Bob and Carol are the best hosts of this wonderful motor lodge. Super helpful and friendly. Well designed rooms with a great colour scheme.

Property was quite old and the cabinets were a bit falling apart but the floors, bathrooms were clean. On the first night, I discovered a bit of sand in my bed for some weird reason and it was basically everywhere. Not sure why this happened. I do have to give credit to that vending machine though :) items were priced reasonably. Around 2 dollars a piece and 2.50 for a drink. I think overall the place is on the expensive end for this type of price around 250 a night. All the furniture is outdated but I can’t complain that much considering it was clean.

Perfect stay! My room was incredibly clean and tidy. It is a little older but perfectly appointed. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you’d need to cook meals. Smart TV. The manager was so so nice. I was up for a wedding and asked to check in early which they accommodated which made my day so much easier. Highly recommend.

Absolutely peaceful settings, the rooms were very accommodating with a spa bath, ample shower cubicle and spacious dining and lounge room. Free wifi always a bonus and SKY channels. Looking for another to ho bac. Very affordable charges with the option of laundry at a minimal cost. Very handy to a shopping centre and at least 4 restaurants and fast food outlets. The kitchen is also well equipped with the necessary cooking apparatus microwave included with a flat top bench elements for cooking. Loved 😍 this place. Great for families also.

Always clean, rooms have everything you need when working away from home. Great location v close to city 2 minutes by car. Bob and Carol owners v welcoming and friendly. Stayed many times.

Second time staying at this hotel first time I really enjoyed it paid 300 for 2 nights came with relaxing spa bath and heat pump. Second time around paid 180 for a room for 1 night came with a tiny plug in fan heater that couldn't warm the room up at all, no plug for the bathroom sink and woke up at 4:30am this morning to find the whole toilet floor and toilet seat were soaked from water leaks when it rains plus wallpaper is all ripped in bathroom and tried to get covered up by a fire evacuation notice, was a complete waist of my money. Not happy and not coming back either.

Very close to a main road. Personally, I didn't really notice the sound, 7but my husband likes sleeping a window open. It was nice and clean, great sheets and everything needed ie iron, ironing board, toaster, microwave, electric fry pan were all there.

Would absolutely stay at this hotel again! Our room was very spacious and equipped with a useful kitchenette, but what really stood out was the service provided by the hosts Bob and Carol. Bob offered my friend and I many recommendations and pieces of advice. The hosts really did everything in their power to make our short trip to Whangarei very enjoyable. They even let us receive some love from their sweet little dog, Jeb, which was very appreciated. Bob also drove my friend and I to the bus stop when we had to head out. Great hotel, great service, great hosts!

Lovely hosts. Very accommodating and hospitable. Clean and tidy rooms. An older facility, but well maintained, with various things modernised as needed. Quite a bit of traffic noise, but that doesn’t bother us so it didn’t impact our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was much bigger than we expected. The small balcony was perfect for reading a book while over looking the trees across the road. It is in close proximity to everything you would need. The breakfasts were really good. Picture of breakfast burrito included. The big breakfast looked good. We also had the continental breakfast one morning as we had to get up before breakfast was being served. They kindly provided this the night before so we did not have to miss out. There were a few choices for both cooked and continental breakfasts which was perfect! Would definitely come back.

Pembrooke Motor Lodge was a very nice and comfortable accommodation and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Also the reception area had many brochures about Whangarei and free WIFI was available. We were given a large room with a kitchenette, lounge area with couch and large TV and reasonably large bathroom. The bed was also very large, warm and comfortable with clean fresh sheets. The little kitchenette had facilities were great and included a microwave, toaster, fridge with fresh milk, jug with hot drinks, a sink, cups utensils and plates, there was also a table and chairs and a desk area to put all your things. Overall this was a very nice accommodation at a reasonable price, it was also very tidy and clean and the staff were friendly.

A fair enough price for what you get. Parking is tight in what is basically a tired, cluttered property. Rooms are definitely dated, with a mix of old furniture. However, it was clean and the hosts are friendly and obliging. Once you work past the slightly unprofessional initial impressions, it's fine. I booked this place in a rush, based on a 4.3 star avg review. Not really accurate, but I guess for the money I'm happy.

Carol and Bob were extremely amazing Hosts absolutely awesome service last minute booking for two rooms then 3 then 4 and 5 rooms booked at the last minute also gave our Tamariki some weetbix for breakfast made us feel like at home after losing a loved one beds 10* pillows 10* had an amazing sleep also beautiful friendly dogs would definately be back to stay there 💜💜💜💜

We stayed in unit 11. It was very roomy. Large Bathroom/toilet & walk in shower. The bed was comfortable. We came up from Invercargill and the communication was good. I needed a shower stool they supplied that and they worked out the best unit for my needs. It had a nice seating area back and front doors. The owners were so lovelly and went out of their way to accommodate us. The full breakfast was hot and delicious (we even got homemade apple pie which was so tasty and surprising, which the owner had made) We highly recommend this Lodge and we would stay there again. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay in your lovelly Lodge.

Our room was not clean enough, inside the toilet was yellow, and dusty on the sink. I know it is not a big problem, but our room was on upstairs, we had to up and down to carry luggages, not very convenient to access between car and room. People at the counter were nice and friendly.

Unfortunately, we were overcharged close to $300 for one night, and we are having great difficulty getting our money back. The owner, when contacted, was quite rude, telling me he didn't want to know about the overcharge, to go through the booking agency for it, then telling me I was a 'good girl' (I'm 50!) when I said I would do that. Very condescending, sexist and unhelpful I felt. And over three weeks later - we're still waiting for our money!

Clean and comfortable with everything you need for a night away. The reasonable room rates reflect the somewhat dated fittings but the bed was very comfortable and with free wifi and a central location, a great option for a short stay.

Our room was good. Had spar pool. But the door handle to the path room n toilet keep falling off. Not fix. And I fix it myself. Apart from that everything was perfect. Five star.

Place was ok. However blanket was disgusting, there was a couple of flies on this spot on the blanket so I didnt use it. They didnt bother flushing the toilet before I checked in. Food portions are good however they sometimes give stale food eg old rice. Loved the shower, good water pressure. Good managers.

Pembroke Motor Lodge was great. Stayed for one night in November 2023. Room was spacious and very clean. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, with quality fine cotton sheets. Good aircon. Good value. Location is ideal for exploring Whangarei and surrounds. Bob and Carol were so welcoming, friendly and hospitable. They made our stay. Highly recommend.

We stayed two nights in unit 1.||This is an older, dated motel but clean and comfortable.||Some units may get traffic noise but we were away from the road.||Roomy units, comfortable bed, park at the door, wide screen tv, basic kitchen.||Very handy to the basin and the new Hunterwasser museum.||Also very convenient to Bank Street and its cafes and restaurants.||We would strongly recommend Essence cafe and Whang Thai in Bank Street.||Unlike many motels all units here HAVE air conditioning absolutely essential this time of year.||This motel is value for many but dont expect five stars.
