Great location and facilities except WiFi service. Very confusing entrance. Another hotel−Quality hotel is also in the same building. Google map got the location wrong. Says Aro st. I had to drive around extra 20-30 min to find this hotel after dark.

A historical place that has been refurbished. Whether or not the "out there" decor is to your taste, the place is exceptionally warm for a wellington hotel. It is also clean and neat as a pin. The breakfast is somewhat disappointing though, and the room small. Would consider another Stat due to good location.
S.
Good quality hotel on Cuba street. Room small but clean, no air conditioning so would be a hot box in summer. We had an express breakfast added to our room rate so that was a nice surprise. Went swimming in the pool and sat us spa for a long time last night. Desk staff and restaurant staff all helpful and friendly

I stay here a couple of times a month. It's not flash but by far the best value in the CBD. The rooms are very small but generally clean. The only times I've regretted staying here is on hot nights, when air conditioning would really help. That said, summer only arrives in Wellington every few years, so that's not a big concern! The amazing food options very close by are the highlight of staying here.
S.
The rooms were really high quality, spacious and well furnished. The actual hotel feels a little dated though, in terms of fixtures and general decor. Also, there's a lot of construction noise at the moment, so keep that in mind when booking.

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and tidy as was the bathroom. Shower was great, supplied liquid soap for body and hair, shower cap, heated towel rail. Room had a double bed which was very comfortable (firm). Room had tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer and iron. Very small open wardrobe but adequate. Location is amazing, very central, easy shopping, cafe's, restaurants and sightseeing. Would stay there again.

I stayed here for four nights on a business trip, so I didn’t pay for it myself, but given I work for a government ministry you can take it the C Hotel is not expensive. I had a King Split room, which means the room has twin beds that can be pushed together to form a king-size bed. There is a noticeable seam that you can feel if you lie in the middle but it isn’t uncomfortable. I slept well. The room was extremely plain. The bed didn’t even have a duvet cover or bedspread; the blankets were simply covered by another bedsheet. The walls and curtains were all the sort of pale mushroom beige that feels like an absence of colour. In short, if the aesthetic appeal of your room is an important part of your enjoyment of a trip, if you want it to be romantic or fun or to feel like a special treat, do not bother with this place, but if you only want a basic and reasonably comfortable place to sleep and the point of your trip is outside the hotel room, you could be quite satisfied.
I found everything clean and was favourably impressed by the fierce water pressure in the shower (although I would prefer a door to a curtain which tended to waft against my legs). The ironing board was pretty good! (I don’t know why that impressed me, my expectations of a hotel room ironing board must have been unconsciously low.) There was liquid hand soap at the sink and another dispenser of it in the shower but no shampoo, conditioner or lotion provided, so don’t count on any of that when you pack. Soundproofing is a bit of an issue; I wasn’t disturbed most of the time but late on the Thursday night there was some slight, intermittent hullabaloo in Cuba Street and someone on my floor had their TV on rather loudly. A white noise app helped. Because my visit was in May I didn’t have the problem of heat and stuffiness in the room that other reviewers mention. I was actually a bit cold one night and glad there was an extra blanket provided on top of the wardrobe.
The room service continental breakfast is decent and surprisingly generous with the yoghurt - a cereal bowl of it, not just a plastic pottle. I had to ask for a new breakfast order card at reception each day rather than one being left by housekeeping when they tidied up, which seemed like an oversight. The staff were polite and helpful. The restaurant seemed to be permanently or at least long-term closed, with a sign up saying you could get food at the bar, although the website makes it appear there’s a full restaurant on the premises. The best point about this hotel is its location in the midst of the restaurants and shops of Cuba Street and in walking proximity of the city centre and waterfront, which is extremely convenient, and you would probably rather eat in any of those restaurants than a hotel’s own restaurant anyway.
All in all I would call it perfectly adequate, and while that’s faint praise sometimes it’s all you need.

