warm cookie on arrival.
What i didnt like
The noise. If you're on level 1 and/or facing Lambton Quay, ask to be moved. My room faced the Countdown across the street which had deliveries all night and i was woken several times by the offloading of pallets from the truck. Those single glazed windows don't keep much noise out.
Nice enough hotel but location is absolutely disappointing. Wellington is super unfriendly for tourists.... the roads are confusing to drive on. I avoid Wellington where I can. Unfortunately had to come as was a free trip. Should have gine to Taupo Hilton instead. Easy to move around and free parking in Taupo.
Food at the hotel wasnt very nice either...5/10. Its a fusion kitchen...not to my taste
The salmon and lamb were disappointing. Vege option was the best. Service was good was given 15% off our food bill.
Location is very central, so great if you are walking. Driving in Wellington sucks a million times. If this hotel was in a different city i would visit again but never again in Wellington.
Great reception service and great room very nice and clean. Despite being located in the middle of the central district, the hotel is very quiet and facilities are excellent. Room service also very good. Welcomed by Complementary warm cookies upon check in. Unlimited wifi available as well. Connection is very good also. Highly recommended.
Absolutely wonderful stay from the moment we checked in and received our chocolate chip cookies to the breakfast buffet the morning we left. The staff went above and beyond especially the housekeeping staff that left a towel ducky for our kids on the bed and then came back later in the day and brought rubber duckies for the bath. Truly an extraordinary stay!!! This is why we love Hilton ❤️
Very happy with our room. Kids loved it especially when I told them Paris Hiltons dad owned 'the Hilton' Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was ok not that much choice for dinner but enjoyed the buffet breakfast, thanks Wellington for an enjoyable stay
Excellent hotel centrally located and high in style. Staff is exceptional. Spent a week on business and with some time for tourism as well. As a Diamond Hilton Honors member was treated to daily breakfast and enjoyed the M-Th happy hour drink specials ($10NZD). The Eggs Benedict is the best. Super thanks to the staff in the restaurant. Hope to stay again.
Positives:
* Great central location
* Helpful and courteous team - the highlight of our stay
* Gorgeous rooms - well laid out - beautiful light fixtures - comfy beds and pillows
Negatives:
* Please sort our your aircon. Room was incredibly hot and stuffy - we had to continually turn the aircon on and ‘program’ it to a cool 18 degrees MULTIPLE times EACH DAY - especially at night. It did not make for a restful sleep. This has been the worst aircon setup I’ve encountered thus far in any hotel I’ve ever stayed at.
* When using Hilton Honours to check in online and choose your room, it would be helpful to annotate which rooms are accessible and which are not. Also, the digital key never worked - not a good look for the brand.
Overall - would I stay again? Unless you can sort our your aircon - then no.
What a treat, we stayed in the two bedroom apartment on the top floor and this was an amazing home away from home. Comfortable beds and absolute luxury were worth every cent. The breakfast buffet was lovely also.
Love this place! Stay here when travelling for work and the building heritage is beautifully retained whilst giving modern convenience. The restaurant has a great menuand knowledgeable staff both for food and beverages. The decor is refined and relaxing, perfect for finishing work or on holiday. Location is central to everything and checking in and out is a breeze
Beautiful old school charm done right. This converted old building looks old but has modern rooms. I didn't get a cookie on arrival, but that's not enough to lose a star over lol. Quick room service, central location, supermarket over the road, comfortable bed, attentive and friendly competent staff, and large shower all add to my 5 star rating. My new hotel of choice for Wellington.
This Hilton is in a refurbished heritage building and you can see facets of the original charm through the stairs, railings, elevator and other details.
The room is spacious with high ceilings and a modern bathroom. I had a room facing the street, and noise did travel in the evenings and mornings.
The gym is a small room with one treadmill, a spin bike, a stairmaster machine and a set of free weights. It’s small but adequate, and was often empty at the times I visited.
The location is excellent - very central. You can walk to either side of Wellington and to the quay.
Service from every single staff is top notch. Top location in the city.
Unfortunately a couple of let downs. Toilet and bath are not user-friendly with cheap curtains instead of a proper bath. The deck window / door is not sealed well. The air con is only just warm enough but not cosy.
Classy hotel in an unbeatable location opposite the Cable Car on Lambton Quay. A couple of minutes walk from the waterfront and TSB event centre. Lovely big room, good bed and very quiet.
