M.
Clean hotel with a decent size room. Great location and very central to so many great eateries. The additional use of the synergy gym just down the road is also really beneficial for this hotel. However the gym is a bit small though. Bed itself extremely comfortable however the pillows had a little bit to be desired for however not enough criticism to make it a four star review. All in all friendly staff, nice room, good food and all around really easy

The hotel is well located and have all what you need for have a good stay , the parking can be a bit tricky but the place offer a discount to use the park facility next door, which is very convenient. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was a bit uncomfortable but apart of this fussy detail everything was great.

Staff at the Novotel went above and beyond to find us a room for our family of 5 when our accommodation booked elsewhere fell through at 5.30pm on a Friday night. The manager was polite and helpful and managed to secure us a great rate, we were settled into our room half an hour after our initial phone call. They provided our young children with activity books and packs which were gratefully received. The room was spacious, clean and quiet, we couldn't have asked for more. We also opted for the breakfast option in the restaurant which was very generous portions and well run given the necessary Covid protocols in place. Location was fantastic, so central and easy to walk around Wellington even with young kids, valet carparking was also fantastic!
J.
Excellent customer service, rooms very clean and bed soooo comfortable, only issue was no windows and got really stuffy and air con didn't want to go below 18 degrees. Ordered room service to surprise my daughter on her 21st for her birthday breakfast and the food was exceptional!!
N.
Novotel the Terrace is fantastic, clean, reasonable prices and well located in the city, all Accor hotels are pretty good and I have stayed in this one more than a dozen times, great service too!
B.
Fantastic location, close to water front, Te Papa, shopping etc. Good menu for dinning in. Helpful and friendly staff. Recommend Novotel Wellington.
N.
Awesome hotel highly recommend it no discrimination to any1... Unlike the bolton hotel they could learn alot ffom novotel in treating people like human being's... Thanx guys uz rock...
P.
Nice and clean. Entrance from Lambton Quay could be more welcoming. Staff efficient and rooms clean
C.
Yes this is a great place to stay while visiting family and friends and enjoy watching the rugby 🏉 at the Cake Tin or if you prefer watching Cricket you can stay as well!❤️they have a lovely room and breakfast deal and we stayed and had the breakfast deal and when we got back to the hotel from having a great day out in Wellington and one of the staff members asked me if we would like dinner because I was looking at the menu and I said no thank you because we were still full from our breakfast 😂 😆 😝 lol it was lovely 🥰 and fulfilling
C.
Great room, very clean, nice view, awesome dessert
C.
Lovely hotel. Parking charges are $35 per night and you need to book ahead.
M.
Central location, tidy and very quiet rooms, easy walk to shops, dairy close by, cable car ride close for the kids.
M.
Thank you for the friendly and helpful service together with lovely meals .. great stay.
N.
Stayed for the weekend and had a good experience in terms of the service upon arrival, query about the car park and checking out this morning. Friendly staff and cleaners also did a good job cleaning our room. No free parking but we were given good option after we asked the staff. My only concern is, the beds are a bit soft and I think they need to be replaced otherwise everything was fine.
C.
Great room with city harbour views Great staff and food
A.
I was impressed with their breakfast. I am normally disappointed in hotel breakfasts. This one had all the ingredients for a salmon bagel and the hash browns were crunchy. Bed was grumpy.
C.
Really enjoying our stay. All the amenities at our fingertips. The bed is large and comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and the shower has great pressure. Car parking right next door just a small walk excellent staff and the restaurant is delicious too
Y.
Nice accommodation. Dinner menu is EXPENSIVE and not worth what your paying for. having to order everything separate. Its probably overdue for renovation...however the staff make up with their friendly customer-service.
D.
Parking is very challenging in Wellington. But very strategic in terms of location accessibility to stores and shops.
Front desk staff not too engaged with us. Almost bad experience. Hate to compare but Novotel Queenstown is way better as we had the best experience there at QT.
T.
Good stay. Had some issues with the key locks so was moved up a level. One elevator wasn't working which is not very ideal (2nd hotel without working elevator). Wasnt happy abt the pool being closed early on a Sunday (3pm!!). Attendant at the reception was helpful and friendly.
B.
We highly appreciate your excellent service and team support. Please thanks personally to one of your Duty Manager Karan who help us to organize parking t your hotel rather than hunting out somewhere.
D.
The room was great and we love the location. But the restaurant is our favourite. Amazing food for dinner - we were so impressed. Beautiful salmon and tender eye fillet steak.
L.
