j.Beautiful room, very clean to a high standard. The staff were amazing, handled our booking with care, even offered for us to checkout later than expected so we wouldn't miss the All Black game. I would highly recommend to all. We will definitely be back with our family.
A.Nice proximity to the city, supermarkets and shops. The only downside is the noise that comes from the road. As it's on a busy road, and by the traffic lights, you hear big trucks and boy-racers etc. all through the night and especially in the morning. Even with ear-plugs in, I could clearly hear noise that seemed to easily seep through the door. You can also hear the muffle of people talking in the next room.
Rooms themselves are pretty clean with all you need for a nights stay. The spa bath next to the bed is a bit strange, but not a deal-breaker.
As for people saying the receptionist was rude; I found her to be nice, welcoming and pleasant. Just because she needs to protect herself and others from Covid, as well as following the law, doesn't warrant bad reviews because she's just doing her job. As this govt. have been saying for ages... want 'freedoms'? - get vaxxed! It's as simple as that.
J.Great experience. Check in was quick and easy. The room was spacious, kitchenette was well equipped and everything was clean and fresh. The spa bath was amazing. We only stayed overnight but are looking for an excuse to come back to Whanganui just to stay again.
B.Not to bad needs updating as rooms quite tired looking. Person at front desk was pleasant however although had stayed there before a bond needed and took a while before admission granted. Then next morning when leaving no one at front desk, then when eventually came, asked me to sit down while they do something? It appeared she may have been having breakfast. Overall not a very welcoming motel.
T.This place is great. Heaps of little details which has made for a stay great. Like the little sewing kit that saved the day! Thank you.

R.Comfortable room with huge spa. Bed and pillows where great. Easy 10 minute walk from motel into town and river area. Right next to New World supermarket. I used the motels gym membership to use the gym which was only a quick 5 minutes walk from the motel. Good well equiped gym.
J.Nice place. Close to supermarkets. Beds very comfortable. Seemed like lots of sales reps staying. Was quite noisy early evening (till about 9pm) as they were congregating by the smokers table by our unit. Owners were very friendly and provided ice on request. Big spa bath in room.
M.One of the best places I have stayed in a while. Super comfortable and spacious room. Heatpump was super quiet while providing more than adequate warmth. The double spa bath was awesome after a long day and the bed was really comfortable. There was next to no road noise in the room which was a bonus and zero noise from other tenants. Would highly recommended and would definitely stay again if got the chance. The check was easy with very nice staff.

L.Superb location in heart of Whanganui. Lovely clean well appointed room. The deluxe room comes with a 2 person side by side spa bath. Amazing variety of extras ie, choices of tea/ coffee, cookies, sugars. Bathroom amenities plentiful. Lovely monsoon shower head and separate massager shower head. Will definitely rebook.
R.We had a really spacious ground floor room. It was a cold day but the heat pump ensured we stayed cosy. The was a very large spa bath in our room but we didn't try it. Bed was really comfortable. Carpet was clean. Bathroom was fine but cold in the morning. Shower pressure was good. Smaller sized vanity unit. Unfortunately the bathroom lamp above the mirror was coming away from the wall. Couple of other places on the wall it looked like water damage. Helpful man in reception.

J.Tidy, well equipped rooms with a comfy, warm bed and your own private balcony, just the spot to enjoy your lunch and a glass of wine. Close to all amenities, supermarkets, restaurants, takeaways even a liquor store it is all in close walking distance. Friendly and polite staff, totally enjoyed our time here.

H.I was so impressed with this accomodation. The room was clean and new and the beds were very comfortable! The spa bath was amazing and the staff were lovely and accommodating, also great value for money!!
G.Excellent space and facilities. Very large screen TV: great to watch the rugby. Superior spa bath but with it in the bedroom, rather than bathroom, it became very steamy and tropical for sleeping.
Hosts were friendly and kindly allowed an early check in.

T.One of the best places to reside in Whanganui. The staff members are really nice and the rooms are extravagant. They have good baths and jacuzzi's which can make your trip comfortable. The location is ideal as it is almost opposite Pak n Save and abeam Pizza Hut. This can sort out groceries, quick bites as well as fuel.
T.I'm writing this from the motel and I am so impressed I can't help but leave a great review. Staff were all smiles each time we met anyone on our way to and from our room. Quiet area and very well insulated for a great nights sleep. Excellent value for money.
T.Our family recently stayed at the Aotea and found it to be lovely and fresh and new. The few times we had to go to reception it was a less than acceptable service. We found our room very clean and tidy. The location of this motel is very good with a 15 minute walk -all flat-to the city centre.

S.A must stay in Wanganui. Generous size rooms ( we stayed in a Studio) with beautiful linen, a lovely comfy bed and plenty of pillows. The highlight for us was the huge spa bath and massive shower which comfortably fit two very tall ( not small) adults. The generous supply of towels, bath robes and those little extras like bubble bath was luxury at a very affordable price. Thank you to our friendly hosts you have a real asset for your lovely little town. :-)
P.Clean, tidy rooms with everything you need within, close to town and supermarkets. Unfortunately we could hear the person in the room next door snoring thus 4 stars.

A.Great place to stay but a bit expensive. Has everything you require and very close to town. Clean tidy and friendly staff. Bit noisy as it's on the main street.
M.Except for the view everything was excellent, but who cares what's outside when you're only there for a nights rest? Everything else is at your fingertips! They even organise your dining at the best restaurant in town. You just turn up to eat. Priced reasonable for what you get although you need a bit of money to afford it! Great!
T.We stayed a couple of nights here and found it excellent. Easy walk into the centre of town maybe 10-15 minutes topsclose to getting in and out of the place in moving on. A well-appointed unit that was very comfortable and great recommendations for dining and shopping from the staff. Excellent value for money.
A.This is the second motel stayed at in Whanganui and now the only one we prefer to stay at. Great facilities. Friendly staff and are very helpful to resolve any issues. Love the spa very spacious
T.From the usual drab, soulless motels we had encountered on the rest of our visit to New Zealand. I don't understand why the rest of the hospitality industry in NZ is so slow to get to grips with this feature. There was trash from the prior guest in the bathroom trash can when we arrived. Location is great.

T.The motel is a 15 minute walk from the town centre. We were met by a lovely Maori lady who was able to offer us our room on arrival. The office supplied free washing powder. The Aotea Motor Lodge is only an ok Motel but certainly not a 5* property.
C.Perfect place to get away for the night.... Loved the spa in the bedroom.... Exactly what my partner and I wanted and needed.... Does need too improve on the driveway as its not designed for lowered cars.... Other then that more then perfect.... 💯 👌

A.Really nice Motor lodge in a prime location in Wanganui. Right beside all three supermarkets and a slew of fast food options. The rooms were very spacious with a large bathroom and we had a spa bath as well. Friendly staff even recommeded booking directly through them next time to save money. If I need to stay in Wanganui this will be where I will go!