Very tide accommodation and we enjoyed our stay, the exterior window sils could do with washing (my partner says that's just a Wellington thing though). Service was great and we enjoyed cocktails the young but talented barmen whipped up for us. Super close to the cable car up to the Botanical Gardens
Beautiful we really enjoyed our stay.
I very much enjoyed staying at this hotel. Probably the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Wellington. Great location and parking is available at the garage next door. The breakfast is decent too.
Normal checkin 3 pm. Arrived at 2 and room wasn’t ready, but was told it would be ready @ 3. Came back at 4 and room still wasn’t ready. Was asked to wait in the bar. Half an hour later we got our room.
Asked for a late checkout of 1.5 hour. This was referred to the manager, but wasn’t possible without being charged.
Disappointing that they can be 1.5 hour late with checkin but can’t return the favour on checkout.
Otherwise great hotel with very central inner city location. Rooms are nice and quality.
We were so happy with our stay at double tree this weekend. The hotel is in a fab location, lovely and clean with the most amazing staff.
Great hotel, very central location. Feels boutique but has all the services.
Did you find a gray voltage adapter in room 616 from September 3rd?
What a warm, welcoming hotel. We were made to feel like family, not guests. Every member of staff went above and beyond. Great location and wonderful breakfast too !
Great place to stay, service was great, rooms were tidy, Bed was comfortable, it is a very updated place to stay, we got delicious welcome cookies. Would recommend.
5 stars for the location if you are in town with no vehicles. Otherwise, parking is for a cost, and almost everywhere is a one way street.
Cable car, museum, food, shopping, bus, taxis, all on hotel’s doorstep.
Stayed in two single beds room on top floor, heating needed to be amped up as the high ceiling and the non double glazed arched windows made my side of the bed cold at night.
No bath tub for this room, but it was away from elevator so it was quiet enough but since it was Saturday night, I could hear noises from the street below all night long as the window isn’t glazed.
Gave it full marks for staffs’ effort to make stay more enjoyable.
A super great hotel to stay in... third time i've been here, and second time for work. Hav also stayed for private travel as it's a great location, fab staff and the rooms are modern and lovely. I love the decor they have done an amazing restoration of this building and you really feel at home!
Fantastic service from the staff as soon as you walk in the door. The warm cookie is a lovely surprise. Extremely comfortable bed and great room. Nice to not be in a massive hotel for once.
Digital check-in early and hoping room is well prepared. No bathrobes in room. When asked for it, bathrobes came without straps. By then too tired to call again.
Bed nice and slept well.
Clean and well maintained. Centrally located and handy. Friendly staff. Stayed at the 4th floor facing Countdown and a pub. Nightly noise from Countdown trucks including in the middle of the night is unwelcome. Noise from Pub across the road on a Friday and Saturday night makes sleeping challenging. Double Tree will do well to supply ear plugs. I will return but will ask for a room away from the noise. Stayed for 3 nights with a broken hand shower that did not get fixed or even looked at.
DoubleTree is situated righ in the heart of the city. It has easy access to shopping and cafes with a supermarket very close by. The room was lovely with enough room for 3 family members to stay. Excellent bathroom and the Art Deco feel to the hotel is well thought out.
Stayed here one night while on a road trip of NZ. Room was nice and clean — one complaint would be that our room faced the main street and there was quite a lot of noise during the beginning of the night (loud banging of pallets for a store across the street). Reception was nice and efficient, however there was a mistake in our booking (we were supposed to stay 2 nights but they only had one; rates weren’t cheap so we decided to move onto our next destination a day earlier). Location is gold because it’s walking distance to a lot of stuff, however the hotel is situated on this dead-end street so there is no valet driveway so we had to park our large rental car down the street: awkward and confusing. We did have an excellent valet/bellhop/concierge though — ANDY BELL deserves a shoutout! He brought the luggage trolley over to our car and loaded up the baggage, brought it to our rooms, and then back down again when we checked out. He even went the extra mile and put our luggage back into the car when we had to check out early but still went to walk around the city before leaving. Andy is awesome!
Nice new Hotel directly next to Cable Car entrance. Grocery store right next door for some small shopping. Just 10 to 15 min to Te Papa. Just 2 min to the wharf and around 10 minutes to downtown Welly to visit all the pubs and bars. Rooms are very nice. Breakfast buffet is yummy and they do Omeletts as well. And always a warm cookie at Check-in!
It's no QT, but I love the old lifts and the foyer is nice. The rooms and the rest of the joint look, feel and operate the same as every other hotel you've ever stayed in. It's not particularly special.