The rooms were very nice and the adjoining room for our disabled mother was excellent and something a lot of the other hotels didn't have. What made our stay was the amazing staff, they were so friendly and helpful and the service we received was outstanding. Our mum had left behind her wedding and sapphire rings, these were found and being returned, well done Novatel and thank you.
Regards
Oliver family.

Room is well furnished and clean with a bonus bathtub, breakfast tastes stale, as if it has been cooked in batches and then reheated every morning.
Definitely not worth $32, go out and get breakfast anywhere else.
L.
My husband I had T bone and Chicken Roulade each as well as two entrees to share. Beautiful food (steak was comparable to Jardin Grill) but servers should be mindful not to interrupt when the diners are having a conversation or at least have eye contacts before interrupting. Nothing serious but I thought this should better their service.
M.
Reasonable hotel in an ok location. Rooms were pretty clean with only minor faults, bed was comfortable. The place itself is a bit tired looking and have some strange things like getting fresh milk with a cup from the reception. Air conditioning won't go below 18c. Other than that, if you get it for a goid price, not too bad.
E.
Decent. Restaurant and reception decor are nothing flash but decent rooms and rooms seem to have good sound insulation as was not disturbed by other guests.
S.
The hotel is nicely located just next to the cable car, few minutes walk from the waterfront and just few minutes drive from the ferries to Picton.
We had a room on the 10th floor, decent space, clean, comfortable bed, comfortable bathroom. The rooms as well as the hotel have a contemporary style typical of the Novotel chain.
Staff was friendly and attentive.
Breakfast was basic but decent although the coffee at was way below average.
Would we stay again? Yes
D.
Great service.looked after very well
A.
Loved the stay, the food and the service!
j.
Stayed in Novotel Wellington for 3 nights . Journey from check-in to checkout went very well.i would like to thanks Abhishek and Puneeth for making my stay memorable and amazing . I would like to thanks restaurant and kitchen team for the amazing food and service . Last but not the least housekeeping team for amazing work as well. Keep it up Novotel team . I will be back for sure .
K.
Was a nice stay. What put it down was after our 40 minute wait after ordering breakfast it was still going to be another 15. We had to cancel our order. The reason this was such an issue is because others who entered and ordered after us were happily eating there's.
A.
Beds are way too soft. Room size is ok. Sleep walkers dinner menu lacking creativity ended up getting Uber eats.
D.
Excellent in terms of location and cleanliness. Our room had a view of the city and harbor. Walkable to most attractions. They gave us complimentary drinks every night. Only issue was rooms were a bit small. Staff was quite friendly and helpful. Maintenance is at par with accor hotels standard.
S.
Rooms were good and clean. Beds were small, reason being there was a mattress 'topper' or similar that was slightly smaller than the mattress, hence I felt like I was going to roll right off onto the floor. The breakfast was just OK, infact well stocked but as we were up very early the food felt very dry (like it had been prepared hours earlier and kept hot. Otherwise staff were all very friendly and efficient and the room was in a good condition.
C.
Can't go wrong with Novotel in general, but Wellington staff went over and above with a slice of cake waiting for my son to wish him a happy birthday! They also recovered a toy left behind and held onto it until a friend picked it up. Clean, comfortable and in a handy location.
B.
Room and service was good
But only valet parking $35 a night at the hotel Parking available next door $25 a day
S.
Great location. Great service friendly staff
T.
Luxury room for a good price. Helpful staff, very clean and brilliant location. Will definitely be staying here again next trip!
N.
Pretty overpriced, was $150 for a night and still had to pay for WiFi, shower temp fluctuated but the bed was amazing... Love the lighting and the plug sockets are well positioned. Couldn't hear any outside noise either. We got off the ferry from Picton after 4am and still got a room for 5am! Great but overpriced.
B.
Great Hotel, with lift access to Lambton Quay. They also have installed safes in the rooms so you can store your valuables. Very good location, only a walk away from stores and tourist attractions. There is also a restaurant, bar and computers available for use downstairs as well as underground parking (although this is at an additional cost). Lastly, the staff are very friendly and always carry a smile on their faces.
N.
Fourth time I've stayed here and I have loved it every time. Fantastic location, a couple of doors away from Countdown Supermarket, bus stop right outside, within walking distance of the I site, Cable Car, Parliament Buildings, Te Papa and much more.
Friendly staff, lovely sized rooms, quiet, clean and comfortable. Beds are super comfortable and rooms have a good, reliable Air Con unit.
Room service meals are fantastic, the beef burger and the fish and chips are amazing. You should definitely also try the Anzac cookie dessert, it's divine!! Vegetarian pizza is also tasty and delicious.
If you prefer you can dine downstairs at Caucus restaurant or have a drink at the bar.
