This is my 2nd time booking in this property. The first time I booked, there was a misunderstanding and I was so upset. However, this time I am so grateful and I can't Thank enough to Sunny for taking my calls and book in their wonderful property. Thank you so much Sunny, I truly appreciate your time and assistance on my booking for my colleagues. I will surely keep contacting you whenever we have work around Whakatane.

Stayed 2 nights arrived to a nice clean room, used the bbq to cook a roast in, swimming pool looked nice was a bit cold to swim but can imagine would be nice , cleaners do an awesome job every morning , friendly staff all round catered to what we asked for , good location close to shops and walking distance to a few nice spots, next to main road but not too noisey, rooms had everything we need to prepare food. Very reasonable rates . Will stay again for sure . And we met Liam the little baby of owners which was nice putting a personal touch to making you comfortable.

I was a bit worried with the recent reviews but it was fine for me my partner and baby and mum who can be quite fussy. Partner decided to come along so paid $25 extra which was a good price. I arrived at 9pm and they had set the portacot up and had fresh towels each day, a busy street but direct access to Kope and Town centre. Also sky channels provided 👌 nice and quiet

Beds were comfortable but found the carpet not so clean. Unfortunately some other noisy people also stayed there the same night. Price was reasonable. Will most probably overnight there again.

We were very pleasantly surprised with Cortez. The pricing was very reasonable, we anticipated the quality would be lower. Rooms were lovely and clean and surpsingly spacious, grounds were well taken care of and the pool was very nice. Even had a good amount of toys and equipment for the kids. Staff were all fantastic, friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Comfortable beds and all sky channels,but rooms are in need of an upgrade . Service was lacking.had to ask for milk and only one fork in the cutlery tray. we stayed two nights,and our room was not cleaned properly on the second day. No fresh towels and once again had to ask for toilet paper and face cloths. Really disappointing 😔 We won't be back!

It served as the perfect base for our Taupo trip, where we stayed for two nights and explored the surrounding area. The convenience of the town was a pleasant surprise, with a Countdown supermarket open until 10pm, making our stay even more convenient. The inn itself offers spacious rooms equipped with a kitchen and all the necessary utensils, bowls, and glasses. Although there is no air conditioning, they provide a heater and fan for comfort. The separate shower and toilet ensure a dry bathroom experience. While the swimming pool is closed during winter, the ample parking spaces and the friendly and helpful staff make up for it.

My first time staying here last weekend with friends was a great experience in Whakatāne receptionist staff were very friendly and welcomed us rooms were very hygienic and clean and comfy bathrooms were excellent other people who were staying we’re easy to get along with and have a conversation outside so close to town and the beaches also the restaurants hope to stay here again soon

To be honest from the front the motel doesn't look the newest but staf were welcoming and friendly the rooms are some of the cleanest I have been in for a long time. Studio has everything thing you need and spacious. Will definitely stay again.

I really liked it. The guy at reception was nice/helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, but the bathroom window latch was broken, and hard to pull in (it was a cold night) otherwise, I slept well and I'd definitely stay here again

Very friendly and quick check in which made the experience even better, Also found that the booking was made so much easier through the website/owner rather than booking sites etc. Room's are a little dated but very clean and comfortable especially for the price! (expect to pay more if you want a modern motel with designer decor etc), I know I will be back again to stay.

We have just stayed three nights at the Cortez Motels in Whakatane. The service was A+ so friendly so professional. The cooked breakfast is a must, sets you up for the day, and hot! We will be back. Location to town a nice walk, no traffic noise at night. Shower so hot, fabulous. We will be back.

Highly recommended place to stay, with 5-star customer service. The owners were awesome and were happy to provide us with an early check in. I forgot a sentimental bracelet in the motel room and they posted it to me. The units are very clean and comfortable, we will be back, thank you!

Grounds well kept, room had separate toilet to shower, no air conditioning but did supply big standing fan in the room, great outdoor seating area for a bbq. ||Only downfall was murky pool, they only emptied the bin but didn't top up coffee or milk so we had to get our own because we came back late, also had stay in families living at the motel.

Had a good 3 nights at the Cortez motel. Everything was as expected for a mid-range motel. Good service - friendly staff - and helpful with hints, ideas and brochures for the next leg of our journey. The only real negative was the lack of parking beside the room. Apart from that - good kiwi lodgings!

Service amazing from Cameron, room a bit past its best, plenty of wear and tear in the spa bath. Not being able to park by unit may prove a bit of a challenge if you have a bit to carry and room near reception. Kitchenette a blessing though.

This a nice little motel for the budget conscious. The beds were very comfortable, yay;, more expensive places could do better with their beds! The bbq area outside are cheerful and well used last night by several units. Could do with some redecorating but I'd stay there again

Good little motel. Affordable and clean. The room was simple, but everything was tidy and the bed was comfy. Good shower pressure and temperature aswell. The staff were friendly too. Overall, it is great for the price.