Quirky vibe - quite old world but fully modern in room. Noon checkout is awesome. Room felt like a dungeon with minimal natural light - window looks out to another building 2m away.
The hotel was clean and staff friendly. Bed comfortable and room warm once air con got going.
Pros:
Very central.
Ground level entrance.
Easy access to rooms - stairs or elevator (didn't have to wait to long like some hotels).
The staff let us leave our bags in the foyer while we explored on our last day before we left Wellington.
They promptly delivered an extra blanket on day one.
Fridge in room.
Coffee / hot drink making supplies in room.
Awesome shower. Two heads... One directional with a removable shower rose and one "rain" shower head directly above you.
Lovely amenities. Use the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Was from Crabtree and Evelyn.
Cons:
No microwave in room and none to use apart from the kitchen... Staff told us we could pop down and get something heated if we wanted to if the kitchen was not busy. Not great for my Indian takeaway left overs.
No extra bedding in room - had to call down for one to be brought up.
No cutlery whatsoever. How are we supposed to make our hot drinks with the kettle, cups and tea bags?
No water in room apart from bathroom. Had to fill kettle there. Not a deal breaker but not something I'd do at home.
Don't think I'd stay again but the price was right for this trip.
Good service. Rooms are new. Lifts are super slow though but take the stairs for some extra steps in your day! Internet cost if you are not a honors member of outrageous ($20 p/day) for 2019.
We had our first stay at the hilton double tree hotel in wellington and I would have to say it is awesome - a beautiful hotel which has the feel of a luxurious boutique hotel. Our room is divine, breakfast yum and location perfect. This is our new wellington hotel - we will be back that is guaranteed.
The doubletree by Hilton is superbly located, beautifully restored and brought to life with the most friendly and efficient staff. I stayed in the hotel over the lockdown period and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The rooms are well appointed and modern.
I highly recommend the hotel whether anyone is on holiday or on business. Thank you, my stay was awesome!
Stayed for a few days when our apartment was under renovation. One of the best Hiltons in New Zealand! Professional and appropriate customer service, great attention to details and location is the best. Always helpful front desk staff, big thank you!
Great hotel, great location in CBD. Rooms are very nicely fitted out in contemporary design.
Very helpful concierge.
Yet to try the facilities but I am sure they will match the above.
This is a new hotel. Overall it is what you would expect from Hilton. The location is superb and the rooms are quiet. The breakfast needs improving, it lacks a coffee machine and there is not enough fruit. And the Greek yoghurt is not Greek yoghurt from Greece, scandalous!
Lovely hotel in an old heritage building.
Great location, room was outstanding, service was fabulous, restaurant and food was fabulous... above all, ALL their staff was wonderful. Everyone we encountered, it was their purpose to make your experience the best. There was one lovely young Frenchman named Benoi who was extremely impressive. We each felt Benoi's only purpose was to facilitate our individual needs to make ours the best possible experience.
First time at this restaurant and will be back for more. Beautifully cooked meal for the 4 of us and great selection on the Menu. Bit of a shaky start to the night but felt that this was because of this place being relatively new on the Wellington Restaurant scene.
The venison looked devine and my lamb shank was cooked to perfection.
Well done
Stayed for our anniversary, absolutely stunning, staff were so kind and nice, which made our stay much more special.
Locatiom is great, right in the heart of the city with most activities between 2 - 5 minutes walk. Will definitely be staying here again!
p.s: Their cookies are fo die for!
Friendly staff, impressive 1928 Chicago art deco style decor , great service
Pleased the Hilton now have a presence in Wellington NZ. The hotel only just opened 1st of July 2018 so everything is brand new. Like all Hilton Hotels the beds are super comfortable . But be warned the complimentary fresh out of the oven Double Tree cookies are extra yummy and cannot be resisted.
Clean nice old building. In the middle of town. Great access to local shops food & drinks. Rubbish wifi for free. Only worst free wifi has been in Cuba. Do not stay if you want to communicate with friends via wifi.
Very nice small hotel in an old building. Far away from the usual US standard Doubletrees. As a Diamond member got an early check in and late check out plus full full breakfast. Location is great, walking distance to everything.
Fitness room is quite small no swimming pool, I dont know is it NZ style bcz I never feel like this lower facilities in 5 stars hotel in other countries
Great hotel, beautiful rooms, great location and amazing staff. Have stayed many times and its always the same each time we come back. Thanks for a great stay DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington.