I realise that you want guests to dine at the restaurant however some cutlery/plates in the rooms would be handy for those few occasions where people want to bring in their own food. Also a cheaper breakfast option for those who dont want to always do the full buffet would be good.
Only other 'negative' comment would be that some of the little 'personal' touches seem to have stopped...as an Accor member I used to receive a wee personal welcome note in my room...not a huge deal but it made us feel a bit special :)
H.
This was a nice, very central hotel to stay in. The rooms were tidy and spacious, and we had 10th floor views overlooking the harbour, what more could we ask for? There were plenty of shops and restaurants around, as well as the well-known attraction the Wellington Cable Car, just a few doors down from the Lambton Quay Entrance. Late check-in and the Mac Availability was great too. The buffet was fantastic, and the scrambled eggs were the best I have ever had at a hotel, you just need to add a pinch of salt. The pastry section could be slightly improved, however, the fruit section was amazing, and the overall food quality was exceptional. The Countdown was very close also, and the staff are somewhat friendly, however, as we ate later at the buffet, they were rushing us to finish. The only negatives of the hotel really are the limited facilities. Although there are Macs available for use, there are only 2 and there is a 20 minute time limit. There is no pool, and the parking is atrocious. The price of it is inflated, and it is very limited. The TV doesn't work very well, and the WiFi makes you reconnect every time you leave the Hotel. I think overall though, this stunning location in the heart of Wellington, with access to both Lambton Quay and the Terrace, gives a recommendation to this hotel, even though the value for money only just scrapes in due to the high price.
G.
The welcoming manager went out of his way to make our stay Enjoyable. Would not consider this hotel 4.5 stars but it was clean and well presented. Location would suit a business trip.
J.
Very impressed with my stay here. The room was wonderful, and the service was excellent. The eating options in the building were ok, but I’d probably look elsewhere for breakfast next time. Plenty of better options than buffet in walking distance.
Speaking of walking distance... the place is a little weird to get to by foot. Walking through the building next door and up/down seemingly random elevators.
M.
This hotel is located near shops. We did not see a concierge desk or anyone to help us with our luggages. Good thing our friend pointed us to the side entrance where we can wheel our luggages as opposed to lifting them thru the steps by the main entrance. Service was friendly. I loved the bed and the pillows. The buffet breakfast was good.
N.
Clean and tidy but very dated in desperate need of a lift and foyer refurb. Restaurant was good but limited menu with only ok service but not at a standard the novatel name suggests (not a patch on Christchurch novatel). Ibis is much nicer.
J.
So close to city - once you know how!
Windows that don’t open, no fresh air, room was stuffy
Car park next door was really difficult to use and we didn’t get any information …
L.
Conceierge needs a bit of attention. The girl on 26th was good but the 2 indian men on were not as good. One told me my companion had checked out so was looking for her and she had not checked out.Maybe I am a bit pedantic having won NZ LOTTERY RETAILER OF YEAR 1996 I also was mystery shopped out of 640 outlets and scored 100%.and for 9 years in top 3 or 5 through to 2000.
s.
Nice city centre hotel. The location's great for city centre bars, cafes and restaurants. All the shops are close by as you're right in the heart of the city. The rooms are good, there's a decent bar and restaurant area. The staff where welcoming and friendly. And there's a car park right next door. A good base for a city break.
杨.
This novotel not as good as the novotel in Christchurch, Queenstown, Tekapo Auckland,Rotorua. But still remain the same standards of service with others.
The topping of bathroom is not enough, only have shampoo, soap and body wash don't have hair conditional and body lotion. The room don't have sleeping robe, slippers ect vanity kits. Compared with other novotel in nationwide.
S.
It has been a long time since we have been so impressed with a hotel as we were with our stay at the Novotel Wellington.
We arrived early having come from Auckland and we were able to register prior to check in and leave our luggage while we headed out to explore Wellington, they could text us once the room was ready which was a great option. The staff were very welcoming and explained where we were and the local attractions near to the hotel. They also highlighted the elevator behind the restaurant which allows you to get down to Lambton Key (the hotel is on the Terrace).
We stayed for around 5 nights which allowed us to really experience the culture and service the Wellington Novotel offers. Its easy to say we were consistently impressed throughout our stay, from the regular greetings we received, to the house keeping team leaving a lovely note, or the themed headphones the kids were given randomly at breakfast. Each interaction felt genuine, and with our interests at the forefront.
To move to the room experience, we were happy with our room location and facilities. We were placed right down the end of the hall way which, when as traveling as a family was a perfect location, as it minimizes our kids disruptions on other guests. Our room had WiFi which was perfect and it is great to see hotels finally embracing WiFi as a free (and not capped) and expected feature of a room.