Great location, very near downtown Wellington. The room was small(ish) but comfortable and clean. They allowed us to leave our bags both before check in and after check out. The staff was friendly. They have a pool.
L.
Wonderful apartment, heaps of room and loved having good an en-suite in our bedroom. Great large kitchen (if only I needed to use it), but definitely will consider this hotel when I bring my children back for a Wellington holiday. Charming yesteryear villa style. But still modern enough. A little syreet noise, but bedroom was in a good position to block most of the noise. I didn't use the pool, but other guests in my room did & enjoyed it. Love the electric car/motorbike charging stations!
t.
Room was smaller than expected but in good condition and very clean. Staff are without fail excellent, friendly and helpful. Walking access to all of Cuba st etc. So many restaraunts it's amazing. (Grill Meats Beer, and Seoul Town highly recommended) Faults are parking can be tricky, same as everywhere in Wellington CBD. Our room had a leaky toilet which filled noisily at all hours and next to elevator shaft which also was noisy. Beautiful old building in good condition but being earthquake strengthened. Overall very happy and good value for the price.
L.
I love this location deep in the heart of Cuba St! Great food places all around! Friendly staff. Beds good. Showers OK. It irks me they only provide liquid soap and shampoo - take your own hand soap with you! Included breakfast good :-)
C.
Centrally located in heart of Wellington's entertainment district, environmentally conscious, courteous staff. Rooms do not have minibar, air conditioning, toothbrush and toothpaste, but are clean and cosy. Good value for a conveniently located room to return to each night.
C.
The rooms are a bit dated and the rooms needed a aircon desperately as you cant leave the windows open with the strong winds and the rooms get stuffy. Pool needs to be repainted. Staff were the only thing that saved this from a worse rating. Staff were helpful, friendly and pleasant
D.
Good location in the heart of Wellington but the hotel could do with a major overhaul. The decor in the room was outdated and cleanliness could have been improved- quite a bit of dust everywhere and the windows were old and made a lot of noise in the Wellington winds.
Bathroom was ok but shower curtain needed replacing.
S.
If you're looking for new and modern then this isn't your place. Right in the heart of town its handy to public transport and a vast array of shops. The rooms are dated (after all it IS advertised as 1900's) but cheaper than elsewhere. The breakfast bar was the best I'd seen in a NZ tour in 2017!
S.
As usual, the staff are very helpful though this time the room was badly organised. There was a suitcase stand in the room with nowhere to put it that didn't get in the way.
Getting in and out of the room was a mission in its self. You had to half open the door then shuffle around it as you close the door. This caused me to knock a cup of coffee the table.
Still, we only sleep there
K.
Excellent gluten free buffet for lunch, excellent cheese/cracker board grapes dried figs tomatoes absolutely devine. The whole Athletics NZ team thoroughly enjoyed all hospitality! Thank you! From the outset the warm professional environment set the scene for our gathering!
R.
The staff was quite helpful! I lost the key to my luggage lock, but they got the maintenance staff to being up a big pair or bolt cutters to set me free. Eveything was clean and the location was unbeatable.
Z.
Just a place to stay in, pretty basic, no fridge or aircon, no microwave, just a kettle, bed, shower with good water pressure, very basic, how ever, they can store your fridge stuff in a fridge they have at the reception, I guess it would be limited storage space, and they have a microwave as well, so they can heat up your food. And they have an indoor swimming pool and spa. Their parking is pretty expensive to be honest. We ended up parking at the Wilson places as it worked out way cheaper,
N.
Great location. Rooms are very noisy not only from events on Cuba St but as the internal hotel walls are paper thin. Bring ear plugs.
C.
Basic but yet meets all your requirements. Parking is FIFS after hours. They do have paid reserved parking if you request.
Location is right in the middle of town. Plenty of cafe and bars to eat at if you don't want to eat at there restaurant or cafe.
Feeling of the place is quite vintage and warm.
B.