5 Star service the US Doubletree needs to get hip to. Seriously the staff here are top notch. Rooms are nice and quiet, location excellent.
Nice hotel, spacious room, requested for portable cot and got it. Minus point just the breakfast, but overall its a nice place to stay.
Had a luxurious stay. However we were promised cookies at the reception, but never received any. I don't really care about the cookies, but they shouldn't promise us something they cant hold.
Love staying in this hotel... comfortable, clean, central location, good water pressure and bathrooms are tiptop! Service with a smile. Thank you. Will come back.
Luxurious hotel right in the middle of the city. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed.
Best located hotel for Wellington CBD. Everything is at the doorstep or easy walking distance plus public transport is easily available too. Welcoming and helpful staff at the hotel.
Very nice room, friendly and helpful service, great location. Highly recommend!
Good central location in a beautiful old building. Quiet rooms all the necessary extras. However, my room lighting was either all on or all off.
Exceptional concierge service, very clean rooms, and a great restaurant. The customer service is truly amazing here. Will undoubtedly stay here again.
Lovely, welcoming hotel. Bed was amazingly comfortable and quiet. Highly recommend for anyone staying in Wellington
Beautiful hotel, spacious room and fabulous restaurant. The only issue, a minor one, is arriving in the rain and the valet drop off is out in the street.
The hotel is at a good location which is great for shopping and visiting local attractions.
A beautiful hotel, and very central locations to all the Wellington CBD surrounding attraction.
Pretty good. Great fit out. Not quite all the amenities I would have expected. Nice and central. Restaurant is french-indian which didn't appeal.
Hotel room was nice and heaps of room. Front of house excellent only gripe was the amount of street noise. Double glazing would help
Once again it was amazing service, the rooms were immaculate and the restaurant and bar facility were top notch.
Loved our stay - perfect for firdt time visitors nice and closer to everything
Always a great stay at the DoubleTree, friendly and helpful staff, clean and well appointed rooms. My prefered place to stay in Wellington
Second time staying here. Rooms very clean, staff professional, courteous and helpful, good breakfast, great room service.
Friendly staff, beautiful, clean and spacious rooms and central to all amenities. Really enjoyed our stay.
The room was lovely and the breakfasts were very nice.
Sadly the steak dinner was far from Hilton standard 😥
Great location, good size room, helpful friendly staff and great dinner from the in house restaurant.
Great service, great room, great atmosphere and lovely decor. Very central and we felt very welcomed.
Great location right in the centre of Wellington. If you are driving to the hotel make sure you know where you are going. Staff very good helpful.
Great accommodation. Central in CBD. Very clean and quiet rooms
Great place to stay, handy location, friendly staff, loved the vintage look of this place, very clean and tidy
Great location, pleasant restaurant, relaxing hotel, with art deck, helpful staff and safe area.
Stay here a couple of times good all rounder if you want or need to be in the heart of Wellington.
Very modern rooms, friendly staff.
We stayed two nights at this hotel. Finding it is not easy, it is in a building in the center, but very little signposted. Among the lights and signs there is a simple pair of brand flags, which are really barely visible. At check-in, a free chocolate cookie is given as per practice in this Hilton group chain. Private parking is available, but unfortunately too small compared to the number of rooms, so we were forced to find alternative parking. The furniture and internal structure are in 1920s style. One lift was out of order and the other was very slow and noisy. The room is basic, with a good sized bathroom, kettle, coffee and tea, mini bar for a fee, breakfast is served on floor 1 in an elegant room, the quality of the food is not great, the hot dishes were not hot and the desserts were really basic. The price is low, but unfortunately the quality is too!
Well located hotel. Clean room. No valet service. We checked in at 10:00 p.m. Complicated parking. Should we park on the 5th floor or 7 floor. We have to do a few pirouettes in the surrounding streets. Narrow parking. Difficult access. Level floor…We got a ticket, parked on the 5th but not in a space reserved 🙄 for the hotel. We didn't know. Bad directions from staff, not very helpful. The bedroom windows are not waterproof, you can hear a lot of outside traffic. Hearty lunches but very expensive.
Very good location, especially if you want to use the ferry afterwards. I asked for a quiet room and actually got a room at the very end. However, in the evenings there were always noises like a roller shutter closing, and on the second night we were woken up in the morning by the shower from the next room.