How else could I tag myself and the hotel in a post on FB/IG etc a a visitor to NZ without extra effort?
The bathroom was perfect and its great to actually have a bathtub included in the room. We suggest you walk down Lambton Key to "Lush" and pick up a few bath products and head back to your room for relaxation.
Each day we received the paper which was a nice touch.
The downsides of the room? Well, the TV was quite terrible in image quality and sound and far from where I expected it to be. I expect TVs to be one of the most important room features.
Our room at night was quite noisy with wind blowing away and although I didn't feel it myself I was told it actually felt like it shook (not EQs) throughout the night.
Finally, I guess the rooms are not super family friendly with it being 2 beds in the same space.Just be aware of it.
The hotel bar area is perhaps the most awkward I have experienced in terms of layout, feeling over our stay as limited in size and relaxation (seating) options. It was however, staffed by the same level of attentive and caring staff we experienced throughout our stay. The most pleasant surprise were the prices and range during 'happy hour', which short of a very disappointing experience on the last day, we found to be reasonable and very progressive for a hotel.
We had breakfast included in our stay, which proved to be a superb addition. Our kids were included and actually were able to enjoy a lot of kid friendly breakfast options. The breakfast options were standard fair for a hotel buffet but were, with the exception of one morning cooked fresh and to expectations. I think if I could level any suggestions it would be to make it easier to order variations of egg dishes and perhaps offer a rotating dish or two on the main buffet. There were a load of breads, fruits, cereals, cooked foods, cheese, drinks and gluten free options.
On to the complaints, which were minor I guess. During our stay, one elevator broke down the day we arrive, and was not usable for our entire stay. This was actually quite frustrating, and only really helped by the fact the housekeeping staff kept swiping us into the service elevator. We faced rather large waits at any point we tried to use the elevators and normally I would expect an issue such as this to be fixed much sooner but since it was over new years we gave them the benefit of the doubt.
Overall we had a wonderful stay, and will definitively be staying here again. The minor inconveniences could not out way the outstanding service and experience we have had here.
A.
The staff were so friendly & checkin was super simple. Absolute prime location with just an elevator ride down to the centre of town. Definitely recommend the suite on Level 10!
S.
I'm not familiar with Wellington hotels, but have always had great service from the Novotel chain. 133 The Terrace was just as good. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are worthy of the 4 star classification. I had breakfast from the buffet there both mornings of my stay. The breakfast menu is comprehensive and not expensive. It is on a hill so not the easiest location to walk to, but you can take the lift in the neighbouring James Cook and that will get you right to the CBD.
P.
Great location right in the cbd, price competitive for the area, room was spotless with great amenities. Room service meals were generous (too generous!), fresh and good quality. Desk service was friendly and quick and an offer to store luggage or any help with travel etc was nice.
D.
Clean easy accommodation with great breakfast.
M.
The Novotel is located in the heart of Wellington, making it insanely convenient to get to the Terrace or to Lambton Quay's shopping area. The room itself was clean, spacious and well-lit (an issue in a lot of hotel rooms I've been to). The view from my room on the 8th floor was pleasant - the houses on the hill but obstructed by a few tall buildings. Excellent service, both from front-of-house and cleaning staff. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. That said, I took off a star because I think the decor is outdated compared to newer hotels.
J.
Good hotel mostly but some plugs in room weren't working. Was pretty clean though
J.
This hotel in centrally placed and ideal base to explore Wellington especially if you don't have a car. Our room was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Just a few minor niggles. There was not enough pottles of milk in the room and only 3 tea bags. At breakfast the coffee machine had broken down and there was no decaffeinated option.
K.
Had a wonderful experience here, we were very well looked after by staff and enjoyed the yummy food created here, will definitely stay here again if I'm back in Wellington again, the only thing is these motels dont have any cooking facilities or micriwave
N.
Stayed at this hotel for a business trip. It is well placed for most local amenities but if you are looking for the nightlife you will have to walk a few hundred metres in to the heart of town. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The staff are helpful the even found me a USB lead for my phone as I had forgotten mine.
D.
After a mediocre stay at another hotel down the road, I checked into Novotel. Excellent service, comfortable bed, compact but manageable room, tidy bathroom and nice view.
Potentially could upgrade shower/TV, but other than that, good stay.
F.
Good hotel in city centre, nice clean rooms and good bathroom. Room rate is very reasonable for quality of hotel. Staff were very helpful and even let us park our van in the drop off zone. Wifi is not free which is unacceptable in 2018, when even most motels provide free wifi. Deal breaker for me, won't be returning unless wifi is free. There was graffiti under the sink as well. Attached is an example of one of the graffitis.
