j.I'm giving 5 stars to Intercontinental as it exceeded our expectation. The room we were assigned to was clean and feels homey. Our 8 months old baby enjoyed her shower in the bathroom and all of us were well rested from the trip because the bed is just so inviting and relaxing to sleep with. The staffs from the moment we entered the hotel were so accomodating and attentive to our needs. The breakfast menu is a bomb! We loved everything and I feel like I just went home back to my country because I tasted a pastry that has the same taste with the food I'm missing so much! So thank you intercontinental❤ We will definitely come back again for a longer stay. Highly recommended.

R.this is a fantastic hotel! it was really clean, was in a very convenient location and had lots of facilities. for me, i have really sensitive skin so most of the times when i enter hotels i feel something crawling on my face probably dust mites or something but at this hotel i felt great, no allergies whatsoever, so if you get allergic to like everything this is a hotel i would highly recommend. it was also in a really good location, its a walking distance to te papa, wellington museum, the beehive and more. therefore most of the time we were here we walked and didnt have to stress about parking. there was also a pool which my family really liked and a breakfast buffet which has really good food and the waiters there are all super great at their job and made the experience at this hotel super good :))

A.Fantastic service, polite, welcoming, warm, helpful staff.
Room was lovely, clean and tidy, with a window that opened. Its quite dated and in this respect dissappointing to me, given cost. I understand it is due to be refurbished and I look forward to a future visit. A relaxed quiet stay. Close to everything. And the bed is the best, relaxing and really comfortable. H.When we check in, our room was filled with other people’s luggages however the staff were able to sort it out very fast. The hotel rooms are relatively outdated and had some things to our inconvenience, the bathroom lock seemed oily making it hard to open, the lock also broke at times, making it hard to get out annoying and the main door was also difficult at times too. We also had times where we couldn’t connect to wifi, to compromise the gave us a wifi code leading to faster wifi. A.I had booked a room at the hotel for a night but faced multiple issues. Firstly, I was assigned the wrong room. The room I was assigned was much below the standards you would expect from an Intercontinental hotel. Shower curtains had yellow stains in the bottom third (likely indicating it hadn't been washed in months), missing accessories, part of the curtains were off the hook and very very old fixtures and furniture. Upon highlighting these issues to the staff, they upgraded me to a better room, which was much much better. After all this, I just wanted to double check my booking and realised I shouldn't have gotten the first room in the first place. I conveyed this at the reception while checking out and they confirmed the same. They couldn't understand why the system assigned that room to me. However, I would like to highlight that the staff were extremely accommodating and did their best to help.

D.Another enjoyable stay at our favourite New Zealand hotel. We feel part of the IHG family here. We have been visiting for some years for business and leisure. Our family also enjoy staying too. Covid has restrcted some service but we all accept and understand the reasoning. Health and safety is para.ount.
S.The Service was Excellent. The room was, at best, average. That all comes down to attention to detail, as in a Highly rated Hotel, there should be no decorative or maintenance issues, there should be 2 comfortable chairs and at least a small coffee table to relax at. Comparing the Intercontinental Hotels to others the Service would put it into the Top 3 but the room outside the top 10. Unsure if this was a one off so would be willing to stay again the next time in Wellington and hope the room improves as the Service was so good that alone would bring me back.

N.All areas were clean and tidy, friendly staff and delicious food. However, I do not believe this hotel is value for money. I believe at those prices the breakfast should be included. The spa baths were not that great or spacious. Spare sowing kits as opposed to spate toothbrushes which made no sense to me.
I did enjoy the gym and the swimming pool, spa and sauna are a positive addition.

P.Some of their rooms are old and tired looking. We stayed on level 4, avoid. Felt like a 3 star or lower. However, our friends stayed in level 8. Newly renovated and felt like an actual 4 to 5 star. Service was amazing, bell boy was superb. Front counter was professional. Breakfast buffet was decent with an okay selection of hot foods. Remember to wear your masks in the lobby, elevator and while you're getting your food.
The pool was bad for kids. It is 160cm deep everywhere. so supervise your young kids. Do not take your toddler or baby here if you're not tall. learnt the hard way. Their gym was well equipped and no one was using it for most of our duration.
Very centrally located being right next to most CBD attractions. 2 min walk to the nearest supermarket (Countdown), 10 min walk or less to Te Papa and 15 min drive to the Airport in non peak hours.
If you're in Wellington CBD, try Mevo. An app based pay as you go car hire. It was convenient for us and got to park right outside the hotel too.

I feel the hotel needs some work. I haven't stayed in this hotel for 1.5years and coming back to it , I was disappointed. You'd expect better for the price . Rooms were old , bath tub was not clean, wires hanging all over behind the tv - hazard for kids . I also did note that the Intercontinental flag outside was torn. It read "Intercontinent" !