As already mentioned in other reviews, the employees at reception were only moderately friendly or interested (except when we first checked in). It was a bit strange for me when I asked for a quiet room for a short video conference. Despite my Diamond status, they wanted me to pay $80 for short-term use of the meeting room. They didn't want or couldn't provide me with another room or a quiet corner.
The breakfast was okay, but I wouldn't pay anything for it!
I would also like to positively mention the clean rooms and the friendly lady from room service.
The location near the cable car is great. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant are also absolutely ok. However, it is generally a bit cold in the hotel because of all the air conditioning and the laundry service is far too expensive. Parking is available in the same building for an additional fee. The journey to the Interislander Ferry is also quite short.
Comfortable hotel and very comfortable bed.
Breakfast is not up to par with the same hotel in England.
The colors are too brown/gray and lack brightness. It wouldn't take much to add more joy, change the carpet on the floor and possibly the wallpaper, but everything else is fine.
Avoid being placed in a room that is opposite the staff maintenance room.
The location of the hotel is very central, all points of interest can be reached on foot. Reception at the reception was easy and friendly. The hotel is older and therefore worn out in many places. The room on the 6th floor was good, but the heating didn't work. We were given a small heater that was far too weak to heat the room when the outside temperature was 13 degrees. It was way too cold the whole time. The breakfast selection was ok, but the service is subpar. Eaten plates sit on the tables forever while the poorly trained staff walk around bored around the area or chat at the bar. A single hard-working lady had to do all the work alone, while her colleague reached into the hash browns with his fingers and consistently overlooked the work! Bad management at this place!….Dinner was ok.
Hotel in the city center. 2 minutes walk from the funicular.
Very practical parking adjacent to the hotel.
Luxurious room!!! Very caring staff. Truly the best of the best in terms of hotel. Top breakfast.
In short, highly recommended hotel!!
The transportation in the city center is convenient including the AX line to the airport. The old building is next to the traffic line, but the windows are okay and not noisy. The Indian guy is very enthusiastic but speaks English quickly and needs to be listened carefully. Good value for money. The room has very high ceilings. It's also convenient to eat nearby. Recommend the pizza next to it. I've had breakfast for many days and it's quite warm.
For the price, no free Wi-Fi without an account is a bit cheeky, the breakfast was not appropriate for the price but ok and the room was not habitable before moving to another room due to street noise, the rest was good.
We booked two nights in a double room at this hotel (around €230 in total). The hotel is very centrally located, everything can be easily reached on foot from the hotel. The Wellington Cable Car station is just around the corner (highly recommended!)||||Check-in was professional and friendly, the staff very helpful. As Diamond Members we got a great upgrade to a Junior Suite. This was huge, well and modernly furnished (see photos). The only disadvantage: the suite was very dark because of the way it was built.||||The breakfast selection impressed us: good selection, good quality and good service.
Very centrally located. Short way to the port. Building from 1920 was renovated over 1 - 2 years. That worked out well. Clean everywhere. Beds comfortable. Bathroom spacious. Good quality cosmetic items. Very quiet. Competent and friendly staff. Very attentive and friendly waiters at breakfast. Continental breakfast with a large selection. Fresh products. For 10 NZD you can also get warm food and eggs.
Very friendly welcome and a great upgrade as HH Diamond – a good start! The junior suite was really nice and big and apparently relatively recently renovated. Everything clean! The only disadvantage: You can hear every noise from the street, even on the upper floors!||The DT Wellington is really centrally located - whether it's the harbor, museum, tram or shopping, everything is within walking distance. There are also various restaurants in the immediate vicinity. However, you should pay attention to the opening times here, as they sometimes close in the late afternoon. The breakfast is extensive and of good quality, and there are lots of friendly staff here too! ||The hotel is definitely a recommendation – we will be back!
The hotel is very central, you can walk to everything. They have a parking service, and they park your car themselves. It is an old building but recently remodeled with great taste. The rooms are not very big but they are comfortable. The pity is that it does not include breakfast.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and the first night they gave us a room with a single bed for 4 people, we went to tell them and they excused themselves and we had to wait until they fixed the suite that we had paid for.|The next day we left early to do the city your and we arrived tired around 6 pm and they had not fixed the room. Although the rooms are modern and remodeled, the service leaves much to be desired.
The living functions near the hotel are very good, including supermarkets, cable car stations, restaurants, and McDonald's. The hotel service staff are very professional and friendly. The room is spacious and the bathroom has plenty of water and hot water. Breakfast is a general European and American buffet breakfast. The hotel does not have its own parking lot, so you can ask the concierge to park for you.