D.
the price of the place is a tad expensive and for the star rating that it has and the branding you would expect something a little top notch. The rooms were nice and tidy and cleaned everyday which was nice. they even held our bags for us after we checked out as we had a flight in the evening. Would say that only down points were that the rooms were very small and the TV had stopped one of the nights and had to be reset. Also would recommend they upgrade their pillows as it feels like your sleeping without one and made it really hard to sleep
G.
Nice place good food and nice service 👍🙂
D.
We had a mini break here over the weekend and it was perfect. The room was a good size and had everything we needed. The bathroom even had a bath which is unusual in hotels.
As an Accor member I'm always really well looked after and it was lovely to have a small welcome gift and personalised greeting card waiting for us. The membership is also great for half price dining in the hotel restaurant. The food was superb and the service impeccable.
There's a convenient lift by the restaurant that takes you down to Lambton Quay and is open 7:15am to 10:30pm. Just a short walk down Lambton Quay is a supermarket. close by is the Cable car entrance, it's a must to take the trip up to the top to see the view of Wellington. It's spectacular.
I'd definitely stay at this hotel again
B.
When I book a hotel, the first thing that I look is the room photos. The photos on their website seems like staged and only shot at their best looking room. I would've assumed since they are old photos, the room's current condition wouldn't be the same. But not this hotel! It is as seen in its website! Luxurious, spacious, neat, clean, and reasonably priced! This is what I call 'Brand Image'. Novotel is worthy of their name. The service was also excellent! The greatest thing is they have their own elevator access to the main street! Totally recommended and will stay there again.
A.
When we arrived at reception their were 2 long lines..pushed right back to th main entrance doors.. The two male receptionist were very nice, but the service was very slow, as one of the receptionist had to go out & valet Park the cars.. We had to pay $100 bond plus $35 per night for valet parking..Elevators are slow & theirs always a queue..The beds are comfortable..The room was nice & modern..my children didn't like the curtains as the design looked like a blood scene..Ordered room service, their plates need a serious upgrade(brown & mismatched)..& my steak meal wasnt that great..(also had to do our washing at the Ibis Hotel)
M.
Clean, comfortable, and convenient. Love the easy access to downtown from the rear elevators. Would definitely recommend booking for a weekend as you can leave the car overnight on the street and have until 10am the next morning to move it before you have to pay.
H.
High quality hotel in a convenient location. We stayed three nights and loved our time at the Novotel. The staff were very helpful, rooms were clean and tidy, and the hotel in central located with access onto Lampton Quay. The breakfast buffet was really good value and quality.
R.
Quite a nice hotel. Easy to find from the highway. Located in the shopping precinct, room is good sized, the restaurant is really nice, great food, and the staff here have a great eye for detail as I found out, . . Only thing is the harbour view rooms if they are a twin don't have a separate shower, but the bath is low enough, unless you really have problems lifting your leg. Opt for king room or one facing the St.
S.
Nice. Personally I dislike shower/bath combos, this hotel despite recent upgrade, can only offer this bathroom type.
Update on next visit. Thank you was given a disabled room (I don’t need one - hope I didn’t block someone who did - Sorry!). Hotel staff say these are the only rooms with non bath showers. FFS, is this seriously a modern Accor brand hotel?
So called room service 10pm. There was no RS menu in room. I hoped, as an Accor upper level hotel, there would be the usual choices of burger, toasted sandwich, club sandwich, chips, Hmmm no, Novotel Wellington has only Butter Chicken on offer at this time of night. I didn’t want a curry, didn’t have a menu and staff couldn’t find a way to inform me what they had for sale at this late hour, so we called a truce and it was a No Deal.
FFS, I hate my company for sending me back here, I hate the bathroom amenities and now the kitchen/room service I find is not what I expect from Accor.
D.
Great budget hotel that's centrally located. Kids stay free. There's an elevator that takes you directly to Lambton Quay. Bathroom is small and the door to the bathroom opens toward the toilet, making using it a bit of a pain. Room itself is spacious enough and beds are comfortable. WiFi and breakfast are not free but are available for an additional fee.
M.
Good location. Good facilities. Great service. But I was disappointed with the surcharge of 2% on top of my credit charge of 3.85%. To her credit reception removed the hotel surcharge. But i was still appalled with the credit charge as we had a Travelex card and we thought the additional charges would be minimal or zero.
J.
Nice and clean.beautiful meals
Bed too high for the disability unit
Very difficult getting in/out!
Bathroom very good
S.
