Clean & warm motel. Beautiful thick cotton sheets & towels. I swam in the heated pool twice & loved it. Very accommodating & friendly staff. Kitchen very clean & well equipped with full oven, toaster, fridge & microwave. The dials on the oven were worn though & it was hard to read them. We enjoyed watching Sky movies! Good hot shower.

By far the best motel in Whakatane…!!!! Amazing people…!!! Family friendly….!!! Very understanding…..!!!! My family and I had been travelling all weekend, and didn’t get in till 1am with 5 children and my parents. These lovely people insisted we have a late check out to let us rest a bit more…. They were super helpful and wonderful people…!!! Clean and very convenient. Definitely recommend A+++++++++++

This is an amazing place on main road not far away from super market, fish n chips shop. Awesome customer services

Amazing Hosts and Staff very affordable and they go the extra mile, fresh towels, clean room etc every day and super friendly. Will be back again for sure. I will also tell all my friends. Thanks Steve and Alison.

Small, quiet, centrally located, excellent lighting in all rooms, beautiful snowy white chunky moisture absorbing towels Plunger coffee, and a small heated pool for the weather such as it has been recently. Finally the icy cold air conditioner allowing a soft cold breeze to waft across the bed to keep us cool. I liked the chairs and small table. For me this room no2 was excellently set up

Friendly helpful management and staff. Clean and tidy well presented accommodation. Close to almost everything, Will definitely be back another time.

Had a great stay, staff were absolutely wonderful, just like staying with whanau. Kids enjoyed pool as a bonus. Rooms were clean and serviced with friendly smiles daily. 2 inpaticlar were my relations. Thanku soooo much for having us. Will stay again. Ps, my mokos asked me to ask you to say goodbye to mason plz. Anyway thanku once again, we will stay again.😃

This is a beautiful place to stay. Friendly managers. Clean , warm and quiet. Like a home away from home.

We loved it!!, our room was clean and tidy, the owners were absolutely wonderful. Our two teenagers loved the pool. We will be coming back for sure. Honestly, the owners were so welcoming that it made all the difference for us.

Arrived without booking a room and even though it was school holidays we were lucky to be given a room for ourselves and 3 grandchildren. Room was big and really clean. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool. Host was friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

Cleanness is a priority on my checklist when ever I stay at any motel, the Alton exceeded my expectations.. I will be staying again. Highly recommended

Good Wifi ✓ 2 story rooms ✓ Good Owner ✓ My only issues was that the indoor pool was too shallow as it should get deeper on one side and that the bathrooms had no locks.

My stay truly was a very enjoyable experience, the rooms were a high standard of cleanliness and the bed was so very comfortable. Top marks all round for a very efficiently run operation. I will definitely come again. Highly recommended.

Staff are great, nice quiet room with aircon/heating. Room and it facilities were spotless. This was my second time in this motel, and I will be absolutely being using this motel next time I have to stay in whakatane. A++ and great value for money.

Stayed here with a bunch of guys while marking the roads, room i was in was furnished nice had air con, Wi-Fi a full oven with stovetop ECT... Good shower not really much more I can say I have nothing bad to say about it. Oh they have a swimming pool too but we did usher work too late to use it.

My partner, Heather, and I had the pleasure of staying at Alton Lodge Motel for 9 consecutive weeks. The timing wasn’t wholly by choice but we were refugees from the Edgecumbe flooding event and needed an indefinite stay until our home was declared fit for living. Alison and Steve considered our plight and viewed our wee Chihuahua Foxy cross animal whereupon they allocated us a unit adjacent to a grassy area and made us feel very welcome. What actually began as a fairly stress filled experience eased into a relaxed stay even though we needed to extend the time because of building delays. Our hosts went the extra mile to accommodate us and the regular chats boosted our fraying morale on occasions. The house staff became buddies over our extended time and this too helped morale considerably. Flute,our wee animal was particularly enamoured. We enthusiastically recommend Alton Lodge Great experiences begin with great service provided in a sincere and positive manner. Alison and Steve do this in Spades. The accommodation is superb. Comfortable with air conditioning and Sky Sport. The heat regulated indoor swimming pool is superb with temperatures carefully chosen to suit the climate conditions. Would we stay again? Absolutely but preferably in our own timeframe.

This motel is xlnt. Pricing is par with others in the area. It is nicely presented, amenities are basic but it is a motel not the Ritz. It is clean and comfortable. It is close to town and on the main road into town. What more could you ask for. Recommended.

We've stayed here before and have always found it clean and comfortable. The owners/managers are very warm and welcoming and always helpful.

I worked there an its very cosy laid back and has double bed and single beds down stairs easy access to pool and shops in kopeopeo or the opposite direction to centre town and burger king kentuckey fried chicken petrol station fire station just about all you need beaurepaire tyre shop coffee wagons

My daughter escaped the edgecumbe floods with her 10 day old baby and 2 year old and half a bucket of essential supplies. She went to 3 motels in whakatane and was turn away by all 3 saying they prefer no children or didn't want to deal with insurance. The people at Alton lodge were the total opposite. They asked other customers if they would mind moving rooms so my daughter and her family could be together in a family unit and supported and helped from the moment they got there. A huge thankyou to these people for all their efforts not just for my daughter but all of the people they have helped over the past few weeks. It's a shame not all of whakatanes accommodation services are like you.

Lovely apartment which was spotless and well equipped. A bit of a walk to the town centre - took about 15 mins. Lovely friendly staff. Would recommend!

Nice and tidy rooms, let them know that I was going to be late and they left room open and key on table with WiFi p/word. Awesome stuff!!

Very lovely place owners warm and welcoming, Great place for familys. Very clean... Enjoyed our night there and so did the kids.

The new owners were most helpful , our studio was clean and served our puropose well . The free wifi was efficent and realiable.

Whanau friendly.has every thing you need for a comfortable stay and perfect location to do things with your kids.Added bonus has a pool thumbs up for that.