When you view these rooms on the net they look a lot different so quite misleading asked to upgrade because room was so tiny no fridge no wine glasses told we could upgrade for another $100 per nite that was the only options so not a great help. Room was clean and tidy and I guess the price is determined by what you get, was happy to say another $50 per nite to upgrade to something slightly better that wasn't an option so then asked if we moved out after the first nite would we get our money back for the other 2 nights and were told we would have to go to the online web site and do it there not very helpful at all certainly won't be rushing back
J.
Superbly situated in the hub bub of Cuba Street, this is a surprising affordable option in Wellington, and in my room quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Lots of good eating options nearby.
S.
Nice enough room, good WiFi. Beware bait and switch breakfast though, the included one is nothing more than toast and tea/coffee. You must pay to upgrade for cereal, or eggs etc.
J.
Not bad to stay. Heaps of food choices plus wellington market nearby, friendly staff, but I could noises from other rooms on my floor.
M.
Basic rooms, just a bed and bathroom, but otherwise comfortable. Note most rooms don't have AC so they can be a little warm in summer time.
t.
Absolutely awesome...the staff were great and very helpful...room was tidy and clean I highly recommend this hotel to any patrons...thanks so much guys and girls well done...ngapaki and patsy Nikora from hokianga..northland
S.
Excellent stay, comfortable and great handy location for my reunion. Staff were friendly and the room rate was reasonable.
J.
Very helpful staff, clean more than adequate rooms, handy to everything - breakfast well served - coffee available. Good experience.
A.
Good price but very small rooms and no aircon - would be very hot in summer. Great location though
A.
Basic three star accommodation. Clean and tidy. A bit old and worn but good value if you want to be in the centre.
M.
Location ideal if you want to be close to alot of shops and very good restaurants. Rooms very well equipped for if you want to stay indoors.friendly staff.
P.
Tiny rooms but very clean and adequate. The location is great, convenient to all of the best tourist attractions.
T.
Good value for money and unbeatable location. Great hot pool. Unfortunately you can't pre-book a car park.
J.
OK for a short stay, very clean and friendly staff. Rooms are small and it can get a bit noise in the strees nearby
M.
Rooms very small and supplied cooling fan is useless on a hot night. Free "express breakfast" in restaurant makes up for the small room.
J.
Great hotel in an amazing location. Walk out the door into Cuba street and be greeted with a plethora of delicious food options.
L.
The tiny room was supposed to be a twin. It was - unless you needed to get out the door....then you had to move one of the single beds out of the way!
T.
Clean, tidy and good value. Rooms are small, as are bathrooms. Would stay again.
B.
Front desk staff brilliant, helpful and friendly. Rooms shall but clean and well maintained.
C.
One night stay here, wonderful bed. Hotel is well furnished and high quality, living up to its name
j.
Friendly staff. Great location for CBD. Very clean rooms as well. Overall good experience.
P.
Great position for a hotel right on Cuba street. Pokey room, but ticked all the other boxes for a short stay.
P.
I would rate this as a basic standard hotel with average cleanliness although has a reasonable location.
J.
The staff was friendly, and the location was great. The room was pretty small though, and it was rather loud.
m.
Small room but friendly staff, free breakfast and good facilities.

(Translated) I stayed seven nights with 17 Japanese.
In this hotel, two types of hotels, Confort and Quality, are connected to the same site (so CQ hotel?), The reception and the restaurant are common.
What I stayed at was "Comfort", which is cheaper, so I think it probably was a slightly simpler room than "Quality". The rooms were small but the beds were comfortable, instant but full of coffee (we were glad to have regular coffee and caffeineless coffee), chocolate drinks and boiling pods. There is no bath, only a shower.
The hotel's breakfast was standard with several all-you-can-eat delicious breads and drinks, and food such as cereals, yogurt and sausages was at extra cost.
Reception and correspondence of restaurant were wonderful, too.

(Translated) Ideally located in the center of Wellington to visit this city. In addition Cuba Street is a very busy street and located in the commercial district where you will find all the shops, restaurants and various shops. You are also just a stroll from the sea and all the sites to visit such as the Te Papa Museum, the Botanical Garden with its Cable Car, etc ... Comfortable hotel with parking, restaurant and staff listening. But like any hotel in the city center when it is a metropolis, the rooms are smaller but well equipped.