It's a great hotel in a great location the city. Furnished stylishly and modern. The only downside is you have to time when you shower, otherwise there is no hot water. Surely a hotel of their size can cater for all guests showering between 7-8am
R.
Very nice place. Rather useful to have a lift from the main street up to the hotel, or it would be a steep climb as the hotel is on top of a big hill. Lift operated by room key, so security also very good.
P.
Hotel exactly what it tries to be. Very good business hotel in excellent location. Staff excellent. Rooms very comfortable. Bar and restaurant area fits the part.
Room pricing generally very good, especially via Accor membership.
Recommended.
R.
Overnight business trip. The rooms were stripped of the mini bars, fresh milk, compendiums etc due to Covid-19 precautions, although Wellington is not under an alert level. There were a couple of hairs in the shower and the banoffee pie in the bar downstairs was horrible (a very thick layer of cream on a soggy base, no caramel and some weird tasting preserved banana lengths on top, I'm a bit of a banoffee freak so this was not my jam at all), but the rooms were otherwise clean, the very large bed was comfortable, toiletries were provided, some UHT milk pods were provided, and the concierge and bar staff were very nice and helpful.
M.
From the minute we entered the doors there were welcoming smiles hellos how was yr journey. Fabulous greeting .Lifted our spirits up straight away...as we had just got of one of those horrific flights into Wellington Airport.
We were there for 3 day 2 nights and the service the smiles the helpfulness was outstanding..The only reason i couldn't give t stars is the house keeping side wasn't up there ..Dust on glass shelves..definitely hadn't been cleaned in a while..used products in bathroom ..bathroom didnt shine clean feeling..sink not good .. The room just didn't have that clean crisp feeling ..
But i would definitely stay there again..👍😊
A.
It's a bit basic and could do with a freshening up. The central location is a big plus. The staff are a real credit to Novotel Wellington. The two reception staff we encountered on our stay were friendly and very helpful as were the staff in the dining area.
S.
This is my preferred hotel for staying in Wellington. Since my first visit the staff have always been helpful and accommodating. The many changes frequently enough to keep me curious. The rooms are spacious, and make me feel comfortable even if it’s a long day or evening of working.
T.
The breakfast is good. The hotel is located at the heart of the city. You can park you car there but you have to pay $25 a day. The central government buildings , supermarket, department store, national museum and the cable car are all in 15 mins walking distance.
A.
the views from my room on the tenth floor?
Fantastic!!! Service? Great too!
P.
Easy access from central CBD Breakfast buffet also a traffic area for new guests or guests accessing Lambton Quay but adds to the caucus feel. Rooms standard as normal Novotel. Great views Great staff Valet service spot on
w.
Hotel was pretty average. The rooms were clean and tidy and they even waived the charges for the Wifi. The only complaint would be the parking. Carpark was not under the hotel and the parking space were mostly reserved and small.
A.
Rooms are a bit dated, but the staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Car park is $25/day, valet is $35/day. Fitness center is tiny, but clean and functional.
M.
Apart from waiting at reception half an hour when we arrived.which was annoying as we had to get ready for a wedding! The hotel is lovely though.
D.
Friendly and efficient reception. Check in a breeze. Great family dinner good wine choices and good choices on the menu for all ages. Highly recommended.
D.
Really friendly staff, nice clean room. Nice having free Wi-Fi (so important these days).
Lovely breakfast. Bar prices were ridiculous.😀
S.
Clean rooms, ancient elevators, the stereo in the rooms are from the times of iPhone 4, can't connect any modern device to it. Great location, helpful staff.
J.
Very nice room, friendly staff. Will be staying here again for sure
B.
Absolutely fantastic hot breakfast. Clean and modern rooms with beds that feel like clouds! We thoroughly enjoyed the customer service, accommodation and close proximity to attractions.
T.
Clean tidy rooms in good repair. Fairly small rooms but ok. Good AV setup allowing connection of your phone or laptop both wired and wireless. Wifi was very fast.
F.
Fair for the price but no parking on site and facilities are a bit dated. Most of the hotel staff are friendly. Limited options for breakfast and service was average.
T.
The room we stayed had the "city view" which means we get to see city buildings, so watch out if you are expecting a view of the bay. Front desk, dining and room services are reasonably prompt and pleasant, but we had to wait the longest (20 minutes) for the porter to pick up our large baggage. The included breakfast is satisfactory as the selection is well-maintained and presented. Being on The Terrace side of the CBD helps avoid the traffic on Lambton Quay but this also means having to take the lifts at the corner of the restaurant to get to the Lambton Quay. The doors on the lower side close at 10:30PM and you would have to use the alternate lift 50m to the left and coming out of James Cook Hotel. The worst point in my experience is that my bed had fleas. The Novotel is decent and small so it's not exactly luxury if you are looking for that.
