J. a. B. P.Nice old style hotel with lovely bones, a spacious lounge and balcony overlooking main street. Very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in need of a face lift as carpets worn and decor bland. A few paintings could help.
No sleep in as vacuuming started before 7 a.m.
C. W.Loved the Thai chilli beef salad very nice and a large meal. Fish and chips looked great also. Well worth it to stop for lunch

The hotel is a beautiful old building, reasonably maintained. The accommodation was clean and tidy, but dated. The shared toilets and showers were clean and tidy. The shared kitchen and line areas were good enough, but 3 things in those spaces had "not in use"signs on them? They went needed there so just get rid of them.
Over all, it is value for money accommodation.
M. F.It is what it is. Basic, clean, warm and very friendly. Excellent no frills accommidation and probably the best bowl of chips i have eaten in 60 years, would definitely recommend it to people on a budget.

K.Stayed here the night as we couldn't find any where else on a Saturday night.
The room was good, very comfortable beds and good shower pressure.
The kitchen was very basic however the bar was great and friendly staff, free parking in the back and you couldn't get any closer to the center of town.

Y. R.Wonderful evening. Went to the Pub for dinner. Great atmosphere, live entertainment and beautiful food! We all had the fish and chips. Very generous portions, the fish just melted in your mouth. Chips were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Salad was great. Tartare sauce was lemony and delicious. Would go again.

D. F.Very old hotel which is well managed and clean. Good value for money but quite basic. The Craic pub has a nice Irish atmosphere.
T. K.Staff are really nice and the food is great. Cocktail happy hour is disappointing. Happy hour globally means half price not 15 dollars down to 13. However I am always willing to pay more for quality. Sorry but honestly the staff need to visit the Ponsonby bar in Rotorua to learn how cocktails are properly made. Especially if you expect to charge $15 and up. They have the potential to do better and seek the right expert to show them how.
A.Good Irish-style vintage decor. Screened cosy seating for private groups apart from usual open plan bar tables. Friendly bar and security staff.
J. R.Nice atmosphere, meal was nice, I had the lamb shank end enjoyed it. Desert was yummy, although it was advertised as cookies and cream cheese cake yet i was brought out lemon, which wasn't really an issue, but might pay to get the chalk boards correct.

D. M. H.The open fire(gas) was brilliant on a chilly night and our barman was a pleasant and helpful chap. Good number of screens around too if your interested in catching the game. The street furniture was pretty useful and quite unique.

C. C.Standard pub fair at a reasonable price. Had the beef burger and it was very tasty! As always, Guinness on tap was well appreciated and the booths provided a private feel within the establishment.
S. R.We had low expectations and it exceeded them (just). Wasn't a noisy night like we thought it would be, bed and room was comfortable, only downfall was the shower. I'm 6ft tall, my partners 6ft2, and the showerhead was barely shoulder height. Installing a simple slide shower would solve that!
J.Great place to relax, listen to some good music, have a feed, have a drink or latte and people watch. Friendly and helpful staff. Love the atmosphere sitting outside.

K. H.Nice and close to centre of town, Good staff Maybe ask if there is a Band or live music on the nights you stay. As they have a (Boiler room) Night club under where you sleep in some rooms L shaped hotel. So ask if you don't like Boom Boom till 3am. But apart from that all good. Normal city noise. Will stay again BUT will ask about Bands I hope this helps