Very practical: Parking communicating with the hotel on the ground floor, spaces on levels 5 and 6 at $35 per 24 hours. (Area where parking is difficult)
Excellent experience, King junior suite (502) very comfortable at all levels: bedding, living room, bathroom, etc.
Very nice hotel in a great location. The room was very large and tastefully decorated. Wifi, safe, coffee maker etc. are available in the room. The staff are very friendly. There is a good selection of food at breakfast.
We stayed in this hotel for two nights. It couldn't be more central. Old building that has been newly renovated. Large room and good standard including a great bed. Parking wasn't that expensive at €22 a night. All in all a great hotel with an old flair.
Very good new hotel in Wellington with nice rooms in an old, completely renovated building. Good location in the city center. Breakfast and bar service are very good. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I can recommend the hotel.
The hotel is located on the corner of a shopping street, in the city center, in a building built in the 30s of the 20th century. All major attractions are very close. The lower funicular station is opposite the hotel. It's worth noting that the interior of the hotel is more like a Hilton than a Double Tree, which is a small bonus. Breakfasts are decent with a wide variety and the ability to choose between continental and full buffet. There were some difficulties with the Internet, which had to be resolved by regularly reconnecting to the network
The people at the reception are extremely friendly from the moment you arrive, the hotel is in the center of the CBD, very nice, small but has everything. Very accessible staff. The bathroom in the room was super nice, the beds were very comfortable and the pillows were super comfortable. Everything perfect.
I arrived in Wellington on a late night flight and checked in with my colleagues who were traveling with me. The front desk staff told me that as a diamond card member, they upgraded me to a suite. ||The layout of the room is very strange, maybe because of the age of the floor. ||The service in the breakfast room is really great. The service in the breakfast room is really great. The service in the breakfast room is really great. If it is important, you must say it three times. The person who served me that day was a male waiter whose name seemed to be Indula. ||He is a very young and energetic young man. Because it was my first time to experience this kind of a la carte breakfast, some of the dishes were not clear to me, but he introduced them to me very enthusiastically. ||It was my first time coming to New Zealand and I saw a lot of unfamiliar fruits in the fruit section. Indula also helped me introduce the names of fruits. Before leaving, I specifically asked his name and told him that I would write him a review. I didn't expect it to take so long. ||Room service is also worthy of praise, when I wanted a little duck in the bathtub. I left a note with the room service staff and asked if I could take it with me. I went to Queenstown the next day and when I came back, I found that he also left me a note. Although I have never met him, I feel very friendly.
It is a great location for sightseeing and the restaurant course meal was very good.
I was happy to be able to eat comfortably with my family at the end of the year.
Very satisfied, the service was attentive and polite. The parking fee is $45, which is expensive, but convenient. Nearby hotels also cost $35-$40. The location is very good, with a small train available opposite. $25 for breakfast is acceptable. It's best not to drive here as there are many one-way routes.
The location was very good, but the room was a bit small. You can order drinks with two diamond vouchers. The shaking bed (twin) seems to be a characteristic of the New Zealand Hilton family.
Very friendly and helpful front desk, special thanks to Jayne at the front desk Helped us book the restaurant we wanted to eat, and also arranged a high-floor room for us||The hotel is in an old building, and the elevator has been renovated, but traces of the building's history can still be seen at the door; the guest rooms were recently renovated and are quite new. , stylish interior || The breakfast that comes with the room is a continental breakfast. You can exchange it for a full buffet breakfast for an extra ten New Zealand dollars. The eggs benedict is very good || The location is very convenient, with a supermarket opposite and a five-minute walk to the cable car. stand
The room is spacious and very clean. All the staff were kind and it was a very pleasant stay. The price is a little high, but I think the service is worth it.
The hotel is good, and well located, although it was difficult for us to find it because its street was under construction and the sign was barely visible.|The room was a little small but with all the services.|I have to say that the service was not very friendly. for the stars that the hotel has.|They offer little help and when we have asked something, they have not been very decisive.|We will give the chain another chance on another occasion since I believe they are a benchmark in hospitality.|
My wife and I were welcomed in a truly excellent manner by first-rate staff. They made us feel at home and I have to thank you for the welcome we received for our twelfth year of marriage
The room is big, and it feels a little too big. It seems like it's only been open for a year, so the facility was clean and the restaurant was delicious.