G.
In my personal experience I really enjoyed this place, the attention was great since the beginning, the people in the reception area was so nice, so helpful, the hotel was clean, the food was good, I recommend this hotel.
K.
Average hotel, lighting in rooms was horrible if you are trying to work, handy location to most things.
L.
Definitely going back, easy to find, central, nice rooms, helpful staff & the room service food was the best!
t.
a fab hotel with. great staff. rooms are a,good size

Great continental breakfast and room service. Only issue is the cost of internet access. The free Wi-Fi access in the lobby only provides 8mb (barely enough for notifications) but they have free internet kiosks which was great. Only restriction on the kiosks was a time limit of 20 mins.
S.
Internet issues- couldn’t keep a business Skype call going between 9:30pm and 10:30 pm. Some wireless issues. Tv didn’t work and needed to be reset. $250 per night. Caesar salad good $20 and receptionist good. Not my best experience at this price. :(
L.
Just needs a pool! Great to have lift access to Lambton Quay. Fantastic service. Clean rooms. Will be back.
T.
Hotel is well positioned and rooms are nice and large. Cleaning though wasn’t the best and definitely not attentive enough for a Novotel
D.
Nice hotel for the price, parking is a little difficult. You have to park at a third party site. When leaving we were then asked to pay the parking company, when we had already paid the hotel.
K.
From the moment we walked in staff friendly and helpful. Room nice and very comfortable. Close to all amenities and food fantastic at restaurants. 5 stars
A.
Very Good Hotel would recommend it to everyone so close to everything
P.
Location and friendly staff - good. Taste and quality of food and beverage at restaurant/bar, selection of breakfast - so so.
No free wifi - ...... isn't it business hotel in central business district?
J.
Very nice rooms and great breakfasts too! Wish the Internet lasted longer though and allowed more data. Service is reasonable also. Probably one of the best stays in Wellington
I.
GREAT LOCATION, FRIENDLY STAFF AND MODERN FACILITY
Novotel Wellington has fantastic rooms. Large, good working space, modern, clean and full of tech. Nifty elevator down to Lambton Quay at the back of the hotel.
F.
An excellent room, more targeted at the business market but great facilities and very tidy.Close to Lambton Quay and cable car attraction is just a few steps away.Has an elevator past the restaurant that takes you down to the other side of the terrace.Handy to lots of good eateries.
D.
Convenient location, can take elevators from Lanton Quay to get close to Novotel. For exercise, they provide running /walking maps, yoga videos for exercising in your room or use the gym. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. There is a bar /restaurant in the hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
T.
Lovely and clean, very comfy beds and pillows. Very quiet rooms. And right in the heart of Wellington, perfect for shopping and cafes, could walk to waterfront fir event.
J.
Staff very welcoming, room was great, bed very comfy, would've liked firmer pillow. Restaurant - food was superb. Enjoyable stay.
B.
A nice hotel located in the city! Very friendly and helpful staff. A pity that they have to endure the horrible elevators that take one down to Lambton Quay.
S.
Hotel rooms were fantastic with an amazing view, however it felt like the room was lacking some amenities like forks or tissues. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Wellington.
M.
Rooms are great, service is friendly and professional. Decent restaurant and bar. For the same price I have stayed in slightly better hotels.
S.
Lovely room, comfy bed and so close to shops and cafes, venues and restaurants.
D.
Comfortable few days stay.
M.
Very good and staff very good.
P.
Nice decent size room for 4 of us with 2 double beds. Shame the breakfast is a bit expensive at 25 NZD/person.
K.
Excellent location. Clean and modern hotel. Food is good. Only negative is staff are not the happiest but they are always there to help
B.
Nice spot, great weekend price and kids got breakfast free. Couldn't ask for more than that.
P.
Incredibly dated, has an old age home smell to it. Staff were friendly and attentive. I would not stay here again unless renovated.
K.
Hotel with direct lift access to Lamton quay. Good breakfast selections. Newly renovated shower. Good cable channels for kids. But soft pillows.
L.
Good location and clean and tidy. And management acknowledged promptly any concerns. 5 stars for the effective management in place
J.
Love staying here, welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, accommodating in every way and always get a good nights sleep. Delicious food too.
P.
Excellent Hotel in the heart of Wellington shopping district; within a walking distant to Cuba Street; easy access to the Cable Car and Wellington Botanical Garden; excellent services especially valet parking!
S.
Comfortable clean hotel in central Wellington represents good value for money. Staff five stars. Food good, not outstanding. Close to Lambton Quay stop for the Wellington cable car.
C.
Lovely clean modern room and bathroom with proper lighting and good number of electrical outlets. Very comfortable and very good location.
J.
Good service, nice room, clean and importantly comfortable bed
W.
Had a nice stay room was modern and well equipped. The bathroom was good and modern. Breakfast buffet was well stocked and tasty.
S.
Excellent service. Convenient access to everything in the middle of the city.
K.
I have stayed at the Novotel many times on trips to Wellington and it's a first class hotel. Rooms are always clean and the staff is always friendly.
P.
Perfect location so easy to shop Lambton Quay then back for pre dinner drinks. Great staff good selection of wines a bed that welcomes you and that you will not want to get out of
B.
Another great stay
T.
Good Location, good food, comfort bed and very clean but for me that i work in a 4.5 stars hotel also, i was dissappointed that there was no shower cup and bathrobe.
H.
Awesome place to stay everything is in good walking distance to the beehive and the cable car, Te Papa, the room we had is so warm and cozy and we had an awesome sleep and the king size bed was very cozy being my birthday we decided to have tea here at the hotel the meal was awesome totally enjoyed it, we will definitely be back sometime next year.
M.
Very impressed. Comfortable room, great checkin, nice food and people. Central location. Will be back.
C.
The perfect location in the CBD. Close to the cable car to go up to be botanical gardens. Only ten minutes walk to the waterfront and fifteen minutes walk to Te Papa. Clean rooms, quiet and a tasty buffet breakfast.
n.
Is in a good location in the city. Room was clean and what we expected. Buffet breakfast was quite good. Good value for money.
t.
2nd time staying here...its central very clean...spotless even the staff are so genuine and warm....and its not forced.....the beds are super comfy the shower good and hot..cant fault it....AAAAAA+++++
K.
Staff were lovely. Rooms were nice too. The only problem would be the lifts were kind of confusing sometimes, but other than that it was nice.
B.
Service was Very Good. Room was Immaculate and The Bed was like a cloud
M.
Staff was great. In a good location and easy to walk everywhere you might want to go. Front desk has maps.
N.
Pleasant rooms, though a shame so many only have shower baths. Beds comfortable. Lift pretty slow.
C.
Pleasantly surprised with this hotel
Rooms are spacious, clean and well presented
Bed was sumptuous and bigger than a normal king size
.had a fabulous sleep
Bathroom lovely, but need to ask for a non slip mat as not readily supplied..plus water was very hot so start off cold or you will be scalded.but it was a good shower
Only downside with hotel is I found service in restaurant very slow .
J.
Rooms look a bit dated but nevertheless an amazing central location, a nice restaurant and bar, and great service.
D.
Loved the buffet breakfast, awesome location, valet parking, room was great so was the King Size Bed and the staff were friendly as.......
J.
Only limited free WiFi in the lobby. Room smelled like petrol for some reason??!! Breakfast was good, staff very friendly.
L.
Friendly staff, close to everything.. find out about the lift down to shops, it will save alot of walking.
D.
The bed sheets and and mattress are both outdated and worn down. the restaurant is average at best. Service is above average but still incovinient at times.
L.
Compliments to the barman! He looked after our team of 16 extremely well, and with ease. Thank you so much for your great service!!
B.
Good mid range hotel. Like all the others a total rip off during the Lions tour. Small bar and OK food but rooms make up for it.
j.
Good Novotel. With a lift to Lamb ton Quay. Big tour parties tend to dominate the restaurant..... so dine late! Good rooms.
T.
Great service. Clean and tidy room.
Food good
G.
So easy to get into the city.
Nice rooms, pretty good breakfast.
Awesome front of house staff.
C.
We had a great stay. Nice rooms. Good breakfast
B.
Not that great a place, seems like a hostel not a hotel. Rooms were clean but staff needs to be more courteous.
A.
No complaints but we weren't blown away. You get what you pay for. Lovely restaurant
R.
A nice 4.5 star hotel. Good selection of Sky TV/ cable channels and nice that you can take the back elevator to get to Lambton Quay.
L.
Has free access to Pressreader. Download the app and access hundreds of magazines/newspapers from around the world. Haven't seen this in other hotels but was a great addition.
S.
Rooms and location were good but didnt really suit a family orientated holiday. For the business type people it is ideal.
E.
Not sure why the room is decorated as a crime scene... The staff is friendly enough. Bed is comfortable.
B.
Comfortable room, hotel is very handy to downtown Wellington. The restaurant served a good breakfast and dinner too.
J.
Nice friendly staff for room service

Exactly what you expect from a Novotel. Functional and clean, polite staff, restaurant menu could really do with an overhaul.
